Did you try that?

Suggestion: wipe then do restore.
Suggestion 2: turn of wireless connections let it sit for a bit, then turn it back on. Let it sit for at least 30 sec. That way it cuts the connection and reconnects fresh

Hows he supposed to do that without a data connection? Check your settings and all the obvious stuff first. Then try roms, radios, etc. I had the same issue with a hero, and it ended up being the phone. If under a year, it will be covered under htc warranty. Sprint replaced mine for free after having it for 8 mo.

I don't believe so. I forgot to mention I'm on CM7 Rom and AOSP roms don't offer a EPST which can be critical with this phone being flashed. I'm getting a Sense rom now and gonna see what I can do.

[Q] Evo 4G Flashed to MetroPCS, help with web and MMS?

Hi there, I have an Evo 4G that has been flashed to MetroPCS.. It is working great, but I want to get web and mms working... I looked around, but no one seems to have the info or what to do. I am on CM7, newest build... can someone please point me in the direction, not Metrodroid or MetrogenMod, those did not work at all for me, to a way to get my web and mms working please? I am a noob at flashing between carriers so I would need a pretty thorough explanation... Thanks. You can PM me your Skype or other chat service so we could talk easier or just post here. Thanks!

You need to be on a sense rom or use go SMS pro to get mms working, web has to be on sense to set up then u can change roms you need a sense rom with a working Epst.apk and you have to change some settings, google "evo4g metropcs web mms settings Epst" I'm not on metro but that should get u moving in the right direction to getting up and running, just remember it all has to be done on a sense rom preferably stock rooted with a working epst and then once its set up u can restore your cm7 nandroid or flash any rom you like. You'll need metros prl and apn settings along with ha and AAA secret codes, from what I remember I'm sure there's probably more but Google is your friend check howardforums I think they have guides for metro there

did you get the other phone "metroflashed"? You will need to have that done first if you haven't already.

any luck? I'm in the same boat - can't get data or mms working. The mms I don't really care about, can't even get data working after following bloody's guide to the T!

I bought a sprint htc evo 4g black fully flashed to metro pcs, but it has no web n mms. MetroDroid v.4 is already running on the sd card, but still nothing with web and mms.

Do u have qpst and happen to know your msl?

[q] epic 4g boost mobile: To do/not to do?

I got my Epic flashed over a month ago. but they didn't give me the donor phone. I have switched Roms with no issue,but when I manually updated my prl, i lost 3g and my network connection. It called verizon when 611 was dialed. So, I ended up having to take the phone back to the guys who flashed it in the first place.
Long story short...to keep from having to pay theese guys more $ that I don't have, I have not made any changes to the prl or modem.
1. Am I screwed by not having the donor phone in my possesion?
If not...
2. what is safe for me to do with my epic, and what's not?(software wise)

I don't really know if not having the donor phone is going to hurt you or not... but I would not be updating prl or profile...

they are having problems with that prl you need to switch it

Need cdma workshop and its time to learn cdma flashing. I dont suggest flashing to boost though. Its super illegal. If u need help just pm me and i can get you squared away.

its already been switched to 40418, which is ok but kinda slow.

I really new to the scene and I have searched a lot trying to figuring this out but not luck so far
I flashed Jelly Beans 16 to my t889 almost a week ago, after reading that it was compatible with my tmobile GN2 even though is for verizon, everything works great but I can't get the mobile data to work correctly. push notifications wont work, apps that requiere internet wont work... Edge icon says I’m connected, APN settings are correct, the only thing that works is whats-app while on mobile data, or opening a web page in the browser (but it takes ages and I will get connection errors most of the time), so somehow its receiving data.
After much reading, found and app that displays mobile connection info and indeed it says I'm connected and how much data has been downloaded/uploaded already... it also says the radio is unknown!!!!! (please see the attached images)
How can I fix this??? any help will and is totally appreciated
my guest is flash a radio that is compatible with this rom but I can't find any info in how to just do that. I already flashed the T889UVBMB4 modem and it stills says radio/serial unknown/(some numbers) so I assume that the modem and radio are a different thing... are they?
Can anyone can point me in the right direction???

You will need to flash something that works. Wipe everything. Move it to your phone from your PC. Always make a backup.

what I did was boot in recovery mode, installed modem for my baseband. using cwm. wiped all data, cache, davlnk. installed new rom, which is compatible with my phone without a radio using cwm,. rebooted normally. probken persist.

I went to the phone company today and no one could even give me a logical explanation to what was going on with the phone!
I can use whatsapp, navigate slow as hell, but push notications wont work no matter whaT!! I don't think anymore that my problem is the rom as I flashed stock and same thing NADA!
But the think that got me really frustasted was the "phone expert" at the company after taking the phone in his hands for a minute, came up with all his wisdom: "everyrhing is ok you can navigate; but wont receive push notifications"

Under setting/network/more settings/network type/see if it is checked at 4G,LTE

I checked that but no no!!
Is really weird! I can receive whatsapp notifications, browse slowly as hell but waze and push notifications wont work... in the other phone company they just inserted their sim and voilà! Waze was working as it should!

odin isnt where you loose your imei its flashing roms u shouldn't... go to mr Robinsons no trip root thread... download the files and flash in odin.....I don't get why people are scared of odin.. its a lifesaver.

Odin is the reason I will never leave Samsung again. It's so easy to fix a brick if you mess up.

Thank you! Honestly I read a post here that advised against using Odin... as I newbie I take advises really seriously until I have the knowledge to make educated choices , I will make a backup of my phone using cwm and then flash stock with odin just to see if I can get the edge signal to work without any glitches, if not... I will reload the backup and go back to the rom Im using (which I luv)and change phone company!

If you go in about phone, status, does your IMEI match the one on the sticker under your battery?
Check the baseband listed there as well, is it a Verizon or a T-Mobile one?
Verizon has some HSPA support for roaming, but I'm not aware of them having AWS enabled.
