02 shops now selling the Orbit.

Just got one from Worcester O2 free on the £35 month constract.
Very happy - looks the biz - the RollR aint the bad that everyone is talking about and I have WIFI!
Even comes with MSN messenger.
Wehay - one happy bunny.
Gotta wait for my PAC from orange now so need to SIM unlock it....any ideas?
I've just bought it for 50 pounds plus 35 pounds/mth with 400mins and 500 texts, free weekends, 12mths .
but note there is NO GPS software and you have to buy copilot separately at an additional 50 pounds depending on your tariff.
I love it. It looks great and the track ball and dial work really nicely as opposed to some of the comments I've recently read.
Apps don't have the extra close button as seen on the HTC version
HTC close button
what is the @extra close button found on HTC devices'?
does it shut down apps instead of minimising them?
yes apparently some of them have such a button.
however, the orbit has a plugin on the today screen for Shutting down apps and a also a Shortcut bar.
this is to the two posters who say they have the orbit.
i was wondering did you buy from a store direct? or online? because i cant seem to find it online. and it still comes up under the coming soon section of the website.

Do you mean that the GPS function is unuseable unless you buy other software. I don't want in-car stuff, just to be able to enter some waypoints and for the Orbit to point me towards them and tell me how fast I'm getting there - will it do this out of the box
Thanks
Mike
just come of the phone from o2 online, they're saying it'll be another couple of days. going into town to see if the shops got one.
O2 Shop Nottingham
I got mine from O2 Shop in Nottingham near the Victoria Centre, £50 on O2 400 / 12 Months.
Already installed TomTom 5 which I bought for my XDA iis, works fantastically well!

Sadly there's no software at all, but the chipset is fully functinal and you can probably download some free/cheap apps for your requirements.

Free cases for Londoners

Hey all,
If you are in London, head over to the Samsung Mobile Pins or Samsung Galaxy studios for a free limited edition olympic flip cover.
They are the standard official white samsung flip covers (that replace the backcover) but with a nice olympic/London design.
Ask nicely and you may have to do a few tasks (like drawing on a Galaxy Note).
From the top of my head, MObile Pins/Studios are in Westfield-Shepherd's Bush, Broadgate, Old Spitafields Market, N1 shopping centre, Westfield-Stratford, St Pancras Station, One New Exchange, Stratford International and maybe a few other places that I forget.
I don't know about the availability of the covers. I managed to get one at Stratford International station.
Good luck

I just popped down to Westfield and they do not do them there. When i asked they said its only if you buy the phone.
Thanks for the info.
Can anyone confirm this? I could go to St Pancreas after work, and I'd love a case, but hate to miss my train if they don't have any.

You need to go to the Mobile Pin NOT THE STORE.
As long as you have the Galaxy S3 to show them, you can get it from the places that I mentioned.
My brother and another friend also received them.

anyway to get this without having to activate in store?
I have ran into that before and I just called another local store and they were willing to sell with no activation. It seemed like all the stores near me were willing to sell it outright except the one that is actually closest to my home.
going to give that a try. I bought one from amazon on Friday for $92 + tax to use as a mp3 player but this is a much better deal.

Buy it online?
[edit] I'd guess they'd have a hard time making you activate with Xmas a couple days away... you know, the gift giving season?

I told them it was a gift and we would activate on-line. No problemo.

FINALLY got mine today. They were out at my local store and had to get it delivered from another store. So, when I picked it up today, I also noticed they were back to regular price, $149!!! WOOOT! Mama FINALLY got a deal!

Why don't you use it? Too slow or something?
I'm a big Swappa supporter now, bought my N5 and sold my s3 on there. Very easy and no ebay fees, just a flat $10 charge per transaction.
Those who said swappa I'll agree with. However, I would also suggest Amazon. When shipping and all fees are factored in, I find it's only slightly more costly than swappa. Additionally, there is much more visibility there. If it was me I'd probably post both places. Heck, I'm actually doing that for a couple of phones right now.

You can buy this beast almost anywhere from physical shop such as SenQ, Harvey Norman, Huawei center or thru online store such as Lazada, Street11 or shoppee.
Buy it online. Lazada or Shopee.. They throw in free gifts too.
Bought it from Lazada for 3199 and got it with quite a few freebies.. M-pen, JBL BT earset, Huawei BT Speaker etc etc..
