Have you seen the Atrix laptop dock? I can't post a link. So, go to Engadget, search for Atrix, and watch the video they posted today.
Would you be interested in such a thing for your Evo?
I wonder if it's even possible. Beyond the technical details, Motorola might have a patent on the idea.
No joke, I have been telling the guys at my work since I got my Hero over a year ago that we should make a phone dock, and they kept telling me nobody would ever use it. Well, obviously I disagreed and so do people here. Anyway, check out this thread [here], and more specifically this post [here].

I got laughed at until I had someone make a quick CG video of what could be done with my dock. After that it was "when, where, how much". The Motorola dock is just the tip of the iceberg of my intended design.
I really like where this is going... Any laptop shell that will compete with Moto should have the host phone act as the trackpad/mouse in front, not back... HDMI in needs to be a tablet feature as well! NC2 i'm looking at you!!
I would would have bought this thing the same day I bought my Eva. Pls HTC, make something incredible.

That is the SAME exact thing I was thinking when I saw the Atrix, it's so awkward on the back and would be AMAZING as a multi-touch mousepad...
I also wonder if Motorola has a patent over this, I tried doing some research and I think a different company holds the patent to this kind of technology, even though the patent terms were very broad.
I really hope not, I am looking forward to see how competitors create similar accessories.
I would love to also see a tablet shell... because realistically I will never need both my phone and a tablet.
I can't imagine the Atrix webtop thing ever taking off. If you're gonna bring something the size of a laptop around with you that costs 500 bucks, you might as well buy and actual laptop that costs 500 bucks. The only thing that's cool is their desktop cradle thing, but again, desktops can be had for so cheap that do FAR more than moto's webtop does. It'll never catch on.
Maybe a mod using the Cr-48 notebook its about the same size we need a Dev to Hack it and maybe get it to Mirror the Phone then if we have someone make a custom cradle to attach to it. IMO
No way I would buy one for $500 though, I'd much rather buy a laptop for that price.
$500 plus the cost of the phone would be like over $700!
Why not just buy a sick netbook for 299.99 lol, wouldn't it do more?

Everything is more expensive than it should at the beginning of a trend. Eventually, prices do go down and become affordable. This new concept is no different. I think that within the next 6 months these webtops will be as affordable as netbooks.
I thought the Atrix price point was a bit wishful as well...
That price point makes things very unpractical. I have an ipad 1 now. Got it for $200 bucks from a buddy because he just NEEDED to get the ipad2 so I am perfectly happy in the tablet department. Rooted evo with tether makes it easy to get files to my jailbroken ipad
yea.. honestly that atrix lapdock is expensive for what it does. and with the evo still not having full hdmi out on the device out of the box, i don't see it happening. and the ports on our phones would make it hard to make a lapdock in a good size as our fone would have to sit straight up if it were on the back, if it were up front, it would have to mount on the side or something and wouldn't be able to use the screen as a mouse pad.
seems like it would be cool. but i don't think it'll ever happen til the next evo after the 3d.
A laptop dock will NEVER make sense. Just get a netbook or laptop, which you probably already have.
What might make sense is a "desktop mode" that switches on as soon as you connect it to a stand alone monitor. No dock needed. They just want to make a few extra bucks by selling you a dock.
I'm thinking about getting the asus eee pad transformer when it hit the U.S,.

I must disagree here. I would love to have access to all my music, documents, programs, etc. at all times. I realize that you basically cam on your phone but sometimes it gets annoying having to type with my thumbs, or show pics/movies to my friends at 3.5 size.

There are a couple of threads on this out there, but I wanted to make a Poll.
So, right now I'm using my old HTC Hero with CM 6.1, and I love it. Rooting my phone made me fall in love with my smartphone all over again (it's my first smartphone).
So for those of you Sprint people, they told me that I can upgrade right now or when my contract is up, it won't matter: I will get the Evo for $200 with a new contract.
Before we dive in, do you know if this is really the cheapest option from Sprint? I am aware I could probably just buy an Evo from Ebay or something of the sort, but I'm a bit worried about doing that. Anyone has experience getting Evo somewhere else and can share?
I use my phone for a lot of things.. internet, calling, texting, games, even as a flashlight sometimes. I got myself an extra battery for this phone but I assume I will need a new one for the EVO. I see people asked about battery life, but seriously, I don't expect my phone to stay alive for more than 8 hours or so with all these apps running.
Next, what I like about the EVO is the better camera, and the fact that it has flash (I use my phone for pictures). Front facing camera is nice, haven't used it before, is it really worth it? Is chatting with it smooth, or is it slow as sh*t?
Keyboard - I used to hate the touch keyboard because it would freeze for split seconds and writing something would be frustrating. I still find it annoying to use the touch screen for typing because the buttons are so small. I have a feeling the evo would help with that, but perhaps I should wait for something with a real keyboard? Anyone knows of a good model that's suppose to come out, and when?
4G - I live in New York city. Anyone from around here knows if 4G is really available, or it just exists in very specific locations? Is it much faster? How do you like the fact that you can maintain data connection while making a call, is it a big deal? I don't barely actually use my phone for talking. I count on Gchat and texting.
Speed - There are speed issues with my phone right, especially when I run intense apps (angry birds is very choppy, for example, and Pandora can hang the entire system up), does the Evo take care of that?
Size - It's a big phone. To be honest, the weight and the size do not attract me, but I do realize that a bigger screen will be better to work with and might aid with the keyboard issue. Thoughts?
Rooting - How hard is it? I think CM runs on the EVO if memory serves right. I Rooted my Hero so I assume doing it to the EVO would not be much harder. Thoughts?
So yeah, these are some points I'm considering. Should I get it? And is there a cheaper (good!) way to get it?
Thanks for reading!
you posted in evo forum, expect biased answers, that said
you will love an evo! I had a hero first, still do. the batteries are the same,
the keyboard on the hero wasn't very accurate so typing was frustrating, on the evo it is splendid,
rooting is a breeze with unrevoked
no slowdowns at all for any apps, in any situation, I've been downloading while streaming pandora and playing games with no issue,
I highly recommend it, the evo changed the way I think of smartphones
I would wait to the end of march and see what sprint announces
Swyped from my cyanogenized and gingerbreaded EVO
I would wait as well. Some new phones should be coming out shortly

I doubt an Evo 2 will come out anytime soon. So yes. The new phone coming out is most likely the HTC Arrive, which is the HTC 7 Pro. That aside, the Evo is just f*cking awesome. Also for individual line upgrade, Amazon says $180 with free 2-day shipping: http://wireless.amazon.com/dp/B003N9B3CY
CTIA is soon. Sprint announces new phones at CTIA. So I would wait. Unless you want to buy one off contract on Ebay.
WAIT for something better.. This bad ass brick will soon be replaced and become just a plain old acme brick soon
I have a bad feeling Sprint isn't gonna have much this year as far as Android devices go... we will see. An Evo 2 would be bad ass or a dual core Samsung.
Sent from my Evolutionized Evo!
I don't care if Samsung comes out with a quad-core phone. I'm not touching that **** after what happened with the Galaxy S line.
they better come out with something that will at least compete with others phones (like the droid x::evo) otherwise they will have many unhappy customers who cancel and leave... hell they charge $10 for a premium phone now, how premium will the HTC EVO be come this Spring? (I don't want to pay for a "premium phone" when its outdated)
anyways sorry for the semi rant.. im slightly upset with sprint and their actions right now.
CTIA is guaranteed to give us something good. I am hoping for a Galaxy S2 or something equivalent. But then again... Sprint has been known to let you down. Tough call.

You aren't paying $10 for a premium phone. You are paying the $10 for the premium data package, and All smartphones on the sprint network will be paying the exact same fee, its not isolated to the Evo, Shift, or Epic, it will encompass the blackberry's and all other android phones that sprint carries.
On topic of best deals for the EVO, check RadioShack's online wireless store. It's going for $149.99 with free activation on new/upgrade subs. Or in-store, they require a trade-in of any old working phone with a charger to get the $149.99 price (check with your local stores if the deal still available).
IMHO, with all the new phones coming out, I would wait. I love my Evo, but I wouldn't get locked into a new 2-yr sub on a phone that is around 4mos shy of being a year old.
I would wait. EVO is nice but nothing compared to what other carriers are getting (Optimus). Hold out for a dual core device (hopefully from HTC).

I love my Evo. That said I think it would work perfect for everything you listed except for one. The Evo's camera pretty much sucks.
I have a release day Evo, so maybe the newer ones are a little better, but unless the pictures I have taken were in bright daylight they are almost unusable.

Not sure if studentrate still offers $69.99 Evos.
ATM The Evo is the best phone for Sprint. If you want to wait for something better you can. Personally this is the best phone I've ever used. While it is on par or a little worse than some of the newer phones coming out, its been a year and they are finally catching up.
You also have to take into consideration how much longer the Evo is going to stay ahead or on par with these phones. We might be seeing Gingerbread and Sense 2.0 but that might be a long shot.
If you aren't having any issues with your Hero, I'd say stick with it for a few more months. See what comes out.
Thank you everyone, for the honest opinions. I got a lot of info.
Well, it's about a month later now, and I'm still on my HTC Hero. I just found out about the $10 extra, which I will be paying if I upgrade. My girlfriend has a big family plan on T-mobile, and after calculations, it seems I will be saving about $20 a month using a phone under her name, on T-mobile.
Of course, this means I need to ditch Sprint. I don't feel too bad after being on the Network for a year and being charged for extra if I want to upgrade. No serious official updates for their phones either, thank god I rooted mine, the best thing I've ever done to it.
I checked the T-mobile 2G today, and wasn't that impressed. I liked the keyboard, but the specs are not as good as the EVO. By the way, what are these issues I'm hearing about the EVO's camera? it's 8MP, how come it's so bad? I only have 5mp now, and so does the 2G. What are the specific issues you guys are having?
Right now I am going to find out just how much it will cost me to get out of Sprint, and if it's worth it (buying a new phone on T-mobile will cost me $100 extra over an upgrade in Sprint). What are some of the good T-mobile phones you guys think are good? Camera with flash is important to me, and so does screen size - two things I really like about the EVO. I do want a big screen. I would also like a keyboard if possible.
Anything changed in the market? New amazing Spring phones I'm not aware of, or T-Mobile? I am specifically interested in HTC, I'm not a big fan of Samsung or Motorola.

See: http://www.androidcentral.com/sprin...ils-leaked-expect-evo-3d-evo-view-4g-and-xoom
CTIA is this coming Tuesday. Sprint's presentation is hours long. I'd be sure to keep your eye out on here and other tech news sites for what Sprint announces. If that Evo 3D becomes a reality, I'd imagine anyone would want to hold out for that instead of acquiring the Evo now only to have the Evo 3D replace it in months.
Furthremore, if looking into T-Mobile and leaving Sprint (which, as a biased member, I would be against!), keep in mind that at 3:15 PM EDT, a merger between AT&T and T-Mobile was announced, the former acquiring the latter.
I currently have a MT4G with tmobile (and I like the phone...)...but I have wanted a WP7 phone since they came out, but I cannot justify spending 300$ on one .... so I was thinking 'should I get an HD2 and put WP7 on it?' but then I felt that it would be buggy and such and I would like a smooth wp7 experience...
so my question is, what options are there for me (I cannot use an upgrade, I am stuck with tmobile so I need one compatible with them [I guess, right?])...?
Thanks for your advice and help...

You are better off staying with a real WP7 device. The HD2, as good a device as it is, can't provide the whole WP7 experience permanently. You'll have to perjure yourself to get a key from MS to use the main features of WP7. And then, after each update...if the updates actually start coming...you'll have to do it all over again and likely MS will nullify the ability to use their keys.
If you start buying apps with a fake WP7, you might lose them later on. Buy an HD7 from T-Mobile or go to AT&T and snag a Focus. You won't regret it once the updates start happening...if ever. WP7 is a super smooth, super clean experience.

You can try other stores besides the retail store to see if their flexiable with the upgrade period. Wirefly, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Radio Shack, Etc.
You could ask for the factory unlock from T-Mobile. Unlock the MT4G, sell it on Craiglist and use the money to buy the HD7.
You can also go on a payment plan with them and give them $15 bucks a month until you have the money to pay for a new phone.
I'm doing that right now with my HD7, but only because I have the sneaking suspicion some new phones are going to come out to blow the current crop out of the water.

Which is exactly why I'm saving money for one of them. These current gen phones will be "Kin'd" before too long and the good hardware will move it.

Sell your MT4g on ebay and buy the HD7 there also. Even a used MT4g is only a little cheaper than a new HD7. A lot of people are willing to trade on craigslist also.
I really don't know why you guys complain that much. In Brazil I just bought a WP7 (unsupported here yet). And I paid R$ 1.400,00. That is something about U$ 850,00.
My iPhone 4 I've paid R$ 1.800,00. Or U$ 1.125,00.
And yes, If i were you, I would buy a WP7 in a blink.

Well you have to understand, there ARE differences in economy so over here we have different options on pricing....doesn't mean that just because it costs wayy more in other locations that we should be buying them like crazy over here.... we have to think about things like that (at least I do, especially since I am not rich [yet ])...
So I am thinking of possibly getting a samsung focus (but the 3g would not work with tmobile...right?)...or the HD7... but like 'likki' said, phones are continuously upgrading so saving 15-20$ extra a month sounds pretty practical because by the time it is saved up I may not even want to get another phone (haha) or there will be better options out there....
Have you ever tried out a HD7? I think it is too big. The Trophy 7 have a perfect size screen. Not too big, nor too small.
Maybe you should try. I wouldn't buy a Samsung because of the update issues (yeah, they may have fixed, still, it was the only one with problem. I wouldn't risk).
Don't worry about the next season of WP7 handsets. Probably they don't need anything beyond our 1 GHz processor. Not for now. And I think this should last for 2 years of software updates until they need to update the hardware too.
I don't know about US 3G network. But, at least here, my Trophy works with every carrier.
And I liked the "yet" hahahah. That's the spirit! Hell yeah!
any advice? should I get an htc surround and be happy with Edge on tmobile or something? (since it may be cheaper than an HD7 ? idk)
Try ebay...
I got my HTC Surround for 180.00
It looks brand new although it had no box and not original charger. Thing works like a champ. My contract actually is up for renewal in May but i decided not to wait as i could resell it if i did not like it. I'm definately not reselling it. It's awesome!
LG Quantums all over Ebay for 180-200 dollars and they're in my opinion the third best US released device
Dell Venue Pro>Focus>Quantum
I want to like HTC's devices but their battery life is just terrible and the Surround feels like a gag phone.
Surround is pretty terrible all around. If you like big screens and you're on T-Mobile, then you have one really good choice and one decent choice.
TBQH, WP7 is so Cloud dependent that I would not want to be stuck on Edge all the time.
I can't even fathom what that experience would be like.
Edge is for Blackberries, Eseries, and Feature phones...
Ok so I have the opportunity to get the dvp or hd7 for the same price...which one should I get ? The dvp doesnt seem to have as much action in the forum ...it has less ram and no htc apps , plus its a lil bulkier....the screen size doesnt bug me becauase they are similar...
Any ideas please

The DVP's screen is much better. The Speakers are better. The Camera is worse. It has a Physical keybaord (quite a nice one). It sitll has 512 RAM which is more than good enough. It comes in a 16 GB variant and if you're feeling Giddy you can upgrade the storage becasue it has an accessible SD Card Slot.
It tends to have better performance than the HTC phones, as well. The build quality is noticeably better.
There is no such thing as a BB Bold 9800, BTW (that's the Torch). Which Blackberry are you actually selling, asd is it a T-Mobile Branded BB?
Personally, if I was faced with that choice, I'd get the Dell.

DVP over HD7 any day... When you hold both of them you can just tell which one is better at a glance or with use... better performance, better screen, they actually have the same amount of ram, it's just generally one hell of a step up from the HD7 to the DVP.

(damn, why do all the TMobile WP7 devices have to be the ones at $300 and up...??? it is not that worth it to spend even 200 on a phone to just use edge..-i think)
its a tough decision, considering the prices and then considering the functionality / quality as well.... (although it sucks that the current wp7 devices are not very much up to par with these newer phones....namely the 'no FFC' thing bugs me)
I currently have the HTC Surround, and I have had no complaints with it. I do not understand why everyone is hating it. It has amazing speakers, feels very sturdy, 16 glorious gb's of memory, and has the same exact os as all the others. And some may say that the LCD screen is not as brilliant as the focus's AMOLED screen. But I personally like the screen.
In the end, it is up to your personal preferences.
History: I had an Evo then few months ago got the Evo3D.
I had been waiting for this phone since it was announced around Feb 2011. Now I've had it for almost 2 weeks and with the 15 day return policy I have 2 more days to keep it return. I still have my E3D and I paid $499 for this phone.
Decision Time:
Pro's:
Screen resolution, smooth scrolling, cool camera 8/10, 16GB internal plus SD, slim and light
Con's:
No NFC, touch screen not as responsive, screen size requires mostly both hands to navigate, USB pluged on computer doesn't show up (only way I found to access my GB is wifi kies), keyboard lag as I'm typing right now. I'm sure an update will fix most of the problems.
Now, Im big on tech yet I feel this phone or another phone should feed my tech thirst for atleast 6months, with no nfc I feel like I paid $499 for sexiness and looks. Had this phone NFC no doubt I wouldn't consider returning this hotness. I read ATT and Tmobile version will have nfc kinda bummer.
I'm really looking forward to using google wallet, bust out my phone type my pin and transaction paid, no CC... My delema is IF I return this, is there any other sexy phones coming to sprint equiped with NFC (nexus prime). I dont mind holding back until November bur doesnt look like anything is popping.
Totally confused, any opinions suggestions?
I don't have this phone, but looking at your cons, I would return it.

Evo3D doesn't have NFC either. I personally don't see any of the problems you're suffering from. My computer recognizes my phone fine, and I can transfer files to and from it, or it's SD card without using Kies. I have yet to experience keyboard lag (though I switched the keyboard because I hate swype). I also don't have a problem navigating it with one had, but that's definitely based on your hands and preference. I've also never had my touch screen not be responsive.
I had the 3D before the Epic Touch and I'm still somewhat on the fence about trading it back out for an Evo3D again. I love this phone, but I loved other things about the 3D (including the HUGE dev following it has). I'll likely end up keeping the Epic though, because I do feel it's substantially faster, and I like the bigger screen.

I want to get a new phone, if I return this and willing to wait until this holiday season, what should I get or hold out on? Dont get me wrong this phone is nice. BIG plus for 16GB internal memory and Im sure most cons will be fixed with an update (too much buzz and drama for sprint and samsung to ignore).
Again if you had the choice to get this or Anything else coming out this holiday season... ????

Not sure on a release date and I would also bet money that Verizon will probably get it first since don't have the gsII

I'd keep it. Worse case you can sell it on eBay or Craigslist and pick up the prime when it comes out.

But I would go and exchange yours because the screen shouldn't be giving you touch response issues.

Nobody knows if the Nexus Prime will even come to Sprint. This phone is king right now so I don't know what your problem is. Splitting hairs a little too much maybe? Nothig will ever be perfect for some people. No offense. 3 months after the Prime comes out something else will be better then people will complain about that.
But if you're that unhappy stick to your E3D and return this one.

Sprint No NFC
ATT & Tmobile Yes NFC
Verizon nexus prime Yes NFC
NFC will rule by end of the year
NFC really? Not that big a deal right now very and I mean very few places even use it yet. Future proof sure but for the next year you'd be fine NFC lol. It will be great when it gets more mainstream. As for screen I haven't seen any screen lag either. Keyboard try another keyboard. USB plug works on PC and MAC just fine, got drivers?
pretty sure the prime isn't going to have the Exynos processor. I think the prime is going to basically be the samsung hercules for sprint with the 1.5 ghz qualcomm processor. An inferior processor. I'll see you when I'm running kernels and roms months from now trying to break the 5500 mark barrier and beyond on quadrant overclocked. This thing is raw power in the nicest package you can get it in. U want NFC go at&t and lose the screen. Sounds like you don't like the extra real estate anyways. The prime is gonna be the same screen.
Rumors say 1.5 ghz ti omap 4460.. So we don't know how good the processor will be.. And from what I read that processor was delayed until early 2012 so wit the tell knows what the prime will have now

There are only 150,000 locations across the entire continental United States that currently accept NFC. You do know that we don't even have the resources to install the NFC receivers even if there was demand within years yet alone a year right? NFC if it became very popular and essential for business's due to demands would take years to become widespread. At least 3 years at the very earliest. Well outside of everyone's plan agreements. I even expect a very slow start due to peoples comfort with credit card transactions and initial worry about possible security liabilities amongst the general public.
You need to enable USB Debugging if you want to be able to view the phone to show up as a USB Drive. I'm not sure about the keyboard lag and the screen has been plenty responsive for me though it's not the most responsive screen ever which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

From what I gather the Exynos set up with it's GPU won't be matched by the 4460. The Exynos will out process the 4460 across the board. Also I read that samsung is forced to use the 4460 because it supports 42 + HSPA for t-mobile and the like. It's a weaker processor set up that supports a special kind of wireless connectivity is why samsung is forced to use it. If I'm not mistaken it will be in the t-mobile variant of the GS II so we'll have benchmarks within a matter of weeks. Now mind you, t-mobile was the only carrier not to allow access to their phone at the samsung press event. I would gather it's because their phone benchmarks lower than the sprint and att versions.

I want NFC myself, but you're kidding youself if you think NFC will become even popular within the next 2-3 years. I give it 5 years before it becomes kind of mainstream. Even paypass isn't full deployed yet and it has been around for more than 10 years.
The list of things this device doesnt have keeps getting longer. I could deal with the old tech resolution, no NFC... Yeah that sucks, but whatever. It's still pretty early in that game anyhow. But the thing that bugs me most is that it's looking more and more like no Rev B when Sprint upgrades its 3G network. Would have at least let the wife keep mine, but not now. Sending it back. If it turns out later the device supports Rev B and the Prime doesnt come or isn't what it's hyped up to be, I might consider picking up another GSII.
Considering this month we have some nice phones being released on Verizon, I would suspect many of you will be upgrading to something new.
What will you be doing with your Incredible? Trading or selling? If so, what did it go for and by what means?

I have to keep mine for a bit unless I buy the Rezound outright (which I'm sure is going to happen ), but I think I'm going to just keep it for sentimental reasons even when replaced. This Dinc is my first foray into the smartphone world.
The phone is giving me no true reason to replace it either. It just keeps doing what it is supposed to do/needed.
I totally understand as my Inc is my first smartphone as well. I just need a a phone with a bigger screen and headphones will be nice too .
I have an AMOLED and my gf has an LCD Inc so I'm sure one of them will be sold. Just not sure how much and where to sell.
Sent from my Inc HD
there's a marketplace right here on xda where you can probably get a fair deal from this community
I read the Incredible still has a value of anywhere from $50-100...AMOLED versions at least~ Don't quote me
Samsung Omnia was my first smartphone....garbage, and then this came and blew everything away.
I will be keeping my AMOLED Incredible, especially since Samsung did a huge Music Video on its AMOLED technology, so I can sport that haha - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EirK6cD-s0c&feature=related
Unless they have some breakthroughs in battery technology with these new phones, I refuse to be easily swooned into switching. With light/medium usage, I'm getting 1-2 days of battery life, and considering the Incredible can still run every single app/game that I personally want to use flawlessly, I desire battery life over other stats.
When that sad day comes, I'll probably either sell it, give it to my wife if she wants it, or keep it to play with.
I feel no great need to switch. My phone works great.
Sure the other things sound good, but mine works exactly the way I want it to. Then again, every phone I have had I have had for longer than the average phone user because I do not like switching them.
It better be going for a couple years you get it.
-Dual core? I don't need no stinking dual core!-
I can't wait to upgrade come January (when my upgrade is). Not that I don't love my inc, but getting a front-facing camera, higher resolution screen, better CPU, more RAM is all very appealing to me. Probably going with the Galaxy Nexus, but with the way VZW has been playing with us, who knows when it will actually be released here
EDIT: Never actually answered the OP's question. I'll probably be selling it whether here on XDA, Swappa, or ebay. I have an AMOLED Inc in great condition (been kept in a case for its whole life) and a 1500 mah HTC battery. I hope to get somewhere around $125 for it, I think it's worth it.
I had an OG Droid--but it's lacking in RAM. It seems like it gets slower every day.
I didn't want to spend money on buying a Galaxy Nexus at full retail, (my phone upgrade isn't available until April).
So, I bought a used Droid Inc--rooted it, installed Condemned on it, and love it. This is a nice phone.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I'll probably give it to my sister or mom when I get a new phone. Who knows?
As long as it runs my tower defense games and functions as a great music storage and auto monitor I'm keeping it.... Will just keep the new phone in the pocket.
I'm on Page+ so probably won't be upgrading for a bit.....it's my first HTC phone and I love it.
I'm definitely keeping it as a really good audiogalaxy, google music streaming mp3 player with the wifionly script running for at work. Why not and it will help the battery on my new phone by not using it to stream music.
Keeping mine for now as well. They are selling at a decent price though, used incredibles selling for 100$+ on eBay.
There is a 2nd generation LTE chip coming out soon, I'll be waiting for that. Suppose to fix the battery life issue in the current generation chips.
Although the specs of the current phones are impressive, the fact that Rezound and Razr are locked, AND the fact that the GNEX, Rezound, Razr all have bad battery life compared to the HTC INC are all reasons why I'm not in a rush to toss my trusty incredible out just yet.
And yea I haven't found an app or game that runs poorly on my modified incredible, and there's no 4G here either, so honestly no reason at all for me to switch.
The day is coming though, just waiting for the right phone.
My DINC is turning into an MP3 player and scapegoat for development
I would love to keep my incredible, but could probably use the money. We still have an android printer tablet and two hp Touchpads.
BTW is it true that if your phone dies and you activate a dumb phone to get you by you could lose your unlimited plan?

that sounds about right, because if you activate a dumbphone it automatically removes the data plans since dumbphones don't run on those data plans.
Once it's removed it can never be readded.
adding a 32gb sd and keeping it as a wifi tethered navigation and music player.

Well I have an EnV setup on one of my lines with Unlimited Data from last year (i think..it was awhile ago) but keep in mind that phone doesn't use the same data package as our Inc.
I called today to get my sister-in-law's phone activated on that very same line and it will indeed have unlimited data. The key is to use one of those not too dumb phones lol.

That isn't accurate. I broke the screen on my incredible and used an old LG chocolate for a bit while I waited for parts to fix it. Obviously didn't have data on that phone but retained unlimited data when I reactivated my incredible. Just have to call and talk to them, I think you have up to 30 days to reactivate a device that can use your unlimited data plan.
