New Message Icon Problem please read

hi everyone, since yesterday my phone
says i got a new sms... wich is not true...
i use SPB shell... i find that veryyyyyyyy usefull
cuz i dont really like theh way the TP2 looks without it...
the thing is that says i got 1 Txt message i havent read..
to try to eliminate the problem i have erased all my sms..
still no luck.. even erased my Gmail account from the phone
still no luck, restart the phone and nothing has help me..
if anyone knows anything that could help please let me know.

I've had a similar issue but it was a new email message that I couldn't find. Apparently it was the Windows Mobile "E-mail Tips and Tricks" message in my Outlook inbox which I didn't check. Perhaps it's the same issue with you...

bcuz it says that the message is in the SMS..
and plus i dont even have an email added to the
phone
is gettin annoying having that.. everytime i think
i have a new message :'(

Is there a Drafts / Outbox folder in android builds?

Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if there's a special way to access the drafts/outbox in android. I've been using WinMo on my kaiser since I got it and was away from xda for about a year and came back to find news about android running on kaisers and was amazed, so I quickly installed myn's warm donut RLS5 and I love it.
Anyways, I've run into an issue where I can't open a thread in my messages as I keep getting an error: "Sorry! The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [Force Close]"
The only way for me to get back in is to compose a new message and wait for the message to pop up in the thread. Once I back out, I can't open a thread again, meaning I basically cant read any messages I receive until I send one out.
Battery pulls do nothing. I searched the error and seems like it has to do with messages sitting in the drafts/outbox with blank messages so some people say to go to the Drafts/Outbox and delete anything there, and I'm pretty sure that this is the issue since I see "Draft" beside the recipient in the message list.
Is there any way to access Drafts/Outbox folders on Android on our Kaisers?

AFAIK the drafts in myns warm donut are thread specific. If you have a draft in a thread, opening that thread will have the draft text in the text box. Try some msging app like handcent or something. I havent used any of them but they might have different functionality maybe giving you direct access to drafts.

[Q] text message app, everything is blacked out

hey everyone,
so this is actually for my girlfriends g2 and i haven't seen it in person yet, i'll see it tonight, but i figured i'd throw some feelers out there...
her g2, whenever she goes into the text messaging app, the whole screen except the top 1/4 (so she can see the status bar, the create new message, and the most recent text conversation). she's NOT rooted, totally stock and never upgraded to gingerbread. so the notification that she should upgrade has been popping up so she finally went ahead and let it upgrade today while she was at work and it seemed to all go fine she says but now that its rebooted and upgraded, the text message app is still exactly the same issue.
like i said i haven't seen it myself. any ideas? first things first is i was probably going to go in and force close the app. if that doesn't help i'm going to start clearing out her texts (who knows when the last time she cleared them out was). after that... not sure. any other ideas?

This seems to be a common problem. I googled it and found others with that same problem. Didn't see any fixes, though. Try a third party texting app. Otherwise you may need to replace the screen. Could try rooting and flashing a custom rom as well.

[Q] New contacts getting deleted / missing ?! Please help

Hey guys, I'm new and hope this is in the right place. Tried searching/googling and couldn't find anything relevant.
About a month ago, my phone has started to delete new contacts randomly. Its the HTC One X, running ICS, and its synced to my google account. I save a contact, use it for a few days, and look for it a week later, and its gone. No record of it whatsoever. Even tried gmail contact restore on a pc browser and I couldn't find that contact at all.
This is about the 10th contact that I'm aware of that has just dissappeared for no reason at all. Whats going on? Have I got some weird setting wrong? Or is this a bug?
I need to find that contact really bad...

New SMS not showing as unread

Hi everyone,
I am running CM10 Alpha4 on my HTC One X and I have the following problem:
When I receive an SMS, a notification shows up which is fine, but the received message (and other new messages as well) shows as read instead of unread. :crying:

SMS problem update
I have noticed another thing that might be related to the problem: today was Aug 14th and all threads of all messages that arrived today were showing as Aug 13! Then, one message came that was displayed as 4:30, which means today !?
Here are the things I have tried:
1. I checked Date/Time, it is ok.
2. I deleted all messages and tried to send myself just one message, same problem
3. I deleted all messages and restored them with Backup/Restore, same problem
I noticed another thing: when I receive one or more messages, the notification shows up, which is ok, but when I open messages app, besides the original problem, the fact that no messages are displayed as read, the notifications disappear instantly. It is as if the messaging app "reads" all messages, or this is just normal behavior, I don't know.
Does anyone else have this problem, please help!
Also, is this the right place to post this kind of problem? Can anyone direct me to some better place, because no one seems to have interest for this question here

Yes, I have tried both automatic and manual settings, both with same result

It's weird, all I can suggest is that perhaps your phone thinks it used to be in the future and you'll have to get past that date before it will stop thinking that everything has been seen (hopefully less than 24 hours).

YES!! I think you are right, the messages suddenly started appearing as unread!
This happened all by itself, I didn't change anything since the last time it didn't work.
Although, I don't recall doing anything "weird" with date and time settings.
Maybe Titanium restore screwed something up, I don't know.
Anyway, it works (for) now .
