goto the dialer and dial "##786#" click reset and put your msl in and it will wipe it out. The only thing that the ##786# reset doest that you cannot do in recovery is remove the msid and ptn.

You will have to re flash it all im afraid. Although you could try clearing cache from recovery first. Might clear the pin data.

This is mostly everything I can think of that will give you better 3G
My suggestion:
Back up.
Download all latest radios. Check my sig for a link.
Wipe cache and dalvik.
Flash radio. Reboot. (All reboots will take you back into recovery)
Flash Wimax. Reboot.
Flash PRI. Reboot.
Flash NV. Reboot.
Flash a rooted Sense ROM, based on the Evo (this disqualifies MikG, Director's Cut, Synergy and other Sense 2.1 / 3.0 ROMs, because those are based on the Evo Shift/3D (I've had issues with Shift/3D-based ROMs not reprovisioning data). Update PRL. Reboot.
Go into EPST (Dial ##3282#, Choose edit mode), enter your MSL code (download and use MSL Reader from the Market to get it), Data Profile, hit the menu button and choose restore. Just sit there, your phone will reboot and everything will go back to default. Let it reprovision, but when it says "Updating PRL" hit cancel.
##3282#, enter MSL, Advanced, change both Proxy ports to 0, proxy addresses to 0.0.0.0
Hit menu button, "save changes", back out to home screen and reboot
Wipe everything in recovery three times, flash ROM of choice (clean install)
3G Supercharge if you wish

great info here...
Charles
Im flashing an epic (root, rom, and to cricket from sprint) for a friend of mine and talk work fine but internet is not functioning dispite the 3g symbol being present. when i enter and edit the values (username, ha, etc.) In the ##3282# menu it doesnt reset the phone when through and what ever i changed reverts back to the previous value. I.e., the username remains (customername)@sprint.com. any one have a clue of how to either fix this issue or another way to change the values? Ive tried everything i can think of to no avail. Qpst, cdma workshop, and even tried the multiboot fc09 from the sd. Ive serched this forumas well as several others and cant see3m to find any applicable info.

you need to go back to an older stock rom/modem/kernel combination.. then ##72786# or a ##786# before you start.
the first one wont mess with any "repairs" you may have made previously. but will wipe data settings to factory.
then you should be able to edit those settings at will, and I suggest QPST.

And my advice would be to use stock EC05 (Rom AND modem) or prior. Never had much luck with this sort of project on anything after EC05. Once you're all working, then flash whatever you like. Will need to fix MMS again after flashing a rom.
Hey guys when I updated to the newest cyanogenmod version, I lost my cell signal.. I tried reverting back to 4 different versions but no luck.. I decided to flash back to stock sprint rom to update profile and prl.. Unfortunately I still have no signal (can't make calls, or text).... I'd hope someone could help me outt here.. I've been trying to fix this literally all day long.. Thanks in advance.
##786# on dialer and re activate (Need MSL code)
Then make sure you have MD4 modem before moving to CM
BTW make sure you have data enabled before anything. If data is enabled and still no connection then proceed with the above.

Was it a clean flash back to this ROM? Try clearing the Messaging apk data.
You could also try resetting your apns and a last resort reboot recovery and wipe catch/dalvik before starting over with a clean wipe
