+1 here i would like to see a sense rom with AOSP
I have already thought this, (I have thought to mix Gingerbread and port sense to it)
But only I can say that is very difficult, because you have to port and modify manually all framework.jar and others.
I tried to do this with AOSP and Froyo 2.2 when there isn't any sense kernels, and finally I couldn't do it because it give a lot of faults before boot.
But I'm interested in it to do this later (gingerbread+sense)

Will they be able to put the drivers for the video camera etc into the ROMS now, or the hydra kernels? I remeber hearing that they needed the source to be able to do this?
new hydra kernels were released the day the source came out, everything works in them so far that I have found.
Wait, so I can upgrad to Froyo, install Sky Raider and a custom overclocked kernel and still have video camera?
if u so desire. yes.
Froyo source does not contain ANY proprietary drivers.
I think he meant kernel source...
froyo Source.
No... He ment froyo source code, not just the kernel. see the attached link Unless i completely read this wrong...
//developer.htc.com
i think...
i remember reading a while ago when we had like skyraider 1.9 that they needed the info from the 2.2 ota to make camera work. i dont think he knows that he needs the new radio. although i think you guys already stated it above. you just need the the new radio but now that unrevoked forever is out you dont need to unroot bro. there is a thread topic very easy good luck
I think what it boils down to is the question "Will we be seeing some cool roms soon?"

roms built from source code ("ground up") rather than roms made from just modifying the stock one that came with the phone
Hi,
Is it possible to port the cyanagon mod settings to sense roms as opendesire and defrost have? Ive looked at the update and it seems to an apk file, so would it just be as simple as installing it?
Not sure if this is the right section but it will get the most answers here and im sure other people will want it.
For anyone who hasnt used it before it gives you music controls on the lock screen as well as other goodies.
Im thinking about trying this on the psychosis rom which has rosie removed.
Thanks in advance!
i pushed cmparts and odparts to /system/app, but it doesnt work because the settings menu are different.
Yeah thought that might happen, thanks for trying anyway!
their kernels are different right?
don't think it'll work
CMParts is "just" an interface to many functionality on cm6 rom
this function can be ported to any AOSP rom (this is already done by OpenDesire and Defrost) but is not possible to port on closed source rom like HTC Sense

And it has nothing to do with the kernel.

Dude... Android 2.3 is Google's and Samsung Nexus S .. not HTC. Don't know if HTC will ever produce anything ... Coming next is thunderbolt

If HTC make a official rom, htc sense will be included, if not, never
Dev make rom with AOSP (Android Open Source Project), not with Sense
Sorry for my poor English, but I hope you understand ...
Edit : there is a lot of ROM in 2.3 just read, only one thing doesn't work ATM, this is the Camera.

I sort of understand.
I understand Sense isnt included and yes, that makes sense (no pun intended) as it is HTC's baby.
Then my question would be better suited as:
Are there stock 2.3 Android ROMs? Most ROMs I see in the developers section have stupid modifications and addons that I can put in myself. I want something stock and then Ill add the neccessary addons/themes if I want.
Look at Oxygen, it's built from source and is pretty much stock 2.3

if u want stock don't install oxygen
try this is the closest to stock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878901&highlight=amethyst
I would wait a while yet I have tried Oxygen and although it works it not yet a viable replacement for a good Froyo ROM. I guess that as the maonth progresses things will change and Gingerbread will be good enough for every day use but it's just my opinion that it still has a way to go.
Thanks for all the replies Its a shame Sense isnt open source but there has to be a sales pitch somewhere.
July is being said for a update to 2.3 so...
720p Not Available in ASOP & Why?
hey guys needed to move from my stock sense after i rooted the other day but can not find no ASOP with 720P, is this due to kernal restrictions or purely ROM builds. Also is it simply not possable to extract sense's camera from a sense rom, unpack a ASOP and add the sense camera in the apps folder and later use it as the default.
thanks
if it was it would have been done already, wait until HTC release the GB kernel for the bravo and it may be possible (from what I've heard)

interesting so you think its totally a kernel thing and not software?

It'll be kernel/driver incompatibility. Unfortunately I'd like to see 720p incorporated into AOSP ROM's too as I use the video quite a lot and prefer the AOSP ROM's but, I suppose, some sacrifices need to be made because it's not a perfect world
Are there any dinc roms that have Sense 4.0?
Or is there a way to find and add Sense 4.0 to my current rom?

There is one for the DInc. It's not very far along and got abandoned months ago. It's called Luxe. It doesn't have working WiFi. Data works I think and phone calls. Not sure how much more tho. I think sdcard kinda works and sound may or may not. The link is on the 3rd page of the development forums.
Adding Sense 4.0 to your current ROM will be next to impossible. It's better to port a Sense 4.0 from a different device to your device.

How would I go about doing that?
I'm not familiar with coding and only use ROMs posted here.

Take my advice. Don't try it. I should have said impossible. Once you add the sense 4.0 framework and replace the older framework, your device will not boot then there's a lot of replacing and edits going on. If you check that thread over for LUXE, I think that's the best place to start as it's a bootable Sense 4.0 ROM for the DInc.
