[Q]Android 2.2 and 2.2.1?

Recently I've tried a few ROMs, including the Cool Z ROM, the ReflexTSenseHD ROM and the Starburst Lite ROM. I've noticed that the Cool Z ROM and ReflexTSense ROM are all based on Android 2.2.1, while the Starburst Lite ROM is based on Android 2.2 FroYo.
For all 3 ROMs I flashed Richard Trip's kernel v5f, and set the frequency to 1190MHz on smartass scaling and run Quadrant benchmark.
The results showed a magnificent difference between Android 2.2.1 and 2.2. With Cool Z and ReflexTSenseHD the CPU score can sometimes be higher than the total score of Nexus One 2.2+ in Quadrant Advanced. However, when I run the benchmark with Android 2.2 in the Starburst ROM, it would be a miracle to see the CPU score higher than the CPU score of Nexus One 2.2+, although the frequency is set at 1190MHz.
There is another difference between the Starburst ROM and the other 2 ROMs, though. I did a Data2SD with Data2Whatever on the Starburst ROM(the one flasher given in Starburst didn't work for me), while I didn't do that on the two Android 2.2.1 ROMs.
So I'm wondering: Is there a difference between Android 2.2 and 2.2.1? If yes, what is it? Or is the difference simply caused by Data2SD?
It's simply because Data2SD. You would get the same results with other roms with Data2SD. But in most cases it won't be any faster then the ones with no Data2SD. It's a known thing that Quadrant would give you higher scores.
2.2 is the latest version of Android for the Desire, 2.2.1 is the latest for the Desire HD/Z - which Cool Z is based on

CM7 and App2SD+

How stable is CM7 with App2SD? Am I better opting for Ginger Villain? (which seems to incorporate a lot of CM7 within it and App2SD support).
Thanks.
Anyone?
Its stable.

[Q] 3-5 pt. multitouch enabled GingerSense kernel??

Is there one? I'm currently running Chad's 12/23 on a custom Froyo ROM, and really want to switch over to a Gingersense ROM, but when I flashed the leaked stock Gingerbread ROM it wouldn't boot with the 12/23 kernel. There aren't really any other Sense kernel's here anymore that aren't very outdated, and Chad's thread says that his latest Gingerbread kernel's don't play well with Sense.
Can anyone point me to a kernel that has multitouch enabled and works fine on Gingerbread with Sense?
For the Q & A Forum.
No, not until the official GB with Sense source is released.
The only kernel that'll work with GingerSense right now is the one it comes with. HTC hasn't dropped the source code for GB sense kernels yet. Once they do, there will be a bunch of custom kernels out there for us.

Chad @incredikernel said that he may work on a kernel for gingersense next week.

Modify Virtuous Unity or Sense to use kernel only (or some features)

Hi guys,
I really long try to find a good (and working!!!) OC/UV kernel for my desire z.
Now i tried Viruous Unity and Sense, but there is too much bloat in my opinion.
Now i really want to use that kernel only with its oc and uv features to save battery and gets the device a bit faster.
The unity mod is too big and fills up my intern memory that i get at least 50MB memory free...
Thats a real problem.
Can anyone help me to solve this? To help me to modify the virtuous mod?
With pershoot it will not boot or after boot system will not respond and the phone sticks.
I running HTC stock rom 2.30... With eng-hboot full s-off permroot. If questions needed ask..
Hope for answers. Thanks a lot

Before everyone shows up with their pitchforks, I'm going to try to help you.
1. HTC Sense ROMs only with with "Sense" kernels (e.g. Unity, Virtuous, RCMiX)
2. AOSP kernels will not work properly with Sense based ROMs (e.g Pershoot, CM, Tiamat, ILWT)
3. Pretty much *Any* ROM is compatible with the Virtuous OC Daemon, or Tsubus' ILWT OC Daemon.
4. OC/UV Beater isn't the overclocking daemon, it's simply used to CONFIGURE and CONTROL the OC daemon.
Based on what I *think* you're trying to say you need, you should stick with Virtuous Vision 2.0, but try using it with an alternative launcher (like LauncherPro or Go Launcher) which will improve your experience (the default Sense launcher "Rosie" is pretty heavy). You may also try heading over to tsubus' ILWT thread, and find the link for his "ILWT OC Daemon". Install it, and you may notice a difference.
If you're looking for speed, use an AOSP ROM (CM7, ILWT, Glite, MIUI) and stay as far away as possible from Sense 3.x ROMs. Hope that helps.
Also, wrong section brah.
Ok in other words: as long as i do not flash a custom rom i cant use oc/uv.
But if i don't like the custom roms there is no chance.
Or is there any AOSP Rom available which looks like the stock rom with Sense 2.x?
Because all the roms looks like the samsung layout.
