If you save a file as a *.txt file (with Notepad on the desktop, for example), you can open them on your device with Pocket Word.

Missing Windows Folder In Active Synce
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have active synce 4.5b installed and on my old mda compact i used to be able to see the windows folder when using the pc to explore the pda (ie so i could delete shortcuts from my pda or add ring tones directly to the windows / rings folders etc).
i have bought an 02 orbit and have tried to browse to my windows folder exept i can not see it in the exploere window of active synce yet my brothers mda compact when synced to my pc shows the windows folder ok.
when i use resco explorer in the pda i can see the windows folder. so my question is, is the windows folder hidden and how can i get access to it from the pc?
it is a hidden file as far as the PC is concerned. You need to tell the pc to show hidden files.
in the explorer window
tools
folder options
view tab
show hidden files and folders

Nokia SMS file, stored in plain text. More info here:

Without having to download special software, you can first try copy the files to PC through ActiveSync, rename them as .txt files by simply add a .txt extension, e.g., filename.vmg to filename.vmg.txt, then open with Notepad.
is there a text editor built into the phone somewhere? It would be real nice to be able to read files while in the phone itself , or do you have to be tied to the pc?
You have word in the office hub. You may create new files but syncing with pc is not supported as far as I know. You have to send files from your pc to your phone via email.
Advanced Explorer and TouchXplorer both offer full filesystem access and the ability to open any file for reading/editing in Word (although some files will be write-protected). This generally works fine for plain-text files.
Friends, I was able to pass into Spanish mui ... I just do not know how to get them to the windows folder of the phone (I tried the registry editing on your PC, although I detected that the mobile device, disk, copy the files and I will change the name and extention .. . whereupon after the cell which is not one or the other ...)
Know any way to transfer files to the cell that are neither music nor images? osea ZUNE does not work .. beyond anything unless you do not know ...
If we transfer these files to your mobile phone after editing the registry ... SPANISH FOR EVERYONE
You could use the Chevron ringtone pc app and just add wma at the end of the file type. Then when they are on the phone use touch explorer and change the extension again and move wherever you liked...
Not the best solution since you can only do 5 at a time before you have to empty the ringtone folder the ringtone app uses. Worked perfect for me when I had to add map files to my hd2 for navigon.
I have the colornote app on my gs3 and regularly use this for notes. It automatically saves your notes to a backup file as a .dat file. This saves to my micro sd card; I have put these files on my Win7 pc yet nothing on my pc can open and view these files. I have tried notepad, wordpad, ms word, internet browsers, etc. When it opens in notepad it is just Chinese characters. I have tried opening the files in notepad and saving as a .doc or .txt and that doesn't work. I have scoured the internet and found no answers. I could easily copy and paste to my email, but I do not want my intellectual property out there (cautious privacy concerns).
So my question is, is there any way I can view these .dat files on my pc, or any way to get my notes on my pc in a different format that will be readable? And if there is no way to do this what other note apps work well that save your notes as a doc or txt?
Thanks for the input.
