[REQUEST] Steam Recovery - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know if there's anything that stops this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881832 from being ported to the dInc?

The galaxy s phones boot into recovery differently I believe, using a update zip
What are u looking for in this?
Edit: read more
I understand now
Maybe koush is working on this in cwm 3?

I could probably build a port for our phones. Just have to wait until I have the time.

No problem waiting, thanks!

MIUI - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939606
Best kernel is up to you, its all personal preference. Everyone has their own setup that works best for them, just try a few out until you get the performance you want. It may take some time but when you get what you want you will be even happier with your phone.
where and how do you get the up date for this rom?

They must be running into some issues with 1.2.19. The updates are ususally up by Sunday.

[Q] Most ROMS?

A question of curiosity, does the Droid Incredible have the most ROMs? If it doesn't which phone does?
I don't think so. I know the Evo has us beat.

Yup so does the HTC Thunderbolt with their sensation port which is going well now that they have a workable rosie and lockscreen.

The OG Desire is doing pretty good they actually have a sensation port and we dont.......can't wait till our gingersense ota gets leaked and we can get some good ports up
So, the jist I get from this discussion is that HTC kicks ass at making phones. Yup. I know my Incredible has turned me into an HTC fanboy.
Can't help but suspect that the Droid1 has the most ROMs.

Im going to call you on this one. Have you looked at the Android Dev section of the Incredible vs the Thunderbolt? There are 18 devs in Rom Manager alone for the Incredible

OG Droid, first "droid" since Verizon bought the rights to use Droid in advertising for their Android phones.
G1 is the first Android Device.
And of course to answer the OP's original question, I'm going to say either the Nexus One or the G1. Both are known as true developer's phones. I mean, they have Gingerbread running on the G1!
What is the best ROM for the incredible , I am rooting my wifes phone and looking for a good rom. any help would be appreciated....
thanks,

[Q] I need a link to a Stock, Rooted, 2.3.3 Sense ROM

Preferably debloated, but I can remove the problem apps myself. I just need to go back to 2.3.3 and Sense 2.1.
Thanks ahead of time, I have been looking, but just haven't been able to find one.

The problem of the OTA trying to download and install under RMK's gingersense is easily fixed/prevented. Just freeze or rename com.smithmicro.dm. Worked for me.
Well then use true leftys, basically stock, and i never noticed any problems, I did the patch and firmware update, and it was there a week ago...

Sorry, I just checked, it is indeed gone, the thread is still there, but no link or anything, I knew I saw the thread around a week ago, true leftys seems to be broken as well

Just curious, but why do you need to go back to sense 2.1?
If you can live with 3.0, virtuous unity is a good option imo

Well, on the ROM I was on, Incredible 2 3D, would freeze multiple times a day. I need more stability than that. I simply restored from my nandroid backup and I'm back to where I was.

Have you tried sky raider yet? It's a 2.1 3.0 mix and rock sold from what I've experienced. Feels stock but loaded with some very nice mods.

Modded MIUI ROM?

I know that on the original Dinc there were a few modded verisons of MIUI. Is anyone working on anything like this for the Dinc2? I'm extremely interested in the prospect.
I never heard of missed versions...even on the dinc which I had for a year

will Incre S ROM work on Incre 2

as subject..
is the incredible S ROM will working on Incredible 2?
im so sorry if i repost..
No. Do not flash kernels/roms/recoveries etc unless it is specifically designed for your unique device.

I'm sure It's a little more complicated than that, mainly kernel differences, but if he flashed one and it worked only in gsm, that change to the build.prop should revert it to cdma. Whether or not the inc s kernel supports cdma is still untested. Depending on the Rom, I'm sure we have a supporting kernel...

this is what I flashed, again it was asking for a sim, since mine isn't unlocked. when I went to change the options for mobile, GSM was really my only option besides 2 others that I was unfamiliar with

the reason I flashed it was because a buddie of mine owns an inspire 4G and flashes desire Roms all the time. he gave me the idea

That particular Rom actually does support the inc2, according to the op. If your getting GSM only, then changing the build.prop line and a reboot should work. I'm downloading it now, I'll see what I can do...
