So i was changing my following the thread here about changing the HTTP PD Proxy port & address.
I decided to poke around inside EPST and noticed that under Data Profile there are options for Primary and Secondary Home Agent. Are these the same thing as DNS server?
I ask because im interested in trying Googles DNS servers for 3g/4g.
I saw a post here about changing this with ip's from a list. So if Home agent is something different than DNS server then ill just follow that post. Can anyone clarify if Home Agent & DNS server are one and the same and if so if its possible to use google DNS with it?
Thanks
no no no, the home agent is nothing like a dns server, you'll probably break your phone playing around with that
Ok thanks, just making sure.

Apologies if I am wrong on this one but don't you just add it to the end of the mail server address in options?
ie. if mail server is : mail.server.com and you want to use port 2525, then you put in:
mail.server.com:2525
I cant get this to work - anyone know if it would be possible to create a cooked rom with a given port hardcoded into the pocket outlook app?
Dave.
port 2525 sounds like a socketmail email service
nah, 2525 is a common mail services alternate port to get around the ISP's blocking of port 25.
My mail service will also use port 587.
Anyway adding :2525 after the mail.server.com works fine here.
serverort does work
I am using servernameortnum currently in WM6 on my hermes, so it does work.
I am using port 465, the secure SMTP port. that, or 587 (the mail submission agent port) is likely unblocked by ISPs, but you would have to make sure that the server is listening there, and you will almost certainly need to authenticate to the smtp server. Many servers will only allow authentication over a secure link, so you might need SSL enabled too.
I had trouble however with SSL and SMTP AUTH in pocket outlook. If anyone else does, this might be useful: http://lists.exim.org/lurker/message/20040609.135310.ba09a6e4.html
Based on that link I ended up needing to make sure my mail server started conversations on port 465 in SSL/TLS mode (rather than waiting for a STARTTLS). For anyone using Exim, that means setting "tls_on_connect_ports = 465" in your config. For people using a commercial mail server, you might just have to try lots of ports and setting permutations.
So the short version is that serverort does work, but there are other concerns as well.
note that is "colon" "p". or a dumb looking little face.
Hi there ... i'm using a wap connection with proxy server for HTTP
opera browser is working just fine as well as weather update, no problems what so ever !
But IE is giving me the message (you are not authorized to view this page)
... and at the end of the page it says
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden
Internet Explorer
it's really frustrating coz i searched a lot on internet and couldn't find any solution
i tried a lot of roms and had the same issue with all of them
any help is appreciated and thanks in advance
^ bump ....
i wonder if there is a solution !!! 30 saw this thread yet no one answered !!
I don't know if this will help you in any way.
I remember when i had a Virgin Mobile SIM card that i had to set a different proxy setting for IE, otherwise it would not open web pages.
You can find the proxy setting under the connections settings.
T-Mobile on the other hand needs the proxy setting turned off in order to work.

thx for your reply gadgetwizard but if i put a different proxy the internet service wont work cause it depends on this particular IP
so i'm looking for a way or advanced configuration for IE to make it accept using proxy server !!
so again i'm waiting to see if anyone can help me solve this
I don't know where it's located in this new IE, but you have to change the user agent for your proxy, it's a little "tag" that identify your browser and your phone type for better browsing optimization. Your wap proxy won't let you pass through if your User Agent is not allowed. Search a little more on how to change it (HDtweaks do that for previous IE version, it might work. or registry edit) and what to put instead. Hope it's clear, hope it helps.
I am constantly getting emails from XDA that someone is trying to log into my account. Some douche with the ip: 93.218.42.61 is trying to access my profile.
What to do with this?
hahaha they have a default IIS7 running... and it looks like a pptp server(vpn)
Code:
Nmap scan report for p5DDA2A3D.dip.t-dialin.net (93.218.42.61)
Host is up (0.036s latency).
Not shown: 998 filtered ports
PORT STATE SERVICE
443/tcp open https
1723/tcp open pptp
And they are german because the 404 page is in german.
https://93.218.42.61/asdfasdfs
prolly a robot being used as a proxy.
Hey,
In my family we share our Nexus 7. We have multiple user accounts. Of course, I am the owner user.
Is it possible to make another user the owner? The reason I need several owners is because we have a paid VPN service, yet only the owner user can set it up and use it. I have already set it up, and it works fine on my account, but when trying to switch to another account and use the internet, it doesn't work.
Is there an app which will act as a proxy that takes my VPN details and connects to the internet with them?
Thanks
I think it would be cool to be able to use the gateway IP address as a variable. It would also be pretty cool to have it clickable to take you straight to it in your chosen web browser....
This way it would be easy for me to configure modems
