Does anyone know when i restart my phone why a random selection of app icons grouped in my homepage folders are replaced with the android green robot icon... The links still work, but i have to deletw and add again to reinstate the correct icon... Is this a known bug? Does it have anything to do with me moving apps to the sd card? Help!

I was wondering if it's possible to change how phonenumbers are shown in contacts, phone dialer message etc.. Currently mine are shown like this: xxx-xxx-xx. I'm running MIUI rom (11.19) now, but the case was the same with cyanogenmod (I think).
I would like them to be shown like this: xxx xx xxx.
Oh, and would it be possible to rearrange the toggle controls (wifi, apn, rotation, etc) in the statusbar in (on?) MIUI rom? They seem to have rearranged them selves now..
Cheers ;-)

Anyone know anything about this?

Put spaces in them when you type them in.
Do it from Gmail on your PC...will take ages from the phone.
Hi guys,
I'm trying to change the icon for handcent app.
I open the archive
Change the ic_handcent.PNG to the icon I want...
Sign the apk and put the signed apk onto my SD card.
I can install the app and open it up to the conversation list fine. But when I try to open a conversation window or go into the settings the screen goes black for a split second and then goes back to the conversation list again making the app pretty useless.
Does any one know why this is happening. Am I maybe doing something wrong when editing or is this just a third party app that just doesn't like being messed with.
Thanks for any help

Hi,
Ever since I've installed the Android 2.3 updateI have a problem:
All icons for apps which are organized in folders and are stored on the SD card have disappeared. The apps still work, but the icon was changed to the standard android icon. If I delete the app icon from the folder and add it again the icon is there, but as soon as I reboot it's gone again.
Any ideas?

Which launcher do you use?
revolutionary
This answer has absolutely nothing to do with my question. The launcher is the app with which you start your programs, customize homescreens, etc.
oh sorry. seems I need to do some homework on the technical terms ...
Then I guess you mean HTC Sense?
HTC sense do never display icons in folders.. Try to use go launcher..

Not true. They do display icons in folders. Are those apps affected moved to the sdcard?

Yes. As stated above only apps I moved to the sd card in android 2.3.3 are affected. Apps that are stored on the phone, display the icons just fine. And with android 2.2 I didn't have the problem either.
So move the apps back to internal memory.
I, on occasion, get Notifications - a preview appears in the top left of my screen then when I pull down the Notifications if I tap it then I go thru to a website..anyone help as I'm concerned on any details that could be traced...

do you use any security software that scans the apps you download? maybe you have some adware on your phone.
What programs have you installed recently? I got sense 3.0 media from the market, it was a widget that looked like HTC sense widgets that allowed you to put media shortcuts on, kindacool.
The problem was I got spam texts with html links in my notification bar. Research showed the sense "app" was just a front for adware, sending you notifications that looked strange but led to web sites IF you pressed on them. By pressing on them it directed you to a landing page asking you to verify your google account information and offering a paid monthly subsription through your account.
I deleted the app and haven't had the annoying pop ups since.
Too bad, I actually like the widget itself.............maybe I'll make one that isn't crapware!!!!!!

Wipe and flash again, just to be on the safe side.
hey all,
just installed the newest freshly squeezed miui and am real happy with it. except one thing. the browser icon is just a brown square. tried installing opera mobile, but its icon was a red square. it really messes with the look on my screen
is there anything I can do? tried clearing launcher cache, but didn't work
thanks
Download a new set of icons over at MIUI android, the Kowalski set looks awesome. And simply reapply the theme.
If its a no go, recommend a reflash and check MD5 of the Rom aswell

yea, I agree. that icon set does look good. anyways I applied it. this seems to fix the opera mobile icon, but not the default browser. might be the icon set didn't have an icon for miui browser
it doesn't matter now really, ill just hide it and use opera. thanks for help
unmount and then after a while mount your sd card from setting, this might also bring back the missing icon
unmounted and remounted, stll the browser icon is weird. I don't see how this would work, as icons aren't stored in sd I think
