Hi all,
I'm just exhausted with the following problem i'm having with my Wildfire S. I've followed various procedures with the intention of installing Cyanogen but everything just stops dead at the same point, which is where I attempt to boot my phone into recovery. I'll list below everything I've done so far:
1) Unlocked the bootloader by visiting HTCDev.com, I flashed my Hboot to the correct version, which is "1.09.0099_2.13.401.3_0210_R"
2) did the Identifier token thing successfully too, phone rebooted and factory reset itself.
3) used Unlock Root to root the phone, worked perfect. Phone rebooted and Super User was on my application list.
4) Installed Rom Manager from Google play, Proceeded to flash CWM Recovery to 5.0.2.8, Super User popup appeared asking to to grant root access and confirmed.
5) Copied CM zip file and Google apps zip file to the root of my MicroSD card.
6) Rebooted into the bootloader (Vol down + Power) and selected recovery
This is where it just stops dead, I get a white screen with the HTC logo and it just stops like this forever unless I pull battery out/in and turn on. Phone will boot into Android no problem.
No matter how many times I try booting into Recovery, it will just stop on the white screen with the HTC Logo.
Rebooting into recovery via ROM Manager does the same.
I have flashed a stock ROM back on the phone several times and a system update becomes available which resets the HBoot back to the original version which allows me to retry the entire process. I have tried various different ways to root the phone which all are successful and still the phone freezes when I try to enter recovery at the same point in the procedure.
Please, anyone, help me with this, I have no idea what is going wrong or what to do next
Thanks guys
sorry ignore this post for now
You can try here and goto post 78 for the newest version to manually install CWM or try this RZR Recovery version also sd card install.

Thanks for the info bud:
1) tried the First one, I get "Model ID incorrect!, Update Fail" error Message.
2) RZR recovery file is missing and cant be downloaded. Found the file further in the thread. Tried it and I get "CID incorrect! Update Fail" error.
Ok try these..
Remove the "cmw." from cwm.PG76IMG.zip before saving to sdcard.
Remove the "rzr." from rzr.PG76IMG.zip before saving to sdcard.

Yours is a Bootloader unlocked phone.......PG76IMG.zips dont work......why dont you try this...
1)Install terminal emulator from market
2)Download CWM recovery from clockworkmod.com
2)If it's a zip file(the one you downloaded),just extract "recovery.img" from it and if the file is an img file rename it to "recovery.img" and put in on the root of sd card(no folders)
3)Open terminal emulator and type "su".Allow superuser permissions
4)Then type the following
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
Click to collapse
See if this works

Ok, i managed to get SU access by typing "su"

you need to wait
I know some people already return to manufacturer to repair it,that is data base was damage.
I do not think that your phone is rooted correctly. I can access terminal as root user with no warnings. On wildfire S there is no flash_image utility so I followed these instuctions > *wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Flash_image* However when I type ./flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img nothink really happens no warnings, no recovery installed. I think flash_image is not supported fo wildfire S.
I think that CWM recovery cannot be started on wildfire S with configuration:
Marvel PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0099
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.54.39.28M
ROM-2.13.401.3
Please tell me I am wrong.
I also noticed that my Baseband version is
47.23c.35.3037H_7.54.39.28M. And all stock roms that I can download are for WFS without H. So I cannot put this ROMs into my phone IT ends with error 132 wrong signature.

Yours match mine perfectly so I guess your right. This particular version of Wildfire S wont allow a custom recovery from running. Its most probably HBoot 1.09.009 and 2.3.5 combo which does it.
wait?
how can we do now?we try stock recovery?
@kdparton
I have the same phone, same problem.
Did you manage to gett acces to recovery menu?
Thank you
Its not that Hard.
Download the current version of CMW on the site rename the img to "recovery.img"
Make a folder in C:/Android, put the "recovery.img" in it and in Bootloader select Fastboot with USB.
Open CMD and type:
cd: c:\android
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

And it shoud normally work.
Make sure you have the adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and the fastboot.exe in the Folder "Android" too.

SO I've been trying to install the 3.0 cwm recovery but I get errors in Android and in the FASTBOOT USB mode.
In Android is says cannot find flash_image or something like that.
and in FASTBOOT it says error: cannot load 'recovery.img/
I unplugged my device and plugged it back in, rebooted it.
Do I have to have a 2.0 recovery FIRST? or can I just do 3.0 first? Is that even the problem?
I can't figure out what the problem is and I've read like 10 different threads from different forums as well.
Of course I'm perm rooted and I've installed Hboot.

For flash_image, you need to make sure you have the binary. There is a thread all about it. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902493)
For fastboot, is the recovery.img file located in whatever directory you are running the fastboot command from? What command are you running?

Do you have an ENG. Hboot? If not, you can not use fastboot, youll have to flash recovery from terminal using flash_image.
Edit: See in your first post says you have HBoot installed, you mean ENG. Hboot right?
If you do have ENG. Hboot type
Code:
fastboot devices
Do you get a "serial # fastboot" ?
See if you have the right drivers installed. I had ADB up and running but when I tried fastboot it would not recognize my G2 so I had to install new drivers.

Take the .img file that you have for CM 3 and rename it to: recovery.img then place it on your sdcard. Open terminal emulator on your phone and type in the following 3 commands, hitting enter after each one:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
reboot recovery
If you need a copy of the latest CM 3 (3.0.0.5) you can download it from here:

If you want to use flash_image, you need to place the binary on your phone and make it executable. The guide I linked to explains exactly what you are supposed to do.
For fastboot, do you have recovery.img in your tools directory?
I've got the same problem as the OP. How do i know if i have hboot? I have s off using the original visionary method. I try to push the image through termimal but it says the image isn't found. I need to do the entire binary method to get the path to work? this is why i want to wait for the update through rom manager, so i can flash back and forth anytime.

Not exactly sure what you are saying about pushing things through terminal and the binary method, but if you want to use flash_image, you should follow the guide I linked to.
If you want to use flashboot, you need to make sure you have the engineering hboot (if you boot you phone while holding volume down, the first line should say something like ENG S-OFF instead of SHIP S-OFF).
If you want yet another method to flash the recovery, there is also the sticky at the top of this forum.
i found this to be the best and easiest way to flash CWM recovery 3.0.0.5
I found a really easy way to flash the new recovery. My fastboot didnt seem to have an option for a terminal so I thought of this genius yet n00b way. Here are the steps.
Steps:
1. Install clockworkmod from market.
2. Flash Clockworkmod recovery from Rom Manager.
3. Navigate to clockworkmod/download/koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries (or where ever your recovery was downloaded to. This can be done in File Manager, Astro, or Androzip.
4. Mine was "recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.3-vision.img". Rename it to "recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.3-visionXXX.img" or something obviously different.
5. Download clockworkmod 3.0 from hereish:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893933
6. Move your recovery.img to clockworkmod/download/koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries and name it recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.3-vision.img
7. Go into ROM Manager and Flash Clockworkmod recovery, it will say its still 2.5.1.3 when your done. Reboot into recovery and you'll be welcomed by a new orange 3.0

I don't think that's true. Temp rooting with rage doesn't install any apps for you by itself (and the temp root to perm root guides only install Busybox, SuperUser, and the su binary). It's just that most people flash a custom rom after rooting, and many of those roms include flash_image. If you rooted and then stayed on stock for example though, you would have to get the flash_image program yourself (and it's something independent of the kernel).
hi...
can any1 tell me how to install custom roms using pc...........
i have searched the forum....but couldnt find any answer.................
sorry for starting a new thread........
thanks in advance
General Method:
- find, download and copy a flashable rom called "fullwipe 1.3" to the sd
- copy the zip with the rom you want to load in it to your sd card
- reboot into cwm recovery
- install zip from sd card
- choose the fullwipe 1.3 zip
- install
- then choose the rom's zip
- install
- reboot
wait for it to load. there you go.
For more advanced rom's, you must make directory's on your sd card for them to work properly. Follow instructions posted by the Rom's developer for proper installation.
thanks bro..........4 all ur help..............
1 more question........
what about using it through the fone......
i mean .....after downloading through the rom manager..........should i follow the same procedure ????
question
I rooted today, s-off & eng-off, installed rom manager
what do i have to do to get clockwork to work
I try booting into recovery but, display goes blank & has a red triangle symbol & after many minutes nothing happens..... can some inform me of the step I may have missed or something i can do to verify that i have the device set up properly.
Hopefully Thanks in advance.

I can appreciate that, but I need to know what to do. I try to do that & i get an error while attempting to run privileged commands. Flashing sounds all great but I cant seem to get it to do anything in recovery... error issues trying to do that, or anything else, I also have super user update issues that say they put a recovery image on the sd card & to go boot that from within recovery.
Just hoping to find out why i cant do the simple things everyone speaks of.

Well if you can't flash recovery from Rom Manager then there's something wrong with your root privileges or s-offs... Just to make things clear, how did you try to flash the recovery?
AT THE TOP OF THE BOOTLOADER IT MUST SAY "... ENG S-OFF RL" FOR THIS TO WORK
With the device connected, boot into bootloader and select FASTBOOT and press power once.
It will now show FASTBOOT USB, and give you 4 options.
Download the newest 4.x.x.x version of the cwm recovery from the dev section.
Download My Toolkit and Extract to C:\
In the recovery zip that you downloaded from the dev thread, find the "recovery.img" and extract it to the RESOURCE folder of my toolkit. (make sure its only the recovery.img and not the folders it sits in)
open up a command prompt (windows key + R, type "cmd" and hit enter)
type in: cd "C:\HTC ACE TOOLKIT\RESOURCE" and hit enter.
the prompt should now be in that directory.
now type in the following EXACTLY and press enter afterwards:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Let it flash, and badaboom, you have just flash cwm recovery.

well, in that toolkit i told you to download is a command script that does pretty much what I told you do to for the recovery.
Since you and I have the exact same phone I recommend grabbing the radio from the 2.52 korean build (Radio_12.59.60.26U_26.11.04.21_M), and the rill's as well.
Here is the radio and ril (first 2 links, download via the dropbox links): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996630
make sure you're in bootloader > fastboot and it says FASTBOOT USB on the screen
take a radio.img from within the zip and drop it into the resource folder and then run the shorcut in the toolkit.
It will now flash the radio to your phone and reboot.
Now with the rill's you flash via cwm recovery, from the RIL zip you downloaded, off your sd card in the same way you would flash a rom.

leave disk burner outta this. lol
The phone should be in bootloader under "fastboot" so the highlighted area will say FASTBOOT USB (since your phone is connected to your pc).
If radio.img is in the RESOURCE folder of my toolkit, go back to the main folder (HTC ACE TOOLKIT) and just double click the "Flash Radio" shorcut.

Changed Rom
Changed rom last night & wanted to know weather I should flash the "rill's" & "radio" each time I change roms. I just did the radio now so hope that cures the tinny sound, also it sounded kinda tinny just playing music, is there a patch or something else to do or is all that fixed in the radio?
Any suggestion on roms to try? using Revolution HD right now.
Hello, I have like eight hours of continuous searching for solve this problem.
I installed like two months ago the Android Revolutionary HD 6.1.5 ROM, i did S-off, Radio-off, Root, etc, following the tutorials of XDA. But i installed the actualization of ARHD 6.2.0 and it works very nice but one day later when i was talking by the phone it stopped, then sense was not responding, and it finally restarted alone.
The big problem is it was only showing the HTC logo and then the screen puts black.
I get into HBoot and it searches for PD98IMG.zip
i putted the PD98IMG.zip in the card and it says this:
- Sd checking...
Loading...[PD98DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PD98DIAG.nhb]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PD98img.zip]
I say yes and it shows:
- Image unzipping fail!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot
I tried a lot of RUU`s, like 13 and i can´t find one who works, the only who was acepted was ono withe the recovery only. With USB it does not work either.
I sent it to the company who sold me it and they have no idea about...
I hope you can help me, i am a little dissapointed, because i tried all the RUU`s what i founded in the web.
Thank you very much, Freesoft.

Try to go into recovery mode. What exactly is the problem. If it is not booting in...go to recovery and select fix permissions... this will solve any problems. If not try to install a rom with full wipe and reboot. If you flash a PD98IMG.zip then once again you need to root, S OFF, etc etc....
Stop what you are doing before you brick your phone.
The PD98 error you are getting happens to all rooted DHD's, and is nothing to worry about (delete it from your sd card). RUU's are for stock devices, or for returning to stock.
Check to make sure you haven't screwed up your root access, and flash a ROM .zip file from the developers thread (in recovery, from your sd card). And always check the checksum before flashing.

Well, actualy, i can`t get into Recovery, it reboots and the screen turns black, the only thing what the phone admits is PD98IMG.zip.
Thank you very much for responding!
Delete that file from your SD card, and check if you can get into recovery. If yes, download superWIPE for ARHD, and ARHD rom and install it ( it's different base i think, so you have to superWipe it )
PD98IMG.zip is the radio, if that's what you need they can all be found here:

Might be worth flashing the latest and seeing if your phone behaves enough afterwards to let you get into recovery.
I take it you are trying from bootloader?
Also does your computer recognize the phone on usb?

Sounds to me your Recovery has an error.
Download and extract Android Flasher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
Boot into Bootloader & select fastboot
Use AndroidFlasher to install a new Recovery image.

Extract the image to wherever you extracted AndroidFlasher and make sure you select 'already in fastboot' prior to flashing.
Then you should be able to get into Recovery. Full wipe, install ROM, etc.
Hope this solves your problem.

I am trying all this and i think it will work, the problem is my phone is "SHIP S-OFF"
But i don`t know hot to change from Ship to ENG...
Thank you very much for the answer, from now in one week i think my DHD will work again
If memory serves, you only need Eng to change the radio.
But don't quote me on that
Sent from The App that Time Forgot.
I have tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396253
The PD98IMG.zip worked, so i am glad my desire is not bricked yet.
I still not having access to recovery, my phone is SHIP S-OFF not ENG S-OFF and i can`t change the Recovery, i can`t install the SDK drivers for bootloader.
I tried too with Android Flasher, and there doesn`t work because my phone is not ENG S-OFF.
My questions are this: how i can change now to ENG S-OFF?
What else i can do for revive the Desire HD?
Thank a lot for responding this post, i don`t know what i`ll do without all of you!
Personally I see no reason to Eng soff. You can still flash radios and recoveries with just regular soff. Just its done in a different way.
In that thread you posted their is a link for cwr in a pd98img. Just follow the directions I wrote.(its the first section)
But if you are set on getting Eng soff in the dev section you can use jkoljo tool.
Your second question confuses me. You said your phone is now working so what do you mean by reviving your phone?
Well, i tried ADB, the problem now is when i installed the drivers, in the command prompt i cant find my phone.
I was trying with this:
C:\adb devices
List of devices attached
In Device Manager it appairs like: Android Phone>Android ADB Interface
What i can do now?
I know I'm a little annoying, but I will really appreciate your help if we make it work!
Anyone can help with ADB with desire hd?
Well to be able to use command prompt on your computers first off would be to add the adb path which is normally C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools or in C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\tools
Then you'll be able to use adb commands.
if not while in command prompt, just use the cd command to get in that directory so you can use the adb.exe
per exemple;
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\tools
then you'll be able to use commands has
adb push [the file which should be in the same place] /data/local/tmp
Then if you just want to run command on your cell interface just write
adb shell
if you're in root you should start to write beside a #
it would look
<C:\[path]>adb shell
# [here you'll run command on your cellphone]
because if you run in command prompt right away
<C:\>adb device
without having the file to get the adb.exe
But as for using adb shell, if your device is connected and activated in debugged mode you'll be fine.

I did that, it doesn`t work because it says "error: device not found" i tried reinstalling many times the ADB drivers and another few with the path file, no results. With "adb devices" it says "list of devices attached" then, nothing.
I am really gratefull with all your answers, i hope we can made it work
I have a question more, it`s posible to put it in "debugging mode" from HBOOT?
Thanks a lot!
So, nobody can help me? that who help me will be rewarded!
You said only the recovery pd98 works. Reflash it. After it reboot and hangs take out battery and SD card. Reinsert battery and enter boot. Wait for it to scan, then reinsert sdcard and enter recovery. Wipe and reflash a rom or backup
Edit - still confused, from your pm you suggested that your dhd doesn't work? I need a simple yes it boots or doesn't, before we can go anywhere
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I have a Tmobile G2 rooted running Gingervillian (gingerbread 2.3.1) and I tried to install the Desire z hboot to get the Sense ui.
I followed the steps here, "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogZfSWLlvPg"
HERES THE PROCEDURE OF WHAT I DID:
After updating the PC10IMG.zip (Desire Z hboot) folder to the root of my G2, I was stuck on the HTC logo screen after updating. So I followed what the guy said in the video, deleted the PC10IMG file in my SD card then rebooted my phone.
After rebooting my phone, I was booted back same rom. So I flash/recovery my phone through Rom Manager and tried rebooting my phone to clockwork mod recovery mode.
After rebooting, I didn't go to Clockwork Mod but to FASTBOOT screen? I select "bootloader" and it goes to a quick load that says something like "SD loading, no image or wrong image". I select "Recovery" then it goes to the HTC logo for a split second then I'm back to FASTBOOT screen again.
This is the info on the fasboot screen? don't know if that'll help:
Vision pvt eng S-off
Hboot-0.84.2000 (pc1010000)
Microp-0425
Radio-26.02.15_m2
eMMC-boot
Sep 8 2010, 15:65:38
So now, I don't know what to do and my questions are:
1.) Is there a way to go back to the G2 hboot?
2. Can I still fix this and procedure on and install new roms on recovery clockwork mode, using Desire Z hboot? (as the video did)
Please help a brother out I'm still a noob and still learning. If this is in the wrong place, please move it to the correct place.
Anyone? if it seems confusing, please ask questions or if I need to provide more information. I really need help with this. Any suggestions will help.

would any PP99IMG.zip file work? And do I basically put it in the SD's root and put it into the boot menu to update the file?
Thanks
by the way, is this compatible with G2s?
don´t put the pp99img.zip on your sd !
do something different:
download a recovery.img (3.0.2.4 for vision):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...sion#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
be sure to remove any pc10img.zip or so from your sdcard. then put your phone in fastboot mode (power & tp-wake) connect it to pc and flash the recovery through fastboot by typing: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
after that you should be able to enter recovery. be sure to wipe before installing a new rom...

Yes, you can run adb on a Mac. See the link to my adb guide in my signature (assuming you're not viewing from the XDA app, which doesn't show the full sig).
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.
Okay, just to make it clear (I am a "step by step" guy when it comes to technical computer/phone stuff.), from my understanding:
1. Download the recovery.img (3.0.2.4 for vision) and put it in the root of my SD card.
2. Delete any pc10img.zip files from SD card.
3. Turn phone off and then turn phone onto FASTBOOT mode by holding power/volume down/camera or power and tp-wake? (Btw what's tp-wake? and during this process, is the phone in fastboot screen mode while I'm about to type the "flashboot flash recovery recovery.img"?
4. Connect to computer, open up terminal (Mac) and do the ADB process and type in "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
5. Wipe clean and install new rom in recovery mode? (Clockwork Mod recovery mode?)
PLEASE correct my steps or add in any steps that I'm missing. I bought my phone rooted so I never went through these steps before. Anyways please correct me, I don't want to ruin my phone anymore than it is already.
anyone can review my steps?
good morning
ad step 1: don´t put it onto your sd; put it into the adb tool folder on your pc !
ad step 3: tp-wake = the square button at the bottom of your phone (the one that acts like a mouse); to enter fastboot mode press power & tp-wake
...the phone should be in fastboot mode while typing the command.
before you type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" type "fastboot devices" and look if your phone shows up... if so go ahead with flashig the recovery (by the way, you may have to rename the recovery file)
step 4 and 5 look fine...
good luck
okay, I will try it in a little bit here.
In FASTBOOT USB mode, it wont recognize my device but when my device is fully on, adb works.
I get when I type "flashboot devices" (while the phone is on FASTBOOT) in terminal and get:
"-bash: fastboot: command not found"
By the way, I renamed the downloaded flash to "recovery.img" and put that file in the "platform-tools". Don't know if that'll work.
The "fastboot" command should be on your PC in the same folder as the "adb" command. Where did you get adb from, did you install the SDK and platform tools, or something cut-down ?
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.
hm... that means that you do not have fastboot installed. maybe google for fastboot on mac, because i have a linux system... so i can´t help you in that point.
other thing you could do is following this guide (it´s a pc10img.zip with dz hboot and clockwork recovery):
http://www.virtuousrom.com/2011/06/t-mobile-g2-users-migrating-to-desirez.html
but first i would try the fastboot method - it´s safer.
Okay, I got the fastboot devices to read my phone. But it cannot load my recovery.img?
This is what got when I typed in "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" :
error: cannot load 'recovery.img'
rename it to recovery and try again...
It's not loading the img file for some reason..

i can't root my phone because when i go into the recovery mode, the black screen comes up with the 4 lighting keys. i don't know what to do. i read the related posts but nothing seems to help. could you guys please help.. i unlocked my phone for rooting and now i can't do anything.
You can root your phone by using the HTC super tool, just google for it.
I assume you have stock recovery on your phone, then you actually can't really use that recovery. You should try to root it with supertool
and then install CWM with ROM Manager
I hope this came in handy for you!

i tried the supertool but it doesn't work. i tried everything even the clockworkmode recovery, the flashing of cwm works perfectly fine but the recovery mode doesn't show up so that i can install from sd card. only a black screen with key lighted comes up. i tried the things given in the black screen recovery article of xda .. but nothing seems to help. could you help me out to see through this. my moms htc wildfire s which is one year old works perfectly fine but the problem is with my new one.. i also heard that lot of people are experiencing the same.
After unlocking, you have to root the device first then install CWM and take a nandroid backup thru Recovery option.
For rooting you can also use root.zip method. just google it.
To flash CWM, goto Hboot menu and select fastboot, then goto cmd (command prompt) on pc try using fastboot commands to flash boot.img, system.img and recovery.img.
Hope this may be useful.....

bro, this time i flashed the PG76IMG.zip files but when i go into the recovery to flash install from root.zip, the same black screen comes up. this is the problem which i have been having.. the black screen on recovery which makes us do nothing at all..
i think a new custom recovery has to be made for the htc wildfire s inorder to prevent the black screen on recovery. or does anyone know how to root wildfires without the need to go into any custom recovery mode. please help .. this has become a real problem.. i really wish there was a way.

Maybe you need to downgrade your stock ROM (if you still can boot it up so to say).
Look for a RUU for WFS and try to downgrade/upgrade HBOOT and such to an older/newer version.
Sorry that I can't post any links too RUUs, I'm on my phone.
But there is a tread with these in the Dev section I think, but if they don't work you can just google for them.
tbh I have a similar problem with my bro's WFS, I can't even unlock it because of wrong versions a such so I think your problem could be related to this.

I think you you've chosen the wrong cwm. Chose the right one here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213229
download PG76IMG.zip and you need to install it using fastboot, it will not work using the zip file from your sd card. Make sure you delete that file before attempting what is below (adapted from CafeKampuchia's guide on rooting).
You will need SDK tools for Android, Java runtime, and HTC Sync installed on your Windows computer. Install the SDK tools in a directory named something like c:\android. Put the recovery image in this directory, too, not the zip file.
Boot the phone into HBOOT by turning the phone off, removing the battery, replacing the battery then holding down the power key and volume button. After it scans for PG7610.zip, select FASTBOOT and press the power button then connect the USB cable. The word FASTBOOT will change into FASTBOOT USB. If not, then either your USB drivers for the Wildfire S or Android SDK Tools is not installed properly.
Open a command prompt in Windows and navigate to c:\android
Type the following command: fastboot flash recovery [image name.img]. For example:
c:\android\>fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel.img
Hope this will install ClockworkMod recovery properly. (If really press 'thank').

u need a command in cmd to navigate. "cd c:\android"
