I just bought the 2x 1500mah with charger batteries from ebay, and I don't get battery swapping. Every time I switc, do I have to reset battery stats or something in order to get accurate readings? Also, will the batteries be significantly damaged if I leave them charging with the charger for say, 3 months?

Why would you want to charge your battery for three months? I think everyone knows that you should never charge a battery more than 11 weeks and six days.

The battery will retain the full charge for a long long time. I also keep a spare battery stashed and when I've have to use one, they were always either right at 100% or just a little below.
This is very easy to test. Just unplug it. In a few weeks put it in your phone. You'll see tht it kept its charge. They also last longer because there is no initial 5-10% drop.
They can last longer but if I'm heavily using them I only get about 8. They DO however always beat my stock htc one. That is always the quickest to die. I need a better way to save battery power I use juice defender and autostarts and setcpu.

so for swapping batteries, do i just power down and put the other one in? because i heard you have to reset battery stats or else battery percentages will be inaccurate
I've swapped batteries without wiping battery stats, no terrible repercussions here. I usually wipe when I switch from 1500mah battery to 3500 but not when I go back, no problems so far

Anyone know, is it possible that my cheap ebay extended battery causes my phone to lag? Is it possible that the battery doesn't respond well to a spike in amp draw? I swear my phone hangs & slows down more when using this battery. I need to do more testing. Is my hypothesis feasible, or is it all in my head?

Anybody have experience with the 1800mah Mugen Power battery? Are they any good? they are the same size as the regular one and fit the stock back cover.

I have one on the way. Hopefully I get a few extra hours a day out of it. It would be nice to not be panic charging throughout the day.
So far not so good. Lasts til right after work for me on normal use. Reminds of the ****ty Seidio batteries

Great, thanks 06. I'll report back.
I've been using the Mugen 1800 for a couple of months now; I find it does last several hours longer than the stock battery. I am certainly not a heavy user of the phone but I do a lot of reading on it and a lot of google searches. I normally get ~30 - 35 hours between charges. I usually charge over night and then turn the phone off for a bump charge in the morning...works well for me. I especially like that the battery is the same size as the original and does not require a different back.
Great to hear. Familiar with the ole bump charge coming from Dinc 1

been using this for about a month now, on my days off when I turned off the 3G it can easily last for 60~hr on wifi with minimal usage, only a few voice calls, sms/mms, and browsing. But when I have 3G on, using BT and GPS navigator for two hours, I can get about 10hr before i need charging again.
For an accurate account of my battery usage I guess I could say I get about 8 hours out of it with moderate to heavy usage through the day. With the stock battery I'd average about 10 to 12 hours or so. Heaviest battery use is of course screen and everything else I've checked as very normal (<5%).
I'll give it another week then send it back. Every aftermarket battery I've purchased has been bullcrap. The best batteries I've tried are genuine OEM HTC batteries.
The stock Incredible 1 battery is a 1300mah and I purchased a genuine OEM HTC Touch Pro 2 battery at 1500mah for $15. HUGE improvement. Made my $45 Seidio look like a 1000mah. If I could find a comparable HTC battery with a higher capacity I'd gladly pay the same price as the Mugen for it.
I used the HTC branded EVO4G/Touch Pro2 in my original DInc too, and loved it; I tried it in the DInc2 for a couple of weeks without problems other than the back cover not quite closing completely. I still had good signal strength but it bugged me that the back cover wasn't quite right so I tried the Mugen and have been using it since.
I bump charged three times this morning while the phone was off. Haven't touched the phone until now and i'm at 77%. 2 hrs and 20 minutes and I'm down 23%.

Did you charge your mugen for 12hr as they recommended when you received it? I heard when they are new they need to go through 2 to 3 cycles before you see any improvement.

I have a 3500 battery (Ebay) in my rooted epic the battery stats reads 100 percent but when i unplug it it shuts the phone off i know about the battery stats erase in CWM 5 i cleared it but it still saying 100% and i know its not 100 because it has done this b4 when i 1st recived the battery i did break the charge cycle because i use my phone alot for work and plugged and unplugged it alot could that have ruined it
used to work great now its giving me hell
Drain it if possible then Charge it over night and see if it still does it. If not pop in the old battery boot up and then pop in the new one this should update the phone to read the actual percentage.

Try this for kicks and see what happens..wipe battery stats again.. make sure battery is fully charged. Wipe battery stats again, let battery get low, and wipe stats again, then fully charge it. If this doesn't work, u really do have a bad battery.

There are good and bad 3500 mAh batteries. If you sliced them open, more often then not the cheaper ones are two 1200 mAh batteries so you are probably gaining 30-50% more life if it is a good one. The better ones are two 1500 mAh batteries. If he has gone through the wiping of battery stats and recalibration then it is more than likely not a good set of batteries. The cheaper batteries are not always a good deal.
I'm not up-to-date on battery etiquette, so thought I would check with you chaps. Want to make sure I get the best out of the battery, obviously.

What you really want to do is condition your battery. You don't need to do it immediately but in the first week or so of having the phone. By conditioning, I mean... Charging it until it's full, then using it until its fully discharged, then charging it again. Repeat this cycle ("fully discharged when charging") for 3 to 4 times... after that, you'll notice that your battery lasts longer than usual. It's what I've done with all my phones, seemed to work pretty good.

A lot of the time android will shut down just before your battery is 100% empty, you will find if you try to turn your phone on after its shut down it will still boot and run for 15 - 30 mins, depending on battery age and condition ofcorse. And if you keep on turning on the phone when its battery is very low/empty you will then start to damage it.

How to Prime Batteries
...Rechargeable batteries may not deliver their full rated capacity when new and will require formatting. While this applies to most battery systems, manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries disagree. They say that Li-ion is ready at birth and does not need priming. Although this may be true, users have reported some capacity gains by cycling these batteries after long storage....

Conditioning the battery was needed with old style batteries.. new Li-xxx batteries don't need one.. and what does an extra 30mins actually mean to you ...
now you can buy original replacement batteries for 20-30$, so if it loses it's capacity after some time you can easily buy new one...

I'd use the battery as soon as you get it until completely drained.
Then perform a full battery charge without use, its best to do this to ensure a full 0%-100% charge.
I've gone through a number of batteries and long story short, they've all sucked. Even the original stock battery was crap. I've been using this battery for almost 4 weeks and I've been getting absolutely stellar battery life. I'm well beyond that initial conditioning phase.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2450mAH-EB6..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item4ac2c14f8b
2450mah. I'm usually skeptical of higher mah ratings as you can only cram so much juice into a given form factor, but I'm left wondering if lion chemistry has really improved this much. Ever so slightly thicker than a standard stock battery (same size as the 2100mah andida if anyone else had one), but fits the stock battery back w/ a bit of manipulation. E4GT is stock GB27 (w/ root). I'll get more screenshots now that I'm really paying attention to performance.
I'm getting consistent 4hours+ of screen on time while actively using the phone. 2 google accounts, sync enabled, no kernel tricks, 'auto' screen brightness (not lowest), haven't even disabled useless apps, etc.
Sample size will soon be 2; i've ordered a 2nd battery for my wife's phone so I'll compare once it gets here.
tldr: 4+, could probably eek out 5 hours of active screen on phone use w/ a standard size (non-ugly hump) battery.
Nice I can barely get 1 hour of battery life from mine.

im also wondering if this is legit...not a bad investment for $7 but it wouldnt even be here for another month. I just got an epic 4g for $50 and am super satisfied with it (coming from the beast Note 2)...I'm actually surprised with its performance all around EXCEPT for the battery life. I do realize the battery and phone are close to 2 years old which is why im looking into a new battery.....
but really, selling my note 2 for 400 and picking this up for 50 is prob the best investment I ever made, saving my upgrade for "the next next big thing" :good:

Yes, you still use the same stock back the phone came with, its just tighter.
The only question in my mind is longevity, as I have purchased some knockoff batteries (sold as Samsung OEM with almost identical labeling as the original battery), that started to degrade within a month and now are useless except for short term emergencies.
Most people on these forums swear by Anker batteries, which I've never tried, but I still have Ferocity Mobile batteries (bought on ebay but no longer sold) which are still going strong. They just dont hold a candle to these 2450s,so they are my backup batteries now (have two Epic Touch phones in the family).
I will report back periodically on how they are performing over time.

The battery on my m9 has kept itself together well considering it's a year old. I have flashed the sense 8 launcher and now the battery is as good as when I first got it. I wouldn't be worried bout that mate
I haven't had a removable battery since the a Nexus 5. My Nexus 5 turned into a media player and it holds a charge for about 3 days easy. 5 days when I rarely touch it. It's almost going on 3 years old. I don't miss a removable battery all that much as I thought I would.

You also have QC 3.0 and the HTC charger has some cooling tech, so the battery should have a better lifespan than previous iterations anyway.
the point of having replacing battery is to carry one with you at all times to replace it, right?
I think, if you're gonna carry something i would rather have a power bank, less dangerous to have around and takes way more battery and you don't have to remove the battery to use, yes it has to be connect to the phone, but hey, everything has pros and cons.
I prefer the power bank and i also never had to change a battery because it lost quality, but that's me
No, I replace my battery every 6 months as batteries lose capacity, after replacing it, I always get a big increase in battery life, after 1-2 years, it may only holding 60-70% of original charge

You must be doing a lot of charge and discharge cycles a day to wear it out that quick...
So I've had my M7 since I pre-ordered it April of 2013. Still the original battery. If I unplug the phone at 8am and use it normally throughout the day (occasionally browsing reddit/YouTube, texts/messenger/emails during downtime), it probably lasts 8 ish hours without charging it at all.
Not sure if that helps. Can definitely tell it's degraded a bit since I first got it.

Your phone doesn't get to 100% in 5 seconds with a power bank, a replaceable battery does. A replaceable battery is a lot lighter and smaller than a power bank. And who wants to use a phone with something tethered to it?

How do you calibrate battery?
M7 three years old. Always get 4 hours plus sot. Even got seven when reading heavy. I wouldn't worry, just don't charge all night, buy a timer.
Attached the wrong one, even though it was good too.
Batteries are odd things, especially Li-polymer batteries.
Like above, my M7 is 3 years old.
I get 14-20 hours average out of my phone with a LOT of web/email and poor coverage (mentioned because it sucks more juice in thinner coverage). Currently I'm on 13+ hours and have 17% left.
The real damage to these batteries is # of charging cycles and heat. Heat prematurely wears out the chemicals and each time you plug into charge you're killing one of a limited amount of charge cycles.
You should not see a true decrease in capacity as these don't have memory effect.
I'm a horrible user in that I often plug into charge when in the car and tend to run my battery way down before recharging, both of which are hard on a battery.
TLR - you'll be fine

When you get a new phone there is not need to worry about this at the beginning, but after 2-3 months you should think about doing a full discharge, from 100% until it turns off, even after it turns off i don't plug it right in, i try to boot it 2 or 3 times and let it turn off by it self again, then just charge it 100% again, this should help is some cases (do this procedure only once a month maybe, there is no need to do it all the time because it will put strain in the battery and if you do it a lot you will also lose battery life).
Another thing to keep in mind is that tests have shown that if you can, you should charge your phone at +-50% (instead of 20% or less) until 90-98%~, of course not everyone has the time for this but it's something that helps maintain battery life.
Battery's also need exercise and keeping the battery plugged in a lot won't help, if you can avoiding stressing the battery with high temperatures as this also reduces the battery life.
There might be a few more tips for battery's but this is all I remember/know for now, hope it helps :good:
