[Q] Best kernel to use to use with vaelpak 3.0 remastered? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently as in today flashed vael's 3.0 remastered rom and was curios to know what kernels guys have been using with this rom. I know vael packaged with SBC For Netarchy 4.1.9.1 CFS No-HAVS kernel for unmatched battery life. any help would be appreciated.

I have been using netarchy's 4.3 cfs no havs, no uv, and no sbc. I think you should definitely flash something without sbc. If you don't have VP settings, grab it from the market and it can get you headed in the right direction.

vp settings
Vaelpak included the settings in his latest version of the rom i think he called it VP 3.0 remastered. And in the settings is a screen in which there are a bunch of different kernels to flash. I know some people have had trouble with the SBC but not all. So my question is why should everyone stay away from the SBC?

New Kernels - Differences?

With the new OTA kernel being tweaked and incorporated into new ROMs, it's getting hard to know which dev kernels are still current and which might be deprecated. Can anybody with more knowledge than I make a few notes comparing the more common options? I'm thinking specifically:
-The stock OTA kernel that just came out this week
-King's kernels (including - why are there two?)
-Baked Kernel #6 (included with BakedSnack 1.7)
-Netarchy-toastmod
It would be helpful to reference build numbers so this thread still makes sense when King's goes up to #9, for instance (it's currently at #8 on both versions). The highlights I'm wondering about are battery life, FPS, and any huge pluses/minuses one kernel offers over others.
And, yes, I'm selfishly looking for some direction. Flashing Baked Snack 1.7 right now, so I'll know how that kernel works, but I'm hoping to get educated in case there's a better option for me. Still looking out for the noobs who don't know a HAVS from a BFS.

Help with kernel

Hey im new to this I flashed the dark cocoa rom to my evo and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good kernel to flash for dark cocoa III. Also any suggestions for blacked out themes for this rom. Thank you
When I ran sense I was always with netarchys kernels so that's what I would suggest.
Thread moved to Q&A.
I run netarchy toastmod 4.3.4 cfs havs more sbs with the Cocoa III and it works great. I also downgraded my NV and PRI to 1.77 to gain better battery life and I have diffently seen a difference.
Always give the default kernel a couple of days to settle in. Oftentimes, you will find that it is sufficient for your needs. Now, my particular device seem to perform best using certain Netarchy kernels. The one in my signature is my kernel of choice....at the moment...lol.

Best kernel for a ASOP GB rom ?

What is the best kernel for the ASOP GB roms? I am looking to get the best battery life. Also links please.
I obviously prefer Tiamat but there are others too. try to find some undervolting, make sure the kernel has HAVS and viperboy has some scripts that will undervolt even more if you can maintain stability to keep your battery life going. choose the "smartass governor" with an app called setcpu
my favorite is incredikernel and try undervolting like morph3k said

Tiamat 4.0 is broken for camera. I liked Savaged-zen before the release of android 2.3.4
Tiamat 4.0.1 is released and the camera is working.
i have been using Tiamat 3.3.8 on Cm7 stable runs smooth and gives me great battery life

I couldn't post a direct download because my post count is low ( I do more reading than posting ) just go to downloads at the bottom of the page choose Tiamat Inc and scroll down to the kernel you want I would stick with the last 3 series because there are still complaints about the 4.0 kernel
The one that has been coming with new CM nightly's has been working great. I used to use Chad's latest incredikernel 2.6.37.6 (Sorry can't post link still a young Jedi). But CM's kernel has been smooth for me on nightly 68 and 69.

Which kernel to use on stock rom?

Hi, I`m trying to find out which is the best kernel to overclock my stock htc evo sense. I still want the camera & everything else to woek. I was looking at using x99kernel-sense-20110411.zip or netarchy-toastmod, Stable: 4.3.1 Beta: 4.3.4 but I dont know which netarchy on to choose & which one is better out of these 2? or this one netarchy-toastmod-4.3.4-cfs-havs-less-nosbc-universal-signed.zip. Or is there a better kernel. thanx
Start with Netarchy 4.3.2-noHAVS-noSBC-noUV. Everything works with this kernel, however, overclock incrementally to test stability. I'm not a fan of overclocking the EVO. I look for a kernel that gives me the best speed & stability as-is.

flash help Synergy Rls 1 with red hot synergy 3d theme and netarchy toastmod 4.3.4

I am unable to get mp4 videos to play. Sound plays but screen just shows white. Both streaming and native files are effected. I flashed netarchy/toastmod 4.3.4 cfs havs more sbc universal kernel. I think but am not 100 % sure the videos played prior to the kernel flash. Is there a way to fix this? If not, can I extract the original kernel from the rom and reflash it? Thank you in advance for your assistance and patience with a noob.
You are using a froyo kernel with a gb rom videos will not work, you are going to have to flash a gingersense kernel to get your video back, chopsuey, golden monkey, freedom and poonsense are the ones I can think of off top of my head, there are no sbc kernels for ginger sense.

Thanks Evil for the super quick response. Downloaded all 3 suggestions and obviously took care of my issue.
Np LOL. I flashed a wrong kernel without realizing it once I selected the wrong zip on accident and had the same issues
