Swype beta and 2.2

I had the bets of swype working but it doesn't work with froyo. Anyone know how to get it to work?

Try reinstalling it via the swype installer...

Swype beta
I had the same problem. If you go to swype.com log in and ask for another invitation, Swype will send you a new e-mail & will send you another copy. You will have to delete both the old swype program and the old installer on your phone, then . just reinstall it and it all works again. If you did not register and got swype some other way you may be out of luck for now because beta is closed for now.

I got it to work by reinstalling. I'm a happy camper. Thanks for your help. In my search for a solution I found that they don't have a version for the evo if you weren't part of the beta. Kind of sucks

[Q/help] EvoDeck

Hi! I recently install the Evo Deck Rom from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078558&page=465.
I installed the 1.3b.
Couple questions.
1) How can I put the camera on the home screen as a widget? I tried adding a shortcut and/or a widget and the camera doesn't show as an option for either.Disregard this part. I discovered it was a two level menu - Shortcut-->Applications-->Camera
2) How can I get QuickOffice back?? I desperately need this app. I was native to Sprint and now it looks like the only option is to buy it from the market for $15! Does someone have the preinstalled apk so I can reinstall it?
3) Same deal with swype. Do I need to get the apk from swype or does anyone have it available?

Well, the quick office that usually comes with ROMS is a document viewer right? I'm not sure if it allowed you to edit or create.. If that's the case then there's a few options on the Market for free..
And as far as swype goes, sign up for their beta app on the web. Just Google "swype beta" sign up and follow the instructions

Yeah, I found Docs To Go (MS Office + pdfs) as a substitute and I was one of the original beta testers for Swype, so my login will probably still work.
I was just hoping someone might have the other stuff. No biggie.

Having problems installing the Swype beta?

I nor any of my friends can seem to get the official installer past the "parsing package" error. Was wondering if anyone else had better luck with it.

Edit: We have a couple of members who have extracted the apk and posted it here. (check this post)
Despite hundreds of complaints on Swype's side, they refuse to neither rectify nor even acknowledge that there's a real problem. In any case, XDA is here to help you.
As per Swype's licensing, only download said APKs if you are currently in the Swype beta program.

mine worked. I know of a couple friends with the same problem though.

Had that error a few times, changed over to 3G connection and worked fine.

I've tried both connections multiple times and am still getting parsing errors

i found a link on the swype forums to the apk in someones dropbox but after installing it, the keyboard is tiny (useless!) so i've uninstalled.

have the same problem u described when i downloaded the installer apk through the email link. so i went back to my prev phone and took the backup from titanium and installed it. take note of the following though:
1. if u restore both the swype installer and swype keyboard, the keyboard would end up being very small. changing orientations didn't seem to help like what others have suggested.
2. the trick is to restore only the installer. login to the installer and let it download the keyboard. you would then have a full working swype keyboard. however, this keyboard doesn't seem to be the latest one. it's slightly different from what I had on my Desire HD just before i changed over to the S3 (the button to toggle language inputs is on 'z' and not at the bottom row). the version numbers are different as well.

When it first shows up its tiny, but while the keyboard is open flip it to landscape, then back to portrait and it will be better! Better in that it will be full width of screen, but still a bit shorter than other keyboards. But I still prefer it over others.

swype beta already has chinese input

Are you guys aware that Swype is pre loaded on SGS3, just needs to be activated in settings...

been trying for days now to get swype, had to give up before i topped myself...luckily i found an app that that shmits all over swype called touchpal keyboard. wich has options to change skins, ive adopted the leather look which looks sweet

The only problem I have with it is downloading UK language but US doesn't differ too much

For downloading the UK language go in to Swype settings and language preferences, download languages then English UK wait for downloading then activate....

Kinda nice they finally implemented themes, but they need more variety which i'm sure will come in versions to come. Definitely agree with the vibration fix!

i think gestures were always there - nice to have some theme options though!

Anyone else experiencing problems with getting the installer for Swype? I am already registered on their website and I have been for nearly 2 years. I haven't used Swype in a while since I switched to Swift Key. I want to try Swype again but they are not sending me the email with the installer link. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I haven't used swype for a while, but I noticed it ask for a lot more permissions .Im about to give it another try,

I am having the same issues. Didn't recognize my password, so I did the reset. Changed it, and it still will not let me in. I think they are having some issues.

Yeah same thing happened to me I had to re register my email.so try re registering

I think they were just having some major issues with their servers.
I tried to create a new account with my same e-mail. Told me an account already existed, so I went to log-in instead, and now it lets me sign in finally.
Went back to the installer on my phone, and now I can sign in and download beta 1.3.

I hate this version of swype!!!

I hate this swype that they have on here. I LOVE swype but this version is the worst thing ever. why do i get xxx everytime i want ! and why :/ when i want ? its so dumb none of the other ones had that issue. I dont want to swype emoticons! and it seems to remember EVERYTHING! each and every typo gets stored in my personal dictionary so I have to go in there and clear it out so it doesnt always think im using that one!
can anyone tell me how to instal swype version 3.26.92d.36178.t0 like i used to have on my cyanogenmod samsung epic? also im not rooted and I dont really want to root. is it possible to change without rooting?
thanks everyone youll save me from shooting my phone the next time i swype a ?!!!

Download the Swype beta installer from Swype.com and run it. That'll help you install the latest version.
