...car?
After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that it is the Bugatti Veyron. With a proven top speed of 253.2 mph, it is the fastest production car ever built.
At top speed the tyres last a whole 15 minutes, but you don't really need to worry about that as the 100 litre fuel tank would be empty after 12.5 minutes.
It's got an 8-litre, W-16, quad-turbo'd engine.
So it must be the best right?
So, how come when I went to the dealer's last week to buy one, he said it wouldn't suit me? Maybe there's more to this buying a car business than I thought!
I went into it a bit more with him and it turns out that it costs nearly £800,000...and that's just for the car! There's a mechanic on-call 24-hours a day, ready to be flown to where the car is but I'm pretty sure you'd still have to pay parts and labour!!
And get this - there's only two seats! Totally unsuitable for me, my wife and my two (soon to be three!!) children.
OK, so not the best car in the world for me then.
I decided to go onto one of those car-thingy websites and use that search button gizmo - it turns out you can look for things that you like and use that information to decide what the best car is for yourself - imagine that!
I decided that before I dropped nearly a million pounds on my next car, that I should look into it a little bit. Using my new-found search skills, I discovered that the best car for me is what's called a people carrier - and they're nearly £775,000 cheaper than my first choice!! Wow! I could save myself a lot of money here!!!
So, I figured I could have a go of each one and find out which one suited me best - did you know that there's all sorts of different configurations of them? It really is amazing you know - under seat storage, built-in entertainment systems, loads of seats, removable seats, loads of boot space, more compact ones - the list of possible configurations is mind-boggling but did you know you can try them out? Test-drive them, they call it. It helps you decide even further which one is best for you.
So, I've decided I'm going to follow a few simple steps to deciding what car to buy next...
Look at what I want from a car
Look which available cars have a spec similar to what I'm looking for. If none are spot on, which is closest and can I add things to it later?
Try them all out.
Read some reviews.
Hopefully, following these simple steps, I can soon decide which car is best for me.
Oh, and lastly, I've just found out that before I can test drive any of the cars, I need to have insurance against accidents! If you can believe such a thing would happen.
I've done some more reading a discovered that the best insurance is available from the "HardSPL 2.10.olipro" insurance company ;-)

What can I say, it's a quiet day ;-)
Smiffy.
But does the Bugatti come in a "Black" version?
It did, but the initial release had a couple of problems - when you started the engine, the gearbox would freeze and it wouldn't move.
Only the black ones had this problem apparently but that 24-hour on call skilled mechanic is working to resolve the issue and it should be done by this weekend.
Some people have resorted to running the standard coloured one for the time being.
Sinclair C5.
Also known as PocketPC 2002.
This should be a STICKY!

Light version?
Turns out as well that you can get a Car Light version too - something called a Motorbike? This has had all the extra bits taken out to make it much quicker.
My problem is that my Car Light (motorbike) version seems to be very slow. All I've done is install a few things - 2 extra seats, a ton and a half of bodywork, 2 more wheels, a sunroof, air con and two tonnes of junk in the boot. Why does my Car Light version now seem no quicker than the full version?
I don't see why someone spent hours converting the Car into a Light version when they've obviously done such a shoddy job. I expect the mechanic to look into it NOW and post a new version within the next 20 minutes that will give me all the speed of the Motorbike version but still able to carry all my family and their luggage on our holiday.
And then I'm not going to say "thanks" after they try!

Very funny Like it Lord
I really like some of the Lamborghini bits, so I started with a official shipped Murcielago and then grafted a few parts from a pre-release Veyron onto it - things like the alternator (heard it has more power for quicker startups). Then I grafted the electronics from the Veyron also (heard they have better reception on the radio and consumes less battery power when the car is not running) - I can get two WHOLE days without starting the car. Lastly, I took the dash out of the Veyron because it's user interface is way better. Turns out many of the mounts where in the same places, but I just hacked a few up to make it fit. Overall, it is awesome - great battery, great reception, really fast, quick to start and looks great. On the downside, sometimes it just stops while I am flying at 240 MPH and now I have voided the warranty - I am thinking of returning it to factory condition to see if I can get free service. ANYONE GOT A GUIDE??? THXXXXXXXXX.

It will if you rip the front from an 8-track cassette-deck and fit it with bluetooth-tac to the front of your Lambo, just above the badge.
It's a temp fix I know but until I package the OEM from Grundig into a .cab it'll have to do..
Do we have a verysion by Lucas yet?
Worst outsourced bulls*** customer service ever-- they change their ship dates without notifying anyone, ignore support tickets, tell you they will call you back and then don't-- the full ringer.

I'm going through the same thing.... I ordered screen protectors from AMZER.COM on June 15 til now I haven't receive anything from them! I can't do anything but wait.
Sorry to hear about this everyone. Hope everything gets worked out
I was just about to order from them. However, after reading all the negative reviews...I decided to stay away
For what it's worth, I just got my two (different style) cases from them today. Yeah, it took a little while, but I got them.
I ordered an hdmi cable from them, but im not too worried. ill get it when i get it. I dont ever plan to use it anyway, its just cool to have. Besides, if your good enough to not need customer support, youll never have this problem with any company
I ordered from these guy about a month ago. I did not have high expectations of them then, but I did it anyway. I even read a few reviews like this about the company before hand.
Although it took a while, I got two nice cases for a reasonable price. I'm not going to complain that much. Yes, it would have been nice to get order updates or something, but, oh well. I have my cases.
I order black snap on case and hdmi cable and i got my package in 4 days. I personally like their services.
Would the phone still function as a wifi device when you report it lost? If im going to pay $100 I much rather keep my current phone for wifi and testing out roms, its a rev 2 with tons of light leakage, some LCD pixel rainbow leakage near the top of the screen,a minor scratch on the screen, battery cover is warped and bent out of shape it barely stays on and theres a ding on the bottom right side.
Don't even think its worth trying to argue with radioshack that I should get a replacement under warranty instead of paying insurance $100 of my hard earned cash.
I can't stand dealing with brick n mortar employees.. they are so aggravating to negotiate with.
Also, in before Sprint employees call "FRAUD!" I think selling me a phone with so many major defects then trying to make an extra $100 off me to replace is more fraudulent.
I won't judge you!
Yes wifi will work fine.
lol, I just deleted my response to your thread in General. FYI, a mod can easily move threads around..
In response to your question:
Yes, your phone will still function as a wifi enabled device
The only possible problem would be it trying to run the Hands-Free-Activation but I think you're good if you leave it powered off for a day after you activate the new one. Also, you can avoid that possibility all together if you put CM on it. Sprint can't activate AOSP builds on their network. I've had to flash back to Sense builds 3 times to get phones switched around between my Sprint account and my Dad's.
Why doesn't everyone do this to have an extra wifi device? Oh, that is why they cost 600 bucks to buy outright.... that's right.
In your situation i see no problem and won't judge.
Everyone else who sees this thread and does it just because they want to browse porn on their couch is what aggravates me.

Agreed, the OP doesn't seem to be a crook. I think his logic is pretty sound but the only difference between him and someone doing this for fraudulent personal gain is intent..
I want to offer an opinion about the price point for these phones. Working in the heart of an international company (the third largest in our industry) I am of the opinion that the $600 price point has no relation to the people that commit fraud to get new phones for whatever reason. The price of the phone is $600 because that's what the brilliant business analysts at Sprint, HTC, or whatever consulting group they contracted told Sprint is the sweet spot between profitability and perceived value in the consumers mind, coupled with the subsidized price of $200 with a 24 mo contract. They could sell these phones for $300 and make a diminished profit, or they could sell them for $800 a pop but end up selling half as many.
The price points are built to take a predictable percentage of fraudulent claims in to account. I AM NOT ADVOCATING FRAUD!! I am only suggesting that if no one committed fraud and got free phones or kept "lost or stolen" replacements for WiFi enabled backups.. the price would still be $600. The difference is Sprint, HTC and Asurion would make a greater profit margin.
Again, I am NOT ADVOCATIN FRAUD. If you are a thief then you don't deserve to own an EVO. But I'm tired of seeing people drop the "you are the reason this is so expensive for me" line. It's just not true. It would be more accurate to say "people like you are why Dan Hesse's kid has to settle for a Gallardo when he really wanted a McLaren F1". I do not feel sorry for Dan's kids.. at all.
it likely has little to do with the price of the phone but it certainly has to do with the price you have to pay azurian for the replacement.
while you may not be selling it reporting it lost/stolen is still fraud(as it is not lost or stolen and you are reporting it that way specifically with the intent to keep the existing phone). i wont judge just saying fraud is fraud at least accept the facts.
I also wouldnt be posting your intent to fraud on a public forum but that's just me. chances are nothing will ever happen but if you are the one sucker they catch they can easily track the post back.

Just put it in airplane mode and make sure GPS is off and I think you should be fine but pulling the battery would be the safest. Tell them its at the bottom of the lake. Then they would have zero reason to even attempt to try and do a locate on it or anything.
Take the battery out. If you can use a app to take pics from the internet I'm sure they can turn location on or find it with it turned off. My 2 cents.

Hey guys,
I finally made it over to the Nexus from Sprint. I did it thru amazon and saved 200 bucks... its a no brainer. None the less, I have a few questions about the Nexus Forums.
I see there is a section for CDMA development, but when I have a general question about the nexus, it would pertain to both the CDMA and non-CDMA models right? As in the phones are the same, minus the type of radio they use? So say I want a screen protector, it would work for both models and not just Verizons model.
Im going to get an extended battery, the Verizon one seems to be where its at, no? I didnt see it on their website, whats the price? Does the ebay TPU cases work with the extended batteries?
I now know about the signal issues, just to clarify, if I have a "bad" one the signal will drop out even in a good solid 4g area right? My fiance and I just went to verizon, and she went with the razr. So I would be able to use her phone as a comparison for what speeds I "should" be getting.
Anything else to look out for?
Cant wait fellas...
Screen protectors will work for both phones.
The extended batteries are specific. For the LTE version the extended battery is a must IMO.
A lot of TPU cases such as the androidified ones are compatible with the cdma extended battery.
Never had signal issues, it will depend on your area. Also, the update coming soon is rumored to address this with a new radio
Congrats on the new phone.

Thanks. I picked up screen protectors, Diztronics TPU and Im trying to find the 25 dollar verizon battery deal. I think its been over for a bit now..
Amazon has the battery or $35. It was $28 the other day...I think Verizon is sold out.

For questions, the general forum has GSM and CDMA together as most things pertain to both devices. The only separated section is development.
If your phone is keeping a 4G signal and you are surfing the web without it constantly losing signal then coming back on your phone should be fine. If your wife's Razr has a better signal or might pick up 4G in area's where you cannot, that is just the phone and not a defect.

If you can handle the *slight* inconvenience, a solution I'm currently using is actually two standard OEM batteries. For $29.99 you can actually get the standard battery, external charger, and Y-Cable to charge both the battery and your phone at the same time. I chose this option over the extended battery because from what I've read the extended doesn't add that much juice, plus I wanted to continue to use my regular accessories. So basically now when I run out of juice on one battery, I pop the other in and let the other charge. It's actually been really convenient because it only takes roughly 2-3 hours to charge to extra battery, and the fastest I've drained my phone was around 4-5 hours.
Welcome to the Galaxy Nexus and Verizon!
EDIT: Here's a link to the product I'm talking about. It's $39.99 online, but you can get it for $29.99 in store.

Believe me, most of us love our devices. Even I do, despite having to have my screen fixed for discoloration and banding issues. But people are more likely to post issues than compliments. Not to say there aren't issues, or that they are necessarily isolated. But I think with time you'll realize you made a great choice, especially if you keep up with the dev community.
True, dont get me wrong I hate sense, I dont use it. But if I cant use the phone because the data drops and the phone calls dont stay connected WTF? lol sure I should have realized that before but soooo many people pushed the GNEX. Yeah very easily persuaded. I'll see how it pans out.
To be honest I don't have issue with data service or any of that. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. I came from sprint also so maybe I just feel spoiled from the super fast data speeds I get now compared to sprint. I used to roam internationally with sprint at my house and now I get good 4g service at home. I didn't even have 4g from sprint where I live. But my gnex is really good to me.

I believe Amazon gives you 30 days for an exchange. That is more then enough time to figure out if the device works for you or not. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if we see an update within the next 30 days.
Oh, I haven't had a dropped call yet so not sure about that one either. My defective Gnex didn't even drop a call.
Thanks eman. Yeah amazon is 30 days on the replacement. Now let me ask you this. say the phone I get tomorrow is bad, I'll replace it say in 7 days. When the next one comes do I have around 23 days left, or does the 30 days start again? And Im talking about the replacement phone, say its bad do I get another 30 days for that one too?

lol, if you go through that many phones in 30 days, you might want to go with something else...
When I received my replacement I actually asked this same question. They told me I had 30 days from the date of the replacement. If I were you I would call Amazon and just confirm that with them. I wasn't worried because I still had a lot of time within my first 30 days anyway.
If my 2nd phone would have been bad, not sure what I would have done as no other phone on Verizon really interested me.

In my opinion and experience on forums, you will generally hear more people stating issues than those praising their phone. You will also have those that are NEVER satisfied. I would take what you read on a forum with a grain of salt and simply try what works best for you and make your own determination. Opinions on any device, or any tech, will vary depending upon location (with regards to signal), the person, their past and present expereinces, and so on.
That said, I read a lot throughout various forums of people complaining about their signal compared to the Thunderbolt and how the TB carried a better signal than the GNex. Im my experience, my GNEX would show fewer bars but have higher UL/DL speeds and a far better signal in general. For example, where my TB would show 4 bars 3G, my GNEX would show 1 bar 3g. However, my UL/DL speeds on my Genx were far better. You cant really compare signal when dealing with two seperate manufacturers radios either, and Im sure most will say that either im lying about my speeds or lucky. Im in the DC area if that matters. Im just stating my experience.
I will say that while I dont have dropped calls with the Nexus, I do at times have issues connecting to a call after hanging up on another call. This was never an issue on any other phone I had.
That said, while there are some issues I have personally with the phone at times, the pros outweight the cons to me. I love this phone and to me, its the best I've owned.
Also, my wife and I came from Sprint, her a little later than me. I had the Evo, went to the Thunderbolt. I also had the Razor and Rezound for about a week and flipped them while keeping my Nexus. My biggest dissapointment with this phone between all Ive owned is the speaker, but its not a huge deal to me anymore...I use a jambox for that now.
Cool bro I'm in Pasadena MD and work in DC. So hopefully I wont have any issues.
Ok so I'm sick and tired of dealing with sprint's pathetic excuse for "3g" speeds. And using 3 year old phone technology (lg optimus).
I've been a part of the android club since the G1 and my biggest gripe has always been the lack of hardware acceleration. Finally I thought, a phone that does this! But everyone is saying there are screen problems...and it's not as snappy as they wish it were.
Are the issues really as bad as some make it out to be? Or are these just people who like to complain for the sake of complaining? If I do order one what should I make sure to check...and how long do you have to send it back?
Really want to click the "order" button on google play...someone convince me!! I was waiting to see what the SGIII was going to be priced at...but I know it'll be way way more. I don't really like the idea of spending more than $400 on a phone.
Nobody can decide for you. If it doesn't work out, return it. You also have a 1-yr warranty for showstopping issues.
Every electronic device has potential issues. Mine has been flawless for months...and I'm not alone.
Regardless of what phone you order there is always the possibility of recieving a device with faulty hardware. In that case you can return it for a new one.
I can't really convince you either way. I love my Nexus, and haven't really had any issues with it. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who asks. SGS3 could turn out to be great, but if you are looking to spend a little less and want something now I'd go for it.

I do want it! Not looking for someone to decide for me...just hoping the issues aren't as widespread as some say. Seems like almost every experience I've read people have had to send the phone back 2-3 times to get a good one.
Kinda crazy for something that's been in production for 6 months now no?
I like mine. You could go to a Verizon store and check the screen out. The biggest gripe people have is on a grey background on low brightness there can be a grainy appearance. Meh. Don't get it if you care but honestly I don't
I haven't had any other hardware issues.

I highly doubt the Galaxy Nexus has any more or less hardware variability or faults than any other phone. People just like to complain, and the minority with issues are ALWAYS more vocal than the people who are happy.

Okay you convinced me
So what's the process for using this phone with tmobile's $30/month plan? I order it online and then take it into any walmart?
Yes, every phone does have it's faults, but the Galaxy Nexus' screen issues is very prominent in so many of these devices that it's ridiculous. And I can tell you firsthand that it is not just for the sake of complaining, a lot of these screens are terrible. I'm waiting on my 3rd Nexus to come in on Wednesday and hopefully there is nothing wrong with it. But I've read countless stories about how many people had to exchange their Nexus 7 or 8 times before they got 1 without problems. But I'm just informing from experience / reading.
Aside from the faulty screens I've gotten, I LOVE this phone. It's amazing and I would definitely recommend you to order this. If you do get 1 with a faulty screen simply exchange it. Everything about this phone is great and for me the Nexus line is the only way to go now.
Not even every phone but almost EVERY device that is made whether it is a radio, television, mouse, speakers, etc. There is a chance of defect. What matters the most is whether or not they will send you a replacement in a timely fashion without question.

Buy this: http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-phone/T-Mobile-Prepaid-SIM-Activation-Kit
When it arrives, activate it here: http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-activate
Put it in your phone.
DON'T go into a store. Its an "online only" plan. Call customer service if you need to port a number.
I strongly suggest that you read the Prepaid thread and specific $30 month thread before trying it out. There are some asterisks and fine print when it comes to prepaid. I personally am running this plan and love it. I just recommend you know what you're getting into before signing up.

Thanks. I'm reading that thread now...but I've read several pages and don't see any hidden negatives...what fine print do you speak of? Besides the 100 minutes I don't see any issues...I mostly just want the data speeds! I know about the 5GB cap if that's what you mean...if not, please explain?

Remember the cdma version seems to have the problems while the GSM version really doesn't. So if you're going for T-Mobile then you don't have too much to worry about.

You don't get roaming, you don't get good customer service, you don't get free nights/weekends/mobile to mobile minutes, your service shuts off on the 30th day of your service if you don't refill. Things like that.
That being said its still the best deal in wireless if you don't need many minutes. I mean I still use it . The pros heavily outweigh the cons.

Congrats, you won't regret it, awesome device I'm one of the people that likes this phone. Best damn device I ever held in my hands, once you root it and start flashing (If you're into that), you'll see that the experience will be even better. Enjoy.
If you want you can also try getting the SIM at your local T-Mobile store, to avoid waiting for shipping(I'm sure you'll get the Gnex quicker), rep should give you one. I would anyway..
Thanks everyone. Do you guys use a case/screen protector on yours? Or just never let it out of your hands?
It has curved glass so do screen protectors work as well?

Personal preference really, there's a bunch of threads around with in depth info regarding SP's and Cases.
Wet apps will always have the best edge cover, but usually might have a minimal orange peel (not all cases). Dry apps on a good quality SP will be crystal clear but might not adhere all the way on edges. My 2cents with personal experience...

I use a zagg screen protector and that's it. I feel the cases take away from it design too much. I bought my GSM gnex back in November from the UK (had it shipped international to the US) and I cannot complain about one thing. Screen has been perfect . This is absolutely the best android phone ive ever used by far. You will not regret your purchase in the least bit. Have fun with it, and welcome to the family!
Edit; also if you have any questions when you receive it, don't hesitate to ask or pm
