I ordered the following case from ebay. I had ebay bucks to spend so I gave it a shot. Review to come once I get it. It's synthetic leather but I don't really care as long as it fits and works well.
REVIEW HAS BEEN ADDED NOW. SEE POST # 3 BELOW.

Any updates mate?
It took some time (about two or two and a half weeks) to get this to NY but I know that the weather was probably a factor. That being said here is the review (please note that this is a SUBJECTIVE review and if you buy based on it and are unhappy I apologize but don't hold me responsible):
Overall I think the case is of great quality. It's durable feeling and makes me much more comfortable in rough handling the device (not literally of course).
The fit and finish is really great. It fits the device like a glove. The holes and slots line up perfectly.
Profile of the Archos is not effected greatly either. I mean of course the unit will be a little bulkier in the case and slightly heavier but not to the extent that it made me dislike it. The 101 is the slimmest tablet I have held so even a silicone case would feel bulky but this fit in a rather good way.
The horizontal stand is good but not great when comparing to the one built in to the device. That is because it's not as rigid and will slide if you are pressing too hard. That i to be expected I guess since it's not a rigid stand. It does the trick for most things though (like resting on my stomach while I'm using the 101 in bed.
The concept of the vertical stand is quite flawed. It works okay again if I am resting it against my raised legs while in bed but on a flat surface it doesn't stand straight. Not only doesn't it stand straight but using it is minimal without it falling back. (This is probably the biggest flaw).
****EDIT- I am giving it 9.5 stars now and taking back the above review regarding the vertical stand. I wasn't using it right. I looked at the picture and found that you have to use the horizontal stand to sturdy the vertical one. Did that and it was great.****
Overall I give this thing 9.5 out of 10 stars. The half star is missing because the vertical setup is still a little slanted but not majorly. I think it serves as a great case and gives confidence that it will protect the case. The memory card holders are cool and the fact that you can clasp the cover around the back so it doesn't dangle while using is great.
Let me know if you have any questions.

One more thing. I am selling the case. I no longer have my Archos. The one pictured is a friends that I am selling for him also. If anyone is interested in either please let me know. Not looking to take a loss on the case so no low balling please. I will create a separate sale thread hopefully this weekend.

Hmmm, I don't think it would but I had a screen protector so I didn't even think about it. I think everyone should put a screen protector on anyway but I think the cardholder has soft edges and will not scratch.
it looks bulky is it?
just a little bit

Well I just got my new case today and thought I'd snap some pics for everyone. The only camera I have with me at my apartment is my phone so I won't be able to show any pics with the phone in the case until this weekend when I can borrow another camera. All in all I am pleased with the quality feel of the case. I really think the only way I would go to another case is if Seidio made an Innocase Active case for the Captivate.
Pros:
- Adds a bit more size to the phone making it about .625" deep, making it easier to hold
- Texture is very grippy, similar to something like a golf club grip but a bit softer
- Nifty kickstand to prop up your phone in either portrait or landscape
- Rubberized coating on the inside with felt lining on the back face as well
- Slot on the bottom used to crack apart the two halves of the case for easy removal
Cons:
- Doesn't cover the front but oh well (hopefully the "gorilla glass" does its job
- Belt clip doesn't quite feel like it will last, the hinge part is plastic and will break, although you can purchase replacements separately if that happens
- Belt clip isn't quite as big as I would have liked it, meaning it won't be wide enough to clip onto some wider belts
Here are the pics:

Thanks for the review and great pictures.
Do you happen to own the Body Glove Mirage Skin for the Samsung Captivate as well? (the flexible 1 piece version) If you do, how would you compare them, which would you prefer?
I did for about two and a half weeks, i prefer the hard case because i think it gives better protection and the feel of the case is much nicer, texture wise. The two cases seem to be very similar as far as size goes, so if you have the soft case the hard case shouldn't be a big change.
Thanks! hope to see those photos of the phone inside the case when you get a chance.
By the way, does the snap on case stick to your pants pocket making it difficult to put it in and out?
Thanks again for the pictures!
How simple is the removal/attachment of the plug used to cover the hole for the belt clip standoff?

Really easy, get like a quarter and put in the slot on the bottom of the case and turn it. You then have to pry the rest of the case open, i do it by holding the back of the case in one hand and using my other hand pull down on the phone and front half of the case to release the top clips. Press down on the little holster plug and it pops out, put the flat back plug in and your done.

It does hang a bit because it is pretty grippy, I'd compare the material to golf club grips or baseball bat grips.
Today i received the case and again i want so share some thoughts about it.
(let me say it right here: this is the best case ive seen so far and i can recommend it to everyone that is searching for a very slim case with considerable protection)
ORDER
i ordered the case from Obostore. it took 7 days for shipping...quite good for free international shipping. they also give discount if you order several pieces.
MATERIAL
i expected some regular plastic case but actually it is something i would describe as rubberized plastic.
makes the phone definitively way less slippery.
as far as i can tell it doesn't attract dust.
FIT
it fits perfectly and the cutouts on the side are made well. the phone fits very tight and doesn't move in the case (like in the zenus skin air jacket i reviewed some pages ago)
PROTECTION
if you are searching for an everyday-protection against scratches and some little drops this case should be your choice.
as you can see on the pictures the top and bottom of the phone are not covered by the plastic.
but that doesn't bother me because (unlike the samsung mesh-case) it fully covers the corners of the phone.
so if it drops on flat ground it will be fully protected. (not from great hight of course)
quite hard to explain but i tried to show it to you in the pictures below.
i tilted the phone to 45° and then take a shot that is showing that there is still some space between phone and surface (light coming through).
the camera is also covered very good so no scratches should get on it.
SCREEN PROTECTOR
the case came with a free screen protector from nillkin. i don't have any reference but i think its pretty good.
(although i messed it up by having a little airbubble in the down right corner. my fault.... )
CONCLUSION
this is by far the best case i have seen or used so far.
sure there are some cases with better protection but in my opinion they often add too much bulk and mess with the great look an slimness of the phone.
so i can fully recommend this case to you!
(if you liked this review please show by hitting the thanks-button)
(and sorry again for the bad picture-quality )

I also have one, and am very happy with it, but they seem to have a minor design flaw.
Doesn't really affect the usability of the case, hell, I didn't even notice it until someone on another forum pointed it out, and I doubt I ever would have if they hadn't.
what flaw are you talking about?
(although it may be better if you never tell me )
1 of the sides did not flush well with the phone when facing up.
Looks like the cutting is slightly off will gradual abscess from top going to the bottom.
Its pretty obvious if u see it at an angle.
Only seems to be an issue with the black case
The white one I got seems to fit fine
Sorry, photos aren't very clear

I also have the one in OP but chose red instead of black. I have to say it's pretty awesome. The color looks classy and the case fits just fine.
I like the rubberized texture. Without it, I always felt like the phone was going to slip right off my hand. Now not so much. Plus it almost doesn't add any thickness (I'd say around 1.5 mm at most).
Very happy.
Be careful with unprotective cases, barely there cases and only rear protecting cases

Here it is the white one, after few weeks of usage.
h t t p://imgur.com/a/LnGKp - sorry i can't post links yet (new user)
I have the phone for 2 montsh now, but i have 2 other type of case and using a different one all the time. The first 2 week was fine, no coloration at all, but at the 3rd week the brown coloration happened, which was my pocket. And the funny part is, i am carrying it in my pocket for 40min each (work)day.
The way i imagine this case:
- hard plastic
- soft touch overlay
- some thin protecting layer
No coloration in the first few weeks, but after the ""protecting layer"" wear down, the case started picking up everything. I tried to clean it, no luck.
Lastly, i really don't know what are those pink spots, or where do they came from. (It's not the camera )
I've one of these cases too.
The first thing I did was to use my fingernail to scratch away the NILLKIN words. Took me just 2 min, and I had a perfectly blank back for the case.
How good it fits to the phone? Does this case scratch the phone?
Thanks!
Just wanted to give a short review of a case I bought recently. From a company called Klemson from SC, made in China...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Case-Free-S...Accessories&hash=item2a19d93b57#ht_1883wt_954
I was looking for a case that had a slim/tight fit and would be easy to slip in and out of pocket. I found that with this case. It comes with an attachment that acts as a belt clip and can also be used as a stand. The stand function adds more flexibility than the built in kick stand. It also comes with a screen protector.
I like the feel of the plastic and it seems very solid. It feels good in my hands and it certainly does slip in and out of my pocket with ease. It fits the Evo body very well, nothing looks slightly off here. I was using the basic otterbox case and I was getting tired of it pulling off in use due to the loose fit and sticky texture.
As far as negatives are concerned the case is not great if you want to protect every bit of the Evo, the top and bottom are pretty open to the elements. The power button is a little bit hard to get at. I use the volume buttons to wake the phone so it's not a huge deal to me. I imagine you could shave off a bit of the plastic surrounding it to make it easier to press. I wasn't able to get the screen protector on my phone without a ton of air bubbles. I didn't have this problem with the screen protector that came with my old otterbox case.
For $11 you can't really go wrong if you want a case that is barebones and thin. The extra belt clip attachment which also works as an adjustable stand is a nice addition.

I've also been using this case/holster for a couple of weeks now and its an ok case, aside from what you said about the power button its worth it specially the stand on the holster. It gives it more stability than the built-in one. I would give it 4/5 stars
it looks nice.
Just the other day the phone fell out of my pocket down to pavement, the phone and case came away totally unharmed.
Put a freaking shirt on u sick perv lol

They are selling on Ebay with free shipping, prices are from $7.95 to $10.95 us., for that price I may take a risk on one or two,
Here are a few examples of the hard back cases, they have 100's to choose from.

I still have not, it just not a priority as I'm happy with the cases that I have now. But I am very curious of the quality myself.
.
I have bought a couple for my gf's note1 and my razr phone. The case is so so, and the sides of the case are white despite the design of the back being colored.
I Bunch of cool designs wish they have a front protector built in to protect the screen when not in use

I did order one, it took about 10 days for delivery to USA from the UK.
I got the purple one shown above, it is very thin with the bottom and top edge completely open.
The sides wrap around the front to attach the case. The design coating on the back feels tacky and less likely to slip from your hand.
The inside of the hard back is white and the right and left sides have a strip that is about 3/16 that is also white.
Did not expect much for the price, and I probably got my moneys worth.

Would you say this is decent enough protection for while it's in use, and should still be put in a sleeve or other case when tossed in a bag?
Do you happen to also have the keyboard dock? If not, does it appear to add too much thickness to be able to dock while still protected? That's my only complaint about my folio case, is having to remove it from the holder whenever I want to use the keyboard dock. I figure it's only a matter of time before the case holder snaps or something from the constant in/out

There is no screen cover or protection. You would have to use a sleeve to travel with it. I do not have a keyboard dock but it may work.
I use it when at home while playing racing games, my 360 case is just to bulky and awkward when playing these types of games. I don't have to worry about setting in down for a few minutes on a hard surface if I need to take a call or something like that. I also have a jelly case that just covers the back but this one is much thinner. It is about 3/64 of an inch thick.
.
Hey guys,
So I got a 'leather' skin from dbranz (I knew it wasn't leather), but it just wasn't enough for me. No one makes (nice) leather cases for our phone, so I thought I'd make my own.

Below is an attempt at an unbiased review. I will also show how I made it if it interests anyone else.
How I made it:
I downloaded a Xperia Z3C 3D model and began modelling a back case thing, along with hangover around the top and bottom edges (see pics).
Good thing, the back measurements were correct, however in my haste (and laziness), I assumed the 3D model was correct and so some things are out of place (fixed now for anyone who wants the files).
So, I made this back design, sent it to Ponoko.com and they laser cut it onto leather for me, and it's great!
Price was around $5 for cutting costs, $30 for leather and $5 for shipping (all USD). However if you're a new customer to Ponoko, you get $20 off your first order, which halves the cost to a reasonable $20USD.
The sheets come with a suede leather on the back with no adhesive, so I just used double sided tape to attach it to my phone, which worked better than I hoped. I used a craft scalpel to cut the excess tape out of holes etc. I must note the the laser almost burnishes the leather automatically, but when I was trimming the tape back, I cut a little leather off. It's not a huge deal, but might be nicer if you didn't.
Think that's it for the design...
Review (and pics):
First of all, it came out much better than I had hoped. It's a 1.5mm thin layer of what Ponoko call driftwood leather.
It feels like leather. It's soft to the touch, it's thick enough that there is a little give when you press into it, but thin enough to not to add thickness to the phone.
The Ponoko outlet I got it cut only had two types of leather available, with this being the best suited. However the USA store has many different types!
The laser cutting from Ponoko is fantastic. However I must note that the laser leaves a burned hair kind of smell on the cuts, but it is fading away, and I'm sure will totally go soon.
All in all, after a few days of having it, I can say it's $20 well spent and I can't wait for this to start ageing.
Pictures are here: http://imgur.com/a/QjMGx
Files and misc:
See attached Files below. I've made many variations so if someone isn't familiar with illustrator and laser cutting can do it simply. Ponoko give you a certain amount of leather to cut, and you can put whatever you want in it. I will try and fit on as many copies as I can (which will be no extra charge from Ponoko).
The files have options with Sony logo perimeter engraved, the entire area engraved, and no logo at all.
Also, the above options with and without the bottom wrap thing.
I'm willing to do requests (to a degree), so fee free to ask.
Very cool! My cousin just invested in his own 3D printer, and we've started thinking about designing/fabricating premium, genuine leather phone and tablet cases.
He's already designed, patented (pending) and is hand crafting/building his own portable, "hands free tablet" support device, the Ezilstien!
This cover looks great! Do you know, when they cut the leather, if they can give it a beveled edge, rather than such a rigid, unfinished edge? This cover could look so much nicer with a nice stitching or piping around the edges!
Check out these quick renderings I just threw together. (Using your photos as reference :good

Yeah, I wish they did bevels etc, but there are no options for that at this stage with Ponoko.
However, I suppose you could have an increasing engraving towards the end of the leather to simulate a bevel?
