Rooted HTC EVO W/ S-OFF running Mikfroyo 4.4 smoothly until last night I wasnt sure if i was supposed to do this but I updated the PRL and FIRMWARE through settings>system updates on my evo. Boom.. lost my 3G icon and cant text or make calls.. getting error code 67 (check username or password) I went to my EPST settings and nothing seems to have changed.. all my info is still there. Any clue on what I can do?

Pretty sure a firmware update might have taken away your root. Boot into bootloader and make sure your still s-off?
That error code means you need to re-provision your phone. Call sprint from a different phone and tell them it needs to be re-provisioned and you'll be all set.
thats a tough one. Id hate to see you lose your stuff but have you tried flashing a stock ruu yet?
i run a stock sense rooted with clockwork. im not too familiar with the evo mods as i just got it; coming from a hero.
if it were me, id restore to stock. sorry i cant be of more help...ill keep looking as i have nothing else to do...

sounds perfect.
ive been having hiccups sending messages. perhaps i should call them and have them re-provision.
are you familiar if the provisioning could correct these issues? just curious, im not expecting you to have all the answers so no worries...thanks for the help
yea thats definitely sounds like all you need to do is provision your phone and actually there is probably a tutorial to refresh data somewhere in xda. Also if you are rooted and can get everything sprint can offer you and more right here why would you do an OTA... oh well like everyone has said call Sprint re-provision or look for a thread that shows how to do it but I doubt you need to unroot it..
Dial *2 and you can activate it yourself.
Sent From My HTC Evo 4G On The Now Network From Sprint Using Tapatalk Pro!
From the home screen; menu, settings, updates, update profile. I get a FC when doing *2 because sprintzone is not installed.
Thank you guys for your help, just updating everyone that I did get this problem resolved!! I was getting "Error Code: 67". I called Sprint explained the issue, they had me take my battery out for 2 minutes. After that, Sprint had me power my phone back on and told me when I get to the home screen to enter: "Menu>Settings>System Updates>Update Profile". I asked them why this happened, when I updated my firmware/prl/profile and they replied "Its common on all of these devices and its considered an overload of data which simply crashes the system. If it happens again take your battery out for 2 minutes, power on, then update your profile through System Updates. Having the battery out for 2 minutes will reset your data and allows a smooth profile update(profile update=DATA Updated). They said its not really necessary to update ANY System settings as your provider will issue a notification asking whether you want to do the update when an update is needed because updates don't just come out like every month. Also if you experience your phone is running slow, acting funny, etc. This same method works for that too."
Also they told me sometimes its needed to call the service provider in cases like mine so they can manually disable incoming/outgoing data to my phone and wait for ME to ask their network for data permissions VIA "MENU>SETTINGS>SYSTEM UPDATES>UPDATE PROFILE".
Hope this helps anyone having the same issue, please note I did this with a fully rooted HTC Evo running MikFroYo v4.4 Rom

When I was using CM's 6.1 Rom, That same thing happened to me. Im not sure what the reason for this is, but honestly I just flashed to MikFroYo v4.4 a week ago and it is BY FAR the BEST Rom I have used, It's Very fast.. I'd recommend switching to that and updating the radio's by simply wiping data and flashing the zip in recovery. No issues on his rom... I know its not because you dont have "Sprintzone" Installed because I dont have that nor any sprint apps on mine and have no problems with FC on system updates.
I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM7 and I called Sprint to help with the re-provisioning. I was following along until she had me enter the ##3282# code. She was expecting something to pop up so I could enter a code she gave me. Well, nothing popped up... It is obvious to me that CM7, and probably most non-Sprint ROMs, don't follow the same menu paths as Sprint does. I'm sure there is a way to go through the procedure Sprint was trying to perform with me, but it's not obvious what it is.
I'm sure someone can tell me what that procedure is... Anybody???
Thank you to everyone who tries to help,
Mike
Flash a Sense rom. Nandroid your CM first. Then the codes will work.
Thanks! This is working for me so far...

Thanks for the info! I followed your instructions, and data seems to be working nicely again. I'm running nearly the exact same package you mentioned, except my PRL version is 60680. Good lookin' out!
Possible fix I had same issue
ALl you have to do is update your profile from your phone usually using stock rom

Ok, I'm mixed up and maybe I still have too much noob left in me. I've got a rooted phone, software version 1.32.651.6. I know there was an update but I didn't do it b/c of fear of losing my root. So, what I did do was update some things "manually." I now have Baseband 2.05.00.06.10, and PRL Version 60667. I also flashed new Wimax as found within these forums. My question now is: I'm hearing about PRI version. How do you update this? And, is it necessary or useful? And finally, was there anything other than the above changes that I'm missing as a result of not doing the OTA?
Any info on any of these questions would help.
Thanks!
After downgrading my PRI to 1.34_003 (using the NAND unlock), I have not been able to receive text messages from AT&T. I have tried everything I possibly could to restore the PRI, but am helpless because it's an issue that resides in the roms themselves, according to toast (forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6845492&postcount=75). I am really hoping that we can find a way to update back to the stock 1.40_003 or better yet, an updated version. That's just my 2 cents!

Hmm thats strange. I have no problems sending or receiving from AT&T. All my friends but 2 are on it (one T-Mo & one Sprint) and I have no problem whatsoever messaging them.
For the past month or so I keep getting a message that my phone has a new system update available, but every time I push "Yes, update now" the phone says it will restart, and then a countdown from 10 begins. When it gets down to 0 nothing happens... does anyone know why my phone will not update? I have a rooted Incredible that's running:
2.2
2.15.00.07.28
2.6.32.15-gb7b01d1
[email protected] #1
3.21.605.1 CL231334 release-keys
3.21.605.1
Sounds odd, my suggestion would be trying to reboot it manually- but I'm assuming you've already tried that.
Of course.. you could do a backup of your apps and install a custom ROM on your phone and restore all your apps and data
Yeah, tried manual reboot but no luck. Does anyone know what the update is? Like I mentioned, it originally started about a month or so ago, and shows up about every two days or so...
Something to add, my wife has a totally stock incredible and the only difference I see between hers and mine is her Kernel version is 2.6.32.17-g9afc16 and mine is 2.6.32.15-gb7b01d1... and also her Build number shows 3.26.605.1 CL264707 and mine shows 3.21.605.1 CL234334.
I'm assuming hers already updated so does anyone know why mine won't update?
I thought you couldn't receive updates while rooted. Unless S-on with stock RUU.
Is your wife rooted too?
Sent from my ADR6300
That's correct Jesssiii, you cannot get OTA updates when the phone is rooted & not running the stock ROM.
No my wife's phone is not rooted, which is prob why she was able to update. I figured that it had something to do with the phone being rooted. How can I manually find this update? Is there a link on this site somewhere?
A couple of months ago I flashed a rooted 3.70.651.1 OTA. I believe it did not have the latest radios. My original Jawbone bluetooth earpiece was working fine at that point.
Then, about five weeks ago, I flashed my radio to 2.15.00.04.08 and PRI 1.90.003.
I am not really into flashing ROMs and radios, I just want the newest stock ROM and radio, and root so I can run Titainium, WiFi Tether, etc.
After "updating" the radio, an old bluetooth issue returned: During calls, my bluetooth connection stays connected, but the audio mutes and crackles. It's so bad I can't use my earpiece right now. I am sure it's not the earpiece, for two reasons:
1. I have two Jawbones, both the same model, and both have the same issue.
2. I had this same issue about a year ago and an update seemed to have fixed it.
So I'm thinking I should flash back to the last radio, though I'm not sure which version that would be (I "think" I had 2.15.00.09.01, which seems like it would actually be a newer version, no?).
And, do I simply flash the radio? I read in another thread someone advised to flash a different kernel.
Like I said, I'm not big into this stuff, so I'm not sure exactly what to try.
Ver. 2.2
Baseband 2.15.00.04.08
Kernel 2.6.32.17
Build 3.70.651.1
PRI 1.90_003
PRL 01115
Did you find anything about this? I am having a similar issue. My Jawbone ERA used to work flawlessly, but after the last update the voice quality has become terrible on the other end. The people I call complain so much about it that I have to switch off the bluetooth and use the handset.
I think that it is related to the stock rom and not the radio. I have a Jawbone ERA as well and it works great on Miui with the latest radio.
I believe bluetooth is more related to kernel and rom. If you are rooted you could try a custom sense kernel or rom. If you are not then you have to wait for root or HTC to fix it.
Correct MIUI pronunciation: "Royale with cheese"
Hmm, and I understand there is no root available for the GB yet? This last update has really put me off of HTC, though I had been a long time fan. Well, guess won't be buying another HTC again. My high-end bluetooth headset has been rendered useless. With all the restrictions on using cell phone when driving shouldn't this be bluetooth be something really important when the manufacturers release or update their devices.

So it is now October and I still am unable to use my BT earpieces. I am not confident with dragonsofcp's suggestion because he does not state which radio he is using, so how can I compare that to the one I am using?
also, if you read my post above, the problem started after I updated the radios - not the ROM. And I do not understand what a kernal is or what it does.
Here are my current specs:
7/8/11
Used ROM Manager to update radio to 2.15.00.05.02
Then updated PRI to 2.15_003
Current Kernal is 2.6.35.10-gc0a661b
Build 4.24.651.1
PRL 60681
Bluetooth is listed as 2.1 + EDR
I am sooo frustrated. I hate having to use a wired headset. It's always getting caught on something and pulling out of my ear.
I have posted about this issue more than once but have never received any solution that worked.

FYI - That isn't the latest radio, or the latest ROM build. You might want to try updating to the latest versions and see if that helps.
Well, thats my plan. But last time changing radios didn't change anything, as far as my issue.
I'm trying to find out exactly which files contain the Bluetooth radio, and where do I find downloads for them?
Sent from my PC36100 (EVO) using XDA App
Updated to the latest radios (2.15.00.08.08). Didn't fix the issue.
guess I'll start looking for a ROM.
I'm wondering if maybe during flashing the ROM something doesn't install correctly, in which case flashing the same ROM again might fix it?
Hello,
I own a rooted Evo with CM7. For some time now I've noticed that my device only connects to 2G/1xRTT and not EVDO. I have tried many apps to force it into 3G but it doesn't even try to connect or anything. 4G and WIFI work just fine. I would like to be able to use 3G cause there's not 4G signal everywhere I go, especially here in San Francisco.
I tried the following:
* Installed a Sense Rom and updated profile, PRL, etc.
* Calling Sprint (Had a bad representative who said it's probably connected and didn't believe me)
I have the latest PRL and I'm pretty sure I have the latest radio. Here is the version number:
Baseband Version: 2.15.00.11.19
PRL: 60681
I thought maybe updating the radio or PRL to a lower version would fix it but I've read the risks of messing with the radio and bricking your phone, so if I do it, I would like to clearly understand what is it that can brick the phone.
Any thoughts?
Thanks again.
UPDATE: I actually did not have the latest radio. Now I have version 2.15.00.0808
Beginning of the month, the rom I had installed had updated. The next morning I awoke to no cellular signal whatsoever. No bars. No network. Nothing. Unrooted/Odin flash device and went to stock ND8 and still have the same problem. I do get signal sometimes...like when Im traveling on the Interstate I get 4G. I do connect to the network sometimes, but mostly end up roaming. Sometimes i get EHRPD and MIP errors. Sprint has been giving me the run around by updating PRL and Profile many times, but no luck. Many ## codes, but nothing. I know I'm in a 4G area but my phone just wont connect to it or either 3G. It barely connects to the Sprint network. Phone calls have been interesting. Many drop. Any solutions as to how to fix this before I throw it thru my nearest Sprint store with there run-arounds. MANY THANKS! (Even if you dont have any idea how to fix this, thanks for just reading it. Make sure you are on stock and dial ##72786#. That will reset your DSA and reprovision your device to Sprints network. It would help if you tell us what ROM you were originally on?
