If by switch off, you mean turn it off completely whilst plugged in then, no it wont fix it! but if you want to switch it off unplug it, or if you want to charge it leave it turned on

Why? it doesn't need turning off to charge, Kali suggests it is related to the engineering hboot , so if you want rid , you need to radio S-OFF then re-flash your original H-Boot , but again why?

Hello!
Strange issue ive got with my DHD. When my phone is switched off and i connecting ac charger it automaticaly switches on and get into Clockwork Reocvery...
Is it normal behavior, and if yes how to avoid it?
Appreciate for any help.
Thanks!
ClockWork bug.
IIRC, this has been fixed in the latest version, but not sure if that is available to ROM Manager yet.

the second stage of charging is just to ensure that phone is at 100% when battery stats are deleted, the phone will charge in recovery (don't believe me install QtADB and you can watch it from the phone info pane) so complete the second stage with the phone in recovery then proceed as per instructions.
BTW the reason for recovery coming up, is HTC use the recovery partition to power up the charging light on the DHD when it is turned off, so it's trying to replicate this behaviour but Clockwork recovery doesn't play ball
Any update on the battery trick in this state?

1- you can enter into recovery menu?
2- which is your current clockworkmod version? be careful and don´t do partition sd with previous CWM than 3.0.2.6 you can brick your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1043160.html
waiting for that you don´t did it!!
i can't enter the recovery menu.
I don't know witch version it was. i just used the the newes relases from the leedroid page, and haven't done any changes to the preset.
So propably don't look good for me
Just to rule it out, remove the SD card then try starting the phone (turn it off first even you have to pull battery out).

Can you power on the phone?
When does the boot sequence stop?
Maybe this helps:
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons
If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button..
3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.
4. Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.

sry, i have to tell you that the clockworkmod recovery has formatted your nand-partition, what means that your phone is bricked.
as far as i remember there is no way to fix this.
you had to update your clockworkmod recovery before doing anything. you should´ve read the fat stickie in the android development section.
CWM had a bug which causes bricked phones, because it doesn't partition the sdcard, but the nand memory. this means hard brick.
sry bro.
EDIT: oh^^ just saw, someone posted a link already.
So what happened when you removed the SD card from the phone and tried turning the phone on? <<-- Ignore, I didn't see the bit where you said you'd tried it. Sorry.

Thanks Sergi, I didn't see that bit.
I agree, if you can't get to HBoot (hold down vol- and press power button) then it looks like it is bricked. But that would mean he used an older version of clockwork recovery and I don't know where it says to use an older version.
Summary: Bricked. Send away for repair. Just don't tell them what you were doing.
Can't he JTAG the unit and flash NAND that way?
How does HTC do it?

HELP!!
I bricked my phone after Flashing the Jdroid Exodized rom.
it end up with Bootloop/HTC logo.
My Fault is Before Flashing the rom, my Battery is 10%....
I've Done All the XDA Threads on how to Fix this.
-erasing cache from fastboot mode
-relocking the bootloader(its relocked now)
-Flashing RUU(i can't flash RUU becoz of my Low battery it needs 30%.)
My problem is, How can i Charge my Phone Up to 30%... And how would i know if it is Charging?
coz everytime i plug in my devices USB or Charge, the red light is going on and off, steady, sometimes its Gone...
Im confused.
Please help me T____T

Once it gets to the HTC logo and freezes it should charge there.
Are you still able to get this far?
Have a read of this, see if anything helps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609190
Try flashing the RUU from Fastboot rather than HBOOT, worked for me.
You may need to put stock recovery on and then lock the bootloader first.
If you're using the latest CWM then turn the phone off and charge it

You have to unlock bootloader again by the looks of it.
why don't charge your phone, while it's off? You'll see a red light burning.. when it's green, it's 100%..
than try the RUU..

Boot into recovery, if it's 5.8.3.1 then it's the latest one so just charge the phone when turned off
Try not to panic!!! I went through something similar last week. It should charge there. Leave it be for 3 or 4 hours to charge.

Are you using the HTC charger as it requires 1 amp to charge properly. I found this out when I used my Nokia charger and the light flashed but when I used my HTC one the light stayed on and charged quicker.

This is not the case, I mean when I press the power button it takes the phone 3-5m to get to the white screen with HTC Logo with vibration after 3-5m later vibration stops after waiting about 2m the phone starts up(TOOOOOOOO much time) In any system used to have Froyo still had to wait that time, Help me fix it and make my phone start up like before...
Hmm.... odd problem. Try running a Gingerbread RUU (will remove custom recovery and all bad traces) and run the hack kit, shiuld work

I had the same problem. I had tried everything bad nothing help. I have flash boot.IMG and the boot loader himself bud nothing.
So go back to stock for repair. T is your motherboard. (The chip were your bootloader is) you can tried flash the boot loader but Jo must have radio s off.(this can not be undo this not the same as eng-s off) If you have radio s off your warranty void. So go back to stock that is what I has do. Good luck
You can run the ruu>conect>usb>run adb >adb reboot bootloader> wait max 10 min>the screen is white you must waist for fastboot USB take 5 min> start ruu.
I din't help me but maybe you are lucky

Dit you use AAHK for eng-s bootloader(mine was broken by the tool form kloyo nothing personal)
It is not adviseable to flash the ENG HBOOT on ACE devices SHIPPED with Gingerbread. This can cause a severe boot problem.
See the AAHK manual
