[Q] BlackJelly v0.7 ROM issues sgh-t999 total noob question

hi guys. im very new to this. sorry if this has been asked or addressed else where..
however, i have rooted my sgh-t999 for tmobile. and i have applied BlackJelly v0.7 ROM. i have noticed a few issues with it. or is there a better rom out there
1. i seem to have lost 4g
2. not able to send and or receive pix as before
everything else thus far seems to be working like a champ. i really like the interface. is there an update that i may need or is there another issues list somewhere?
any help would be great appreciated. thanks

Check your IMEI.. Make sure it isn't 0

If your talking about the 3g icon only showing and not 4g, that's just because it's a sprint base. You're actually getting 4g.

yes it is the icon it says 3g. but then i kept getting the anonymous sender and cant receive the pix and it is take 5-10 minutes to send a pic, where as before it was not the case.
@ Chrisram88 Check your IMEI.. Make sure it isn't 0 what is this and what should it be set to?

Menu=settings =about phone =status... Check for imei number and that it isn't 0.it should be a long number. Don't post what it is just let us know it isn't 0

You good then. Are you familiar with radios and flashing those as well? Hold up ill link you to the thread. There is a map that a member made which shows which radio works best for your location

yes,that definitely helps a lot especialy for the pic msgs..

Okay so i did all the flashing. How do u get your imei # in metro database? Figured id have to call tomorrow. Also is there anything that shows i did it right without having it registered with metro. Cause all the "my info" things still read sprint and my old sprint # or is that something that gets fixed when i dial the activate thing once I'm on metro database?

if still shows your sprint settings that means you did nt do it right,
please make sure to follow this steps..
Power on the handsetEnter ##000000# or ##468346#*and select EditPress "Touch Here" to start editing informationEnter MDN (10-digit phone number) and press enter on bottom rightEnter MIN (10-digit phone number) and press enter on bottom rightSelect Done when finishedPhone will powercycle and programming is now complete ...
then if you already have the metro prl on the phone dial *228 option 2and if you get to metro authomated service you are good...

Mike, have you checked out Ting? We moved all 4 of our E4GT phones to Ting. Same Sprint network. I hooked up with T-Mobile. Got a T-Mobile E4GT rooted running Liquid Smooth. I kinda want to try PAC-ROM, but gonna let this run. I messed up and didn't backup the stock ROM. I "deflowered" the phone with Carbon ROM. Enjoying my E4GT once again. Thanks for the hookup.

Little help for a friend.

My buddy just got an s2 and is on boost mobile. Can someone push me in the right direction so i can root it. Thanks.

Go to Rwilco repository and follow the trail to one clicks for your device..very specific. Easy to navigate. Choose..download..pc odin one click of choice..then enjoy.

Use chainfire's ExynosAbuse if its on something older than FL12. If its FL12 or newer, use the oneclicks.
ExynosAbuse will get you stock rooted with no muss, no fuss, no PC required.

I am still wondering if its safe to flash sprint stock ROMs to boost phones and will they work or do you have to mess with the apns.

You have to edit the MMS APN. I just did it for a friends boost flashed phone on GB27.

Was it a sprint phone flashed to boost? Or a stock boost phone that you just ran the jb ROM on? Cause in my situation I have a stock boost s2 that I want to run the gb27 leak on.

Sprint phone flashed to boost but even for you it will be the same I imagine because the GB27 is sprint specific unless they release a specific boost mobile GB27.

It is very easy to change the mms apn. Once you root it just get the MSL code, go to ##DATA# via the dialer, go to other, find mms there and change it to the boost mobile APN for mms.
I'm not sure if that's the exact place to edit the MMS as its been a while since I went to ATT and their samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket.

If you're gonna use a jb rom then that exynos abuse didn't work for me since I thibk they fixed the patch in the new leaks or updates or something. .which is why the one clicks thru pc odin are sooooooooooo much easier.
For what its worth

Sprint/boost/virgin doesn't matter the hardware is IDENTICAL as well as the software. The only thing you need to do to run a sprint rom on boost/virgin is edit the mmsc/mms apn other than that everything else connects to the exact same network using the exact same interfaces. The mmsc/mms apn is just the weblink that mms is routed thru for each carrier.

Cause these questions aren't being asked in a development thread, and the op has some semblance of common decency.
Asking for help in general or q&a is fine. Demanding to be spoon fed in a dev thread is not.

Another trick that might be even easier is there is a tool in the market I believe its called APN backup . I flashed a couple phones to cricket back on the day and you could just backup the apns before flashing. Then save the XML file somewhere safe then after your done messing with your phone and configured it how you want you can download and run the app again and do a restore. Effectively restoring the apns you had backed up this is an easy fool proof way to keep the APN settings exactly intact.

Invalid now, google stopped applications of being able to modify the APN starting on ICS I believe.

I would have to agree with the pc odin. However, I flashed agat's GB27 repack and it works great on jb(Jellyverse 1.0). Love the no drama thread as well

I've heard that the use ofthe repack is hit and miss. Some of the problems arise on a reboot where it doesn't recognize sd or pd apps. So most of the devs recomend to flash repack to flash mods and tweaks..then flash atock jernelejuat before rebooting out of recovery.
But like i said its been hit and miss according to different threads

Is there anyone working on a port for Ubuntu touch os? I have found this but its pointless with out calling and 3g

Also worthless for this phone since that port is for the Epic 4g . And no, I haven't seen this floating around but if I come across something I'll let you know!

Sorry my brain has been puzzled lol. Developing and raising a new born baby isn't the best I hope to see this on my phone also this is off topic but out of no where my MMS stopped working. Texting/calling/data work fine. I have the beanstalk ROM and I called VM they said I need to update my profile due to an outage near me. But with cm10.1 I cannot update prl any idea what I should/could do

I know the feeling about newborns . You're on cm10.1, have you tried opening your apns using voice dialer and making sure it's set on VM's mmsc. I'm not for sure but I think beanstalk is Sprint based. Try that and see if it produces fruit

No 4G/ 0 IMEI

Hi guys, this is my first post on here, I've been a user of here for a while always trying new Roms and APKs and what not but I recently stumbled upon my own problem.
So I recently went from Liquidsmooth 2.8 to Liquidsmooth 2.9, i love the rom. I've been a fan of this team for several months now. Any ways I've noticed my MMS and 4G Internet was not working after my jump from 2.8 - 2.9. I managed to find a Mms.apk that worked for me and now my mms is working (able to send and receive pictures)
But I can't get my 4G to come back. Without wifi my data speed on my phone is extremely slow compared to what it was before when my 4G was working. I tried flashing the modem but that didn't fix it. I also noticed my IMEI went missing. I'm not sure if this is the reason for it but can anyone direct me to a fix or something?. I've uploaded two screenshots of some info on my phone. Thank you.

Check your PM's.

This is always sucky, you probably didn't backup your imei either. Pretty sure doc sent you to a restore link or something he got you covered, but for everyone else BACKUP YOUR IMEI.

Hey Doc I ran into the same problem, pretty new to all of this. I flashed a rom , it erased my imei and no 4g. I was able to get my imei back with nv gen and nv writer but no luck with data speeds can you help me out please?

I have the same issue, can someone help us please?

Search imei inject. I had same problem but fixed it.
