Well guys, what forums are there for the Dash? I have been lurking around this one, modaco.com, and qusers.com. Any others I should know about?
howardforums.com is still the most active forum for the excalibur i've seen so far
under the htc, wm smartphone, and t-mobile wondows mobile subsections
Agreed, and I have yet to see a Excalibur specific forum similar to Qusers.........yet
dashusers.com...I'm working on it...need some moderators to help me out though.
I just joined Dashusers. Good to see it. I'll help if you can use me.
Thanks a lot for the support guys. I have been working a lot on getting it setup right. I am having trouble integrating the forums with it as my hosting service is being a pain in the butt. I am thinking of switching to another service altogether.
Whatever happens, it should be at least functional in a couple a days.
I finally got the forums working. You guys will need to re-register.
Thanks again for all the support.
Cool - I'll take a peek!
dashsmartzone is out there too.
There is also a forum started up called forum.dashsmartzone.com. It has a couple fairly technical Dash moderators targeting the finer points of the Dash.
Hello Everyone. I have a Softbank running the latest black release, and I also updated the radio to the latest one available. I didn't have my handset long before I flashed it with the newer ROMs or radios so I have very little to compare with stock performance. Anyways, the last couple of nights when I started using my BT Headset (HBH-610) more, I noticed my calls would hang and when I check the phone, the signal quickly drops. So I resume the call and it does it again. Finally I turned BT off and just used the speakerphone and I didn't have the call drop issues. It's just a guess but is it possible that the BT is having interference with my calls? If so, how do I remedy this issue? Is there a known radio version that works better with the BT enabled an in use? I apologize for my ignorance on the matter, as I am fairly new to the Windows Mobile world, any help on this is greatly appreciated.
It's morons like you that make JJ loose his cool, and pull ROMs. Before you post something, starting a NEW THREAD to ask a question that belongs on an existing thread, try to learn how to use the SEARCH function. It's not there only for looks.
In fact, it's people like you that make ALL of us on here roll our collective eyes, and mutter something about how much of a ****wit you are. In fact, I keep thinking of a George Carlin quote:
"Think of how stupid the average person is. Now, realize that half the people out there are dumber than that!"
You, sir, have just proven that you are part of that other half.

There are some real nasty pieces of work on this board, and some decent helpful, albiet sometimes frustrated members.
It think it's clear to anyone reading your post which half your in. Don't bother flaming me I won't reply to YOU.
I just had to say something, the lack of humanity around here is getting disturbing.
I'm assuming your thinking that I thought the problem exists because of the Black Firmware. I appologize if that's what you think I was implying but it is not, I was wondering if anyone in general who is runing Windows Mobile 6 was having an issue. If I would have though it was the Black ROM that was causing the issue I would have posted in that thread.

here here... I've been doing a hell of a lot of reading on this hermes unit, like I did with all my dell axims before it. During this reading I've come to the same conclusion. Very well expressed, Eaglesrest.
I'm with LegolasTheElf here, there are a couple of issues with BT and Black 3.01, which if the person in question had bothered to search the original post, would have found.
I know it's harsh, but we have to think for ourselves and search the forum before adding to noise that's here!

Well, well, well. We certainly have sunk to the bottom of the "Trailer Trash" rung.
Can you not express yourself without cussing! (swearing)
This forum is enjoyed by Juniors and ladies. If you don't know how to behave, stop posting!
I too get annoyed with Noob's not reading the posts, but I just ignore them.
Get a life man!
Just ordered a new Casio Gz'One Commando which came out a little over a month back. From what I can gather, there doesn't seem to be any good, centralized places discussing much about the phone.
This led me to these questions...
How does one go about requesting a new forum section for a new phone?
What are the requirements to get a new phone added to the forum?
It seems this phone can be rooted; however, with only bits and pieces of information scattered throughout several forums, it makes it difficult to harden the process and help those with issues getting it to work. Not to mention, it's been a pain finding helpful do's/don'ts with things like de-bloating and (perhaps the most important mod I'll ever make to this phone) de-Binging it. Considering the issues people have had with removing Bing from Samsung, it would be nice to get a group of people together to work on the issues and get a good process.
Appreciate any info. Thx.
Can someone tell what was the default setting on the Turn on SMS over IMS? Should that feature be on or off and what does it do in general thanks?
You don't have to start another thread just because your first one didn't get answered...

Thanks for the info that helped alot.

OP, it's a pain asking on message boards, people get all defensive when they don't know the answer!
The only semi-useful info I could find was at code.google.com - (I'm a new user, can't post URL's)

This whole site has a great deal of unhelpful, self righteous twats. Top it off with the stupid posting restrictions for new users and you have a pretty damn unfriendly place for noobs. I should have known from the snarky video I had to watch just to join that this was an exclusive Android guru only place. It sucks that people come here to chat and get help with issues and this is the kind of responses they get. Good job.

The default setting is off.
IMS = IP Multimedia Subsystem
IP = Internet Protocol
SIP = Session Initiation Protocol
With setting off, SMS is sent/received over 1x circuit switched connection
With setting on, SMS is supposedly sent/received over a SIP session over IP (e.g. LTE)
I'm not sure if one is better than the other or what advantages/disadvantages either would have.
Is IMS even functional? I know it will be for VoLTE, but what about now?

Look at this dudes signature, you can tell he's a corn ball.
Anyway, I was curious about this too because sms over ims is supposed to be available when volte launches, which hasn't yet (volte is voice and sms coming over LTE). Right now only data comes over LTE. Voice is still 1x with some other convoluted ehrpd stuff.
Anyhow, any luck with this? Did you give it a try? I imagine your data usage would go up since text would go against your data usage.

Finally, someone whom sees it how I do. It's sad to see that this still happens. Every since the BB days and mIRC chat all the way up until now it continues. Forums are meant to help the "Noob" or "Lam3r" if any of you are old enough to remember that term. If you want to help then great, but if not then I would love for these fat, anti-social dorks to do something other than harass and discourage the young ones (and the older) who wish to learn.
If everyone could follow that philosophy as a general rule. Kind of like Open Source software, it's done for a cause, something greater than one's self. If forum users (not naming any in particular) would open their minds and allow a bit of tolerance for the unknowing rather than providing links to this, this and this (which sometimes is the easiest way to resolve and issue or answer a question). But god forbid if someone doesn't use the search feature.
I understand that answering the same questions over and over again is annoying. But rather than push that person off with another link or trolling comment just think back to when you were that "Lam3r" or that "N00b" noone wanted to help back in the 90's and how frustrating it was.
None of us started out this life knowing anything about software development, computers and networking, telecommunications, etc. But when a forum is created, watch out....everyone is an expert and "you are an idiot" if you have a simple question to ask. N00b's, don't let these loser's discourage you. Keep looking for your answers on XDA and you will find someone willing to help. There are tons of super cool members here.
And again, I'm with you 100% Xfanatic....
Deuces.

I agree with you about agreeing with Xfanatic...and Lam3rs should not get discouraged because there really are good people out there!
On the topic - this reminds me of the setting in older phones (maybe began with the first few colour phones?) of using GPRS for SMS. Never really understood if it had any advantage/disadvantage and it was disabled by default. I didnt see any change in performance if it was on or off, and also couldn't see a notable change in data usage but it was harder to track back then...

Before phones were smart.
Haha! some like the P900 I still have a lot of respect for and it was probably as smart as todays phones with less gimmick
I was talking about phones from around 2002 or 2003...Nokia 7250i for example
This user's guide I found for the phone has the setting listed as one of the features - http://dl.owneriq.net/4/41149a6d-d289-4d77-b932-7006a2d469d8.pdf
IMS
wikipedia is your friend ref: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Multimedia_Subsystem .. option remains relevant for new phones ie Nexus 4 etc. Sometimes registration is required to enable.
Rob
T-mobile definitely utilizes LTE(SIP - see above for definition) for sending texts. Not sure about other carriers.
Edit: I just tested on and off with or without registration, and really don't experience any noticeable difference regardless of how it's set. None the less, its apparently active on T-Mobile network.
Really?
You guys are all such a big help for people aren't you. this comes up in the top of a lot of SMS/IMS search results and you people are arguing over internet politics. juts fricken help people or move along okay? I gave up on trying to find my answer in this muck!

I cant get 4g on my sony xperia m2 and when i got to network operators no 4g shows up please help
I recently joined this site and i have 2 Sprint Galaxy S3s that i'm looking to Flash to a prepay service. The wifeys and mine. I have searched all over this site for a complete guide to make this happen. I don't have a donor phone so it would have to be a plan that doesn't involve using a donor, if that's possible. Like i said i'm new to this but i really want to do this. I have a lot of patience and i want to learn. I live in PA so the main prepay i hear about is Boost Mobile(i have had before and truley would like to be on), Straight talk, or page plus i guess. Or if someone would be able to remotely help me out would be great. I've seen many mail in sites but the wifey doesn't like the idea of mailing our phones out. Plus no luck of local flashers that don't charge outrageous money. Any help would be great, Thank you.
First answer for you and any user is to read and study all previous posts about stuff on this topic. Using the search feature is a huge advantage too.
XDA is a sight for developers, development, and learning said development - it is not a support site.
