Unknown network process - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So yesterday I reported that I had a process showing up in spare parts called "0" at the top under network usage. Thought it was the blockbuster app so I removed that app but I was wrong as the "0" reappeared today. Anybody have any idea as to what this process could be? It's also showing up on my other stock non rooted phone. Also last night I let my battery drain completely during calibration, I plugged it in and let it charge til this morning, when I unplugged it I looked at battery usage just for heck of it and it showed awake time of 1 hour. How the heck! It was dead I plugged it in turned phone on and went to sleep.... no usage any ideas! Thanks.

Battery issue

The other morning I woke up and unplugged my phone and the "Unplug your phone" notification wouldn't go away and the phone thought it was still plugged in. If I rebooted it would just turn off and keep going from the green batter charging icon to a black screen and back. Only way I could turn the phone on would be to actually plug it in again. Problem fixed itself that evening and the phone was fine for a couple days. Today the phone started with the same thing.
I've tried searching but couldn't find anything on this specific issue. Any insight? Thanks in advance.
Brand new ept4g and I got 6hrs of battery life its so lame I have hack so much bad luck with this bad boy but I'm not giving up.

This isn't a battery consumption issue...
Anybody have this problem yet?

I'm having the same problems the last few days. Also when I unplug my phone I get a red exclamation point over my battery widget, when i open the widget it says that the battery is over voltage and the red led light won't go off. Think i'm about to go see what best buy does for me. Been dealing w/ this problem for a few days now.
Did you get a replacement? I haven't had any free time to go to sprint with my problem. It is still happening often though.
I had a similar issue the other morning. Though my phone would only boot back up in recovery mode. I reflashed it to out of the box stock but that didn't make any difference. When it did boot up it would show that it was connected to the usb port but it would not be plugged into anything. I plugged it into a usb port on my computer that I hadn't used with the phone before and it reloaded the drivers on my computer and "that" issue went away. After turning phone off it would start rebooting itself immediately or with in a few seconds of turning off. I let the battery die completely and then recharged it and the automatic reboot went away, at least for most of the day, but last night I turned the phone back off and it rebooted itself. I did reroot and restore my phone after I got it to not show the usb connected or the battery charging while the phone was off icon. Just wish I could figure out why it wants to automatically reboot itself when I shut it off.
Same issue here

I figured a way to shut the phone off and not have it automatically reboot. If after shutting the phone off the normal way and once the screen goes black but before the capacitive lights go out, if I again press the power button, the phone finally shuts down without rebooting itself. Not sure why this is happening but at least I can get it to turn off now.
I found better battery life by determining which app or apps drain the battery. I used Battert spy, cpu spy and system tuner. My problem was Touchdown exchange for Androir 2.x. I switched to Moxier Mail. I would get hours on moderate to heavy use. I got 22.5 hours yesterday on moderate use.

[Q] Stock Battery Usage app not showing drain..

Searched for this and didn't find it in the forum. My phone is not rooted.
I've had this phone maybe a week after launch and this issue has just started happening in the last 4 days or so. It typically seems to happen after charging and unplugging the phone. The stock battery usage app, Settings--> Applications--> Battery usage, shows no battery drain at all while showing the phone as Awake the whole time and Screen on the whole time.
The reality is that the phone was just sitting on the kitchen counter with the screen off and I hadn't touched it the entire time. Rebooting only sometimes seems to make it snap back to reality, there are times when I'll reboot or pull the battery and nothing happens, it just continues to give a false readings.
Anyone else experiencing/experienced this?

new Facebook app draining battery?

I installed the new app yesterday. Its nice to have a options menu again, I set update to never so when I close the app I expected it to fully close but I am left with 3 apps running for Facebook. I left my phone unplugged last night when I went to sleep and my battery went down 12% whilst I slept. Normally only looses about 2-3% in this time. Only app has changed is Facebook so it must be this. Anyone else having this issue?

Same Herr! I only lost 10% but i think this depends ob Thema length offen my night (only 7 hours) and in Thema fact that i'm switching permenantly all my connections off

yes, somehow with the new update, if we press home, the total cpu time will continue going up and eat my battery a lot probably 5% idle per hr wifi sync on.
Then i decided to swipe it away in the multitasking menu, and it stops, battery back to my normal 0.5 - 1% idle per hr wifi on and sync on and whatsapp on. So u can try that. hope that helps.
Glad it's not just me. But I thought I would do some extra testing.
When I first got my Nexus, coming from a rooted CM'd Desire, I was amazed the battery went down only a few percent over night and I've been getting over a day of use with it easily even when using the phone frequently. After an average day I was on 30-45% battery. I even tested with Skype on wifi, then left it on 3G and I still got good battery.
The day after fb install, I barely got through the day. 12% is what I ended up on. I'll test for a few more days.

No help, but this has recently started showing up on my phone. 4.0.4 ROM. Its hovering in the 9% range. Kept my phone awake over 20m since unplugged.

you need to check what's eating the battery mostly.
If you believe Google service is highly use the battery, then check any Google applications that it's always turned on and disable it.
For example, for me, my battery was almost empty within coupe of hours because the Google+ auto upload option was turned on. If the took lots of pictures or Video, and this option was turned on, I'm sure that your battery wouldn't last long time.
You need to check several applications if any option like this turned on.

Strange Excessive Battery Drain

My US unlocked HTC 10 is still unrooted until things smooth down a bit. It has the 1.53.617.5 update installed.
Left it on my desk last night at about 60% on the battery. Woke up this AM (~8 hrs later) and the phone was completely dead with 0% battery.
Any ideas on what could have caused this excessive battery drain?
I would advise you to install a wake lock detector app and check what app is sucking up all your power while the system should be in sleep...
Strange the Boost+ app didn't stop this anyway... this morning i got a message saying TripAdvisor was trying to use my GPS to frequent while system was idle so it turned it off, really happy with that, immediately blocked all GPS access for TripAdvisor as this crap should have not tried to use any recourse (I didn't have it opened for days)
It has not done this on previous nights. Last night I had "Do Not Disturb" activated for the first time. I wonder if that caused the drain.

I think that doesn't affect the battery life, check if you have installed some apps that drains your battery. Or Bt downloading apps drains battery alot too. ? good luck and nice day!
