First of all, thanks a lot to franks.maia for your I9000B initiative and support and patience.
The kind of kernel published here are only stock kernels, which means the exact same code build by Samsung for Vibrant phones.
Of course, there's a difference: Voodoo lagfix 5 stable has been injected in them, with its extensions and also ClockWorkMod recovery as default recovery.
Voodoo lagfix converts /system, /cache, /dbdata and /data to Ext4 with optimized parameters for speed but also guaranteeing data integrity.
Also, it configures the write behavior of Linux to prevent lag from happening, plus apply some memory management providing a better balance than stock settings.
Also supported: custom boot animation, init.d scripts and an improved adb shell (new!)
This kernel also installs the su binary for your convenience. Only activated once you download Superuser App from market. If you don't want to "root" your phone, skip this part.
How do choose the version?
The best version is the closest to the one of the ROM / system you run.
If you use a custom ROM instead of an official Samsung one, ask your ROM dealer which one is closer
update.zip you can flash with ClockWorkMod recovery (not 2e or 3e) or SGS Kernel Flasher
JPD+Voodoo http://dl.project-voodoo.org/stock+...Voodoo-Froyo-I9000B-VJJPD-unsigned-update.zip
.tar you can flash with Odin or Heimdall
JPD+Voodoo http://dl.project-voodoo.org/stock+Voodoo/tarballs/stock+Voodoo-Froyo-I9000B-VJJPD.tar
Note, please disable any other lagfix previously installed, especially OCLF-kind (the conversion to Ext4 would take ages)
These kernels are only for I9000B, available in shout America like Brazil, Argentina Chile and Peru. (thanks guys!)
Thank's a lot supercurio, we already have a ported speedmod kernel, and it's good to have this one too, oh, a little correction, I9000B it's available in Argentina too
Edit: What about a 2.2.1 kernel with all the features? (Voodoo sound, BLN, sharpness adjustment...) It's possible?
Also Chile and Peru.
Supersurio thanks for the kernel, at the beginning when I bought the device attempts to place the Voodoo, and the phone was bricked, i was felt hopeless and was from that experience that I began to flash with customs ROMs. Here we have of customs kernels and we install the Voodoo, but until now it did not get digital TV with this model, I think that this kernel can be Ext4 and TV. Thanks again.
Odin3 1.7
Hi.
Can you describe which options should be used with Odin for this kernel+recovery update?
When I first upgraded to JPA, and then to JPD, I just used the PDA option, and flashed twice (first attempts never worked, somehow).
Kind regards
Marco
man, i'll need to donate 4 u after that!!!
thanks
one question:
we can use this kernel with any ROM we want herer in XDA base in 2.2 and above, can't we?
digital tv working perfect?
BRAZOOKA!

Some people are reporting 3g problems. Is there any sugestion about lagfix config, in CWM Recovery, to solve this bug? I think debug mode on/off might be related whit the solution, am I right?

Hi criscan!
About 3g (and, well, about everything^^) It should behave like the original kernel, as It's the original kernel
The operation made here is wrapping the lagfix around the kernel and integrating ClockWorkMod recovery but that's all
Speedmod
Is there any chance you could also add to the kernel the changes done by hardcore on his speedmod?
Like, having a Speedmod+Voodoo for GT-I9000B?
That would be truly awesome.

Alright, here is the z4mod app at long last! This release needs a lot of testing for different devices still, so make sure you check the compatibility table below unless you know how to use Odin to flash back your original kernel. Thanks for helping to test this!
[size=+1]This is still in beta! If you know how to flash with Odin, please help test so all bugs can be found and fixed to allow for wider release![/size]
What is this?
Another lagfix. This one is a bit different from existing lagfixes though:
- Differences from OCLF: Uses native EXT/JFS instead of loopback mounts. Loopback mounts in linux can be a bit flakey at times, especially when they're on RFS. So this is generally better.
- Differences from lagfix kernels such as voodoo or sztupy's: These types of lagfixes are kernels compiled from GPL sources for specific devices. This can cause a number of issues, such as losing out on bug fixes in later Samsung kernels released after the GPL code, or differences in devices such as the I9000B, etc. z4mod also has (imo) a nicer design, in that it uses /etc/fstab for filesystem mounting, as well as keeping the convert scripts outside the kernel. It should also work across ALL (or many?) Samsung devices without changes!
How do I use this?
Install the app. Click the buttons. It should all just work. Let me know of any issues or complications! This is still in testing!

This probably won't work if you have a Voodoo kernel installed. The Voodoo kernel is unlikely to be patchable, since it's not native RFS, and does not use /etc/fstab.

I have a Vibrant and this is why I have avoided using the OCLF in the past. Many ROMs don't even need a lag fix. However, with that issue gone, I'll at least try it and report back on it.

hey I forgot to mention I had flashed setiron's reoriented kernel on it , so yea result is could not patch kernel ..
I guess i have more test to do. But right now Im stuck with 0.12 problem.
I did test it
I knew it would not work.;-)
The thing i was testing was if you could do this on a kernel that has note been patched. Well you can press the button and the phone restart. I guess it try but failed and restart again.
Can you do a check on the kernel so you know its patched?
I thinking of ways happens if people try every kernel without the patch. It should point them to the website.
Instead of restarting the phone.

It checks for a /z4mod/z4version file to determine if it's been patched already. If you are using an earlier patched z4mod kernel that doesn't have that file, then it won't work right. If you start with a stock samsung kernel then it should work fine.

Feel free to give it a shot, but the current emphasis in this 0.9 app release is on patching and lagfixing the stock samsung kernels. Once that is all working and bugfree across devices, then I will look more at supporting custom kernels. At present, any custom kernel that does not change the initramfs (in particular, the /init binary and init.rc mount options) too heavily should work fine.
Hey Ryan,
I patched the stock Vibrant JK2 kernel and it patched successful, however the conversion to ext2 did not work. Said it worked, rebooted, but I was still on RFS.

Hmmm the rom/kernel I flashed came pre-rooted. Now that I think about it, I was using the stock JK2 kernel but it has a custom init script to allow the use custom boot animations. Could this be effecting the conversion process by chance? Anytime I manually root though I use OCLF from the market.
Hey RyanZA,
I see that there is a list of devices in the first post but I dont see a listing for the GT-i9000M specifically. I see the i9000, i9000B and i9000T but no "M". Is there a reason for this? Is the i9000M considered in the generic i9000 family? Also...
A bit off topic here but I am curious to know if I root using z4root and need to unroot for warranty purposes, will it remove ALL traces that it had been rooted including Busybox and Superuser app?
I know that Samsung has issued a memo stating that if a phone shows up rooted to a service center that the warranty will be voided and Id really like to try this rooting method.
Also, as you are probably aware, the i9000M here in Canada has issues with internal sd card failures and I am curious to know if just rooting with z4root will possibly kill my internal sd?
Thanks...
Flashed my Epic using the DK05 2.2 Rom, ran Z4mod, get error: zimage test failed when i try and patch the kernal.

UPDATE statement.
As original author for this thread, videos and first demos, I'm not currently working on the Gingerbread port these days (heavily busy working on Voodoo sound improvements).
It doesn't mean I lost interest in it, only that I miss time at the moment.
CyanogenMod team work on a serious port of Gingerbread for Galaxy S, witch won't be just a technical demo like the original spirit of this one.
Of course, such goal requires a lot of work, dedication, and also some calm.
There is a lot of natural interest about Gingerbread on Galaxy S, and it's perfectly understandable too.
Giving an ETA until the porting work is done or some major advance is made would be dishonest.
It means that not asking for ETA will be appreciated. However, you're welcome discussing other aspects.
If you want more technical insights and a few updates by most actives developers for this port, i would recommend to follow:

Galaxy S with Nexus S kernel - Booting Nexus S Android Gingerbread
Videos are here:
http://www.youtube.com/supercurioxda
Early demo Releases - V6
Requirements
You must be root on your phone
Your /data must be converted in Ext4 by Voodoo lagfix or another Ext4 lagfix.
Verizon Fascinates are not yet supported - Epic4G will require a lot more development.
You must have proceed to complete backups before
Some busybox installation is also useful for tar.
Another Important note
Be sure you have access to the download mode using the 3 buttons combination.
If you don't, it will be extremely difficult (even if in theory not impossible) to to flash another kernel back.
Steps:
1/ Download this system dump on your sdcard:
system dump archive
2/ Run these commands
Code:
adb shell
su
cd /data
mkdir gingerbread
cd gingerbread
busybox tar zxvf /sdcard/system-dump-as-root.tar.gz
busybox cp -a /efs efs
sync
reboot download
3/ unzip the attached nsonsgs.tar.zip to nsonsgs.tar
4/ flash the kernel with Odin or Heimdall - no pit - no re-partition
Watch Gingerbread boot on your phone !
How do I get back?
Everything is still in place on your phone - no harm done.
All you need to do is to flash your preferred custom (that support Ext4 obviously) Kernel back on your phone
What's about this port:
- It uses the Nexus S kernel compiled from sources
- It runs the exact /system image release, we dumped on IRC from an actual Nexus S device.
Am i French ?
Now you don't have any doubt anymore
Which filesystem ?
This early preview runs on Ext4. no RFS at all, the kernel don't support RFS.
Does everything work ?
Nope, but there are progresses.
Don't work: GPS / Voice / camera
Work: everything else: like sound, GL acceleration etc
Will it work ?
I think most of it will work after countless hours spent on it.
Is it flashable with Odin ?
Won't be so easy, but it's one of the goals
Do you work alone ?
Credits go the IRC channel #NSdev on freenode, and now a team formed regrouping most Captivate/Vibrant/Fascinate/I9000 developers and CyanogenMod team, with Kernel and ROM developers and also newcomers.
When will this/that work ?
The only honest answer is: there is no answer.
Please don't ask for ETA, don't pressure developers, they need peace of mind
Is this Open Source ?
Everything is fully published under an open source license

Hi Everyone,
I searched the forum for Lagfix tool... and i found all the apps to be either deprecated or development stopped. Could you please post me the link for the best one to use right now?? Thanks.
Oh forgot to mention i am on the Samsung Galaxy S (Android 2.2).
Most lagfix's are built into custom Kernel releases such as CF-Root, Galaxian or Semaphore with some of them using an addon app to apply the lagfix. If I were you I would do a bit of reading through some of the kernel threads in the Development section.
The basic app versions of lagfixing such as OCLF have all been abandoned as they eventually proved to be a little unreliable I think as opposed to kernel lagfixing methods.
Have a good long read through the FAQs for the I9000 if you're unsure of anything, they're well written and explain pretty much everything you'll need to know
Sorry to post and not come back! Thanks bigdyl69 for the reply.
OK... so i went through this thread about fixing niggling issues with SGS. And i sure am confused! Sorry if my questions are silly!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596
And in the General section's #6, is something that relates to Lagfix i think. So i can see all the older one's striked out which would mean they are no longer any good. But i do see three names there:
- Voodoo Lagfix
- Universal LagFix
- Fugumod Lagfix
So are these LagFix tools or custom ROM's?
But before anything, let me know:
1. I cannot do a Lagfix on a phone that has ROM's downloaded/installed from Kies? Am i right?
2. To do a lagfix first i have to get a custom ROM and custom ROM's have an inbuilt Lagfix tool?
It depends only from the kernel.
Lagfix is changing the file sysyem, so you need a kernel that support different file system.
Some kernel have inbuilt tool ( Speedmod, TORNADO) , others use ChainFire app to do this.
But when you flash new rom it's recommended to be on stock file system (RFS)
Само Левски S.U.R.F.A.C.E. ROM + BAT + TORNADO KERNEL
So if i upgrade to from Kies, it will be to the 2.3 platform dont know exact JP number now. Then i will have the default file system. But then i wont be able to do a Lagfix right?
So I am here to present upon thee my newest and likely last ROM for the Galaxy W: The Kezra Value Pack!
So what's new in this ROM compared to Kezra V4?
Well first off it's based off of the newest EUR firmware by Samsung, the infamous Value Pack that adds Face Unlock among other features to our phone (if you want a full changelist, look it up, Google is your friend). As per usual in a custom ROM, this one is rooted, deodexed, busybox'd and all that pretty stuff.
The custom Kernel present in this ROM is Cowithgun's latest modification of the Arco68 kernel for our phones. It adds tons of neat features, among the biggest on them being the ability to overclock your phone up to 1800MHz should you want to.
I can assure you the ROM is quite stable and should work without a hitch.
As for differences with Kezra V4 in terms of the applications inside here's the quick rundown:
1. I have dropped my arrogance and included most apps that people want (except for Polaris Office) and use. If you don't want a certain app, feel free to use Titanium Backup to remove it.
2. This ROM was shaped to be as close a copy of Cow's V7 ROM except that I have put an emphasis on the Gaming/Social aspect and left the Game and Social hubs from the TouchWiz Framework (CowPanel and Zeam are also included).
3. Kept the Samsung boot animation and sound because I think it's prettier that way
So here's the download links for those that want it:

3. Copy ZIP to SDCard;
4. Format system/cache/data

F.A.Q.
(1) Will this ROM work on the Exhibit 2 4G?
A: No idea. Ask the devs for the Exhibit 2. The hardware is quite similar but some things do differ.
(2) Is this CM7?
A: No, it is not. I unfortunately do not have the time to dedicate to porting CM7 over to the SGW. I am sorry
(3) What are the advantages of this ROM over stock?
A: It is rooted and much faster. Try it out yourself.
(4) Will you update this further?
A: Probably not. Only if there are CRITICAL bugs that need fixing.
(5) Is this overclockable?
A: Why, yes it is. Glad you asked
Version History:
V1: Initial Version
Changes are listed in Post #1
V1.1: Fixed Version

- Fixed CowPanel to actually do something.

Arco68 for helping me guiding me in this odyssey that is making Android builds and teaching me how the updater-script thing works and for allowing me to test some stuff which really helped me release this. Also for his custom Ancora kernel dsixda for his awesome kitchen in which I cooked this ROM.
dsixda for his awesome kitchen in which I cooked this ROM and adapting it to our phones
cowithgun for his superb work with overclocking and tweaking Arco's kernel.
Awesome... Thought you stopped your work on custom ROMS for wonder... Great to have you back. Are you going to use latest kernel from cow ROM no.7?

I have "stopped". I am just doing this because I believe EU users need and kinda deserve an EU ROM with most features from Cow's Kernel. And yes, I am using the kernel from Bionic Cow nº7
edit: atm I have a booting alpha ROM that already has the custom kernel and is rooted+busybox. Just testing a few things out, then it's on to the beta phase.
Well in that case, thank you kindly Sir
To be honest I almost lost hope for new euro ROM, that could be compared to cow's ROMS. Fortunately we have you

I will try to replicate Cow's ROM to the best of my ability although there are a few slight changes that deviate more from our stance when it comes to using a phone. He has removed the entire Social Framework (and the GameHub) from the TouchWiz framework, while I opt to keep it (I like my Gaming/Social stuff). On the other hand I opt to remove pointless bloatware like PolarisOffice (which sucks) and other stuff that is inserted in there just to occupy space.
edit: done and uploading.
Nice m8 glad to see you back

Installing update...
Thank you very much bro.
A quick ROM update is coming today, with the Bionic optimizations and a bugfix to CowPanel. But that should be the last version of the ROM.
Waiting for updates!
Thanks kezra for your work!

I'll do my best too
Anyway, will I have to wipe everything again with v2? I just finished reinstalling :-D

Unfortunately I always set my ROMs to wipe everything to avoid issues... You can always back them up with titanium backup, or not update. The fixes are minor anyway. But you'll see when I update the thread in about 2h

Not update is impossibile, I have some sort of compulsion that forces me to have everything at the latest avaiable version
Anyway I understand why you set it to wipe, I'll just install everything again. Restoring with Titanium often leads to issues :-D
I'm already working on the 14 toggle MOD based on this ROM.

[ROM] 6045-ELUGA-DCZ
current version 1.1 (2016-03-24)
STOCK, STABLE, ROOT, GAPPS
**************************************************
-I made it just for fun...
-it is not exactly a build. Its more a mod.
-based on latest PANASONIC ELUGA SWITCH (IDOL3 rebranded device) firmware (EB-90S55EWLv1009)
-I exchanged the kernel for the ARDE DEV TEAM STOCK OC one (4x1651 MHz + 4x1601 MHz).I used Group 1 kernel for my 6045Y device.
-including ROOT and GAPPS (latest supersu 2.65)
-added KERNEL ADIUTOR
-removed all unnecessary apps from TCL, PANASONIC and GOOGLE. There is only the necessary basic to run the phone. All other things you can download by yourself. So the ROM is about 900 MB on size.
-Due to source is the avaliable set of languages shrinken to see screenshots. But More Locale 2 app (preinstalled, but removable) will do the trick for you on most apps (except settings).
GUIDE:
-go to TWRP recovery (please make sure you use the @Unjustified Dev version from here
-wipe chache/dalvik/system/data
-install ROM
-If you are on 6045I or 6045K you have to download ad flash at this point the GROUP 2 OC Kernel from the htcmania.com site (see link below)
-wipe chache/dalvik/ (to be sure)
-reboot
DOWNLOAD:
From my google disk (size aprox 900 MB)
Here are all Kernels from ARDE DEV TEAM and the 6045I stock (6045Y stock, 6045Y OC , 6045I OC and 6045I stock)
ISSUES:
I dont know of any, you tell me.
changelog in 1.1 build (2016-03-24)
-just initial build..all as it is on stock, except kernel
CREDITS:
BIG thnax to @franq36 and @acura2201 of ARDE DEV Team for the Kernel, also thank @Grarak for the Kernel Adiutor.
Also Thanx to @Unjustified Dev, @famewolf, @Marionette and all the others who are making a great work for our device.
There is the link to the HTCMania.com KERNEL thread (Spanish)
And of course i am not responsible for any damage you do by flashing this on your device!
please wait amoment..my upload is slooow
nice i will test it

thath means more developers
i think it will be the same like i806...very little people will buy it. In china you can see even on TCL brand many users, many ports and many devs. On I806 there is only one dev in china.
I tried this out of curiosity, it didn't go so well... It freezes, screen shuts off then I have to restart it. Other then the freezing it looked pretty good, and I thought the Boot animation was funny on this phone.

its running on arde dev oc kernel.. try to flash stock kernel. my cpu is capable to maintain the oc frequencies so i had no issues with that. Except the lags that are also on stock firmware on idol3.
I can hold oc on the other roms tho, that's what I've been using for a few days.(and running right now) but I'll try it when I get a chance to see.

Hi guys, ROM very good and stable. But it seems to me that GPS very badly works, badly catches. Advise that it is possible to make to improve a signal of reception of GPS. Thanks
I solved a problem with reinstallation of GPS.conf
Hi DallasCZ,
Love the work you've done. Very efficient and usable, but I do have a stupid question: In regards of performance would you consider this more preferable in comparison to your 6045-i806-DCZ rom?
Also you state that 6045I users need to flash the GROUP 2 OC Kernel from htcmania.com and I assume this is the Nuevoboot_Alcatel_V1_6045I,6045K.img in your google drive as there no longer is a link to htcmania.com but I'd like your confirmation before I commit to this action.
Thank you for all the work you've put into this community!

since this is a stock rom, you can try to boot it with the keel whats inside. Or you can try to backup your boot. img from your stock rom and flash it after you flash this eluga rom.
hello DCZ i would like to thank you for your work, it is from far the best rom i've tried everythig is working perfectly, good performance and good battery life too with the advanced interative gov settings, really it's the best, all the stock stuff that we love about our phone, smooth (not the launcher still need of nova or else),no bugs no random reboot, lighter than the stock rom and with all the languages and the playstore as well. I definitely recommend this rom for those who want to have the best expereience with the Idol 3 6045 and the most stable. The only thing that i miss is the cyanogen theme application which is awsome and all the cyanogen ringtones alarms and notifications sounds but maybe someone can do something about it one day . Once again THANK YOU!!!!!

meybe if i have time. I made this only for fun.
To implement the mods i made on DCZ means to decompile framework and some other apks then change the apks, compile again and test.

Are you no longer developing this one? I was curious how it compared to the i806 version?

i am not a developer. I am just a modder. I have no time and if, i would only make some minor osmetics mods, so the performance would not change a lot.
