Phone wont boot. - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hey guys, my phone wont boot.
I had this problem before and it turned out the battery was dead.
Is there a way to charge the battery without having to buy anything?

Use a wall charger and let charge for several hours...it has been mentioned that using car charger works faster , worth trying..there are a couple of other thread discussing this same issue...

if the battery is charged...
and the power button is dead...
just connect your rhodium to your computer,
and insert and remove battery two or three times.
will boot up.

Charging Loop?!?! Need Help

Hello! I wasn't able to find anything on this so I'm wondering if my phone is defective...
My phone is stuck in a loop...
1.I plug the phone in it will charge for 5 minutes then try to start up
2.The charging will stop during the boot up (on it own)
3.I imagine there's not enough battery power so the phone will shut off
And this will go on in a continuous loop. Also I can't stop it from booting up so that makes it worse...
I just bought the phone and let the battery drain down the for the first time and it started looping this way. Very odd. I have 2 other HTCs (8925 and 8525) and never had this problem...
So I'm wondering is it
1. The Software (config)
2. The Battery
3. The phone
I've searched the internet and it seems like I'm the only one having this problem...
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Hmmmmmm sounds like a bad phone, I'd return it to your carrier if possible

i had a simular situation w/ my mda...i was on vacation, and when the battery drained, it wouldnt take a charge...the problem was that i was using my girlfriends motorola charger which wasnt strong enough charge a completly drained mda battery...
just ensure you are using the charger that came w/ the phone, as many figure (as did i) that one mini-usb charger is as good as another...
hope that helps...
Having the same issue, my Pro2 charges for couple of minutes than reboots and also the battery won't take a full charge so can Hard Reset .
Anyone else resolved this issue
Try booting your phone without the battery, so it doesn't need to charge
Thanks alot it turned out to be the USB cable. It was defective I was using the charger for my 8925 and it was working no problem but when I switch back to the TP2 it didn't work!

Big Problem Please Help!

My HTC TP2 Battery went dead today. When I got it home I plugged it in and assumed it was charging..
Here's what was really happening.
It charges just enough to boot .. attempts to boot and doesnt have a charge enough to boot all the way up.. Shuts off then charges enough to boot.. Etc..
Then it repeats the same process OVER AND OVER AND OVER
I cannot figure out any way to get this thing to just charge. I have tried for hours now.
Charger is fine but keeps doing the process above..
If any one could help I would appreciate it. I cannot take it back as it has a cooked rom and it has to be charged to change the rom.. I have Absolutely NO friends with the TP2. Am I stuck?

Is the phone off when you're trying to charge it? Off, not in standby.
When it's plugged in and should be charging, is the light on the left side of the ear-speaker orange? Or is that the deal -- it's orange, indicating charging, but actually isn't charging?
How do you know the charger is fine ?
Open your battery cover, .. remove the battery, put the battery again, .. and charge it, .. do NOT turn it ON yet. let it charge for some time, . .and when it is completely charged, .. turn ON the device

This also worked for me. Mine went dead during a conference call. I was surprised to see that the TP2 appears to use more power with WiFi connected and in a call than the charger can provide.

Charge without phone turning on

Seems the bottom half of the battery on my TP2 is no good. It died last night and its stuck in a boot loop now, it charges to a point to turn on then dies. This continues. Any tricks to charge without the phone turning on?
make sure you are using the charger that came with your device...
this happened to me once while on vacation and my batt died...i tried to charge it with a my girlfriends motorolla charger to no avail...the current supplied wasn't strong enough to charge the device...spent the whole 2nd day of vacation looking for an mda charger...lol...
hope that helps...
I've tried multiple USB cables that are all ext-usb. The charger is the original.
What about if you boot to the tri color screen (power + volume down + end key) and let it sit. I'm not sure if it would still charge though but it's worth a try
Sent from my Neopeek-Froyorider RC2 using XDA App
Just tried, no charge light so it dies. I have the battery in a HTC hero right now charging. We'll see what happens.
I have the same problem right now how did you fixed it?????
The phone is booting and shutting down over and over without me turning it on
I found that if i used another cable not from my phone it worked

Hey this same thing is happening to mine! Please help!!! This is a terrible design flaw! It doesn't charge while booting, only when it's off or only when it's completely booted up!

I generally use an external charger, there are a lot of them on ebay, and they are cheap. I have two batteries and just swap them out. I keep the charger at work, so on weekends I sometimes have to recharge via the phone, but generally I never charge that way.

TP2 won't boot or charge either!!

Hey guys, I got a real big problem.
I've got a Rhodium100, but it won't charge nor it'll boot.
When connected to original charger or pc the phone starts. Then I can see the HTC logo and it dies again. The battery seems to be totally dead
What I've triend so far:
1. Pulled out the battery
2. Multiple cabels for the charger
3. Soft reset
4. Hard reset (won't complete because the battery is dead)
5. Checked the on/off button (on top)
What else can I do to fix this problem? I'd like to try anything before sending the phone to HTC (did that 2 times before, but with other problems).
This is what happens: MOVIE
Thanks in advance

Buy a new battery and see if that helps. There are some cheap ones on ebay.
I just found another cable and it seems to be he's charging again. But after 5 hours of charging it's still on 40%.
When the battery-level is around 45% it goes downwards to around 38% and then to 45 again..
This is circulating..
How can this be?
You shouldn't let the battery completely die in the first place. A deep discharge of any Lithium Ion battery is not recommended because of this. If you've tried to do a hard reset and it did not complete, you may have destroyed the ROM image. If it doesn't turn back on, flash a stock ROM.
Always try to charge the device before it gets to 5% remaining battery. 10% is recommended, but 5% is the lowest the battery should ever be. Having a second battery is always a good idea. I have two of them and an external battery charger. This way, I can always have a battery able to charge without needing the device just in case something goes awry.
Make sure you do not turn the device on. Leave the battery in the device overnight on the charger without turning it on. If it still does not function after this, you might try purchasing another battery and charger.
If you have time left on your warranty, this is covered by it. Simply call your carrier or HTC and they will fix it for you. It's generally faster to go through your carrier if you have the option to do so.
Thanks for the tips. I followed them and it seems to be my phone is fully working again!
Nothing helps with TP2 reanimation

I have the same problem since august 2010. I've do the same as you flashing some ROM's also restoring original one(T-Mobile), buying new akku ang external charger- but nothing helps When I place battery in phone it switches on by self(seems like power button abridget but I've checked it with testing device), starting showing T-Mobile logo "Stick together" then shows windows logo then backlight fading then device restarts, so it happen infinite till battery fully goes empty. Now on phone is installed original ROM and I can't install any other- in bootloader I can install only SPL's, but other ROM's not installs (flashing process freezes on 0%). I haven't any ideas, somebody can help me? Thank you all.

It's a dead battery. If it powers on by itself, then you'll either want to get a new battery or an external battery charger. Make sure you're charging from the wall, and not a USB port.

Yes, I do as you suggest - bought new battery and wall charger, but no result. I doubt that new battery or charger is destroyed, but anything is possible... What actually kind of problem if phone couldn't do hard reset, not upgding ROM, also switches on when battery is placed into? 100% fault (discharged) battery?

I mentioned that you may need to charge the battery externally if it is powering on when you insert the battery. You'll either need a friend's phone to charge it, or buy an external charger. With the external charger, let it sit on the charger overnight, pop it in the phone, and then try again. If using an external charger does not work, then you may want to send the device in for repairs/replacement.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus i9250 problem.

Hey everyone. I have huge problem with my Galaxy Nexus i9250 for few days now.
Let me start from beggining.
First it was showing charging symbol even if it ain't plugged in. Then it stopped after I cleaned charging port.
Few weeks back there were great floods in my region (Bosnia) and we were in lack of electricity so I started to charge it on a car charger and after it's completely charged (2h) as soon as I start to use it the battery goes off really fast, example, if I use it for let's say calls or even on "stand by" after 30mins the battery goes for like 40%. That's when problems started to begin. If it was turned off becuase of lack of battery I had to turn it on by pressing "Down volume + power" for first 2 times. Then I had to remove battery for few seconds then put it back not completely but I had to press the battery against those 4 pins which conduct electricity to a cell phone and press those two buttons for like 30 seconds to turn it on. Few days ago, I had same problem, but this time it wasnt empty on battery, it was in my pocked with almost 50% of battery when I took it and I saw it was off. Tried again that same proccedure, it turned on, showed recovery menu and it turned off. Ever since I can't turn it on, it charges, but it doesn't show charging indicator on my screen. When I put my battery in other phone it shows it's fully charged. I can't turn it on, my PC won't reconize it, let's say it's dead. I don't know what's happening, so I'm asking here if anyone knows what to do. Thanks to all.
sounds like a battery + charger issue

You must verify the voltage output of the car adapter you were using with the phone , remember that the fact it has a micro USB does not mean its designed to the specs of your phone, sounds like the battery went berserk after it was charged with that car adapter ... you should not tinker more with the phone and get a new battery and the original charger for it , if you can or are able to ...

Thank you Frank. I already tought nobody will reply to this. So you think if I buy new battery and charger cell phone will start to work?
Car charger was combined, USB cable from Nokia and car adapter is for let's say every cell phone. I have original Samsung Nexus wall charger I got with that cell phone and it charges the battery it just wont turn on the phone. Either PC doesnt want to reconize it, tried with Device Manager to see if is there anything but no. Thank you again for your reply.
Still no luck! Does anyone have something to suggest?
Hmmmm .... still would go for battery malfunction !

you say it charges the battery ? if you are able to see the white icon of the battery charging when the phone is off and you connect the charger , then it's definitely the phone battery .... replace it and lets hope it works out

No, I'm unable to see battery charging indicator. But when I lick the battery you can feel the electricity. Yea, it's stupid method but it does the job. And when I put it in another phone it says it's almost full 99% to be exact. So battery... Gonna buy a new one.

Alright, i have been sailing in the same boat, my i9250 has not been charging for quite some time.
Now for all most few months the phone is charging without any problem. I suspect the Google Search application could be the reason. I uninstalled all the Google Search application update and kept it to the one come by default. Since then i am able to charge my phone without any problem. The Google search version that i have is V 2.2.9.542574.
Try it out. All the best!!
