There isn't a limitation. According to this thread it may be a problem with your device. Can you deploy an application with the official application deployer?
Of course, I used to install it with "tom xap"
In fact with your batch it works with some , and not with others . I'm trying to investigate and I'll tell you which one gave me problems, maybe wrong signatures or ....

Could be that these aren't signed with the certificate from chevron wp7.
I will add a feature to automatically sign these apps with a chosen certificate. Probably somewhere this week

Yes you need to have Zune running because of the usb connection.

No, this only resigns the applications. Just for installing apps from marketplace.

Yes, choose Emulator in settings
Right, so you have to let it resign the App if it's from the Marketplace, if you do this will the marketplace on the phone still update the app when updates are released etc?

This is the new FREE music ID software from Samsung Omnia ported to be work on any PPC.
I have found another ported version on another forum, but there you have to use WIFI as the network. But I hope you don't have WIFI in the places where you wonna recognize a new song as in your car or club....
So I modded the software to use GPRS/3G network.
In addition on other version I found it installs to the main memory, but you can install my version on your SD/Internal Memory/Device as you wish.

I found that I could only get the other version working on my Diamond2 over WiFi. On GPRS/3G/HSPA it simply returned with a "Network Error" message.

Error was when I prompted for Lyrics or Youtube... Anyone know how to fix that? Playing a sample worked though!
I fixed the data connection setting in the original installation package, you can get it here. No need to mess with registry or patches after install.

1. others needs to do the registry change manually.
2. the whole 4.5MB software essentially installs under WINDOWS folder in others.
Because I like installing in one shot and each MB is precious for me, hope the others would feel the same way too.

Here's the updated emulator build. It seems very similar (and the build number is only a bit higher) than the one leaked last week. As with that build, there's no options to add data sources to sync/connect with. Ugh! I'll keep working at it as it's bound to be there somewhere but we'll see.

Unlike previous builds, it seems that you need to pass a VMID to the XDE executable. As follows...
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft XDE\1.0\XDE.exe" "C:\Users\YOU\Desktop\WM70C1-6414-unlocked.bin" /VMID {E575DA31-FC47-4766-853F-018D823B9EE6}
Or you can place the file in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Emulation\Images" with the name "WM70C1.bin" and debug with visual studio and it will launch. I've only tried a super basic app but this appears to be the first one that actually works fully with debugging! This should help the devs that want to be able to test with the various task launchers with some actual data.

Can you install the tools with my mode? I can't, the installation can't download Windows Phone Emulator x64 and it's block. HELP!!!
Eh, I created a new WP app project in Expression Blend and immediately ran it. The basic title layout already doesn't match the system layout. *sigh*
Got problems installing it via the repair routine - just getting errors that some parts of the install couldn't complete. Damned....
Yes, it's *much* safer to do a full uninstall of CTP tools, reboot, then install the Beta.

But I've got a problem with the emulator. It's choppy like hell, it always was for me. I've got a Core 2 Duo 2,14 GHz so I don't think that should be a problem, but I see it is using just one core. Is there a trick to enable emulator using the 2nd core or get it somehow hardware accelerated?
I wanted a clean, unbranded and nice xap deployer, just double click a xap file and point Windows to this app (or just drag a file over the executable).

Troubleshooting
Things to try:
Check with Chevron if your phone is unlocked!
Unplug and plug your phone, then try again
Reboot your phone and try again
Try running the Zune software
Try deploying the same xap to the emulator, and if no luck it might be a problem with the file
You can get free xap files for your device or emulator using Desktop Marketplace (also Desktop Marketplace includes this deployer in an automated setup program).

I have personally experienced some issues, but I feel that the problem is the phone itself, because with tom's deployer and the original MS deployer I receive an error until I reboot/reconnect my phone.

I developed an "USB Storage Enabler" Tool for Windows phone 7, so you can easy enable or disable the WP7 USB functionality.
You need to have Zune installed and one device connected for least one time.
To enter the USB Storage you'll close Zune.
Now you can use your phone like a simple USB Stick

Oh,... try to run this tool as an administrator. (maybe UAC or somethings is blocking some registry functions)
i run it standard, without admin.
ps. i have chevron hack + NoDo updated + all wp7 developer programs

Phone is on NoDo with C7 unlock and Samsung tools to prevent relocking.
It enables all found zune devices. If you've flashed your phone to a new version the "old one" (=zune device registration) is still stored in the registry. Ignore them :]
Works fine with Win 7 and HD7 after starting with admin rights...cool !!!

Same issue for me but on HTC 7 Pro with chevron NoDo updated (not walshed)
That is freaken awesome! Even works when the phone is locked (not cheveroned!)
Only bug i see is something i had got with the registry hack. It shows 2 phones (Both are mine and both access file system.

Camera Improvement
Is someone getting the camera improvment (panorama capture, burst mode) to work? (Camera_Improvement.xap)
There is an entry in Settings, but nothing in the Camera Settings.
(HD7 Mango RTM)
That's might be because of Omega is MSM_7x30 based system...while HD7 and other device are MSM_8x50
Can somebody try this with the HTC Shipped Mango Rom?
It states xap signature invalid ?
thanks for the files. I was able to sideload all of them without any errors (signature, or HTC only) on an LG Quantum with 7720.68 with wp7deploy.exe by Erwin Ried (v.1.6.2).
connect the phone via USB. Have Zune Client open. Drag and drop the xap onto wp7deploy.exe and it will sideload it (it replaces the signature and removes DRM). Note that wp7deploy will not work on WP SDK7.1. you need an earlier version.
btw. do not install attentive phone on any other device than HTC. it will add an item to your settings page and none of the functions will work. there is a way to remove it once you added it.

Redangel Deployer works with SDK 7.1 and also removes DRM:

thanks, works great.
when I extract I only get a mpap_HTC_MASD_01.provxml file in the folder. am i supposed to do something else first...?

These other files are hidden somehow. Make sure, that in your Windows Explorer you enabled to see hidden files in the explorermenu

Did you get working the live tile (I mean the big tile) ?
Neither on my HD7 nor on my OMNIA 7 it´s updating...
does anyone know if i can get an xap installer to work with the new RC tools?

if you pin the weather or stock live tile they work and update though (tap and hold a location under weather or a stock to pin to start. For news you need to go into one of the news feeds and then pin). The Hub doesn't update here either on LG Quantum. I personally prefer the Mango updated Samsung Now Hub.
I cant install any of these. I get "XAP package signature is not valid or the WP manifest file is invalid. Re-sign with valid signature and fix the manifest file."
Tried every deploying application i can find, none work.
