[Q] Loose Flash Panel? And root questions.. - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
My flash panel (the rubbery thing around the flash) is slightly loose, if I push down on the top it cracks and dips in a little, it isn't much of an issue, but worried because it has only been used for a couple of weeks and I'm wondering if it's something I'm doing wrong, and will it get worse? Also if anyone else has this problem then please reply, should be getting a case though soon.
ALSO, I want to root, but should I? Can I unroot it and return it to normal as if out the box again if I have to? And which ROM should I use for best battery life, performance and feature enhancement, I like the idea of Gingerbread and MIUI.
Thank you in advance

My Back camera is taking weird...pictures

i have attached a picture i just took... it looks kinda infared,.. kinda with the colors blurried... front works perfectly. running baked snack but this also did the same thing on fresh rom.
i dont see the picture!!! lol
lol just fixed it
hmmm, I was trying to recreate the problem on my phone. It almost looks like a low light shot? Have you tried in other areas of the house with different lighting?
By the way, is that spatula part of your tools or cooking utensils
Edit, also have you made sure your lens is clean and all that?

yeah it's all clean, if you could see the picture on the phone... it looks like 1 of those weak heat showing cameras... where theres red, yellow, orange and then coolest is blue. i dunno wtf it is. i did just get the invisible shield put on it yesterday... but its not covering the lens
lol, you dont have one of the camera effects on do you? while in camera press menu and select the paint pallet thing
there is a clear difference from the front camera to the back camera is the problem. no effects. normal.
hmmm, I said that because when I was messing with mine, the solarize option made it look like the photo you took, different colors depending on light intensity. Maybe try toggling it on and off just to see. Other than that though, I have no clue so I am sorry I could not help!!!
i'm thinking about taking it into best buy and having it checked out, should i flash it back to stock with the RUU before i do so? i can just see one of the geeksquad retards saying "oh it's because you've rooted it" or some BS like that
To be safe I would. Most people say, and I believe, that hardly anyone would notice but I'm paranoid like that. Plus doing an ruu will ensure it wasn't something during the rooting or flashing process.
i have wiped cache, delvic etc.. etc... reset to default settings. still doesn't matter, doesn't matter what rom i use etc.. i am going to flash back to stock and see... i never looked at the camera on stock heh
im thinking the problem is with the invisible shield u installed, it looks like the solvent that comes for the shield might have sipped through the glass covering the lens and gotten directly on the lens itself.
Any recommendations if indeed this could be a culprit? i am assuming the glass on top of the camera just doesn't come off...
i cant think of any solution off the top of my head..i'll try poking around my phone to see if i can find any way around it for you
That picture looks creepy though. Like something from Saw, perhaps.
No you just got the only thermal imaging HTC evo made.... ill buy it.,jk

sorry for bumpin an old thread. but this happened to me tonight. would sprint give me new phone under warranty?
I'd just unroot if rooted, being it to your local corporate store, and they should replace it under HTC warranty

I'm having problems with my camera on MIUI too. It either isn't recognized or just force closes. sucks real bad.
The camera is broken, you'll have to unroot, and take it to sprint, or live with it.

[Q] Help Loose backplate question.

Hi, my Xperia play has a kinda loose back of the screen plate, the part i point in the picture with a red arrow is different feeling, like a bit loose unlike the part i point with the blue arrow.
if i press the part of the backplate pointed with the blue arrow i dont feel any movement at all, but if i touch the part pointed by the red arrow i notice it is more away meaning more detached from the back of the screen than the other and if push it i can feel it moving to the position the other is.
so mi question is, is this normal, and could it cause any problems with normal use, the phone is new, i noticed it by accident.

Anyone please
If it's relatively new, call your provider and get it replaced. Should be under warrenty.
Also check to make sure theres no broken clips.
can i tell if a clip is broken without openning the cell? i dont' think is is because it just like half cm that the side market in the red arrow is outter than the blue one, but i can push it foward unlike the blue arrow one that is still.
Heres a detailed photo of the problem, the part in the blue square is good and the part in the red square is kinda misaligned out of the frame (i can push it and it moves to the place it should be, but comes to this position when i stop pushing), could this be serious and possibly get worst or this is something that can normally happen normal can i continue using it without problems, i don't have warranty
what you guys think, looking at the last picture?
Sorry, I know this isn't going to help but, your Play looks way different to mine. Different volume and different L/R buttons. I know there are different models, but I never realised that the actually outwards facing hardware was different.

Lol.
So back on topic, please can someone tell me if i should worry of this problem or i can continue use the phone normally without concern:

Is it in warrenty?
no, do you think is something serious or i can continue using it normally?
Nobody can really tell without actually getting it into their hands. To me, from the pictures, it looks ok to use. But without actually feeling how loose it is I can't say for sure.
Personally, without a warranty, I would continue to use it but just be careful when sliding it open and closed.
If you notice anything other than the loose backplate, then it is time to get it checked out. Eg, dimmed screen, lack of responsiveness to the touch screen etc. Especially around the area where it is loose.
thanks, it's not realy loose just kinda moved half cm outwards of the frame, and it only moves if i push it down to where it is supposed to be. the other side cant be moved because its pressed against the frame, unlike this side.
Yeah, just sounds like a broken clip all right. Like what you first though. I'd say you will be fine.
Thanks.
Could be but i dont feel any broken pieces moving inside, and i havent dropped the phone and i opened from its seal brand new.
but is this is the cause, you think this could have been caused by the plastic case, it's a trident one?
also, can clips be replaced easily by yourself, or the cell have to be serviced?
No, it's more likely a clip that is actually attached to the casing. You are unlikely to hear anything as it would have fallen out long ago. They are quite small.
Eg, like the ones that hold the back of the phone in place.
I can't imagine a case would have done this. It's too.... internal, if you know what I mean. Is it possible it was like this when you bought it? It could have just been shipped badly or something. These things happen.
If it is what I think it is, then the casing itself would need to be replaced and that wouldn't be worth the money.
Thanks again

Reflex Issue (Faulty Phone)

Hey guys
I'd like to tell you all that this issue has occurred with my phone. On one side of my phone when I tap it (even lightly or not to hard) the screen has a blur effect to it which is not supposed to happen.
I bought this phone from UK in the Three store so i'd like to inform you guys that you should try tapping slightly on your phone and if you see a slight blur effect your phone might be faulty since this is not supposed to happen.
Now I know a lot of people say this is bull*** so did I until I realised that when I tap it even sensitively I see a very slight blur effect on the screen aka flex issues, it's possible that this only happens to my phone but I am pretty sure that there are more out there that have this.
I just made this post to inform you guys about it I'm guessing everyone wants a perfect phone therefore I advice you to test it on your phone and if it does the same thing as mine you should return it in order to get a perfect phone with no screen issues. Oh and BTW when you try it out make sure you have good eyes to see it because it's very minimal but still annoying.
I am returning mine pretty soon, I love the HTC One X but this has dissapointed me a lot, but hey what can you do? only return it and get a new one I suppose.

desire Flashlight - help please

guys....I need some advise to solve this.....its very wierd and I'm sure it has happened only on my device. My camera falsh used to work well before but for the past few months, I have an angled flashlight which renders my images half dark and half bright (i.e the flashlight falls outside the range of the captured image).
Could any suggest a way to solve this?
I really hope to get some help as my earlier this one was not answered elsewhere!

any help?
If the flash light is angled then it's likely it's moved inside the case. The best course of action would be to take your phone apart and see if you can see anything broken or out of place. Until you know what the issue is there is little point speculating.
There are plenty of disassembly guides you can find with google
thankr s
thank you for the suggestions.....but i dont understand how could that solid inner case could have got jammed / something and if so how it could be rectified
You have to check yourself. Remember, we cannot physically take a look at your phone! Are you sure there is no dust or something between the flash and the back cover? Check if the flashlight (and camera!) is still level with the rest of the casing, and otherwise try to push it back in?
the lens and flash are intact and good.....but the flash stills falls elsewhere to the focus of the camera
Are you running stock ROM? I moved to villain rom and found photos became much worse, with darkness all around the outside of the subject regardless of lighting how well lit the subject was, but it was particularly bad with the flash.

im on ics by sandvold....but i have had this since stock on froyo!
im unsure of your similarity as my pics when taken w/o flash are perfect (when not connected to data)

Camera Flash

Hi, I bought this phone as a secondary phone for myself brand new unlocked from Amazon T770B about 8mos ago. I take pictures a lot and noticed from the start that when using the flash it would appear that the left side flashes first then the right side but the right doesn't seem to flash very well. When i look at the pictures taken using the flash, depending on what it is it even looks darker on the right side. I have never had a camera quite like this so its new to me & i love the idea of one on each side. I've held the phone away at varying distances, made sure other light is evenly distributed, needed more of a flash, less of one, etc etc wondering maybe if that's just how it is. In case its not normal, at least I can get get it fixed (i hope) If it is normal, is there a setting I'm missing, optimal distance, some trick to it? I'm very sorry if this is crazy simple, I'd just hate for it to be a malfunction that I've been ignoring this whole time. Please help! Sorry for the length, wanted to be thorough! Thanks in advance!
