Very very thankyou ppls for your hard work... i really appreciate the hard work of the devs.. but can some1 tell me that when the battery metter is fixing.....i only bought this to use android on it but due to unstable battery indcator i m not able to properly get the fun of android on this device.....seriously i have no intrest to use winmo..i liked the keyboard and read that its android compatiable so i bought it .... i know some ppls will say that go buy something else ..... all i need is battery fix and i think many of the ppls here will agree with me....well i for me i m w8ing more 15 days to see if the proper battery fix appears then i will continue it else i will go for Motorola Milestone...i m not saying that these ppls are not working .. all i m saying that all we need is a battery fix with Wifi
w8ing for the ppls opinions
Thanks
honestly man, whats the point of this post? The devs know whats working and what isn't and I'm sure they're working on fixing and improving things. The fact that you can even boot up and run Android on a Windows Mobile phone shows the dedication and work they've put into this so far, its just a matter of work and time until everything is working, have faith and wait it out
dont be surprised if u start gettin some negative responses.
first off, the battery fix wrks great and is very accurate. there must b something u not doing right. i even posted my initial battery readings in the thread with this new build. actually the battery fix is almost dead accurate. i got 8+ hrs. outta of it yesterday. with overclock, with constant use. so nonoverclocked build will probaly bring even longer use.
second, wifi wrks perfectly.
third, why would u buy a device just to run a project build then if u wanted everything wrking? i understand the keyboard thing but unless u got ur device on a good ass deal, kind of silly to buy it just to run something not even fully completed yet. come on now.
Fourth, b4 u bought ur device, did u thoroughly read everything going on with this build or u just jumped in head first?
this is why so many people getting flamed cuz they dont do the research or homework. then come on here posting about why this or that isnt wrking. or what ASSUMPTIONS they have.
dont take this post the wrong way cuz this will probaly be one of the nicer posts towards u. lmfao juss way too many people jumping in and complaining when they wouldve already known the known issues with the build. which in ur case is incorrect. there has to be something u did wrong.
these are questions to ask self why batter fix and wifi not wrking for u.
Am i using the latest builds? Did i thoroughly follow instructions on installing it? Did i install the build with the battery fix in it? Did I break my battery fix by updating the zImage and modules?(which will break the battery fix). if thats not the case, then, Did i update the latest roofts and inirtd files? Did i even troubleshoot the problems b4 posting saying they dont wrk? lol
im not trying to sound like a dckhead..lmfao but im sure the developers would say the same thing basically.
they might have to implement what they doing on the other threads now. if u dont have a certain number of posts, then dont download and try out builds with doing the research first. a moderator stepped in and said that. cuz way too many people complaining about stuff thats already known or complaining about stuff that wrks but they didnt do it correctly.
food for thought, try the latest build. then DO NOT UPDATE THE ZIMAGE AND MODULES AFTERWARDS. only update the roofts and inirtd files.
if u need help getting it running right, let me know. ill be more thn happy to help or assist u, seriously. srry to sound cranky, just woke up n stressed about other things in life..lol
good luck

the point of this post is to know about battery fix.. because i think its damaging the battery...because while turing on the android the led indicator turns on and battery start heating-up sorry dont sound to be rude but please if u cant help dont bother to post you will waste your time...
Would you all kindly stop being illiterate? English words are made of letters not numbers.
On topic, jamb, you could have dropped the silly threats (Imma buy another phone) and just asked the question.
Considering this phone wasn't intended to even run android..... and you bought it without clearly reading through and seeing what was working and what wasn't... yeah I can see peoples frustrations with your question.
Your best bet, as I'm sure you know, if you wanted a perfectly working andoid phone was to buy one that was designed for it OR at least play with someones touch pro 2 who has android running on it so you would know what to expect.
It's called development for a reason, its still on going and there is still a LOT of work to be done and no one knows time frames on this. It's like asking when we're going to mars (all be it that might be a very dramatic example)
Regarding the battery. As was discussed... there is a fix and if it isn't working for you then you aren't doing something right. It's accurate and thats all anyone can hope for. As far as becoming warm. Well it probably has something to do with what you are using on your phone. Internet, GPS, etc etc... all at once. overclocking it is a big culprit for the warmness of phones. The more you tax the phone the more it will become warm.
It wont 'ruin' your batter by using the phone... Just be patient and understand that these fixes could come out tomorrow or could never come! Just what it is.

Your title isn't so much directed at andoid as it is the people who spend hours and hours and hours developing a working version for our phone. So, yes it can be taken as being insulting, with that people are going to see this post and think "who is this guy?"

My battery meter seems to be working just dandy. I did a test yesterday and it was dead on. When in Android I looked at the battery meter and it was about 3/4 full. I opened spare parts and it was at 64%. I then rebooted the phone into WM (6.5, energy ROM) and opened tbattery and it was at 64%
I chared my phone to 100% yester afternoon around 5pm and after heavy use; 5 minutes twitter updates, constant facebook, automaticl gmail check, and non-stop text, I'm still sitting around 50%.
The work they are doing is awesome.

Any battery meter needs to have several complete charge/recharge cycles to be completely accurate (charge phone to 100%, drain until it powers off by itself, repeat at least 3 times). So I would think Android on the TP2 is no different.
Anyway, if the OP got the message that the TP2 is "Andriod compatible", that that was the wrong impression, or at least an overstatement. This is an ongoing project. Given, one where some great folks are putting in tons of work and doing a wonderful job (and much appreciated). But its not perfect, and not the same as a phone which natively runs Android. If that was the OPs intent, then big mistake and he should have done more research before buying.
And its always been posted that the battery meter has issues. I don't know how he could puurchase a TP2 for android and didn't even read the 1st post of the thread.

Anyone tried buying those larger batteries off ebay? I saw one that's lager but isn't larger in size where you'd need a new back case.
How much difference is 1800mAh compared to 1500mAh anyway? Another hour of life?

2nd well i got 2 options motorola milestone(totally android ) or htc tp2 .. i was not into motorola devices so readed about tp2 is compatible ..well in my country only 5 or 6% ppls use other brand otherwise the remaining ppls use nokia or samsung so i wasnt able to use tp2 before the only option i got was to use it personally .....
i know that many many works need to be done...
well i readed about the fix but it is working without wifi and as i said earlier , i know its sound mean but all i need is battery fix with wifi...well as for battery warming without internet , no gps , no overclocking , no nothing just used with its original files it was just lying on my table and when i put it into my pocket i can feel that the battery is warming up so i have to restart the fone to switch back to winmo...

thanks mate but its in rumors i think it will release Q4 2010 or Q2 2011... and i dont have that much time ... just fedup with this winmo....android is far far better then winmo
My name is John (not really)... and I have a problem
I am a flashaholic....
Ok, but seriously, I would flash a different ROM every couple of hours if I could... but I've seen some people saying that it takes the phone a certain amount of time to "get used to" a new ROM/kernel....
So my question is this... If I flash a ROM and learn that there is something that I really cant live with.. battery life, UI, anything... how long should I give it in order to really know how it will be on my phone?... And yeah, I understand that there's not an actual number like "Wait 37.9 hours".. but can some of those people that talk about their phone gettin used to a ROM elucidate?\
And in the mean time.. I think I'll give CM7 a try...
I would say give it 37.9 hours. Any less than that and you don't give the ROM enough time to cozy up with your phone and if you wait any longer you run the risk of causing a nuclear holocaust.

Has anyone told you that you're awesome today? cuz you are lol
Seriously, just wait 24 hours. After a reboot or 2, it'll settle. It also may be laggy at first, as it gets used to it.

thanks, guys... you've been extremely helpful... really
nybdy else have a real answer... so as to help me avoid causing a nuclear holocaust?
Once all your apps are installed, synced, rebooted, and you've gone a full battery cycle or three. It should be as settled in as its gonna get.
Swyped from a galaxy far far away......
thanks....
I recently let a guy borrow my phone while we were fishing a bass tournament and he dropped it in the lake. He gave me his nearly brand new Nitro as a replacement. The problem is that he had rooted his Nitro and didn't back it up before he rooted it. I want to get the phone back to stock like it came out of the box but being the noob that I am, I have no idea how to do that. I am sure I could pay LG to do it for me for a price. I am a disabled vet and my disability checks aren't as big as my active duty checks were so every nickel I have is more than accounted for. Is there anybody out there that can help with the software and directions? I am fairly computer savvy but I have a long way to go as far as my cell phone knowledge goes. Thanks a million for any help you guys can provide!!

If you can wait just a couple more days, there will be a very easy way to install the latest Android version to your phone that will restore it to factory defaults but with the new Android version released by AT&T. It's supposed to officially release on July 31. Once that day comes, you should be able to follow these steps: http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/ATT_Update/index.jsp
Thanks!!
Man, it will be that simple? No more root or anything? I know I must sound like a complete moron but until I learn alot more about roms, etc, I just need my phone to be stock. He said it had clock mod or something like that. I assume all that will be gone as well? As soon as I get an upgrade availability, I am going to use this LG as a guinea pig as I learn about phone customization. I'm sure I'll end up ruining it but maybe I will learn something first. Thank you very much for the response. I can definitely wait a couple more days.

Well have fun lol. that tool does seem pretty easy. I bet it could be used in case anything gets screwed up to... but you never know..
And clockworkmod is a backup type thing where you can flash zips ( like roms, kernels, etc ), or make backups of your phone, and restore them.
But really though if you dont care about a little faster phone and a little more custumization then normal you probally wont need to flash roms and such
but have fun

Yeah, that update method will remove Clockworkmod and you will be unrooted. There actually wasn't a very efficient way to get back to 100% stock until this new update comes out, so it's pretty good timing on your part. ;p
Well, guys, I got my phone updated...I think. Right in the middle of the update, my doorbell rand and my dog took off for the door and pulled my usb cable out of the phone. I got it plugged back in withing a couple of seconds. It seems to be working okay. I wonder if it messed anything up. I tried to re-do the update but the LG Update tool said the phone was updated and wouldn't update again. I guess we will see.
That's not good...

I am soooooo tired!
I 'promised' a chopped up ROM with fixes and a ticker tape parade but I'm a day late and it's a bit messy.
Here's why...
1. I didn't realise that I'd be able to get my sweaty little hands on a reliable copy of the TW ROMS (PLEASE thank me but PLEASE remember to thank @mrquyen1993 too because without him we'd have neither). We should (should) get the MM update after installing it so there was little point in working on the LP ROM).
2. I received my phone last Wednesday so I've had less than a week with this thing, gone straight from a (slightly) faulty One X+ (and yes, I really miss the 64gb of storage) and it's also been my daily so I've had nothing else to use while I've been breaking it! (The HOX+ is for sale.. If you wanna buy it please message me!).
3. I am a human. I need sleep. OK, maybe not entirely human...
3a. 'I am a dog! I need walks!' - <----Chi ©2009 Gixermouse My **** head dog! (add me on FB and make sure you follow his page. He's more active than me most of the time!).
4. It was my 6 year anniversary yesterday so we went for a meal <3
5. Nobody is even reading now....
6. I am 44 years old. I don't even need this ****!
7. Days in a week ©0000 God.
8. Days a week ©1964 The Beetles.
9. Nein. Niet. No. Nagios. Never. Not ever. Dream on ©1973 Aerosmith.
10. Commandments ©beforethedawnoftime Noah.
Anyway. I've just posted my pre-release in THIS section. I'd like a few of you to install it and give me some feedback via THIS post and (most of all) I'd like anyone who's interested in becoming part of the Butterfly Preservation Society® to join my GROUP (name subject to change) where we can develop future [email protected]™ versions of Siândroid (yes, Siân's my girlfriend and the same picture of her has been my wallpaper for six, (long and painful) years!).
OK. Get installing, get involved, get into modding/customising, get a Coffee and get into the Shed!
Where is exactly your beta rom. I have half dead phone, so I can test anything I want on it. Have you tried LineageOS also ?

I agree with what you are saying. Knowing in the past I learned how to build. It's fun and difficult.
That being said, the best builders in the game haven't even been able to build and release anything. Not even a stock sneak peek aosp 10. So what makes you think a noob can build one himself?
I could be wrong, there could be aosp 10 that are built and shared in different channels that I'm aware of.
I see you wrote your post in caps so that blind people like myself could read it. Kudos to you my fine sir. I feel included for once

I saw a lineage 17 build on afh but can't get the damn thing to boot, none of the available 10 gapps zips work either.
Maybe we'll have to wait for TWRP to catch up.

Yeah saw that as well... couldn't get it to work either. Plus TWRP was acting real wonkey with anything A-10 related. Still gotta play the waiting game I guess.
Although, I did find that new "e" rom on afh with the whole microG thing so been playing with that. First time with all the Nani Droid microG stuff... something new to keep me busy and hold me over for now ?
EDIT: Yard work all day so screw the singing....for now MWAHAHAHA!!!
Is this the place to vent about a10 or about the pixel in general? Because if it's the latter I hate the way it's like the iPhone. When I hold it wrong during a phone call it just loses signal completely. Or something. Well no, let's just say I can still hear the other party but they can't hear me. Put it in the other hand, squeeze differently and it works. Just as **** as apple.
