I keep hearing good things about the ultimate droid rom, So I wanted to try it to compare it to Cyanogenmod for a bit, but the site has been down for a couple weeks now.
I was wondering if somebody knows a mirror (Or can make one)?
It's odd, I guess the project is dead anyway?
You won't get a mirror on xda for it. They've taken down a few postings of it. I'm sure if you tried to search "download ultimate droid g2/dz" you would find it somewhere....

Thanks, I'll try it out, but if the project is dead, then there isn't much point in keeping it.
and I know the history about UD on XDA, I just wanted to try it to compare.
I'm on CM right now, but probably gonna try Htcclay's Supercm7, I used to use his roms when I had my G1 and they were among the fastest.
It's actually not a very good ROM. When I first rooted it was one of the first ROM's I installed. It took me 3 days to realize how buggy and horrible it really is. Plus, they haven't updated the ROM in well over 3 months.

Weird, since I've heard lots of praise, but mostly from verizon droid owners I guess..
Well, I guess I'm better off just skipping it, Downloading Htcclay's SuperCM7 right now.

Don't know what you are talking about..ud was one of my favorite roms. Just because it hasn't been updated in 3 months doesn't mean they killed it. There are projects here that go longer than that and eventually get an update.

Yea I agree but I was addicted to ics but it wasn't Sense. I know we have great icsSense roms but I wanted to have complete again. We have our fair share of runnymeade roms but this one feels good on the phone. Haven't really tested battery because you can't get great results overnight. Gotta let it settle.

I'm sure It's a little more complicated than that, mainly kernel differences, but if he flashed one and it worked only in gsm, that change to the build.prop should revert it to cdma. Whether or not the inc s kernel supports cdma is still untested. Depending on the Rom, I'm sure we have a supporting kernel...

That particular Rom actually does support the inc2, according to the op. If your getting GSM only, then changing the build.prop line and a reboot should work. I'm downloading it now, I'll see what I can do...

I have a few quick questions on this device, I personally deal strictly with htc devices but my wife loves this phone.
Ok a little background.
The phone has been flashed to boost. And is on stock Sprint gb27 jb, unrooted.
Where is a good thread to get this rooted? and after the recovery gets installed being it's flashed to boost anything I should not flash? Thanks guys

Check out rwilcows repository it contains everything you will need to flash.
If you flash from Odin the rooted same build you won't need to factory reset.

But don't worry. I think u need to search for one click odin on here and also search on YouTube for Qbking77.Read op=opening page. Read until u fully understand unless u want your phone to be useless.

Not taken wrong at all. I've actually been modding phones since the g1 dream days and still very active on the HTC one xl forum just havent messed with a Samsung since the boost galaxy prevail. And the read fully part you mentioned... Read some of my posts from the one xl q n a forum.. I just wanted a push in the right direction. Main concern is the rom install. Will it mess with anything that's been flashed to convert to boost? Prl?

Here's qbking's video on how to root on jb:

And here's everything you need from rwilco12:
http://www.rwilco12.com/Files/Devic...Sprint) (SPH-D710)/Tutorials/SPHD710-Root.php
Just make sure you read, read, read. And your prl, being on Boost, will not change. And as long as you have a jb modem(gb27, gb28, or gc01), you'll have data. But if you flash a Sprint rom you'll have to research how to change mmsc in order to send mms. To avoid that, if your wife wants stock, flash a GC01(Boost) rom after you root. Here's mine, deodexed, debloated, and since it's stock, you can build it up to your wife's liking. Good luck, happy flashing:thumbup:

By the way, if you flashed the phone to Boost you're better off just keeping a stock Boost ROM handy.
That way you're not having to mod the MMS settings to get it to work right.
From there you can pick up a custom kernel/recovery and flash away.
(I personally recommend mine but there are others to choose from...)
Welcome and enjoy!
