Is it possible to change the outgoing font for emails? I send a lot of email for work & sometimes need to get a point across or highlight information. I'd like to be able to change the sent font on my EVO.
Does anybody know if this is possible? I've scoured the settings menu and haven't found anything...maybe I wasn't looking hard enough?
I have Search throughout this forum and nothing.
Thanks in advance.
Nope, using the HTC app it looks like you can only change the font size.
is there an app that might let me do this? (bold text, Underline, Etc...

Hey,
i recently switched from an HTC Hero to an iPhone and now "back" to a Desire.
It's great of course but there is one thing I'm missing:
On my here i had got (with Froydvillain) status bar notifications for facebook. Whenever someone made a comment or whatever i got a status bar notification. is this possible on the desire, too?
Thanks
With the current Facebook app 1.5.1 I think, push notifications do exist, but they don't work and need to be fixed. Notifications do happen sometimes but it is useless app.
I've been looking for push notifications for facebook for ages and so far the nearest and best thing I've found is a free app from the market, called Flow.
The free app checks for new notifications every half hour and contains ads (but ad blocking can take care if that) , however the paid version can check much more frequently and also comes with homescreen Widgets.
I'd definitely recommend giving the free version a try

Click to collapse
P.S - it also does pretty much everything the official app does, apart from chat, and does it just as well.

actually, my htc hero had (with the official facebook app) push notification?
So why this feature doesnt work on the desire?
This might be the answer (just found it on XDA-Portal)...
i'm going to try it

Edit:
Doesnt work for my... says: some error occured
Really, try Flow.
The standard Facebook app only notifies of inbox messages, event invites and friend requests but flow notifies of comments, wall posts, likes etc as well - pretty much any notification really

I have a desire and it always sends me notifications about everything that happens, all status comments, friend requests, etc. If you go into the app where it show different icons to go to news feed, profile, etc. press menu then settings, set refresh interval to 30 mins (this may chew your battery but you will get updates) tick the notifications box and all the rest of the boxes.
You should receive notifications to your notifications bar now
I, on occasion, get Notifications - a preview appears in the top left of my screen then when I pull down the Notifications if I tap it then I go thru to a website..anyone help as I'm concerned on any details that could be traced...

do you use any security software that scans the apps you download? maybe you have some adware on your phone.
What programs have you installed recently? I got sense 3.0 media from the market, it was a widget that looked like HTC sense widgets that allowed you to put media shortcuts on, kindacool.
The problem was I got spam texts with html links in my notification bar. Research showed the sense "app" was just a front for adware, sending you notifications that looked strange but led to web sites IF you pressed on them. By pressing on them it directed you to a landing page asking you to verify your google account information and offering a paid monthly subsription through your account.
I deleted the app and haven't had the annoying pop ups since.
Too bad, I actually like the widget itself.............maybe I'll make one that isn't crapware!!!!!!

Wipe and flash again, just to be on the safe side.
Does anyone know when i restart my phone why a random selection of app icons grouped in my homepage folders are replaced with the android green robot icon... The links still work, but i have to deletw and add again to reinstate the correct icon... Is this a known bug? Does it have anything to do with me moving apps to the sd card? Help!

Good morning. So I've been jumping from sms app to app for some time and can't quite fill all my needs. Looking for suggestions.
Need to have custom ringtones per contact
Need to display animated emoticons (wife loves to send these... For good or bad) plus she's got an IPhone... Needs to be compatible.
Needs to not hide the keyboard when adding attachments (textra has this weird bug that doesn't allow me to see the additions page when clicking the add button)
Would like it to be somewhat customizeable.... But that's not a requirement.
Must have a way to not have adds. Via upgrade or Pro version.
So far I've tried Go (no animations)
Textra (keyboard problem)
Ninja (no animation)
Hello (no animation)
Hangouts (the sms is just funky) I haven't seen it be very individually customizable for contacts yet... But the current leader)
I've tried Handcent sliding and their new one as well... Mostly all lack the animated emoticons
Anyone have a suggestion?
And yes... Must be sms,
Thanks!

Try EvolveSMS. I think it does most of what you are looking for!
