Just rooted with UnrEVOked 3, want to install a rom..

i want to flash miui but i read somewhere about something with hboot having an issue (forgive me i dont really know much about this stuff) with it. But id really like it on my phone, and now that im rooted i wondered if that was possible.

can anyone please help?

Can you give us more than an hour to answer your question?
You will be fine flashing that. As long as your stock rom has been fully updated, then you are on the same hboot as everyone else.

Assuming you are running the latest 3.70 OTA update you will be fine. MIUI is a nice looking rom, but not one I would recommend for someone new to this as it requires constant upkeep. Make your first flash an easy one, try Myn's Warm 2.2.

There is no constant upkeep needed. They release a new one each week, but you don't have to update every week. Pretty much everything works fine in the current build except front facing camera and 4g.

Since you are new to all of this. I suggest working with basic ROMs first. Something that doesn't modify your phone so heavily that you might run into issues that you can't handle.
Check my sticky for a ton of information that will help you as well as links to ROMs.

Try MikFroyo 4.5 or the MikZ ROMs. They are AWSOME.........

Kings Ultra R2 is pretty slick too.

I'm new to here, but have flashed a ton since I got my Evo in Dec. I found that just going through the process with something similar to stock made me more comfy in my flashing capabilities. I will warn you, it has become an addiction for me now.

[Q] nocturnal bliss on sprint evo 4g

i have a sprint evo 4g running gingerbread 2.3.3 that i used unrevoked3 to root it and then but the nocturnal bliss rom on it and im having trouble logging into any form of facebook. i tried the app, friendstream and none work how can i fix this

Well, First try the basics.
Is 3G connected?
Do they work on 4G or Wifi instead?
Did they work before this Rom?
Did you wipe all data before flashing this rom? That can cause alot of errors if you dont, especially a new version of Sense.

Also remember, Bliss is a project that is cool, but still 100% not finished.
Thats why I havent flashed yet. 4G is not working and some minor things.
King and Team Nocturnal are spending hours to get this up and running to the max.

i see the rom is in beta which means it has bugs i figure as time goes on these issues will be fixed!

Cyanogen > Flashed Radio + RIL, now no more GSM (No Service)

Hello awesome crowd,
I flashed my DHD to CyanogenMod 7.1.
One day on it, I noticed idle radios were eating serious battery, so I decided to update to the latest available from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877295
Flashed the radio, then installed the RIL, all seemed to run smooth, until reboot. When no GSM was available anymore.
Please help me fix the radio
Missed to say that Settings>About is reading "Baseband Version UNKNOWN".

Maybe try re-flashing your ROM (without wiping)? I'm guessing you've flashed an HM RIL which are meant for Sense ROMs.

I did as suggested and my GSM is back. May not be brilliant on the battery but hey - still working

I found this threat's got a similar issue as mine, unless it displays the correct baseband as what I wanted to flash to it, the. Thing is it's only able to connect to 3g network, 2g network are still indicating no service although the signal got full bars, can you guys tell me what I purpose to do??

RIL is just for sense based roms. AOSP roms do not need RIL, so changing it will mess it up. You can flash a radio but that's it.

Do you ever need to flash rils coming from a cm based rom to sense based? Because as I recall,sometimes the dev has said a ril is included with the rom?

I'm not new at flashing but I'm new at posting a forums i installed a LEWA ROM which is MIUI and C& combined great ROM but when if run the WiFi the phone locks up. I updated the radio and the PR and reinstalled ROM and still does the same thing. Any help will be appreciated, thank you in advanced.

It might be a bug in the Rom. Did you read the op?

Sounds to me like somethings breaking the connection,like a custom kernel,possibly.What kernel are you running?

I've read all , today i downloaded the mason latest ( G ) kernel , i install & fixed permission , will try wifi soon .

i changed the kernel for mason ( did not work ) chaged it again for the savage zen kernel , still lockeds up when i turn on wifi , i think i'm going back to my old rom alterrom, not bad just wnted something different, thanks for your help.

[Q] no 4g with custom roms

so the problem is pretty self explanatory if you read the title. I keep losing my 4g when i switch to a custom rom. Specifically a custom 4.2.2 rom like

both of them say that they support 4g but when i go and install them i lose my 4g and my 3g is spotty sometimes.
I live in an area with a strong 4g signal and used to drive to and from work with 4g on all the time. Now i have 3g and it goes out sometimes.
So than i am left having to reinstall stock with

with the root.zip so i can have superuser and than install TWRP with goomanager so i can get my custom recovery back.
If i dont restore my phone back to stock with all that comes in that custom zip i wont get my 4g back even if i clear out slimroms and just install a stock 4.1.2 rom.
so what am i doing wrong?!
It would also be a great bonus to me if someone can also explain to me why i dont get MMS in any of the 4.2.2 roms as well.

1. I have tried using "pimp my rom" to get to the hidden menu and that didnt work
2. i have my msl and tried to mess about with ##3282# using this little tutorial and it didnt work

3. I have reinstalled just a plain stock rom (not listed above) after backing up a custom 4.2.2 rom with nandroid and resetting the network mode back to lte/cdma from automatic and than restored the 4.2.2 rom. That didnt work
I would like a SOLID, DEFINITIVE, CONCRETE answer on what is going wrong and how to fix this problem please.

A little reading goes a long way. In case clicking is too much effort I'll summarize. A recent change to CM 10.1, the base for all of our 4.2.2 Roms, broke 4g. they are looking into it. You can locate a nightly before 5/28 or stick with TW if it is a deal breaker. Have a nice day

even though your answer is packed with sarcasm ill still accept it. thx for your help. I dont read that thread as i have no interest in nightlies because i want a daily driver. I didnt know that they use nightlies to make the custom roms. i thought it was just stable CM10.1 only. Anyways thx again.

Or try aokp milestone it has 4g working to its bit old but stable and everything works
