I need help viewing my shared files over my VPN.
OK so I have setup a VPN on my Win7 machine, port forwarded pptp in my router and have successfuly added the VPN on my DHD. The Android device connects OK (something has popped up in Win7 about RAS (Dial In) Interface, not too sure about this) but I cannot seem to view any of my shares in ES File Explorer under LAN.
I have added a new server (while connected to VPN) in ES File Explorer using the IP of my Win7 wireless network connection (192.168.0.103) but it wont display anything.
server: 192.168.0.103
Username: username
Password: *******
Each tme I try to connect it says:
"smb://192.168.0.103/
Network path not found or time out"
Anybody got any ideas on how to get this working?

Just one "f" - you can find it in the market by searching for CifsManager or just Cifs.
Note that you will need to have the correct kernel modules (i.e. slow-work.ko and cifs.ko) for your kernel inserted (i.e. loaded, on your rooted phone) for CifsManager to work.
You can find more info here:

Thanks for the replies guys. In the end I just gave up and setup an ftp server on my PC

I was able to install Opera Mini 4 via usb cable with my computer onto my Dash phone and O.M. is a lot better than IE in my opinion. However, once I disconnect the usb cable, O.M. no longer is able to connect. When I use the usb cable again, it still won't connect. " Failed to connect to the Internet " is the message that'll appear on my phone. The only time it will connect is when I re-install O.M. while synced with the computer via usb cable. It seems like to be a one time deal only each time.
I'm just wondering if there is some sort of proxy hack for this and has O.M. 4 worked for anyone who is using the 5.99 t-zones proxy hack.
Thanks in advance !
Ok, my first post was edited. Ignore my 2nd one which is this.
I used the proxy hack and it works like a charm. Try restarting your phone and see if the proxy hack works with Opera (which it should work for sure).
Thanks for the reply, jdoggraz.
I have tried soft rebooting severals times and O.M. still doesn't connect. That same message ( Failed to connect to the Internet ) still appears.
Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated !
I believe I had to go to menu/tools/settings and change the protocol from socket to http before it would work.
Well try to log into Internet Explorer first in order to start up "edge." Then give it a shot with Opera while it is connected to edge. Then once you get this going you can close IE up and just run Opera. This step is done in order to get edge to be "on."
Tried both of your guys' suggestions and it's still unable to connect. Will it work using the regular t-zones w/out the proxy hack?
Yes, it can work. I'm assuming your still using WM 6.0?
1. The problem is the java manager that ships with the Dash doesn't allow installed programs to use the proxy. You need to install a new java manager called jbed. Read this link for instructions on how to do it: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-...ed-includes-info-new-java-midlet-manager.html
2. A 2nd (possible) option is to lose the proxy all together. T-Mobile has a new access point that doesn't require a proxy setting to access the internet, even on the $5.99 plan.
Go into your Data connection and use these settings:
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: epc.t-mobile.com
Leave the rest blank and it should work. I've been using this for almost two weeks without problem.

Still no success. Just curious though, what are your exact proxy settings?

Thanks for the link but the jbed file was invalid. I did a hard reboot and had my default settings for t-zones but still no luck. Now I want O.M. more than ever !

Did you try the new Access Point? The default AP is wap.voicestream.com. Change that to epc.t-mobile.com and see if that works.

Yeah and it still won't connect to the internet. I also did a soft reboot prior and attempted w/the new AP again but still the same result so now I had changed it back to it's default AP. Oh, and to answer your previous question, I have wm 6.
Here are my exact settings:
Description: T-Zones Proxy
Connects from: Wap Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy (name : port): 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Connects to: WAP Network
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: <blank>
Internet Explorer: "Automatically detect settings" is unchecked.
Select Network: The Internet
Now I'm just wondering if any of those settings have to be tweaked for O.M. to work. Thanks again y'all for all the help.

Those settings are not the problem, the java manager is. If you want to use OM over the proxy you need the esmertec jbed manager. I did a search and found a couple threads that still have different versions of it.

You could also upgrade your OS to WM6.1. Both Kavana and Rickwyatt's Roms have it preinstalled.
Just make sure you're ready to do a hard reset if things don't go well!
Thanks Aaron, my O.M. finally is able to connect to the internet now ! For some reason, I clicked on the 2nd link first and was able to install the cab file but there was some sort of error opening it up. The first link (Cloudyfa EsmertecJbed cab file), however, worked great and I was stoked to see O.M. up and functioning now .
I tried googling for answers but found none. This site is really awesome with some really cool and helpful folks and info. Thanks again y'all and Aaron, you the MAN !

AARON YTMND!
Hi everybody.
I just bought a desire hd. i can connect every wireless connection WEP, WPA, WPA2 etc. but i can not connect 802.1x Enterprise with peap gtc network
My friend has a Galaxy Ace he can connect same with 802.1x peap gtc network. his firmware also Android 2.2
I'm configuring same as he did but still can not connect it.
I don't know what is my Desire HDs problem?
can anybody help me?
I solved my problem
t is very sad that WPA2-Enterprise is not available to be configured in the WIFI-Settings dialog. But if you know how to configure it by hand you can get it to work. I want to use my schools WPA2-Enterprise so I tried it and found out how to get it working. I will explain my taken steps below so you can as well get it to work. The trick behind is that you edit the /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf by hand. In that file the configuration of the wifi-networks is saved. You need to add the following lines: (in my example for the HSR-Secure network)
network={
ssid="HSR-Secure"
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
identity="<username without 'hsr\'>"
password="<your password>"
}
For those who don’t know how to do that here some more explanation. To edit the mentioned file above your phone has to be rooted. Than you need the Android SDK installed on your computer (we will need adb.exe). You need the usb cable to connect the phone to your computer. Open a command line shell and go to your android-sdk tools folder and then do the following (thanks to Thomas Kälin for this easier version):
# Copy the config file from the phone to your computer:
adb pull /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf C:/MyFolder
# Now Edit your wpa_supplicant.conf with your favorite editor and load it back to your phone:
adb push C:/MyFolder/wpa_supplicant.conf /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
Now go to the wifi settings in your phone. Turn wifi off and on again. It should successfully connect now. Here some pictures to show how it should look like when working.
android-hsr-secure android-hsr-secure2
I hope this helps some of you to get WPA2-Enterprise working.
Have fun surfing the internet with your phone at work/school .

Adding the password line worked perfectly.
Hello, i am new here, and i will begin with this post
What do you need:
Android phone (obviously)
Windows 7 PC (XP are not tested, testers welcome)
X-Plore File Manager
Home WiFi Network
Steps:
1. Download X-Plore file manager at Play Market. (i cannot post links now)
2. Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing center > Advanced sharing settings > click all to on. (if you are unsure / have an unsecured network just do this everytime you want to transfer!)
3. Connect your phone to your wifi network
4. Open X-Plore
5. Set up the LAN (if hidden click show > show LAN)
6. Add server. (Scan is not working on me.)
7. fill in the blanks. path and domain do not need to be filled. Username is your windows username and password if you use (blank if not used).
8. fill the IP with 192.168.1.2 (you can try with 192.168.1.3 / 1.4 etc.. 1.2 usually works if you connect the PC first.)
9. click test. (if connection failure go back to step 8!)
10. now you can open your Users directory! (if you want to open the C:/ D:/.. open the settings in X-Plore and switch Show Hidden Files to on)
now you can upload and download files from or to your PC!
if there is any questions you can ask here. I will reply as soon as i can.
i do all the steps correct, i find my server, but when i try to enter in the server i get wrong username password, i enter my windows user id and i dont have any password to my account.
good advice, but i find the SGY screen too small for browsing my PC.
I prefer using Samba Filesharing (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funkyfresh.samba) and access my SD Card from my windows PC

Yep. Airdroid is the best of all Ive tried!
for me this is the best, full Access and exchange data whenever I want and when tethering.:good:give it a try,its awesome.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752928
LoL I'm always using bluetooth D:
Airdroid is better.
With airdroid you don't need to install nothing in your computer. And it's better because you can install apps, read your messages, call to somebody and it's all in your web browser.
but with the method from my post u have full acces of all files on the device, you can install apps, full acces of system files, send sms, costomize your phone, you can make all what you want and many more and thats all in tethering mode.with airdroid it doesnt go.for me tha best.and its all in your webbrowser too.
Tested and fully working on vista
thanks
Confirmed working on Win 8.1
however my setting is different
in X-plore windows, the fields need to be filled are Server; Username; Password
[Server]
you can find the IP by opening up cmd and type "ipconfig"
look at IPv4 Address, that's what you have to type in server field
[Username]
this field, type your windows ID (the ID you use with windows store)
[Password]
the password of your windows ID
Hope it helps for Win 8.1 user

Thank you for the ipconfig info; I couldn't get it to work because I didn't know what the server address was. X-plore should include this information in their wiki page.
I constantly get 0xC00000BB error from X-Plore eventhough i properly configured my Windows 7 to be logged in.
Is there anyone having problems related to X-Plore's LAN feature that is not working properly?

I'm just curious if someone here has tried to connect to a WIFI with proxy with NTLM authentication. I tried the methods listed here http://android-proxy.blogspot.co.uk/ , but no luck.
if unrooted:
install NTLmaps in your PC.
edit the server.cfg file and make the following changes.
LISTEN_PORT:5865
PARENT_PROXY: your_proxy_server
PARENT_PROXY_PORT: proxy_port
ALLOW_EXTERNAL_CLIENTS:1
now run the ntlmaps in PC and connect your phone through connectify.
change wifi phone settings
proxy server: your comp wifi ipv4 address.
port:5865
*This method does not work for LADP authentication.
if rooted :
Proxydroid + connectify

Hello Guys.
I bought a WiFi Disk-Case Systec PX-4709 or Powson PX-4709. Because its very small.
For this disk exists a app named "AirStor" (Power7 Technology).
A test is in androidpit. this device is shown in the app, but i cannot move anything or create folders on the device.
The software is very too basic. Oter software like "WiDisk" and so on is not working too.
So i tried with "Total Commander" and FTP or LAN plugin. But with LAN (port 80) and FTP (port 21) i get no access.
A try with "ES Datei Explorer" and the LAN, WEB and FTP options but the device will not be found.
The procedure to have access to the drive is:
- Connect to accesspoint / Server of the drive over WiFi-Network
- Start the app AirStor: the device is shown now as empty
- It is possible to change the drive parameter like SSID and IP, but this was not function. So i take the default
- Select a file and copy it to the disk, but this is not going
With which software can i get a access on the device? I see the mac and the IP address, but i not know the ports for communication.
Can i find out which communication-protocols are running and on which port? Or which protocol is using by AirStor?
Unfortunately in Windows i cannot have access too. I cannot ping and see the device.
Over USB i have with Windows 7 pro 64Bit also no access. Its only possible to connect with AirStor?
Can anybody help me?
Kind regards
robitobi
