I flashed the new radio package; as I have with the previous packages. Like an idiot I pulled my battery out when after reboot the triangle with the ! showed up. now it won't power on or get a charge light when plugged up. So I take it I truly bricked my phone. Is there any place that can fix it (not for free of course)?
Try plunging up using usb on pc .if not can you get into recovery mode? Almost impossible to really brick now a days.I had the same situation and had to recover into nandroid.time consuming but fixable..gl

Just let it sit on the charger for like 10 minutes then take it off then pull battery out for like 5 minutes then put the battery and charger in and try power and volume down. Hope that, works its what I did.
Swyped from Eva runoffing Myn's RLS4!
See if you can boot via advanced otherwise yeah you bricked the phone. Pulling thebattery at that point was how I bricked my first evo. I took it into the sprint store and told them what I did during an update which was true. They replaced my phone under warranty.
I did remove all incriminating files from my SD card such as roms.

Thanks for the ideas but, I did in fact brick my phone. I am just going to replace
Can't restore some Nadroids/flash certain roms
I have a couple of nandroids:
Warm RLS 3
Warm RLS 4
and roms:
Warm RLS 4
CM 6.1.1
I can successfully restore/flash RLS3 and CM 6.1.1, but when try restoring/flashing RLS4 it just hangs at the white HTC Evo 4G screen. There is no logcat activity.
I've tried every permutation of flashing RLS 4 that I can think off and still nothing.
Any ideas as to what's going on? I did update the the latest radio stuff to come out of the 3.7 OTA. I'm going to try downgrading that to see if it helps

Hi everyone,
I got my HTC Incredible 4 months ago and been loving it but having a problem with it constantly rebooting lately. It has been resetting itself for a while now however it didn't really start constantly rebooting until I rooted it a few weeks ago via unrevoked.
At first I thought it was the apps so I deleted a whole bunch of them. It only seemed to reset when I tried to use the web browser. So I would do a battery pull and my droid would reset, the white HTC screen would appear and then go black, vibrate 5 times and then the green light would appear on top. I would keep on doing it until the phone would actually load which is very infrequently.
I tried doing a factory reset however, again when I got to the set up for my gmail, it would reset again.
Do you know if my HTC is bricked or is my SD card corrupt? How would I go about fixing it?
Thanks, I really appreciate your help
Have you done anything else to your phone since rooting? Have you installed a custom ROM? Radio? Kernel? Are you overclocking?
Did you run the unrevoked s-off tool? If so, does it still show s-off? There's several threads open where phones have mysteriously gone back to s-on, and are having problems with the sdcard and/or vibrating x times when turned on.
Have you tried another sdcard?

My post
Someone else's
strange that suddenly this is becoming an issue.
the post count is growing daily...
i wonder if this is a recovery issue? sticking with 2.5.0.5 just in case
It got you too. Man this is starting to get me worried. I've had this happen twice in the past 3 months. And now everyone else is getting it. It may be a corrupt SD card. I'd format the card and back it up before putting it into the new refurb. just get it back to stock and Verizon will replace it. I have a two year contract though, I don't know what I'm gunna do once the warranty is up. And that's two phones for just this issue. I've had blown speaker. twice. Trackpad problems. I hope the Thunderbolt is better cause I will most likely use an upgrade from my family plan for that phone.
BTW, to the OP, you can get the phone to boot with it plugged into power outlet.
I've been having issues with the phone turning off randomly and restarting, seems to do it when it gets hot. Also the phone not responding to power button. Doesn't matter which rom I flash it keeps happening. Thinking about converting back to stock to see if it helps. But I'm unsure why this started happening all the sudden any one else have similar issues??
How often is it happening? Often enough that you may be able to troubleshoot it? Such as.. turn of gps, mobile data, sync, then slowly add them back in one at a time to see what could be causing the problem.

Also, are you under clocking or over clocking your kernel?

My wife's Evo had that exact same problem, but hers is unrooted. We brought it into Sprint and she's getting a brand new phone tonight. They tried running diagnostics on it, but came up with nothing, so that was their last resort...
This seems to only happen to me on aosp roms and not sense.

[Q] My boot loops don't taste good...with or without milk...what is the reason?
My real questions are:
Has anybody experienced my experience and how did they solve the issue?
and
Can someone help me diagnose the issue?
I am seeking help on this topic also.
I have battled and one once before but don't know what was the actual fix.
I tried in the past, couple weeks ago, to upgrade to the new 2.3 roms and have had a lot of trouble with the ol' "random reboots". I don't recall what rom exactly that I tried to put on there but I don't believe that the rom was the issue in this situation do to flashing other roms and encountering the exact same reboot issues.
I originally undervolted using vipermod, updated to the new radios from the present "All Radios" post that was grouped together and then flashed a kernal over the rom that I was trying to use.
I got it booted up no problem, went through the setup and then when it was trying to get the reception and/or 3g established it rebooted...the white HTC boot screen appeared and rebooted over and over again.
I tried reflashing the rom, flashing a different rom and so on.
I sort of ruled out the radios after downgrading them and not getting any different results and started to think it was an overheating issue because when I would leave it off for a while it would work longer before the boot party began.
I read something on another thread that when you remove the battery for so long and boot it back up, it clears the internal memory or something similar to that. I searched the market for a boot logger program and found bootlog, I believe that was the name, and checked the log after pulling the battery and letting it boot up all the way. After reviewing the log I noticed that it had stuff like lowmem, deathpening, killing and what not. I then came to the conclusion that it was more than likely the memory, not a clue if it is internal or talking about the temporary stuff that it may store on the sdcard.
I then decided to check out the partitioning of the sdcard. I decided to raise the swap to something like 1 gig and the ext to 2 gig.
I loaded up CM7, nothing extra, and all was good besides maybe one or two reboots that ended up booting all the way up instead of doing the loop at the white HTC screen.
But now, I followed the instructions that was left on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071547&page=1161 (no blame to the post or rom, just a reference) so I can try out a new sense rom...and...if you don't know by now...mayhem/boot loops. I cannot upload any of the logs because I followed the partition instructions.
I have upgraded and downgraded the PRI and the radios with no luck, I am now going to try the partition swap size again and report back.
I am writing this prior so I can get some helpful suggestions coming my way in the mean time, in case me and the Captain can't make this happen, or be able to post my method to fix my scenario so others may benefit.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I have S-OFF, HBOOT 0.97, radio 2.15.00.11.19
I still have been having tons of issues and I've gone back to roms I ran 6 months ago n still having the same problem. It just randomly shuts off and turns back on sometimes like 5 or 6 times in a row. This is getting very frustrating I'm gonna have to put it back to stock and take it in. I want to smash my evo with a hammer and then blow torch the sh*t out of it.
I'm having the same problem, only with the Inspire 4G though. I notice mine only happens when the screen turns off.. I'm thinking mine might be an underclocking issue or something because if I have an unread message or if the led is on or flashing at all, it works fine.. Wait, no, it just did it again fml
This is why I dont want to upgrade my radios, you say you ruled out those, but your phone is still jackin up on old roms.
It jus seems I never see an issue that cant be solved by reflashing the rom or a redownload the rom and flash, unless......you mess with the radios, then u get issues like this..im no expert, but this is what I see.
....Radios scare me!
If it was me I would proly unroot it and bring it in, or
Copy SD card to your PC.
Format SD.
Run an RUU that matches your original radios.
Copy SD card data back.
Re-root.
Should be brand new then....
EDIT: Scratch that I wouldnt unroot and bring it in. Easier to runn the RUU like I said

Never flashed a radio unless a rom came packaged with one... Couldn't tell you which one because I've flashed a bunch already seeing if that was the problem or not. I'm partitioning my SD card right now to see if that helps.. Oh, and I bought my phone off eBay cause AT&T sucks at life and it's not a year wait anymore to upgrade. God how I miss Cingular.
Think i figured it out on my end... I don't think my phone likes to be underclocked so I bumped up the mhz a little for screen off and I haven't had a problem yet

Again I spoke too soon
I have the HTC Incredible Droid from Verizon. I had rooted the phone and installed Myn's Warm Two Point Two on the device. Everything was working with out issue until the other day. I had made no changes but Monday evening my battery drained. I did not put the device on the charger so I had to charge it. When I turned it on it just kept going in a loop of the DROID Incredible screen and showing the Warm 2.2 screen. I got to work and tried to reinstall the OS on the device. Now it just sits at the Droid Incredible screen. What I am looking for is the Android 2.3.4 software for the Droid. I looked on here but I was unable to find anything. I would like to install Gingerbread but if I need to install a different version that's fine. Just looking for a little help and my friend Google was not very helpful. Maybe I typed in something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
This rom looks like what your looking for + extras

Thank you very much. I am not going to lie. I did not expect this to work on my device. I actually thought I bricked it but it worked. Thanks
If this happens again. Boot into recovery and delete cache and davlik cache. Then reboot.

I know most of the Desire users on here have upgraded but i am on a 24 month contact and require some help!!
My phone since new has been excellent apart from the boot loop problem which HTC fixed with a new motherboard, however today it's all gone to ****. Went to use it and switched on 3G while waiting for it i just put it down for a few seconds, went back to it and it had froze buttons didn't work, screen wouldn't move even long back press didn't kill it.
So (this is were i think i might have broke something) i pulled the battery out, popped it back thinking it just need to restart and it wouldn't turn on!!! thinking that the battery might be flat (it was low at the time) i plugged the charger in but it would do anything (No orange light) and quick google and i find a way to get it charging (Without the battery in, plug the charger in which makes the green and orange led flash then insert the battery) this made the orange led stay on and after a few hours the green led came and i thought OK it should work now.... but it doesn't :-(
Anyone got any ideas?
The phone is rooted/s-off and running Oxygen 2.3.1 so without some life in it to put a RUU on i don't really want to send it to HTC.
Thanks for any help you lot can provide.
James
Hi!
Got the same problem....my Desire won't turn on...
Were you able to fix yours?
I'm on S-Off, too...
THX
Are you able to boot into fastboot / hboot?
I don't know if it is the same problem but the HTC Desire I got can not be turned on for longer than a few seconds after booting into Android (GingerVillain 3.3) (With AC, on battery, USB.. doesn't matter).
The battery indicator is sometimes jumping from 100 to 0 percent and from 0 to 100 percent. Before this the phone had problems with incoming calls not showing up and the other side getting an "calling partner not available".
Aswell the OC/UV Beater daemon was constantly crashing.
Since the phone's recovery menu is still working fine, I tried a full wipe, formating everything, reinstalling the ROM but it didn't help to solve the problem, it just fixed the crashing OC/UV Beater daemon occurring before.
I am rather clueless what to do now. The phone worked fine for many many months with that problem suddenly appearing. It is the phone of my girlfriend, so I cannot tell you exactly what changed in that time. She is claiming that she did not alter anything and with the phone not working after a full wipe, it may be the truth
May the hardware be damaged in some kind? What would be possible steps I could try out next before defining it as scrap metal?
Flash 2.3.3 RUU and if problem persits, call HTC.
Do a full wipe and don't install the rom just leave as is...
I had the same problem... so I tried that and it worked so now I'm using cm7 nightly build #258 for the past 5 months or so and no problems since...

It's usually very difficult to brick a phone. If you can get into your custom recovery then it still works. If not, then get into your hboot and install a custom recovery (if rooted) or RUU rom (if rooted will make it unrooted).
If your phone doesn't turn on, check wires, battery, plug, connector links between battery and phone (clean them). Hopefully you haven't had a sudden power surge which has blown up a component on your desire.

The OP wrote a full wipe did not fix his problem!
EVO 4G, works for ~4 minutes, then the screen shuts off, it vibrates five times, and a green light flashes. Only way to fix it to remove battery.
Last night I was flashing Deck's Alpha1 and a camera mod via TWRP 2.0. Flashed Decks, flashed GAPPS, flashed camera fix from MongooseHelix. Delected reboot system and the phone rebooted into recovery. Odd.
Reboot system again it then went to a black screen / green light flashing (it probably shoot 5 times also, but I did not notice)
Boot, run ICS setup, after a bit it starts crashing and I notice all my old stuff was there even though I did a factory reset/clear caches/data. Odd.
Reboot, works for a minute then acts really strange, I decide I've got a bad flash and go to reboot into recovery. Recovery doesn't load, phone shuts off...
Try again, reboot into bootloader and notice that I am suddenly S-ON (rooted via unrevoked back in 2010). Rut roh.
Slapped a froyo PC36IMG.zip I found on it, booted, no good.
Found a Gingerbread PC36IMG, seemed to work, worked for 5 minutes and then black screen/5 shakes, green light.
Grabbed a RUU from therootofallevo, it said I needed to get the proper version when it was working on the phone.
Have tried getting it up and running long enough to apply unrevoked, but it doesn't seem to recognize the USB for ADB, only as QualComm something or other.
I sort of think the phone is dead. Had some electrical issues my APC UPS did not protect me from and ended up with the 4G being funky. But not sure if there is any step I could possibly do to revive the thing.
As a note, the EVO is not in service, not protected by TEP, so I can do pretty much anything to it and won't cry... I used it for a lot of other things (ip phone, HDMI, etc) and would lie to get it working but will accept it's dead Jim
your problem maybe due to twrp. check out the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400645
