[Q][Need help]Cannot mount sdcard - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. I have this problem with my inc.
Whenever i plug in my usb cord to a computer, my phone does not notify me about debugging or usb mounting. Is this a hardware problem or a software problem? My phone charges fine when pluggin in to the wall charger or a computer. Im currently running CM6.1 stable, tiamat's kernel, and my gingerbread theme. I do not recall when this started to happen, but i really need some help. Thanks in advance!

Ok back up the sdcard on the computer Like just put all the files somewhere
Then go to start/computer then right click the sd card click format and make sure click format isnt selected. After thats done put everything back on it.
Now since i wrote that i hope you have a micro sdcard adapter lol

Wireless?
Perhaps try Wireless ADB from the market and see if issue persists?
Similarly, I have used SwiFTP for many months to move files to/from PC.
As such, haven't had to connect USB cable from device to PC in quite a while.
ymmv

Nope. Nvm. Did some research and it was tiamat's 2.2.1 kernel that messed up my drivers on my phone

What rom? Have you tried a battery pull? Have you tried putting the card into a card reader on a computer?
Stupid question here from my part but do you have the phone hooked via usb to a computer while you are doing this?
No I haven't tried hooking the sdcard up to computer yet . And I'm running mikfroyo 4.4

Mount the SD card in your PC and run chkdsk. Worked for me a couple of times. If you're seeing corruption, you may have a bad card. I had a Wintec 32GB card that I returned because it kept corrupting.

HELP Pls

i attempted to root my phone thats running froyo using the How-To [Root] The myTouch 3GS if you updated to Offical 2.2.1 and lost root method....needless to say it didnt work for me and was in a bootloop (Hboot said the bootloader was bypassed when trying to update) so what i did afterwards was batt pull and did a hard reset-clear storage and everything went back to normal so i hooked my phone to pc and attempted to try the process again but not the pc doesn't reconize the phone using usb and when i unplug the phone from usb it ALWAYS reboots... also the phone is not reading my sd card(sd card is fine i put it in my card reader and all files are still on there) any help?
as a side note to all who jus peeked at the thread.....when i connect the the phone to pc via usb i only have the sync and charge option...crazy thing is it still works running 2.1update jus no access to sd..so at least its not bricked right????
As a starting point I would suggest you save all the important files from your sd card onto your pc and then reformat the card on the phone(if it allows it) or using sd formatter or other software on your pc.

tried that already its like the phone is not reading the card or pc i used an adaptor to format the card in FAT32 and had the same issue.. but the phone still works fine...any other ideas?
You can try going into recovery using Droid explorer (pc software) and see if you might be able to mount the sd card that way.
In addition, you might need to reinstall the drivers for your phone on the computer, if I'm not mistaken installing HTC sync on your computer should take care of the drivers for you.

Download the rom on your pc, connect the phone to the c via usb cable, on the phone select mount as disk drive, it'll pop up on your pc, drag it over, unmount / disconnect, reboot into recovery, do all the wipes I listed previously [dalvik cache is located under advanced] then install zip > select and flash, reboot.

SD Card Broken?

So i have no idea how it happened but my sd card went crazy on me. I was just using my phone and then I clicked on an app that i had on my sd card and said that it couldnt be found, then it said that i had a blank sd card and that it needed to be formatted. I tried everything; pulling the battery, mounting, remounting, putting it in and out, tried to mount in recovery, tried to format in recovery...... NOTHING WORKED! So then i tried to plug it in on my computer (windows 7) and it wouldnt mount, so i couldnt format it.... Is there ANYTHING I can do!?!?!!?!? someone please help me cause it is a 16gb sd card and all i have left is a 2gb one... HA that wont work for me. Any help is appreciated!!

Pull sd out of phone and use a card reader to see if it can be read from the pc. If you can read it with the pc, copy all your files to the pc and then format the sd fat32. Once formated put the files back on the sd and put it back in the phone and see if it works then.

have you ever pulled the SD card out of a device before Unmounted it? Sounds like the the chip inside is dead. There are some places that you can take it to and they can pull the info off of it. its not cheap but they do exist. It all depends on if you really want the info off of it or not.
Have you tried "SD Card Tester" from the Market, Or H2testw 1.4 for the PC?

[Q] Computer wont read HTC evo or give usb option on phone

Up until last week my phone would read fine on the computer, my evo has been flashed to metro fully working for sometime up until i just recently changed my number now my web or picture messages will not work. I cant get computer to recognize the phone. I have done a full restore on phone etc and tried to go into DM command mode yet nothing!! The same usb cord i use now was the one i used to program the phone anyone with same problem that found solutions?
Take out your sdcard and put it into a computer. Run check disk on it or format it and see if it fixes it. I had problems with corrupt data on mine and formatted it to fix it.

Yeah you can format it through recovery, just make sure you have backed up your SD card contents.

I have had both a bad SD card and a bad data cable.
I went to using a known good data cable and a known good SD card.
Haven't had to look back.
