i got clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 on my desire
when i try to update it wir rom manager it says that i have 2.5.0.7 on my phone and the news version available is 2.5.0.7 BUT there is 2.5.1.8 available if i download it manualy ... whats the problem?
btw. i downloaded 2.5.1.8 manualy and installed it manauly - in the recoverymenue it says i have 2.5.1.8 bei in the rom manager it says i have 2.5.0.7
why ity keep saying i hav a older version?
why it doesnt download the newer version?
where is the problem?
oh i had the problem with the open desire rom 4.0.36 and now with oxygen 2.0 rc3 ...
btw. the phone works good ... but its wird to me ...
Your permanent recovery is 2.5.0.7.you flashed this with revoked. 2.5.1.8 is fake flashing. If you have s-off you can flash latest recovery through fastboot.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
S-OFF is done - AlphaRev
but how to install the new clockworkmod now?
i have tryed but it always came back to 2.5.0.7 ...
if you already have s-off you must put your phone in fastboot, connect to pc. download latest recovery image of CWM and put name.img (where "name" is the name of the recovery img and i recommend that you name it recovery.img) in tools folder of sdk.open a command prompt and navigate to the tools folder of sdk(example cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools)
then enter
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (waut for send and write message, wait for done message)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot reboot
exit

I had same thing after doing S-off by alpharev.
I had Amon-ra and now cwm. I wish to go back to Amon-ra so my question is:
Is this method (link below) will be good for desire too?
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/15/how-to-flash-a-new-recovery-image-if-you-are-already-rooted/
Thanks for your patience and reply.

Hey guys. Sure it has been asked already. But I tried different ways to flash AmonRa and no one worked. Want to change the recovery because AlphaRevs version is not able to flash radio images.
Tried via:
-Rom Manager (Can't choose "Flash alternate Recovery")
-Unrevoked (unspecified error while rooting)
So what can i do else?
Thx!
phone is certainly rooted and s-offed
Have you tried Android Flasher?
Are you s-off? If yes, do it via fastboot.
But remenber: If you restore a nandroid backup made with clockworkmod by using amonra, you will get an usb brick.

Get android sdk and the needed drivers:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK
Copy the recovery.img to the tools folder of android sdk. Boot your phone into fastboot, connect your phone to your computer, open command and there the tools folder of android sdk and type
Code:
fastboot devices
Now it should the serial number of your device. If it does, type
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
thx! will try it later this day.
I have a Tmobile G2 rooted running Gingervillian (gingerbread 2.3.1) and I tried to install the Desire z hboot to get the Sense ui.
I followed the steps here, "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogZfSWLlvPg"
HERES THE PROCEDURE OF WHAT I DID:
After updating the PC10IMG.zip (Desire Z hboot) folder to the root of my G2, I was stuck on the HTC logo screen after updating. So I followed what the guy said in the video, deleted the PC10IMG file in my SD card then rebooted my phone.
After rebooting my phone, I was booted back same rom. So I flash/recovery my phone through Rom Manager and tried rebooting my phone to clockwork mod recovery mode.
After rebooting, I didn't go to Clockwork Mod but to FASTBOOT screen? I select "bootloader" and it goes to a quick load that says something like "SD loading, no image or wrong image". I select "Recovery" then it goes to the HTC logo for a split second then I'm back to FASTBOOT screen again.
This is the info on the fasboot screen? don't know if that'll help:
Vision pvt eng S-off
Hboot-0.84.2000 (pc1010000)
Microp-0425
Radio-26.02.15_m2
eMMC-boot
Sep 8 2010, 15:65:38
So now, I don't know what to do and my questions are:
1.) Is there a way to go back to the G2 hboot?
2. Can I still fix this and procedure on and install new roms on recovery clockwork mode, using Desire Z hboot? (as the video did)
Please help a brother out I'm still a noob and still learning. If this is in the wrong place, please move it to the correct place.
Anyone? if it seems confusing, please ask questions or if I need to provide more information. I really need help with this. Any suggestions will help.

would any PP99IMG.zip file work? And do I basically put it in the SD's root and put it into the boot menu to update the file?
Thanks
by the way, is this compatible with G2s?
don´t put the pp99img.zip on your sd !
do something different:
download a recovery.img (3.0.2.4 for vision):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...sion#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
be sure to remove any pc10img.zip or so from your sdcard. then put your phone in fastboot mode (power & tp-wake) connect it to pc and flash the recovery through fastboot by typing: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
after that you should be able to enter recovery. be sure to wipe before installing a new rom...

Yes, you can run adb on a Mac. See the link to my adb guide in my signature (assuming you're not viewing from the XDA app, which doesn't show the full sig).
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.
Okay, just to make it clear (I am a "step by step" guy when it comes to technical computer/phone stuff.), from my understanding:
1. Download the recovery.img (3.0.2.4 for vision) and put it in the root of my SD card.
2. Delete any pc10img.zip files from SD card.
3. Turn phone off and then turn phone onto FASTBOOT mode by holding power/volume down/camera or power and tp-wake? (Btw what's tp-wake? and during this process, is the phone in fastboot screen mode while I'm about to type the "flashboot flash recovery recovery.img"?
4. Connect to computer, open up terminal (Mac) and do the ADB process and type in "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
5. Wipe clean and install new rom in recovery mode? (Clockwork Mod recovery mode?)
PLEASE correct my steps or add in any steps that I'm missing. I bought my phone rooted so I never went through these steps before. Anyways please correct me, I don't want to ruin my phone anymore than it is already.
anyone can review my steps?
good morning
ad step 1: don´t put it onto your sd; put it into the adb tool folder on your pc !
ad step 3: tp-wake = the square button at the bottom of your phone (the one that acts like a mouse); to enter fastboot mode press power & tp-wake
...the phone should be in fastboot mode while typing the command.
before you type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" type "fastboot devices" and look if your phone shows up... if so go ahead with flashig the recovery (by the way, you may have to rename the recovery file)
step 4 and 5 look fine...
good luck
okay, I will try it in a little bit here.
In FASTBOOT USB mode, it wont recognize my device but when my device is fully on, adb works.
I get when I type "flashboot devices" (while the phone is on FASTBOOT) in terminal and get:
"-bash: fastboot: command not found"
By the way, I renamed the downloaded flash to "recovery.img" and put that file in the "platform-tools". Don't know if that'll work.
The "fastboot" command should be on your PC in the same folder as the "adb" command. Where did you get adb from, did you install the SDK and platform tools, or something cut-down ?
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.
hm... that means that you do not have fastboot installed. maybe google for fastboot on mac, because i have a linux system... so i can´t help you in that point.
other thing you could do is following this guide (it´s a pc10img.zip with dz hboot and clockwork recovery):
http://www.virtuousrom.com/2011/06/t-mobile-g2-users-migrating-to-desirez.html
but first i would try the fastboot method - it´s safer.
Okay, I got the fastboot devices to read my phone. But it cannot load my recovery.img?
This is what got when I typed in "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" :
error: cannot load 'recovery.img'
rename it to recovery and try again...
It's not loading the img file for some reason..

Hi all,
I'm just exhausted with the following problem i'm having with my Wildfire S. I've followed various procedures with the intention of installing Cyanogen but everything just stops dead at the same point, which is where I attempt to boot my phone into recovery. I'll list below everything I've done so far:
1) Unlocked the bootloader by visiting HTCDev.com, I flashed my Hboot to the correct version, which is "1.09.0099_2.13.401.3_0210_R"
2) did the Identifier token thing successfully too, phone rebooted and factory reset itself.
3) used Unlock Root to root the phone, worked perfect. Phone rebooted and Super User was on my application list.
4) Installed Rom Manager from Google play, Proceeded to flash CWM Recovery to 5.0.2.8, Super User popup appeared asking to to grant root access and confirmed.
5) Copied CM zip file and Google apps zip file to the root of my MicroSD card.
6) Rebooted into the bootloader (Vol down + Power) and selected recovery
This is where it just stops dead, I get a white screen with the HTC logo and it just stops like this forever unless I pull battery out/in and turn on. Phone will boot into Android no problem.
No matter how many times I try booting into Recovery, it will just stop on the white screen with the HTC Logo.
Rebooting into recovery via ROM Manager does the same.
I have flashed a stock ROM back on the phone several times and a system update becomes available which resets the HBoot back to the original version which allows me to retry the entire process. I have tried various different ways to root the phone which all are successful and still the phone freezes when I try to enter recovery at the same point in the procedure.
Please, anyone, help me with this, I have no idea what is going wrong or what to do next
Thanks guys
sorry ignore this post for now

Yours is a Bootloader unlocked phone.......PG76IMG.zips dont work......why dont you try this...
1)Install terminal emulator from market
2)Download CWM recovery from clockworkmod.com
2)If it's a zip file(the one you downloaded),just extract "recovery.img" from it and if the file is an img file rename it to "recovery.img" and put in on the root of sd card(no folders)
3)Open terminal emulator and type "su".Allow superuser permissions
4)Then type the following
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

Click to collapse
See if this works

I do not think that your phone is rooted correctly. I can access terminal as root user with no warnings. On wildfire S there is no flash_image utility so I followed these instuctions > *wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Flash_image* However when I type ./flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img nothink really happens no warnings, no recovery installed. I think flash_image is not supported fo wildfire S.
I think that CWM recovery cannot be started on wildfire S with configuration:
Marvel PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0099
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.54.39.28M
ROM-2.13.401.3
Please tell me I am wrong.
I also noticed that my Baseband version is
47.23c.35.3037H_7.54.39.28M. And all stock roms that I can download are for WFS without H. So I cannot put this ROMs into my phone IT ends with error 132 wrong signature.

Yours match mine perfectly so I guess your right. This particular version of Wildfire S wont allow a custom recovery from running. Its most probably HBoot 1.09.009 and 2.3.5 combo which does it.
wait?
how can we do now?we try stock recovery?
@kdparton
I have the same phone, same problem.
Did you manage to gett acces to recovery menu?
Thank you
Its not that Hard.
Download the current version of CMW on the site rename the img to "recovery.img"
Make a folder in C:/Android, put the "recovery.img" in it and in Bootloader select Fastboot with USB.
Open CMD and type:
cd: c:\android
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Click to collapse
And it shoud normally work.
Make sure you have the adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and the fastboot.exe in the Folder "Android" too.

Is there any way maybe to get the recovery menu from PC?
So I can I root it from there.
Hi
I've looked on here already to try to find a (working) solution for my problem but haven't so far. My HTC desire was
downgraded from ICS to a gingerbread rom successfully - however - upon trying to unlock (unbrand) my phone the
software was stopping this so i tried to install a stock rom on it via usb cable. It downloaded successfully and rebooted.
But when it restarted it stuck on the "htc" loading screen. The only way i can turn it off is to remove the battery - also
when i try to enter recovery it just sticks on the HTC screen too.
This is what it says on the HBOOT screen:
--------------------------------------------------------
-Revolutionary-
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101

If you want it neat and clean to start from beginning, download alpharev downgrade hboot, flash it via fastboot (follow the instructions from site), download 2.3 RUU from htcdev, unpack it and run from your PC.
The previous attempt to return to stock GB ended with failure because you have revolutionary hboot which is write protected and hboot and radio can't be flashed. So, you had the old radio on your device (RADIO-4.05.00.11) and GB needed a newer one and after flashing it didn't want to boot.
With downgrade you will unlock write protection and RUU will overwrite both hboot and radio.

Hi again, thank you for your reply. I'm new to this and when i ran through the instructions on alpharev, it didnt work so im obviously doing something wrong, and don't want to mess it up so could you please say whether this is the correct way to do it
From the instructions on alpharev its goes as:
1) nandroid backup in recovery - I have 4ext recovery, so i just basically click "backup" right?
2) download bravo_downgrade.img
3) go into hboot (power+back button)
Now this is the bit im confused about:
fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img' (change into the correct filename for the HBOOT you downloaded)
4) 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'fastboot erase cache'
6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore.
I don't see these options available to me, is this because I have 4ext and just need the normal clockworkmod?
Thankyou.

6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore.
I don't see these options available to me, is this because I have 4ext and just need the normal clockworkmod?
Thankyou.

4) & 5) are fastboot commands.. so make sure u have fastboot set up on ur computer. click adb & fastboot in my sig if u dont.
once setup, download the bravo_downgrade.img and put it in ur C:\ drive on ur computer, then put ur phone into fastboot, hold back button + power and plug in ur phone (usb) so it says "fastboot usb" then open fastboot command window and type -
fastboot flash hboot c:\bravo_downgrade.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
then boot into recovery and do what u need to do
My Problem Is Solved!!!!!!
Here's a step for people who might have the same questions about flashing recovery.
If you are S-OFF but locked, try to update your hboot. You can download the file through HTCDEV website, just simple create an account and choose to unlock bootloader for DHD, and you will be directed to the hboot download page.
For my case, my DHD can't be recognized by pc. If you meet the same situation, you can run the hboot ruu, find the adb.exe in task manager, right-click to open where it is, scroll down in the folder and find the rom.zip. That's it! Just rename it to PD98IMG.zip and put it in your sdcard root, reboot DHD to bootloader and choose the hboot, follow the instructions to flash it.
After refreshing the hboot, you will notice that your bootloader page has the LOCKED flag but it doesn't matter because you are still S-OFF.
You can flash this file, with the same steps as flashing hboot:
30,4,14[Ace] CWM 6.0.4.8 Advanced Edition / PhilZ Touch 6.29.8 (libtouch_gui 1.90)
Main thread + features + install instructions + dev support http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860 CWM Touch for Ace was a bit old and outdated compared with others recoveries. Now it seems one of the most functional. PhilZ...

The PD98IMG.zip file is on the top. if you want to use other recoveries like TWRP Official or repartitioned one, just download the IMG file, and replace it with the one in PD98IMG.zip. Notice, if you using WinRAR to do this, make sure you choose the storage option for compression.
That's it! Reply if you still have problems. I'd like to help. DHD 4eva!
Hi there,
I'm here to ask if anyone can help me to flash the recovery. I bought a used DHD and even though it's s-off, I can't flash any custom recovery into it.
Here are the methods I tried:
1. Fastboot flash (fastboot flash recovery recovery. img) - the command line shows it was succeeded, but when I tried to boot to recovery, the stock recovery is still there.
2. ADB flash (flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img) - can't find this command which I tried on HTC Hero and worked.
3. ADB dd command (dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/mmcblkop21) command succeeded, but it doesn't work too.
4. PD98IMG.zip - DHD can't recognize the zip file at all.
If you have any idea about this, please reply. Thank you.
