Is there a navigation widget showing next direction? Or a map that shows you and has surrounding streets? If not, is it possible with current sdk to accomplish this?

How does google navigation not do this?
No widget, but you do not have to be in the navgation for it to still work. Then agian how much mutlitasking do you need while driving

Ah I see, I read his two questions as separate requests but it was a continuation. I apologize for my misunderstanding.
I believe there is a live wallpaper that has google maps as the background and does live updating on your location. Not really what you were looking for but the closest thing I think.
how about this one:

Since i could not find a good vehicle friendly one i wanted to improvise using a home screen something like the attached.
"Where I'm at" widget has been upgraded to enable zoom and direction works great as far as I can see for this. A gesture music player widget (at this time i believe is impossible from what I've read) and maybe some other small details and android could become vehicle friendly.

I don't know if I'm working this right. But basically is it possible to make it where if I click on a certain part of the widget it actually changes it to a different widget. example, so you have a clock widget that has the temperature and your cell signal. When you click on the clock it changes to another widget that is just the clock

That's currently only possible if you use Tasker to setup a task that changes a variable and pushes that variable back to Zooper. You can then use that widget to control the visibility of the modules in your widget. You would then have to use that task as an OnTap action of your widget/module to toggle between the two "versions" of your widget.

Any way you could point me in the right direction. I just got Tasker a few days ago and to be honest it's a tad overwhelming. Maybe just a nudge in the right direction??

alrighty, first. thanks so much! second, is it posable to have this also effect things like text? so, i can have a clock in one position when x=1 then have it in a second position when x=0. or just have it make it where when on 1, it appears and on 0 it disappears.

What you use it for is up to you. You'll just have to substitute the options you need like [ox][/ox] for the horizontal offset or [c][/c] for the color instead of the [bo][/bo] as in the example I have in the original post.
Not sure if this is the right place for this or if its been discussed already. If so then mods can move or delete. Just wondering if its possible to link google now and smart notice together so that you get niw updates on the smart notice widget.

The short answer is no. The smart notice widget is a standalone process developed by LG. It sort of mimics Google now but is much less feature rich. You have to use both apps/widgets independently to get the content from each.
I found that if you install zooper widget and use the LG G3 theme it opens Google now.
Does anybody know how to remove the Question mark in the Weather Widget in the homescreen? See attachment.
I was actually going to post this this morning. Whats it for? When I tap it I get a forbidden error. Screenshot attached-

I get the same thing when I tap on it. I'm sure that widget would like nice without it.
It wants you to set up the smart notice?

My Smart Notice is set up. I already set it up.
After some researching, it appears the ? on the widget is supposed to launch LG's "Quick Help". I neither would use quick help nor do I use Google Now very much (thus, dont need constant updates), so I changed the Smart Notice widget for the regular clock/weather widget. It *is* pretty cool that it changes color depending on your wallpaper, though.
Until today, all I had displayed at the top right of my home screen was the day and date. Now after trying to look something up via Maps whilst on the phone, I have weather info with the day and date underneath in a smaller font. Please, please, please can someone tell me how to remove the weather info? I don't want or need it there! I have bog standard, up-to-date Android using the default launcher app. Thanks in advance.

I tried that. Upon reboot, it showed the time. But then just a couple of minutes later it switched to weather again :\

Old thread - new information
If you're rooted ... turn off the Pixel Launcher WeatherUpdate receiver and reboot. Since it never sees the weather info it shows just the date.

Use SD Maid. Others work well but can't think of any at the moment
Also
If you're adventurous, take a look at Evie Launcher - free but not frequently updated. I'm liking the gray transparent search bar and interface options over Pixel. A little old-school, but fits me along with Chronus widget for time/date/weather.
Old thread - new information......
So the latest "incarnation" of my original issue is that using Wi-Fi, I have the data and weather on my home screen. With cell data, I only have the date! This has only been the case since either a Pie patch or a Google app update towards the end of last year.
I still have my Pixel XL with all apps and Pie up-to-date. I also have every notification I can find turned off. Google Assistant, Discover, Location.
It really grates with me that Google refuse to give us all the option of what we can/want to display on our Home screen. It can't be that difficult!

Google is the new Apple. The "our way or the highway" mentality is really getting up there.
Seems to have stopped working. Says it needs location access enabled which I've checked and it is. Removed it and put it back on home screen, restarted phone etc... But still won't show any info. If I touch on it then the weather page opens but the widget won't show any info. Was working fine previously, I think it stopped after I got the December update but not totally sure on that.
Anyone got any ideas?
Working here on Dec update.
I had this yesterday and found the issue on Reddit, somebody pointed out a fix, Open Google App, Click Profile picture top right hand corner, settings, location and set it to Always. Mine was set to always before update but magically set it's self to Ask Every Time. Once I changed it to Always it worked.

Thankyou, that's fixed it. It was on ask every time as you say. Something In the update must have changed it

Same here, did you ever find the Google LLC weather app? Seems its blocked from my S7+.
Please access Privacy from Settings. Check if 'Personalize using app data' is turned on or not. Please turn it on if not. Please access At a glance settings from home page and toggle the weather option off on. Should help.
The large material you weather widget now no longer opens Google weather info. Nothing to do with location as the widget shows. Anyone else ?

Strange the large widget still not working here on my pixel 6pro, 4xl and 4a. All up to date.
The pill widget works so does the at a glance but not the jumbo weather widget.
Google app updated and looks like it's fixed.
