This thread is reserve for nightly build of @Cyanogen Mod Rom for HTC Vision
You can report and discuss all issue you are having with nightly build here.
What are Nightly build ? : auto compil build from the CyanogenMod github, each time there are new corrections on it. This version change each night, and aren't support officialy, if you find bugs/issues you can/must discuss here.
Warning : Not for new user, flash this build only if you know what you are doing !!!
There are no Google Apps bundled with CM ROMs, because Google asked Cyanogen to remove copyrighted apps from his roms, after flashing rom don't forget to flash Google Addon package if you want it.
Gfree is needed to flash a Rom onto your phone!!!!
or
Perm Root with hboot-eng.....is needed to flash a custom ROM (still REQUIRED for the moment):
Lastest version:
Download: http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=vision

Work In Progress F.A.Q.
Work In Progress F.A.Q.
No this ROM is NOT an official stable. No support other than community is offered for it so if you cannot live without the features that aren't available, keep the stock ROM. If you ask questions that are covered here then you will be ridiculed relentlessly and admonished, you've been warned.
An important thing to remember is that this is an ALPHA, and as such has some issues which can't be foreseen, others that are actively being worked, and some that have work arounds.
If you are asking yourself the following questions, rethink this, learn some more, then come back:
What is root?
What is a recovery?
What is Cyanogenmod?
What works (besides the obvious stuff):
Most things
Wifi
Bluetooth
Wifi Calling
Wifi tether (built-in or third party)
What doesn't work:
None at this moment
Common issues and FAQs:
Recovery version issues:
You MUST use Clockworkmod recovery v3.x. You CANNOT use recovery versions 2.5.x and below as Android 2.2 used ext3 file structure and Android 2.3 uses ext4. If you ask why you can't flash this ROM and you are using Clockwork 2.x, you will be ridiculed relentlessly for not reading thoroughly.
Clockworkmod is the official recovery supported by Cyanogenmod. However, since this is an alpha release, the current 3.x version of Clockworkmod is a little buggy while it's still in development.
If you wish to flash back to Android 2.2, you MUST flash Clockworkmod recovery 2.5.x or below (or compatible). If you try to flash a Android 2.2 version ROM with recovery 3.x, it WILL NOT work!!!
Wifi Not Working

If you are sending or receiving blurry photos:

This is currently a hack developed by the CM team while they find a permanent solution. Consequently, it causes some unexpected behavior sometimes. But it mostly works.

How can I compile Cyanogenmod for myself?
See gridlock32404's post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915435
My [insert favorite app name] doesn't work right, what are you going to do about it?
Probably nothing. If it isn't Cyanogenmod's then they don't offer direct support for it, generally just service level issues that may need code changes. In CM7, it's based off Android 2.3 which some developers haven't offered full support for. Officially there's only one phone running 2.3, the Samsung Nexus S. Some known non-working apps include, but are not limited to:
Quadrant Standard
How do I install boot animations/boot splash/any other add on?
See other threads in the theme section.
What if I'm having random issues such as freezing, stuttering, force closes, or anything else?
Try these steps before posting a question about any issues to see if any of them fix it:
Reboot
Perform fix permissions, from recovery mode
Do a nandroid backup and then perform a complete data/factory wipe and flash again
Politely ask if anyone has had this issue in the thread
Do any overclock (OC) kernels work with this?
There are a few in this thread. Be warned that the CM team offers no support whatsoever for these kernels, you must ask the dev of that particular kernel about any issues you have.
What settings should I use in SetCPU?
There's really no reason to overclock your phone on a regular basis, so your safe bet is at a minimum:
Max: 1017, Min: 245, Scaling: ondemand
Screen-off: Max:768, Min. 245, Scaling: ondemand
I can't find my random issue/concern/question in this faq, what do I do now?
First, try the “search this thread” function at the top of the screen. Then try a quick google search with the device name and a general idea of what's wrong, it will probably point you back at this thread. Then do what any good tinkerer does and play around with different things and read up a little bit. If none of these gives you any results, politely ask the question on the thread and wait patiently for someone to answer who may have the same problem. It is no one's responsibility to support you in any way. After all, you bought the phone and then started screwing with it. The least you can do is be patient and try to solve the problem yourself. Who knows, you might learn something and be able to help someone else out.

Welcome to VillainROM
This bit’s the introduction. If you’re not interested in who we are, or how we got here, or are of the TL;DR mentality, then skip this entire section.
I’ve been raging recently. That’s right... raging. I’ve moved house, had NO internet connection (and still have no connection, until the 29th November), and T-Mobile then decided to block my access after 4pm for exceeding my fair usage allowance on my “unlimited” internet package. So yeah, the fact that we’ve even found time to work on and release these ROMs shows how dedicated we are to bringing VillainROM to the masses.
As many of you have noticed, I’m well and truly back in to the world of custom roms, after a few months break over the summer. Believe me, it was well and truly needed. It’s great to be back though.
If you’ve come from a HTC Hero/Desire or Magic, the chances are, you’ve heard of VillainROM. For that reason, I won’t go into who we are in too much detail. Sufficed to say, we’re a hardworking team of collaborative developers, working towards a common goal; to improve on manufacturer’s versions of the Android OS’ and to provide alternative, AOSP versions. We will no longer be providing 'experimental beta' releases, but instead, only releasing ROMs we deem to be 'final'.
So, enough of the "sales" pitch... let’s talk about the ROM!
Before I do, though, I’d just like to take this opportunity to offer a huge message of gratitude to the team at #g2root. Scotty2 and the team worked their arses off for weeks on this, and together they achieved what HTC attempted to make impossible. We all owe them a huge debt of thanks.
Well, we’re a bit later than we’d hoped on the G2 scene, so we thought we’d say hi with a bang. Well, three bangs actually. That’s three ROMs of course; we hope you like them.
The first of the three ROMs is Villision. The other two ROMs which are finished, but undergoing internal testing are coming over the next couple of days.

If you’re looking for speed, and as close to G2 stock/AOSP (without being an AOSP of course) as possible, then this is the ROM for you. Villision is our stripped down version of the G2 Stock Rom, De-odexed and with all T-Mobile branded crap removed.... with HomerSP's and my very own tweaks. We're personally using this as my daily driver, until we get around to ROM number 4, which will be a compiled AOSP build based loosely on CM6.1.
I would like to thank HomerSP of VillainROM for his assistance on this ROM, which is the first ROM we've every worked together on. He's been a legend to work with.
Villision 1.0.0 Features
- Based on OTA G2 Stock ROM
- Custom Power Menu (Reboot & Reboot to Recovery)
- Coolbho's 1.497Ghz OC kernel (thanks CM team) - We will be compiling our own range of kernels next week, so expect an update on this.
- Languages added (including GB English - that's right, colour > color)
- De-odexed
- PNG Optimized
- Zip-Aligned
- Dalvik heap tweaks
- Custom wallpaper & bootanimation (Designed by Mikebeechm and animated by HomerSP)
- Removed T-Mobile applications (bloatware)
- Removed all market downloadable apps such as Earth, etc - YOU PICK the apps you want.
NOTES:
Busybox NOT included: If you need it, download it via Titanium Backup’s ‘Problems’ link. It will download and install immediately.
INSTALL SETCPU TO SET OC!
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Boot into clockwork recovery
2. Nandroid backup if you're nervous
3. FULL DATA WIPE
4. Flash the ROM
5. Reboot!

Due to the way xda is, and the split between g2 and z sections I reccomend that if you have any important comments or find any bugs about this rom please post so on the correct section of the VillainRom forums which can be found at www.villainrom.co.uk
Also it might pay to read the g2 post for this very same rom.

For xda rule clarification, we will continue to provide support on xda, as per usual. I am just trying to make things easier for all
As i have heard the Z and G2 are diffrent on some ways and few have get problem doing stuff that was z/g2 flagged better ask is this one for pure G2 or will it even work on Z? Maybe some one have try it on a Desire Z and can tell?
I have it running on my DZ absolutely fine. Shame no HTC keyboard. Bring on the Sense ROM lads!

We have never forced OC on anyone in the past so I doubt it would have changed with this rom (I have not flashed it myself yet)
mine was overclocked to 1.42 by default, but setCpu let me change it to stock and loads inbetween. Seems like a really stable overclock too. Maybe it depends on the type of desire you have? I have a euro one.

ROM Factory
What is ROM Factory?
Its a tool that will allow the user to create a picture perfect .img from your boot and system partition. It will then create an update.zip from it.
What is a "Fruit Cake"?
A fruit cake is the finish product, a self contain rom, already ready for installation, already inside an update.zip.
So really what does it do?
It allows a bootloader unlocked user to create a full copy of their boot and system partition. All of it, including mods and changes done to either one of those partitions.
Can this be use for easier rom development?
Yes! Beyond just its normal capabilities! After installing the resources you can modify the script and add things to it in *sdcard* /fcm/workdir! Once you are done adding and changing things in there, press "Create ROM".
Supported Devices:
olympus (atrix), sunfire (photon), triumph, WX435, fb0 (triumph), p999 (lg g2x), p990 (lg o2x), p970 (lg optimus black), ace (htc desired hd), pyramid (htc sensation), galaxys2, GT-I9100, GT-I9100M, GT-I9100T, SGH-I777, SGH-I727, hercules, crespo (nexus s), crespo4g (nexus s 4g), toro (cdma galaxy nexus), maguro (gsm galaxy nexus)
Experimental Support:
umts_jordan(defy), wingray, stingray (xoom)
Your phone must be rooted!
Step One: Press the Install Resources button on screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
Step Two: Press the Create Fruit Cake button on the screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
You use this application at your own risk, I am in no way responsible for any damage this application causes.

Afaik a nandroid backup is everything including data folder. This one i think is a little less than that. As op said it copies the rom so devs can pass them to their beta testers etc. A nandoid backup is including ur personal settings like bookmarks or last viewed webpages and contacts etc. And a nandroid backup is recovery dependant. Afaik a nandroid from a cwm v4 base wont be suitable for a phone with a cwm v5 phone.

1.6 - The update that took a month. Will be release today. This will be amazing. I'm just waiting on testers.
Advance Mode
Apps Mode
Back Up Mode
New look
Open Source components
New site, new forums, new devices.
The update will be made available late tonight or early tomorrow. Depends on how tire I am after i get off work.
We are alive and kicking. Since release, Fruit Cake Maker has been downloaded 1,956 times. We are 556 active developers. A total of 12 bugs have been crushed. We currently work on 20+ devices and devices variants.
Nightlys and experimental.
Starting Feb 1st or 2nd. My build bot will begin auto compiling nightlys for those who want to experiment with the latest changes. Nightlys will be compile each night and made available no later than midnight.
An experimental build will begin to be compile mid Feb. the build will be compile every friday at 6pm. The experimental build will feture a different preference screen, and will require the user to specify all the variables. ie: boot location, system location, storage, mode. so on. This build aims at enthusiast who wish to use the tool on a non supported device.
FCM now has requirements. Busybox must be installed to use the back up mode.
Thank guys for your support.
I think it's great personally, used it on DHD also with ease.
I'm surprised this project doesn't receive more attention.
It certainly deserves it.
Many thanks
Wow. If I get it well, it create a flashable zip image of your current installation, with apps etc?
Wow. That will be a lot easier to share beta ROMs in the future.
Many many thanks.

I'm currently waiting on Google.
I submitted the new version into the market, but somehow i ended up with an older version being available for download. hopefully this issue will be solved soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
1.6 finally!
Some of the testers are reporting errors with the new modes, but changing storage location seem to be working quit good. I will be writing a tutorial on how to properly use all the new modes. Regardless, this new version requires Busybox for app mode, and back up mode. It must be installed on /system/xbin << same location used by cm7 and cm9. I will be releasing a new version tomorrow or Thursday, to fix some of the new mode woes.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Very good work!
Awesome! keep the good work, I will try it tonight from home.
Sounds Great
Hello,
The ROM Factory sounds like a great Idea, im not a developer but i can see why its great for devs,
Question is, will it be useful for just a user like I am?
if i am to use it to back up, how does it differ from Titanium and CWM NAND backup?
Thanks

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even system components individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better. Now for every element that you like choose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself.
This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

Camera does not work
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.

Really looking forward to this! Unfortunately, with no camera, it's a deal breaker. Also, is it possible to include a not workings and workings box on the OP to make it easy to reference? Thanks!

The memory management was changed from ICS to JB, and with the camera libs being proprietary (Sony won't release source), a lot of work remains to make the camera work. However, on a positive note, we may be able to use libs from a different Xperia device as soon as Sony ships JB for one of them.
FWIW, camera aside, with the latest changes from FXP137 this rom runs very smooth and seems quite stable :silly:
Hope Sony releases them cause that is the only thing that is making me not flashing them
Is there any interest in a CM9 based version of Paranoid with a working camera? Or should I just put the project on hold until Sony releases JB camera drivers in the next couple months?

A couple months seem so far yet it seem so close. Hopefully, sony would release them in a few weeks. But seeing how the latest line of flagships are still ICS, it would be a miracle for them to release drivers anytime soon.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but is it possible for you to create an updated version of Paranoid with the newest build of CM10? It seems that the newest one finally has working camera.

Introducing MROM-d2att. Custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S III SGH-I747
Free Yourself and Feel the Difference
This is my attempt to build a stable, complete, and fully functional custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S III completely built from source code; MROM-d2att is built on top of Cyanogen ROM latest 4.2.2 (cm-10.1) source code, branched kernel, and my own blend of proprietary drivers. I recompiled all components to guarantee maximum efficiency and performance. Along the way, I realized that I needed things to work different for the d2att, so I also made some changes. If you like my work, consider a donation to my cause.
BUILT FROM SOURCE PROOF https://github.com/MROM. Every developer should provide proof that he is building from source.
MROM-d2att is entirely build from source. You will see the difference when you run it. Just to list a few features:
Entire ROM and Kernel are compiled and optimized with Linaro toolchain 4.7
Superior Performance. (User benchmarks have reported excellent performance)
Latest Kernel 3.4.x (http://www.kernel.org)
Fast Boot time
Multi-User Enabled
Excellent battery life
Contains all the most common tweaks
QuickPic gallery application
While I tried to maintain the main core small, size is not the main focus.
Few user comments:
Oleschuldad: this has been much more reliable then the other 4.2.2 roms I've flashed, no random reboots, no lags, or a2dp problems....
CQCmaster: The best Rom in terms of performance and battery life and stability.
JoeSchmoe22: I am happy to report that the BATTERY LIFE IS AMAZING!!! I am a heavy user and now my phone lasts all day! Also, the Rom is totally stable!
draco259: Maybe you need to add some bugs to get more comments
1heffer: This thing is rock solid, simple, beautiful, and FAST.
jimmur: I have tried a number of different ROM's and this one is the absolute best.
Suggestions are always welcome!!! After all, this is your ROM and I will try to include requested features when possible.

It's not misleading to give his own opinion about other roms that he's tried.

Is it got any extra settings in "system"???or same as in cm?
Re: [ROM] MROM-d2att [4.2.1][CM10.1] build:20130210
ROM is pretty nice. I don't really know what the difference between regular cm and this is though. What are the most common tweaks that is stated in the OP?
P.S. The theme is by DustinB right? Maybe you should credit him in the OP so people can search for his other works, which are magnificent as well.

Thanks for liking my ROM. The theme is from dustinb, he is given credit in the changelog on github... regarding the tweaks and stuff, that goes on how I build and assemble. The method has worked well on other devices, so it might work well for SGS3...
I am waiting for you guys to tell me how the rom runs and any optimizations you might want included in it.
I am pretty open for suggestions to make this a stable and reliable daily driver, but I rely on you guys to help me do so... as a testimony, my previous work speaks for itself.
Hope I answered your questions...
Is there supposed to be an 'Mrom settings' option in the settings menu because I can't see it, nor do I see a developer option.

Settings are embedded in the regular settings menu, as fas as developer and performance, you have enable by pushing 7 times Settngs->About Phone->Build Number.
Developer and Performance are not for everyone...

LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform.
This is an unofficial build of LineageOS for the Pixel 2 (walleye). I always liked Lineage (and its predecessor CyanogenMOD) as well as the Google line of phones. Unfortunately having a Google Pixel phone isn't certainty for a lot of custom ROMS anymore, so that's why I decided to compile my own version. It's been quite challeging, but I think I finally have a build that is good enough to share.
About
This ROM is is always built straight from the LineageOS sources found on https://github.com/lineageos. There are only 3 changes in order to get this build:
The binaries for this ROM come from AICP
GApps are compiled with the ROM from MindTheGapps including the Pixel specific bits for unlimited photo upload for instance
Disabled Android Verity Boot (AVB), so we don't get the security warning when booting
I am not a developer, I only build this ROM and it reflects the the current status. If there are any things missing or not working I suggest to contact the LineageOS team, they are the real geniuses here and deserve all the credits. I will try to keep this ROM updated on a regular basis.
First Installation
Installing the ROM can be a little hard, especially the first install. Upgrades will be relatively easy though. This first setup is only needed when coming from a different ROM then this. I can't support you if you did't follow this first installation. Be warned it will wipe your user data in the process
In order to get the initial setup and also to use the same vendor partition as the ROM you have to install the latest stock Pixel 2 image from Google found here. More info on unlocking your phone and installing the latest Pixel image can be found in the excellent post by @nathanchance found here. The bestway to flash a stock ROM in my opinion is @Deuces' script found here. The benefit of this is that it'll flash the image to both slots, so they are both on the latest build, including the bootloader and radio. All instructions for using the script are inside the forum. After flashing the image make sure you reboot at least once (no need to set it up now though).
Place the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and root from (Magisk or from LineageOS (not tested) on the phone and reboot to recovery by using the command line (fastboot boot twrp.img)
Wipe 'data' and 'Dalvik / Art Cache' from TWRP - Wipe - Advanced Wipe. Optionally you should also delete the Android folder on your internal storage through the TWRP File Manager
Flash the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and reboot the phone
Upgrades to new version
After the hard initial work to get the ROM installed it's going to be easy for upgrades to new versions.
Download the new ROM and reboot of flash to TWRP
Flash the new ROM and optionally TWRP. If you want to flash another kernel or a root solution you will have to reboot you phone, so it switches slots and let it boot normally. Then go back to recovery and flash in this order: TWRP - kernel - Magisk and reboot
After a monthly update from Google and only when LineageOS also adapted to the latest monthly sources (I will tell you this) you will have to do an extra step:
Download the latest Lineage OS ROM and place it on the internal storage
Download the latest image from the Google Factory Images site and run Deuces' script. No need to wipe your data!
After the script finishes it automatically boots into the bootloader. From here fastboot into TWRP and flash the previously downloaded new ROM, optionally followed by TWRP.
Optionally, after a reboot you can flash Magisk and/or another kernel.
Not working
Substratum
Use Powerbutton for flashlight when Ambient Display is set
Active Edge
Now playing

I'm not maintaining this project anymore, download link has been removed.
Happy flashing
Miraculous... Will flash soon. Thank you for keeping Pixel 2 relevant.

I don't have a clue. It just seems that anyone who posts a ROM gets the thread closed. It's almost as if they don't want walleye to have any development.
Just check this forum out compared to the pixel XL 2 forum.
Thanks very much for sharing this. I've got it installed and it's running fantastic.
Everyone who has had a rom thread has closed the thread for different reasons, time, family, frustration or lack of support etc...
I see don't see why we should be negative and assumee the same is the case with this build. Every rom thread has produced better and more stable builds as time progressed.
@Joregen2009, I have seen your name around before, appreciate you building!!

It's my pleasure. I only wanted to share my build, because I know that many of you much be as frustrated as me for the lack of ROMs for our device.
We'll see how long this thread will hold. If it's up to me I'll try to provide at least a weekly build from the actual sources, or whenever there are some major changes in the sources that are important for our device until the Lineage Team declares our device official. Let's hope that happens soon and that this thread can contribute to that.
Awesome! Thanks for this ROM. Any known issues one should be aware of before flashing?
Does Lineage have Substratum support ?? Having trouble connecting......
Update. Found answer - : no substratum support
@jorgen2009
Hey thanks so much for the ROM. Its working great!
Is there any chance you could link me the kernel source for this specific build? (Pixel2)
I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild it with the drivers for my TP-LINK WN722N V1.
I really don't know what I'm doing but I'm trying to learn.
I'm trying to follow this guide to accomplish this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338179
I do have Kali for Magisk up and running just fine.
Lsusb command shows my WiFi Adaptor but the kernel won't let me use it.
Thanks so much for reading, if what I'm trying to do is stupid feel free to let me know why haha. If I get it to work I'll share it with everyone.

Sure, see LineageOS sources on github, I didn't touch the kernel in this build:
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_google_wahoo
I am still getting the security warning when booting. Am I the only one so I missed something?
Other question: is the Trusted Faces not working because the used GApps package has not been modified for the Pixel, or the ROM has got some incompatibility issue?
Great job. Just a little bug: Long press power button to turn on torch is not working when Ambient Display is set to always on.

Are you sure you are on the April vendor? Your vendor version must be the same as the ROM needs (currently the April one).
Trusted Faces is GApps related yes, it's not in MindTheGApps. I'll try to make a build with OpenGApps in to see if that works. Both Face Detection for Media and Face Unlock are in the Nano package (https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Nano-Package)

I'll put it in the known issues list in the OP later this week for an overview
Another build is up. This time I used OpenGapps so you might need to clear the Store cache. I had no problems upgrading myself. The Text-to-speech improved a lot with these Gapps for me.
New in this build is the LED light when charging and some basic stuff for more compatibility with our device and some networks. Also all the normal changes since the last build for LineageOS are in of course. For the download link see the OP. I also adjusted the OP a bit to show the things that are known not to work. Let me know if I missed something so I can adjust the list
