Yeah, technically, whoever you downloaded that swype package from, unless it was swype's site, is distributing it illegally, since it's a closed source and licensed app. The only ROM it is distributed in here is the rooted stock ROM that came with swype, since it's licensed for that.

Is that the one from stock the same called black glass keyboard? I had a copy, but like the rest, it said it had expired, I wonder if it was pulled out of stock or was it a beta too?

I honestly don't know, sorry. I never really use swype, I've only interacted with it once or twice, I prefer Latin IME. I didn't know they came in different themes. If it expired, I would assume it was the beta, since the one in the stock ROM doesn't expire, I don't think.
Swype isn't included in the os?

Just download "SlideIT Keyboard"
You can swype and its wayy better than the original "swype" that comes with the phone
SlideIt keyboard its a good alternative if u can't find a working swype, but it is not better then Swype...

Indeed it looks nice :O

I must have this app
I would love this, anyone find it yet?
If it is for android it would probably need permanent root to flash it as a theme and fonts. My friend has a rooted evo and thats all shes been doing is changing up the fonts and stuff. Looks very similar to what ive seen from her screenshots but ive found no way to implement them with temp root.

Looks very windows-ish
How Do I download the full version of swype?

The website...
Unless they've changed anything recently.
Have you checked the themes and apps forum (of xda)?

you can register to take part in the beta testing, that is the only legitimate way (and when the beta expires, you simply pick up a new one)
Paul is correct just signup for the beta
Anyway I suggest you to try the nuance flext9 . I've always used swype but then I tried the flex, cause I was tired of the many bugs of swype... now I'm totally satisfied! I'll never go back to swype xD

Oh ok. Where can you download that for free?

Sorry we don't support stealing apps around these parts, I'm assuming your asking about Flext9 not swype, directions for which andy has supplied below
Get the beta for free and legal here --> http://beta.swype.com
Just sign up and they will send you the download link.
Does swype not work for anyone else? When I downloaded the beta, it said it was designed for another device. It's just a regular keyboard, I can't drag/swype to type. Is anyone else experiencing this?

After you downloaded swype installer and installed it, he asks you if you want to enable swype... Click on yes and the installer will license swype -> I had the same issue
Hi! I recently install the Evo Deck Rom from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078558&page=465.
I installed the 1.3b.
Couple questions.
1) How can I put the camera on the home screen as a widget? I tried adding a shortcut and/or a widget and the camera doesn't show as an option for either.Disregard this part. I discovered it was a two level menu - Shortcut-->Applications-->Camera
2) How can I get QuickOffice back?? I desperately need this app. I was native to Sprint and now it looks like the only option is to buy it from the market for $15! Does someone have the preinstalled apk so I can reinstall it?
3) Same deal with swype. Do I need to get the apk from swype or does anyone have it available?
Thanks!

Well, the quick office that usually comes with ROMS is a document viewer right? I'm not sure if it allowed you to edit or create.. If that's the case then there's a few options on the Market for free..
And as far as swype goes, sign up for their beta app on the web. Just Google "swype beta" sign up and follow the instructions

Yeah, I found Docs To Go (MS Office + pdfs) as a substitute and I was one of the original beta testers for Swype, so my login will probably still work.
I was just hoping someone might have the other stuff. No biggie.

Been looking amd trying every version and it all does not work woth jellybean. Is there a keyboard similar to this also?
I once was a user of HTC IME, a long time user actually. I switched to SwiftKey, and use the light theme, which looks similar to HTC IME stock. I haven't looked back since due to SwiftKey having far superior prediction / auto correct. Just my two cents, if this doesn't help, good luck on the hunt.

Doubt you will find it. Remember that its a different framework, I've used HTC for years but I'm honestly not sure whether its cross compatible

Saw Swype's announcement video when it was released (was using a windows mobile back then though). Downloaded the beta as soon as I got my HTC Thunderbolt; and bought the full version now using my Sprint LGOG
SwiftKey beyond a shadow of a doubt
I use Hacker's Keyboard. It is great for use in the terminal, especially when it comes to running vi.
Newest SwiftKey is legit with flow added

It won't overwrite the stock lg one. It's officially on the play store from Google. They released it a dew days ago. It's another input option.

I have the stock keyboard installed as well, it gives me the option to update this keyboard within the play market, but won't install after it downloads. I'm probably just going to delete the existing one and try to install the one from the market.
**Update** I don't know if there was a huge difference from the aosp keyboard that what included within this rom, but by removing that version I was able to install the market version.
What ROM are you on? I'm rooted but locked. So I had no issues on the stock ROM. The more I use this keyboard the more I'm looking it over swiftkey. I didn't fully use the swiftkey flow feature. I was always letting up and pressing the space bar before continuing.

Im currently on Vectus v2, I'm positive the 4.2. keyboard was a feature of this rom.
Stock ZVB and SwiftKey are my favorite
Swiftkey is definately my favorite keyboard by far, it is so accuate
My vote is for the 4.2 stock keyboard.
