Back up on Android 2.2

Hi, I reset my desire, however I cannot see an option to put back my back ups (messages etc). In 2.1 there was an option to install your back ups, now there isn't.
Is there a way to put back my messages, please help.

Its very easy to backup.
For my contacts: Built in app to export them to SD
SMS - SMSbackup from Android market
Apps/everything else - Titanium back - from Android Market
You can get mybackup pro (Not free) that even backs up your home screens, too. )
Thanks Tander

[Q] HTC Messages

Anyone knows is there any way to remove HTC Messages from desire hd?
You might be able to remove it by uninstalling it from a Rom before you flash it I haven't tried though
Why do you want to remove it? Just switch notifications off and you won't know its there if you use another sms app

Use Handcent SMS it will do the job for you...
@ hawks the screenlock does the purpose but I can't stop ppl from using my mobile but if I hv a sms lock atleast I can prevent them from sneaking in.
Does any have any app that can help me password protect my sms. And as well not degrade the performance.

If that's the case try handcent as sphuyal recommended

@hawk handcent is a entire new sms app. I want the same messaging app but once someone tries to open it he need to enter the password b4 proceeding. I have tried ( as I REM zdbox ) one but it slows down my DHD performance.

Handcent also enables a sms lock for the standard Message app from HTC. (and it probably does this for every app that can acces text messages)
When you want to open the standard message app with handcent installed (and a lock enabled), you will have to unlock it as well.
So you can just install it and disable notifications in handcent, so you won't notice handcent is installed and use it only for the lock system.

Still no app that can remove or merge dublicate contants..

was wondering
Don't know if there's an app for that.
I did it using my google account.
The dialer or contacts app for miui has remove duplicate feature. You could install that or flash it, which ever way works.
Swyped...
I believe that this issue can easily solved by using the HTC sense link function in your people app ...

Login to your Google account then go to Google.com/contacts them remove duplicates near the top left of the screen

First thing after new ROM

Hello.
What is the first thing (or first few things) you do after flashing a new ROM?
Me: disable data =D; I get charged like crazy if I leave it on. I turn it back on only when needed.
The very first thing I do is hit reboot in recovery.
via xda app
Ummmm setting up a google account and sync my contacts...

Same here, make sure I'm signed into my google account and get all my contacts back. Or else I get texts from people and don't know who they're from
Praying to god this would be my last flash. I managed to accomplish that.
Restore contacts and accounts
same here, then reboot.
I disable data..enable wifi and set up my google account, change my wallpaper and titanium restore.
The first thing I do is fill my Google Account in order to reinstall my free apps from the Market and my address book contacts to see if the memory below Ext is well behaved and if so restored with titanium backup.
disabling/freezing apps/services that i dont want, and make my data connection 2g for more batter : O)
Coffee and cigarette and thinking about next step/rom
