Hi,
Is there a possibility to sync two different email accounts separately with different schedules? E.g. gmail and exchange. Or is it possible to automatically enable and disable push at certain times?
Thx a lot!

They are push I believe with no schedules. Either turn on or off for push. If you turn off sync then you do manually. I dont use gmail tho and use touchdown for corporate

If you are talking about using HTC Mail app to configure your Gmail account, I prefer Gmail application over it. There are some disadvantages like you can't copy text from mails, no syncing schedule etc. But, I still like the Gmail app.
Just wondering if anyone has been or is having issues with their Gmail accounts? Whenever I use my gmail app, I always have to refresh a few times and then it displays any new mail. Nothing ever comes in by itself. Now my 'synced' account through the HTC mail phone accounts does show up immediate emails.
So I am guessing a problem with the new Gmail app? Should I delete the app and reinstall? Thanks,

Which version of gmail are you using currently?
It's probably your settings. But i'm not sure what you want. Are you saying you don't want your emails immediately or you do?
If you aren't getting them immediately then do you have Background Data and Auto Sync checked? As well as when do you have it set to sync?
2.3.5 version
I am want my emails to automatically sync! There should be no reason that I have to manually refresh my emails every time I log in. I am fully snyced on both of my gmail accounts (bus and personal) so not sure whats up? I just redid some of my sync settings so hopefully that will work.

If that doesn't work you could delete gmail app and search for gmail 2.3.4.1 online. Get the apk and install. Make sure updates are unchecked in market afterwards.

Umm, if you have Gmail and setup your phone with your account it will be pushing it if you set it to!?
hmm so it means in the exact moment i receive an email it gets to my phone?
yes. If not, go to Settings, Accounts and check that Google gmail is ticked to sync.

ok, thanks
My email has way to much saved data on my phone. Its the email app, and it causing my internal storage to get low. I checked out app size and the cache is huge, is there a easier way to delete old mail thats saved in the email app? Im using cm7.

No, use the Gmail app for Gmail, use the Email app for all other acounts (like exchange/work accounts).

the reason for this is bc the gmail app pulls it from google's servers, doesn't actually save the email on your phone, just lets you look at it
I'm not sure about CM7 but I use Touchdown for exchange email. My email sync is set 2 weeks so it doesnt use up space. I think with the built in app you can do the same.
I was wondering if there is any way of making the stock mail app to receive push notifications from any imap server.
If I configure my professional mail account on the stock app it needs polling to check the server, what I guess consumes much more battery. If I use k-9 mail or aquamail it works perfectly (selecting 'never' on server polling), these apps doesn't need polling, the message is delivered (pushed) instantly as received on the server.
I can use any of these apps, but I'd like to use the stock mail app if someone knows how to enable this feature on it.
Thank you.
I didn't found a solution and I finally ended to use a third party app: MailDroid.
It's the best in my opinion and I also use push IMAP with it.
Stefan.
