I am using myn's latest rom, but when I record in hd, it stutters and this even comes out on final video.
I read in some threads it's related to newer hardware/drivers? My evo is fairly new.
What can I do?

Hi All
Which Sense ROM do I need to install to be able to record good 720 HD video?
Is there a Kernel that will work to make Sprint (SprintLover) 3.7 ROM record without chopping up the video?
Video quality is far more important than the frame limit that 3.7 unlocked so if I need to go back a few versions I will.
Thanks
As far as I know they are all pretty much the same as far as video recording goes. Its an evo thing not a rom thing.
I am pretty sure video was a lot better (nearly skip free) a few update (versions) ago.
I use Warm Z 2.2 and 720p recording works just fine for me. Playback shows no choppiness.

did you use a different Kernel than the one built into warm2.2?
I installed warm 2.2 and really like it and so far it is ok with video but does freeze a little. I found running task killer helps video recording with less skips.
My wife is using Netrachy 4.3.4 with SL ROM and we had a horrible experience today where it only recorded 10 seconds of sound and video and then continued to do sound but not video. Really sucks.
seems that with sufficient internal memory video can record at 720
over 150 mb free

What speed is your SD Card? I've heard of reports that the choppiness goes away on microSD cards that are Class 4 and faster, while Class 2 cards seem to experience the choppiness.
There could be tons of different things causing your choppiness, this is just one that I had heard about, so if you have a class 4 or faster card then disregard the above.
i use warm z with netarchy toast 4.3.1 just recorded and played back about 30 sec of vid today first time but was flawless
So i've searched the forum and found very little answers about this.
I've installed CM7 and MIUI (current) ROMS, both times they work fine but i get lousy video playback and compatibility compared with the 2.2 Froyo stock ROM
Getting "this video could not be played" on about 5 different video players.
I've wiped cache, killed apps to free up memory, but video all videos (esp 720p) is choppy and laggy as hell.
Anyone got anything to say about this?
All custom roms not play 720p videos smoothly, or fluently does not display, or gets stuck, I sense trouble sgbs 2.1 rom I did not see ten of the problems I have had, I wonder Is there an upgrade

I was hoping someone could help me with resolving choppy video playback on sense roms on my EVO. Every time I take a video and try to play it the video playback is choppy. I have changed read write speeds of the SD, tried using different media players, different CPU speeds, amongst other things and nothing seems to fix it. I do not notice a problem with aosp roms with choppy playback. I just freshly installed nitrious Rom 1.3.7, stock kernel and still have the issue. Any advice? It's would be great if someone could help me fix this.
Sent from my Modded Evo... It's easier this way.
it's probably just a bad connection
if that doesn't fix your problem, try a different rom
Hey guys,
Forgive my ignorance, as I have searched high and low for any information on this, but I was running TazzSense 3.6 for quite a while with no major issues other than some lag that may have been more due to the apps I had installed, and on that ROM the video playback, including youtube in HQ, was clear and great. I tend to watch a lot of youtube videos. Yesterday, because I wanted to try it out, I flashed the latest Incredibly Paranoid after doing the super duper wipe and everything seems to be working great and I love the interface.
However videos on youtube seem pixelated and grainy even on HQ, compared to the old ROM. This seems to be isolated to Youtube or perhaps flash videos because other videos seem to be fine, but playing youtube videos through the app or a browser looks a bit off. I tried turning HQ off (looks worse obviously) and back on again. I also tried messing with all the combinations of Paranoid settings, which changed the look of the UI but not the video playback. I seem to notice a few rows of black pixels to the top and bottom of the video; it's my understanding that these videos are 480p in HQ, so in my mind should fill the screen, could something be scaling vertically slightly and causing the degradation in quality? Are there any other things I could check on? Any input greatly appreciated; if this belongs somewhere else please forgive me.
Yeah that's a bug in older job kernel. Wait for either new cm10.1 or pa jb4.2 or flash evervolv with new 3.0 kernel.
