Hi
Try this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php
or this:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
Try this
If you're a noob like myself,
I suggest you used code unlocker because people say it's safe and using flash or other softwares have chances of bricking your phone. Especially when not skilled like you and myself, I wouldn't try unlocking it myself. Also, when you flash it, they say that your phone gets reset, therefore you will lose some data in your phone. If you like to though, I guess you can. Try this link, I just failed to find the 'Hard spl' and I believe this file is used to flash your phone although I'm assuming you don't really know what I'm talking about.
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/index.php/t-614384.html
If you want to use the code, do this:
Through ebay/kijiji or etc, you can find people where they sell codes and instructions.
I am also considering to unlock my phone so I have done some research and I found this website.
http://www.buyinnet.com/index.asp
or you could try this one too.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/unlock-code-ROGE...14&_trkparms=72:1215|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
I'm pretty sure you can find many other ones tho.
I heard from many people that unlocking with the code is very safe so I suggest you do it this way.
I hope this helped!
I found a program to unlock mine, just run it and it pop'd up saying unlocked, using orange branded phone now unlocked, think I just searched unlocking diamond on google and one of the sites had a program to do it, can't say it hasn't damanged it but since running it can now use my simcard in it
don't know the name of it, spent a good while looking forsomething to do it mind, don't think i still have it either (forgot to backup everything before trying out windows 7!)
Instead of using risky software go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3334617&postcount=488
And follow instructions for free unlocking - this will NOT security unlock your phone, only SIM.
And search the net. Solution is there. I don't want to post other links, because they are "politically incorrect".
Good luck.
P.S. EXTREMELY important. If you have GSM phone NEVER EVER use the unlocker from ppcgeeks - it's for CDMA ONLY and will properly brick your phone (requiring change of the mainboard).
I just unlocked a brand new HTC G2 Tmobile phone. I used my sim card thats been active for years, Its Cincinnati Bell Wireless prepaid. Should work fine, but now its saying "No Service" and wont make calls/texts? Can anyone help plz?
Did you use gfree to unlock it? Worked fine for me. Try going into settings and manually searching for network, and restart 2-3 rimes. Worked for me.
No i went thru a service. it was unlockthatphone dot com
ill try that tho....
Well there's no need to.
And I dont want to be the one to tell you, but you might not be able to get service again, even with a T-Mo card. I've read that a lot of people had that problem with the unlock codes.
Well i couldnt figure out how to unlock it. Looked for hours and the guides here were so confusing id rather pay 30.00
How do i figure out if it will ever work again or not?
Someone mentioned I wireless might be CDMA and tmobile was not? Any clue how to check this?
As long as the carrier uses sim cards it's a GSM carrier (99% of the time, I know Verizon Global phones use simcards too.) if that's what you meant.
And for your question try some searching. I never bothered to find/read up on that since I unlocked it without a hitch.
I called the guy back that unlocked it for me, and he states "its impossible for an unlock code to damage 'ware in the phone, the guys on xda dont know what theyre talking about" and that he will work with me to fix this, he says hes pretty sure its my Baseband Version which is:
Baseband version 12.22.60.09bU_26.02.01.15_M2
Any thoughts on these?
Also this is from the HTC forums: http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/android/f/99/p/7564/33750.aspx
Actually I've unlocked my phone with an unlock code that Tmobile gave me. Customer Service said you just have to be paid up to date to get an unlock from them.
It may just be that the G2 is on a different carrier band than the carrier you were hoping to use.
Unfortunately, the onus is on you to look it up, I wouldn't expect the customer service for your company to know if your phone will work on their network or not.
so whats the deal ... If I unlock my G2 with a unlock code from TMobile; so I can use it when I head the Philippines on vacation ... I wont be able to get service even with Tmobile ???
There are reports of unlock codes not properly working on the phone all over the place. After entering in the unlock code, some phones simply cannot find a network no matter what SIM is inserted (even one that might have been working before). I met one dealer who said the same thing as your guy (unlock codes can't do that to a phone and people on the internet are stupid), so I had him try inputting in the code himself---the phone became messed up and all he could do was apologize. Some phones work fine though.
You can fix this weird state by running gfree to get subsidy unlock (there are at least two really long threads explaining this). Check out the wiki for instructions on how to do this.
Your phone unlock guy just wanted to get his $30. He knows full well that the carrier-unlock function in HTC VISION is ***DEFECTIVE***.
Problem is that the eMMC chip on the phone is write protected, so the unlock needs to be relayed through to a second mechanism and applied AFTER REBOOT, but it gets corrupted and instead of writing "0000" into the specified location on the eMMC chip, it will in some cases write it ***ENCRYPTED*** -- some function of your unlock code. Ends up being locked to a (most likely non-existent) random carrier, and the unlock code will no longer apply.
Once it has been damaged like this, the ONLY way to fix it is by running "gfree" on it, which would have unlocked you SAFELY and FOR FREE to begin with.
Find the button at the top of the page labeled "wiki" and find HTC VISION in there, and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! This will cure your phone.
Wow Android is alot more extensive than windows phone. I'll try th e gfree but I really dont have that much experience on this phone. I barely temp rooted and overclocked this to 1427mHz. And barely reading all the perm root and s-off threads right now... I hope I can do it to mine and my wifes phone without messing something up. I tried abd and I cant seem to get it to work right. When I tried temp rooting. Can I do gfree without a computer can I do everything on the phone without abd???
Well for carrier unlocking, I think you can only do it with adb, but what do I know.
Ok so the one is carrier locked or whatever. I need adb to unlock it? and gfree to unlock my unmessed with one. Where do i find these programs and instructions to use them. Im PC literate but cell phone retarded. thanks in advance! I dont wanna pay to unlock these.....
Ok ive done a little more research. I have the JDK and the SDK kits installed. Im preparing to use GFREE. But now im stuck. my SDK MANAGER says the following error when i try to boot it up.
Failed to execute tools/android.bat:
The system cannot find the file specified
What am i doing wrong? im trying but its a slow process.

Navigate to the tools folder and see if there is a file inside called adb.exe. If so, download and unzip both the temp and perm gfree zip files from the wiki into that folder. You should be ready to go. When you connect your phone to the computer via usb be sure that you have the usb debugging checked (on).
Im so lost. the company is willing to refund the amount i spend to unlock the phones, so im just gonna have it done that way. Will the one with the locked carrier be able to be unlocked by a professional?
I got the temp loaded, the ADB loaded, the tools loaded. But this is what comes up

Ok guys. Im desperate. Here is what Id be willing to do.
Im offering $20 to whomever can help me. Heres what I need.
I have 2x HTC G2 That need the FULL UNLOCK. Not the code, THE UNLOCK.
Im told its done thru this GFREE program. I am NOT smart enough to figure this out after days if trying. If someone can do the following thing for me, Ill donate that money straight to your paypal account.
-Send me a ZIP file with ALL THE NECESSDARY folders, with ALL THE NECESSARY files already placed in them, I plug in USB unlock phones, u get paid.
(I need ADK files, JDK files, all gfree files, EVEYRTHING i know itll be a big zip, but im payin so i dont mind)
I am unable to figure out these files, I am either installing the SDK files wrong or something, but I just need the files ALREADY placed in a file and just use them since im too stupid to do so desite reading many guides. Sorry ive tried. Now i just wanna use my phones.
My U.S. Cell TP2 won't security unlock when I run the unlocker I purchased. I put a ticket but it's been over 12 hours or so. I've tried to do just about everything I can think of and have been flashing back and forth between ROM's about 15 times now. I understand I must be patient but can someone please help me so I can use my phone I did pay and I will be happy to do the remote unlock too if I can get someone to just tell me what the problem is. I'm a little skeptical because I thought this was supposed to be guaranteed to work. I did manage to change the Radio by flashing to a Sprint ROM and then reflashing the ROM back but that was it, still won't let me use and keeps reverting back to U.S. Cell. I am a noob but I am not that much of a noob. I think I pretty well understand what I am doing here and how things works and have spent a lot of time reading. thnx if u can help me. It is greatly appreciated. The error it keeps giving me is: "Device in flight mode or IMEI must be purchased" (Device is not in flight mode)
I was able to get it registered to a brand new T-mobile sim card I purchased. That doesn't explain why another currently active sim card I was using from a friend didn't work though. I never was able to use/install the unlocker. I would like to know if you can run the unlocker multiple times or would it give you an error message? Has anyone tried this?
I'm still experimenting. So this is of course subject to change depending on how confused I find out I am
Well, first things first...
I am a noob, and this is the first time I am using an android phone (moving from the Nokia N97 and Nokia C6). So please be patient (and tolerant).
The dealer I got this phone from wasnt sure if it was soft-unlocked (the ones which get locked if you update OS) or otherwise, and he most certainly didnt have (or give me) the unlock code.
The phone has been a delight for the past 3 months, and I love the the stunned look on the faces of everyone around, when I slide open the keyboard!! However, after doing a google search I discovered that there's an ICS update for the i927. And that has resulted in me googling to find out the likelyhood that my phone will re-lock to ATT.
To my surprise (or inability), I couldnt find a definite answer/guide as to what users of unlocked i927s, who do not have the unlock code, should do exactly, to "safely" update to ICS.
I have downloaded most of the tools (Odin 3.07, EFS 2.0.7 and the "I927UCLJ3_I927ATTLJ3_ATT" stock from samfirmware). And I had KIES and the drivers installed from day 1.
But the problem is that I dont have a road-map. Or a troubleshooting guide, in case I encounter unanticipated errors/crashes.
The other thing is uncertainty about the phone getting "re-locked". Some mobile repair guys say I should flash the update with my eyes closed (it wont re-lock to ATT, they say). However, the other side disuades me, and I have yet to find an across-the-counter shop which will give me an unlock code.
Of course, I think I can live without the update if I have to. But, I was hoping for a bit of help (or a step-by-step or link-by-link guide).
The other thing I want to know is whether flashing the ATT ICS update can also corrupt my IMEI details (and hence the need to back up with EFS)??
Finally, I would like mention that my phone is an un-rooted i927 (ATT) running Android 2.3.6.
Any help would be really be appreciated.
Not sure what to make of this..
The lack of replies has made me (even more) doubtful if a noob like me would be able to update my i927. I hope someone can tell me if my i927 is "updateable" or is the ICS update preferably for only the "authentic" i927 handsets??

If you have a SIM card from something not using the AT&T network, put it in. That will tell you if your phone is SIM unlocked or not (I think that's what you're asking).
In theory, applying the ICS update may re-lock your phone; it depends on how it was SIM unlocked in the first place.
My recommendation is:
1) Update to ICS (it's worlds better than GB)
2) If the phone re-locks to AT&T, then just buy and unlock code for a few dollars
phone's current status

I am already using a local SIM card on the phone (Airtel) since the day I bought the phone. All the features are working on the phone, except the WiFi tethering, which is also the biggest reason for my doubts (and reluctance) about flashing the ICS update. The WiFi tethering feature does not recognise my Airtel data connection (2G), making me to believe some features are still AT&T specific (like the ringtones feature).
The other thing is, re-locking is a significant concern, but its not the biggest concern (for me). Since I first visited the "Captivate Glide" section on this forum, I have read about problems like the IMEI number (or other important phone data) corrupting, bricking my phone (which I know no one in the world can guarantee against), or the phone getting stuck in the start up mode (read it somewhere here, although I dont know if it was an OS update related failure).
Anyways, I hope that clears up the current status of my i927, and thanks for replying.
A bit more help please...
I know I asking basic noob questions about updating, but I was hoping for a bit more guidance actually...
Like what do I do with the I927UCLJ3_I927ATTLJ3_ATT.zip file?? Do I unzip it, or just copy it the phone memory and reboot into Odin??
The other thing is I started the EFS app on my PC and connected my phone to it, but the IMEI and other numbers are just all 0s. So, I am thinking, I did something wrong there as well...
I am well aware that no one in the world can guarantee against bricking a phone. I just want to have a proper guide on how to update, so that I have the best odds possible

1. It seems you're trying to upgrade your Glide via Odin. Unzip the zip, get all the files, put them in Odin folder (NOT the SD card, Odin is a PC-based tool) in the forums to proceed.
EDIT: Google is man's best friend. This is the Odin guide I followed when just a week ago I'm still new to my Glide: http://androidromupdate.com/2012/11/10/i927uclj3-new-ics-4-0-4-for-samsung-sgh-i927-captivate-glide/
2. Your EFS may already be dead Or I don't know, never used that tool before.
Sent from Samsung Captivate Glide @ I927UCLJ3
Okay I'll still advice you use the efs tool to. Back up your efs foder, then put your phone in download mode, using Odin flash the stock ICS ROM when its through flash any of the recovery through Odin again then allow the phone to reboot. you can now flash any of the ROMs I prefer the lite ROM anyways.
Good luck.

So, I'm a total beginner with regards to understanding how to mod your cell phone, but I am tech savvy. I've spent the last week of my life attempting to understand how to Sim unlock my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 mini Sph-L520 so that I would be able to use a prepaid Straight Talk wireless card with it. At first, I thought the process was going to be rather simple. I thought I could just buy a code online. Turns out that this phone isn't a GSM phone, so this type of unlocking isn't possible. I next heard as tip about getting my phone flashed, but apparently flashing is just installing another operating system on your phone. Though I could see how that might be able get around the Sim Unlock, if possible I would like to keep this stock OS. Also, I'm not certain if flashing my phone would automatically enable me to use another carrier. I then learned what rooting was. Though I now understand that I could simply use Kingo to root my phone, I don't know how that would allow me to use another carrier. So i've spent my last week or so understanding all this new terminology, but I still don't have a definitive answer. I really want to thank this board for existing because I've learned a tremendous amount just reading these threads. So if anyone could help me out here that would be great!

I did contact sprint, they said that the phone wasn't stolen and that everything was okay. They then transferred me, but told me that they could only give me the msl code. Is that what I need? Would that carrier unlock my phone?

Does the phone have a slot for a SIM card? If so you could try following this thread step by step. Not saying its going to work but its worth a shot. Its also going to depend on what version software your on. You could always pay $30.00 and get a code from CellUnlocker.

I'll attempt it, but the method described is for a regular Galaxy S4. My phone is an S4 mini, would there be any difference?
I attempted this method, and it didn't work. The phone would not let me flash that rom with odin. It failed every time.

All you have to flash is the modem but that will probably fail also since its not for the mini. You have to find a way to get into the service menu for the mini and then it would more than likely work.

I have also tried:

Sprint L520 S4 mini is completely unlocked for use of any CDMA 1x/evdo/4G LTE services in the world. Carriers like Smartfren, Intertelekom, Reliance, Tata and MTS will work flawlessly on this phone. Only read its SPC code, make it RUIM only from DFS and insert any CDMA carrier's SIM

International/domestic sim unlock
The GSM portion of the s4 mini can be unlocked .I'm more than sure of it because I have a friend who has his own method .Look up randy unlocks on ebay.He can do it remotely and will call you on the phone and it only takes thirty minutes. I've unlocked plenty of regular Sprint s4's myself ,that process is very easy. The s4 mini would be too if you could find the modems anywhere. He has never told me how he does it but get ahold of him.
Can anyone help me ? Can you back up your radio.img from your unlock phone and send to me ?
