anyway to get this without having to activate in store?

I have ran into that before and I just called another local store and they were willing to sell with no activation. It seemed like all the stores near me were willing to sell it outright except the one that is actually closest to my home.

going to give that a try. I bought one from amazon on Friday for $92 + tax to use as a mp3 player but this is a much better deal.

Buy it online?
[edit] I'd guess they'd have a hard time making you activate with Xmas a couple days away... you know, the gift giving season?

I told them it was a gift and we would activate on-line. No problemo.

Would this phone have to be flashed to work on a Sprint account?

Sorry, no Sprint support. Check the FW link - only VM and PagePlus...

FINALLY got mine today. They were out at my local store and had to get it delivered from another store. So, when I picked it up today, I also noticed they were back to regular price, $149!!! WOOOT! Mama FINALLY got a deal!

[Q] Coming to London (UK) for one day: Cheapest unlocked in-store option?

Hey guys...
So I'm coming to London for one day tomorrow... and I need to pick up an unlocked Galaxy Nexus. What's my cheapest option for picking one up in a store? Thanks!
Try a Three store, they have the GN on prepay for £499. It should be unlocked but ask the guys in the store to confirm this for you.

Try CEX as well. Grade A (used, but most likely unused due to the recent release) are going for around £450. Includes warranty etc.
Regards
Try vodafone store. They were selling for £425 unlocked sim free. A few members on xda got the deal.
Not sure if they are still doing that. Worth a try

The Vodafone store told me they never sold it unlocked outright. They referred me to Carphone who as it turned out, sells it for 515 GBP (taxes included). That's more than $800. Any place in London selling it for less?

Motorola Atrix lapdock from At&t store.

I was browsing around the store and I asked them if they had any in stock and they said they had one, the employee went to get it and told me the price and I almost fell over, they wanted $299 for it. Then the manager approaches me and says if you buy that today I will give you 10% off.
I thought these were being sold cheaper in the stores, not that high.
Haha, that's Hilarious. I'd start laughing my ass off.
the cheap price was online only, I believe. but people were able to get it at the stores at the low price when they showed proof of online purchase.
or something like that.

I tried to hold back the laughter in front of the manager, I shook my head and said thank you if I need to purchase one of these I will more than likely be doing so online.

I'd laugh at that price too. However, still better than on the Motorola website for $499.99. Unfortunately you can't get it on the AT&T website anymore. I was fortunate to get one when they were selling them for $50. Your best bet is to go with what anothersmith did and get one from all4cellular.

I bought one in the AT&T store about 3 weeks ago. The quoted me $99, and when I asked if there was anything else he could do, the manager took 25% off, for a final price of ~75 + tax. He told me that these docks are collecting dust, and they weren't even sure if they had any to sell when I first asked.
I think if you go to another store, or hit another manager up, you should be able to get a comparable deal. Good luck!
Yeah same here. I bought my in January and it was $99, well after they ran out online. The store was even running a buy one get one half off on all the other Atrix Accessories (excluding the Lapdock unfortunately).

Did you buy your T-Mobile Note II Online or T-Mobile Retail Store?

My online order was recently cancelled by T-Mobile for unknown reasons, possibly due to no stock. It is really frustrating especially after you wait for a week to find out the phone you ordered was on backorder and eventually cancelled. Is it better to wait and purchase online at T-Mobile's website once stocks are available again or should I purchase at the T-Mobile store? Are there any differences I should be looking out for?
Retail Store
I bought my Note 2 at the retail store. I had a similar experience with the first Note, ordered it and found out 3 days later the order was canceled because they were out of stock. In hind sight sort glad it turned out that way, loving my Note 2.

Got mine at the tmobile store. At the time it was same price in store and online. The guy activated my new sim and added the phone to my insurance. Paid full price. I was in and out of the store about 20 minutes....painless
try ordering over the phone.

I bought it from corporate store during promotion and I will get $200 rebate.
What's a corporate store? Is it the same as T-Mobile Retail Store?
Also the promotion you are getting, is that with contract, only?

It's corporate store, not dealer.
Do you remember the $0 promotion from 21-31 last month? This applied to Value Plan only and your contact will be reset.
I remember a promotion like that going on. However, I was inclined into a different plan. Guess, that was the reason why I waited and finally came to know T-Mobile's Online store was out-of-stock. I wouldn't mind paying the full price for the Note II. Would stores be having it ready in stock?

Did you call the number that they gave for questions? I did, and they said that it was not canceled even tho i received the same email, and they said it to be an error. I recently put my order number in and it came up cancelled, but low and behold a few hours later i received an email that my note II has shipped. I would check your CC and see if they charged it. And call in. :good: good luck

Best Buy and Amazon Optimus G $49.99 on Contract

Hey All!
I just checked today and I see that Amazon and Best Buy are both selling the Optimus G for $49.99 on new contracts AND ON UPGRADES!
I have been waiting for this price on upgrades for awhile now... just wish I could get free activation too!
I need a phone so bad and I keep holding out for the HTC One but I may pull the trigger on this deal because I'm desperate and hate the phone I'm using now.
That HTC delay is killing me.

Got mine yesterday. 49.99 plus I signed up for the $50 gift card for a 2 year contract extension that they said they give to anyone that mentions it. They didn't even check or look it up, just had to mention it. I was holding out for the Note2 to come down in price but after some research on the LG I went for it. So far it is an awesome phone and for a total of $3.84 in taxes and sprints $35 activation I think it was a good deal. Anyone want a rooted Evo 3d with Android 4.2.2 pacman rom?

Did you go through best buy then? Darn! I didn't know they were still doing a $50 gift card! I didn't see that on their site anywhere... I purchased through Amazon...
I wonder if there is anyway to get them to match it....

It was Best Buy. Apparently all you'd have to do is mention the $50 and they scan a gift card from behind the register. I asked if he needed to see anything or look up my email and he said no. When I signed up it said in the ad that the coupon lasted all year.
When I got mine it was on sale for 99.00 they gave me a50 gift card and I got the free LG Bluetooth headset, value of 70$. :screwy:

It sucks because I tried to get my upgrade today, a week early, just to get this phone from Best Buy. Tomorrow it goes off sale at Best Buy, and I'm not sure how long it will be $50 on Amazon. If anyone has ordered a phone from Amazon, how is there warranty/protection service with phones. Only reason why I want to get this phone from Best Buy is due to the protection plan.

Best Buy will price match, so if it is still on sale with Amazon when your upgrade is up then just show them Amazon and they will price match.

Yeah, I wonder as well. I think that it's probably an AT&T question though.
Its not actually $200 off, its a guaranteed $200 trade-in for any working phone. Sure, it mathematically comes out the same in the end, but without a phone to trade, you don't get the $200.
It says in there "come back on 10/10 for the trade in", it still works until then.

I'm a bit confused. What are the participating retailers?
Where exactly can we trade in our old smartphones?
does it include blackberry curve as a smartphone? thats my question.
..
Something new on the promotion site from the last time I saw it; Best Buy customers go in-store to redeem instantly. Also in the fine print it states Best Buy customers do not need to submit the form, so it looks like we can get it from Best Buy without the inconvenience of waiting 6-8 weeks for the rebate check.
Can you apply the BB gift card to the note 4 purchase if you are buying it outright?

Best Buy has their own trade in promotion that gives you an instant $200 gift card when buying a Note 4.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/samsung-galaxy-note-4-128435
So I went to Best Buy and asked one of their phone guys, about this. He said that basically you pre-order the phone (if you do it online it has to be for in store pick up, which is not available yet on their website). Then when you come into the store to pick up the phone, you can bring in any other working smart phone. Cannot have damage to it. And they need the battery and charger with it too. They will give you a 200$ credit/gift card. That can be used towards the purchase price of the phone. They will apparently let you buy the phone outright too, which I have had issues, doing with them in the past. But now with the mobile share value plans and Next and all it looks like they may have changed their tune about that finaly.
Interesting thing is that it looks like their price is 25$ cheaper than AT&T.

Wait. Any working phone? Could I get 200 for my old captivate?
Edit: aww... I just saw the details. Kinda a pain.
Thank god I decided to look on XDA before pre ordering!
FYI giftcardgranny.com (or similar site) will give you approximately 90% value of the gift card in cash.
I'm trading in an old 3gs
I have hear 2 different answers from Bestbuy on if the promo can be for off contract purchase or not.
