I'm using linux and trying to edit these images with GIMP is extremely hard to make them look smooth. I never used GIMP I'm use to Photoshop and my laptop won't boot up with Windows 7 I think my partition is corrupted. So I'm stuck with linux until I can figure out how to fix my laptop. Would someone mind editing these 4 images with the color code 8d8d8d? To match my other Gingerbread icons the time it would take to fix my laptop I would already have left for work I just need those images to release the final to my rom.
Solved-Can someone help me find these four images in the status bar that has the charcoal blackground. I just need the name of the images or if you know exactly where they are that would be even better. I've been looking all day and can't find them. I've extracted 8 roms and some themes and still can't find them.

Text message notification is in system\app\Mms.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\stat_notify_sms.png
4G icon is in com.htc.resources.apk\res\drawable-hdpi but I dont see the one with the !. There is another one in res\drawable\
3G icon. The only place I found it was in com.htc.resources.apk\res\drawable\
The USB icon is in framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\stat_sys_data_usb.png
Though I think I've changed this one before and it didnt take so there might be another one located somewhere else.
There also might be more of the other icons in additional spots but these are all I could come up with. Hope this helps.

Thanks A lot man I was would have been looking forever for the text message notification.
The 4G notification I found but I don't think that's the one that shows up but I'll try modifying it anyway to see if it works.

Sorry I'm very new to this but I'm trying to make some icons for kings new shift port but I'm not sure how to get the colors right I want something like cm7 green color with the glow not that ugly og color that comes with the phone and I don't want it to change color when the battery drops any help would be awesome I'm sure I'll get some thats why I love xda.

I hear ya, only way you will feel comfortable is to just play around man, then it starts to flow. What you mean you can't get the sdk working? I used to have a ton of sdk problems in windows, now I dual boot Ubuntu (Linux) and it amazes me how everything "just" works in Linux (which was to be expected lol)

I have vista I'm thinking if installing ubuntu seems it will be easier for me I don't know if my wife will like that though LOL its really her computer shed pissed I even use it now that I got a android .
On the uot when I pick something from icons (black status bar icons) I picked G15 Androidian thats all I want how do I get that to work I can see what it looks like do I just go right to file upload and upload the files I need to or is there something else I need to do first I'm sure I'm missing something.

Just upload the files you need (framework-Res.apk, systemUI.apk, and com.htc.resources.apk) then press submit it should work; assuming you're still on the kings sense rom.

Yeah dude its pretty easy now im sure you got it. Once it cooks your file you will have to wait anywhere from 5 min to 1hr. Just remember your pickup number lol.

Are you by chance using google chrome? I had that issue on chrome, switched to Firefox and it ran fine. It shouldn't take longer than a few mins to get the files up unless you have dial up internet.

No I'm using Firefox also and i have clear wire for internet same as my evo the phone is faster though LOL really I've retried this a few times now and it stops uploading at the same spot every time I'll keep trying I guess its my internet and it sucks the kitchen keeps closing on me and tells me to wait.
Can this b done on the phone cause not joking its faster then my computer?

That's very strange man I literally just made a theme for CM7 theme engine and it worked fine an hour ago. My internet sucks also maybe its an issue with the kitchen ATM. Hmmm

Correct. You only check what you want/need that you're adding for your zip. Ex, you found a set in the kitchen you like, check only that and it will build the zip with the files you updated.

Edit: used root uninstaller to install it to system & it worked, now only if i can get to use less memory when its running itll be perfect. can you optimize .jpg like you can with .png???

Edit: HELLS YEAH!!!!!! works like a champ perfect way to make your favorite bootanimation(up to 100 images...) into a LWP!!!!!!

But like when I make whatever I want, let's say a battery icon, and I go to summary and press submit to kitchen does it need to load a new page or what? Do I get some kind of notification or way to know that It was Successfully submited? And how do I know what file is mine when I pick it up lol? Where is the name of myy file?

Are you uploading your framework-res, systemui and twframework? Then in summary you hit submit and it tells you your filename to expect and then a link to click on to watch folr it.

In the upload settings all I have to change is the phone type to "galaxy" right? All the other settings r correct as they r?

That and upload system files needs to be checked. Then the boxes will appear for the 3 files it needs you to upload from your ROM.

ya i know about the 3 files
so i just made something and submitted it and now waiting to pick up
it still says cooked files 0 for some reason.. shouldnt that b a 1 now? it gave me my file name and gave me the link to the pickup page so im guessing it worked but at the pickup page it still says "Your recently cooked files (0)"
anyway.. i just wanted to ask about the status bar. Does it work for ours with our widgets? i dont see anywhere over there that lets me edit the widgets for a galaxy phone so does that mean my status bar wont have the widgets in it?

That's usually caused by the apks you've uploaded are not correct file type or are unable to be modded....or couble be corrupted

Yeah I got the sh&tF*ck error with CM7 Crystal theme. No one tried to help from their thread. They may have gotten corrupted in the upload process. Pull the clean ones straight out of the ROM's zip file.
Click the link in my sig for odexed theme guide. Works for deodexed too, just substitute the right files instead of the ones I give.

I did get something to work tho I used clean gb el30's files and put some stuff on it aand it worked like blue overscroll glow and a different font and even boot ani. So I guess ill play with it a little more some other time
I did also try to do one thing. I tried to change some app icons
I went into the email app and looked in res/drawable hdmi (or whatever it is) and replaced the png called "icon" (which had a pic of the email icon) with my own which I renamed to "icon" but when I flashed it it didn't change not sure why tho.

I believe that is an issue with the picture file not being synced across all servers. Try re-uploading it or just give it some time and it will get resolved.

Not normally...I have seen a few other ones like that as well in the last day, so there must be something going on there. I suggest renaming the file and then re-uploading it.

It could be a server issue, i'm having it too.....already contacted our Administrator so i guess this will be fixed asap.

Well I had this problem too. I wanted to change my avatar to a new style apple logo.
Tried different things: upload to xda/upload to tinypic, different formats, ...
Always getting a blank image (not found).
I then tried changing my profile picture, it worked. As a bonus this is now also my avatar
PS: transparant png pictures work too. Now it looks great on the 2010 theme with that non-white background.

Correct, you are on an ICS modem. ICS modems are not compatible with jellybean touchwiz ROMs

Also one more problem I have is I have a persistent voice-mail icon but when I call my voice-mail it says u have none I tried to call myself from another phone to leave a voice-mail and it gives some error should I make a new thread for this question or do you think you can help?

Unfortunately, I have never encountered any problems with voicemail.
There's probably a solution to that somewhere around here. Do some research, if you can't find anything then make a new thread for it.

To get rid of the icon, go into app manager and clear your voicemail cache. If you're not getting voicemails at all, from anyone, delete the app and reinstall it. You can get the .apk from pretty much any stock or custom rom, including Project X Good luck

Thanks man but my voicemail is incorporated with the phone app is there still a voicemail apk?

You should, yes. Go into your app manager and see if there's a "voicemail" apk, might look a bit like a tape cassette.

Just installed project x and it's great..I'm getting addicted to this flashing.only problem is network is unknown.hint..anyone have any ideas.. Other that this Rom is super..really customizable.gone take some getting used to

You can use Erikalins stock app and DL the sprint vmail then install and update and see if you can delete icon then

Hey man... just seen this after searching up a little after you're pm.. when are you getting that error( in the playstore )..I've seen that error before.. I just can't remember when or where..
Like I said in my pm.. I'll flash it in the morning and see.. but throw me a little more info so my noob butt can help... lol..
It could be as I said to ya and as I seen already answered... a modem issue.... but I'm not on it yet, so I'll see..

need a little more info to help out. What network is unknown? Data? WiFi? Did you do a clean install? Are you on the correct modem?

you should PM the maker of the ROM. His name is Bilgerryan. i looked through Erikalin's app and only say the Voicemail widget.

Same thing I found but I found a voicemail apk on themes and apps here in the e4gt forum thank you so much that worked man I'll definitely give you a thanks
