WM6 German Keyboard (Space to change a ->ä)

Help needed
Using VW6 (Vanilla) on a Germen Hermes. Hardware Keyboard works fine except the space key to change a -> ä, u ->è etc.
Does anybody solved this issue ?
Didn't found any solution on the forum.

hi don't know if this work in wm6 ... i have made it in aku33 test (englisch too) and it works...
change the reg key in oem/qwerty to 3 at the end (dec.)
also look in the wiki there are more things explained...

Already tried, also followed the wiki.... Keyboard is OK. just the space key doesnt change to äöüéàè

You can try to duplicate the file sym.0409.txt in the windows folder and name this new file sym.0407.txt. It worked for me for the french keyboard (sym.040C.txt in french).

What Atmis said, I simply modified the sym.0409.txt file in /Windows so I easily could type Swedish characters such as å,ä & ö with a/o + space. You need to copy it over to your computer with active sync, edit the file then move it back.

Already tried to copy the origional sym.409.txt to sym.407.txt (german) but when i press the "blue" space nothing happens.

You need to replace the sym.0409.txt file if your OS is in English.

Actually i've 3 files (for testing) sym.0409.txt, sym.0407.txt, sym.txt and it does not work.
Having Hermes with QWERTZ keyboard (switzerland) and English WM6 (Vanilla)

That's interesting. I had the same issues when upgrading my device to AKU 3.3. After some changing forward backward between English and German Keyboard it suddenly worked.
I also upgraded a second device and I cannot get the space key working to change between the special letters.
I know it does not help but maybe it's an device bug. I will downgrade the device the other device when I can get it back again and see if it works with the original image.

It was working flawlessly for me, I just had to reboot the device after creating the new file.

... After HardReset, installing the "German Input Cab", modifiying sym.0409.txt and a reboot everything is working fine...
Probably some manipulation described in the wiki i made before installing the cab made the changes...

Ehm. I am not trying to sound stupid or anything. but how do I find this"sym.409.txt"? I would like to change some of the keys into norwegian symbols like æ, ø and å.
I have just heard something about the root folder.
But in that case. where is it, I assume that I am just being blind or something but.

Not blind, the file is hidden, at least on my system with Josh Manulla2D.
To see the file in Windows, using File Explorer, click on "Menu/Show All Files".
My problem is that I have made changes for my German keyboard on an English language install, but I cannot replace the file in \Windows. All I get is an Access Denied message.
Anybody know how I can get past this to replace the sym.409.txt file?
Task Manager is installed so surely it must be some service that needs killing to free up the file.

Bubble Breaker on HD Mini

Tried and tried several time.....

this is original Bubble breaker which works on all platform. Just you need your language packet. Inside of this cab there are czech and slovak version, for English you need to find somewhere file: bbcbres.dll.0409.mui

On my HTC HD MINI wave the original ROM in Portuguese and I can not run the game Bubble Breaker, does anyone can help me.

For your ROM you need language packet bbcbres.dll.0816.mui
if you install previous cab, just rename in windows folder bbcbres.dll.0405.mui
to bbcbres.dll.0816.mui. Bubble breaker should work, just it will be in czech language. I will try to find English version. Any English ROM with WM6.1 has this file inside...

with English file you need to have an English Rom I suposse...

Really you have to install the first cab than the second cab.....
It's wirk for me and 2 my friends!
Sometimes you have to create manually a shortcut!

the way of 2 cabs install it's a strange trikc but work!
You mybe have to create a shortcut to \windows\BubbleBreaker.exe in your windows\start\menu\games directory....
Or copy the shortcut attached in your windows\start\menu\games directory....

CAB Intall with French and English Languages
Hello,
I did not find the French language file
But so that games work in English on the French WM, it is enough to rename the file "bbcbres.dll.0409.mui" to "bbcbres.dll.040C.mui"! (working for me !!)
Finally I have find the french mui file (I have post a request about that here - thank you ayyu3m !!! )
So, I have update the attached cab file !
The attached cab working with English and French ROM and he add a shortcut in "Startmenu/Programs/Games".

Predictive Keyboard Spanish WP7

Friends, here I bring a breakthrough ... install the architect to achieve predictive Spanish (rom is for those with no alternative in English language).
It is very simple, install the xap (need to have the phone unlocked), after installing the program will touchexplorer to my ringtones folder and rename the file, sticking out the extension. wma
would file this name: dictionary.0409.dat I cut and pasted in the windows folder of the phone (asking whetheryou want to replace and say it did) .
Restart the phone and ready ... the Spanish dictionary ...
I can pick up other languages​​, but for now only supported by windows ...

I have a only two languajes in my phone: english and german, then when I try to install your application it doesn't appear any file with the *.wma extension in the ringtones folder. When I've explored the windows folder (with touchxplorer), and there are only two files with the name dictionary...-> one ...0407... and other ...0809... but not ...0409... Could you tell me what can I do?. Thanks a lot and great job.

The application installs the folder / My Rintones / if you do not have is not correctly fitted. Has the phone unlocked? chevron to use it?

Hello again. Thanks for your answer. Yes the phone is unlocked with chevron and the folder name is 'My Device/My Documents/My Ringtones' (in the phone). But the problem is I don't have the archive 'dictionary.0409.dat' in the windows folder, I have 'dictionary.0407.dat' and 'dictionary.0809.dat' (maybe english and german), when I install the aplication the archive 'dictionary.0409.wma' isn't copied in the phone, nothing is copied... Excuse me, I forgot a step ...
After installing the application, go to the menu of installed applications and CHEVRON RINGTONE appears and you click on ... doing that you add the file to the specified folder.

rename the file, but that time the numbering indicates the language that replaces ... In your case you can rename the 0407 or 0809
example, the renamed file change 'dictionary.0409.dat' for 'dictionary.0407.dat' and overwrites

Now it works fine, I have english and spanish (instead of german). Thanks a lot

Hi all, having some problems here...
when trying to deploy the app using the developer tool, get a message of phone to registered on market place or some thing like that, have tried to register the phone using the registration tool on win developer and doesnt work.
did you all had to register phone in order to load XAP files? is there a walk around?
I will try the windows phone device manager, cause i'm having probs on this PC.
Any help will be much appreciated

Swype 3.5 with English/Greek [root]

Since many of us Greek users have a problem with the lack of Greek language in newest Swype, I am making this dedicated thread so that people can easily find the solution as well as to resolve future problems we might be having!
This should work for any ROM
Download Swype.apk
Download LibSwypeCore.so
For Greek language to work, you have to select French language in Swype settings. It is named French, but it is Greek
*Do this using a file explorer that supports root operations (my favorite is ES File explorer - go to settings > advanced > enable root operations)
Note: I do not know how made the modded files but I really appreciate his work

Sorry but you are not allowed to distribute Swype unless it's embedded in a ROM
this is the Swype policy and XDA policy as well

first things first: always do a backup before, this files are for testing / development only!
you should install the bootmenu dettofatto posted in order to do a restore
if your phone doesn't boot anymore.

atm i am trying to build a fully translated rom with the stock blur apps
from 2.3.4. on top of dettofatto's rom but after testing a little bit i've
found some issues and i want to fix them first before i release the rom.
the issues are:
-after updating the google search you'll get a force close when pressing
search button in the app launcher, this problem is also with the original
files, so if anyone knows where to find the eventhandling let me know
-after wiping the phone with cwm almost all social networks disappeared in
the account settings and the social network setup doesn't work anymore,
at least in the german translation ... so it only works if i give you my /data backup
which isn't a good solution ;o)

translatorscript sounds like a automatic,crappy translation. if it works well,iam your biggest fan

only want to say that i like your intension and i´m waiting for translated german language on 2.3.4 german pro!
maybe it´s very useful to take the translation from the pro+ like hnktc already said!
did i undestand you right..you wanna make a stock 2.3.4 rom for pro with german translation...

For putting home made translations..
Copy and past the same file (example: settings.apk) in nottranslated and in translated.
Copy your home made values-xx folder (not past, copy only for now...)
run "run.bat"
wait, see the script and wait some seconds
go into /translated/decoded/settings.apk/res
past your folder (values-xx) now (overwrite)...
wait...

i thought about making a rom for the middle european main languages ...
but to be honest ... i doesn't think its worth the afford, since there are
some things broken and i'm not in the mood to fix things that even
broken in the original 2.3.4 files from verizon ... but maybe the
translated files can be used by others to create a fully functional rom
