Hi
Is there any RUU with TMobile Austria branding?
I searched the web but can't find anything for the DHD.
Or is there a other way to recover the TMO_AT branding, like flashing the stock rom, change the cid to TMO_ATand hope for OTA? Will this recover the apps from tmobile?
The reason of my question is,that i want to root my phone and its only possible with a downgrade cause i have 1.75 installed. And i didn't read about a way to save the rom before downgrade. Is there one? Want have the possibility to go back.
Hope you can help me.
As soon as you rooted and installed custom recovery, make a backup of your stock rom. Save this backup to your pc or even burn it on cd.
After that you can flash a custom rom.in case of warranty, you cam restore the backup then replace recovery with stock and finally install stock hboot.
Swyped with cyanogenmod 7 powered HTC Desire HD. Excuse typos.
Thanks for reply
But before i can root it and install customrecovery, i have to downgrade my phone cause i hab 1.75 installed. And then there is no chance to backup my TMO Rom. Or am i wrong?
Hi,
Please if someone has a Three UK branded Desire phone could make me a nandroid rom backup? I cant find any stock Three UK rom only old one for AMOLED screen and i have to send back the phone.
Details:
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
Thank you!!Please help me guys!
Nandroid would still be rooted so would still be breaking the warranty. Better to use a stock unbranded RUU tbh

hi
i tried to install the rom but i get a [140] Bootloader version error message.
what can i do?have to downgrade the bootloader?
thx
EDIT: i solved the problem.I had to downgrade the rom and after worked fine.
Thanks for everything!!
hi killerno
can you just clear up, when you got this to work, you had to downgrade the bootloader (not ROM) ?
i have literally just got a new desire from 3, and rooted and did a nandroid backup before putting oxygen 2.0 on it, and when i checked, my backup was gone! currently im not concerned, but obviously if i ever need to send the phone back ill need to do the same as you, and i have tried to install this rom and it failed as well, so just interested as to your exact steps if you dont mind?
thank you in advance
Mikey
Downgrade following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256
Then run the RUU posted on the prevous page
thanks EddyOS
i will give this a go as and when i need to (hopefully never!) as i said, im currently using oxygen with android version 2.3.4 and am pretty happy with it, although i apear to have lost 720p video recording option, but that is no biggy and the only thing i can notice that is missing.
thanks again
720p isn't in Oxygen
yeah i gathered that, any idea why as i though oxygen was gingerbread which supported it? might be wrong, i am a newbie! haha
Cause it's ****
ooooh haha, what do you recommend then oh great one? ;P
Get a decent video camera as using a phone for HD video is a massive fail!!
I barely take photos with my phone - I've a digital camera for that
ahh right, thought you were gonna recommend a different rom, well, i have a HD video camera, but, doesnt quite fit in my pocket like my phone lol. like i said, im not that bothered, just wondered why i had it on my stock 3uk rom, but when going to a newer version (albeit non official) it wasnt in there? i guess it will be added at some stage
HTC push the '720p' capability but Adam decided to remove it from Oxygen as it's not very good. It was just personal choice
As for using a different ROM, there are some which are based on 2.3.4 that have 720p enabled so go have a browse. I just use a basic 2.3.3 Sense ROM I made myself based on the leaked test ROM. It does what I need it to so I'm happy
Hi Everyone
I've just received my Desire back from HTC repair. They've put the original Orange RUU back on my phone, so before I root and start flashing roms again, I'm wondering if there's a way I can extract the Orange rom so people here can use it if they have to return their phone under warranty?
I'm a complete beginner at this stuff though, so if someone wants to help out you'll have to talk me through it step by step!
Someone posted a nandroid backup of the Orange rom. It's an old version but still. I don't see the point though because the WWE RUU from HTC is more up to date anyway. You can post your nandroid backup though.
I know the WWE is more up to date, I'm just thinking an actual Orange RUU would be useful for people who need to return their phone to "out of the box" state if they need to unroot and return their phone.
About 2 weeks ago I needed an Orange UK ruu but had to take my chances with the stock WWE rom, luckily I got away with it but if there's a way we can somehow extract one then that'd be helpful for anyone in the same position.

^ Exactly!
Hold out hope, give it a couple of days and maybe someone else will know what to do.
In the mean time, root your phone and S-OFF (I think you need to S-OFF to create a NAND backup) when you root, flash the RA-recovery 2.0.1 as that can do NAND backups whereas the CWM that comes with unrevoked doesn't.
I would love a Orange UK RUU. I can't find any on the internet so definitely try and get it

Just a quick question before I do that, I thought that if I root then all I'd be able to create is a backup of a rooted rom? Which wouldn't be any good for returning to "out of box state"? Remember, I'm 100% Noob so I may be wrong!
Also, what gets backed up when I do a nand? Shall I perform a factory reset first and then do it? Don't want any of my apps, email, ebay or google account backed up and passed on to everyone who uses my backup! I'm willing to give back to the community but I ain't that generous!

I'm entirely unsure. I think there's a way to unroot afterwards for anyone who uses your backup, and I think, yes, it'd be best to do a factory reset before the NAND (can use titanium for your own backup, though, so you can reinstall after the NAND and be back where you were)
Okay...
I used unrevoked to root. Performed a factory reset. Made up a fake google account so I could download rom manager, installed clockwork mod and created a Nand backup from there.
It's 448 MB in size, is that normal? Seems pretty large! In the backup folder there's something called sd-ext.img that is 130mb and another called data.img at 21mb, will that have saved information about my device or apps? Can I delete them or will that cause problems for anyone using my Nand to restore?
All I'm basically asking is, is my personal info, contacts, photos, sms, emails etc safely clear?
If all is good to go does anyone know a good place to upload and host for others to easily download it from? And do I need to upload the whole folder or is there just one specific img that people need?
Edit: Do I need to upload the whole folder or is there just one specific img file that people need?
You're not going to believe this... It's started boot-looping again!
I performed the Nandroid backup, rebooted, it stuck on the HTC logo, I removed the battery to get the SD card out so I could extract the Nand backup, put the battery back in and now can't get any further than HTC logo before it restarts and gets stuck on HTC logo over and over again!
What have I done wrong now? I'm not having much luck with this!
Edit: Had a quick read and found this was quite common when combining unrevoked and rom manager for backups. I restored from the backup I just made and all is working again now, I hope!
ahhh you could've gone 1 step further and posted an unrooted ROM!
you should've S-OFF'd with AlpharevX without setting up the entire phone etc. then made a nand backup of the unrooted ROM. Ahh well lol, I'm on Vodafone anway

Damn! If only you'd told me that a few hours earlier!
Well, it's too late now, I've already rooted. Is there a way to unroot and then create another backup?
Can anyone tell me which of the files in the backup I need to upload please? Do I need to upload all of them or can I delete sd-ext.img and data.img?
Or if there's a way to unroot and create a backup of an unrooted rom then let me know how to do it please!
Hi,
I know this thread title looks like something that's been covered a million times, please bear with me as I've been searching the forums for hours now trying to find an answer to my particular problem.
I have a One X which I was running IceColdJelly 2.2 on up until recently, and I want to revert back to stock in order to sell the phone. The problem I am running into is that my phone is locked to O2 UK (CID: O2_001) and my version number is too high to use the appropriate RUU (version-main: 3.14.206.27).
I have restored using a 3.14 Nandroid backup using the "Getting back to stock..." guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714) and an O2_001 Nandroid backup (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140).
However, the phone still appears to be rooted, as SuperSU is still in the app drawer. Is there any way to downgrade far enough to be able to use one of the available O2 RUU's, the newest being 2.17.206.2 from http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/?dir=Endeavor ? Naturally my bootloader is still unlocked in this current state as well...
Many thanks for any help with this.
Hi!
A little help would be much appreciated. I've rooted my HTC 816, CWM, but want to return to stock. My reason for doing this is to remove CWM - it takes up almost all of the 8gb of internal memory, so I can't install any new apps on the phone. Also, I haven't needed to use the root features like I thought I might. So back to stock it is (hopefully).
My question; will this RUU work on to restock an Australian 816 phone? I'm really not clued into differences between a European RUU and the RUU for an Australian phone. Are these the same?
I can't find details on this anywhere. Thanks in advance!
Also - second question - what are the files on http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads? Are these stock images, or RUUs, or what? EDIT - kernal source. Not relevant I assume.
EDIT - apparently it won't work. Does anyone have the AUS stock RUU, or know of another way to return to stock recovery? Cheers!
