Help regarding step 3 on S-OFF - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry to create a thread about this, but I don't want to risk that my phone runs out of battery and then bricks before I get an error in the S-OFF thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9548924&postcount=142
This is my problem:
Can someone please explain to me why my VMWare is writing the following a little bit after step 3 has started:
usb 1-1: device descriptor read/all, error -110
hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1
Right now my phone is still on the HTC logo.
What should i do??

Just burn the cd or mount the image on a usb pen drive why do people have to try and Do things the long way around?
Sent from my spectrum zx

Not to be rude, but that didn't help me or answer my question.
I did try the USB key first, but for some reason my computer couldn't boot from it.
The VMWare worked right away, except that it came with this error at the 3rd step. That is why I am very hesitant to do anything right now.
This is the error.

Someone please explain how that error turned into my phone having S-OFF?
After 3 hours of waiting for an answer I just removed the USB cable, tried to hold the power button to kill it, but that didn't work, then I pressed the vol. down + joypad + power combo to reset it and then it started up with fastboot and in the top it said
AlphaRev
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
Does this mean that it worked anyway?? and it was just a PC issue?

Yes, that means it worked properly. !!!

Hello.
As you will read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303902 ,it's just a question of pins connecting + somes resistors.
It must work.
I will build my own maybe tomorrow for my Note 10.1 ,then report the result.
Doesn't work :crying:
I try many things for useless, i also try to change ROM for Cyanogen 10.2 ,same result.
When i plug power supply to pin 7 & 8 ,the Tab unmount the USB host by itself.

Samsara, in the post from the Tab7.0 forum, they said that the adapter would unmount and then remount the USB host. Did yours not remount the host after it unmounted it?
Hello.
They talk about Paragon HFS app, this app give you choice for mount/unmount NTFS drive only if the drive is accepted by the Tab.
In the Tab, there's no choice, it's look like no drive plugged.
My solution :good:

[Q] HTC Desire Bravo RUU problems

Hi,
my friend bring me this HTC dead - after power on I can see only black screen with HTC logo and four triangles in corners.
I found here some issues about this problem but nothing worked.
I created GoldCard and tried to flash HTC with RUU. I tried many versions but it always crashed. Here are some screens.
Here it looks good

}
But then an error apear
Here is what I can see after disconnecting USB cable after failure
Can someone help me fix this problem? I don't now what do next.
Thank you.
the "RADIO_V2" error is not a good sign unfortunately, I think it's very hard to bring it back to life. Hardware issue rather than software.
Last thing to attempt:
- Put phone in a plastic bag, then put in freezer for 10minutes (seriously)
- Try running the 2.3.3 GB RUU (search for it), it does not need a goldcard.
You may get it booting, but it probably won't last long.
Hi,
i tried to put the phone into freezer for 30 minutes, after that nothing changed. So, you thing that's HW error?

Having trouble installing Windows 10 ARM32 on my Surface RT.

I managed to get up to the "disable secure boot" section of the tutorial, but when I restarted it, I was unable to confirm whether or not secure boot was actually disabled or not, as my Surface RT has kinda... well, derped out.

I've already attempted to boot from a recovery image I downloaded from Microsoft multiple times, but it refuses to boot from USB even when I hold down the volume-down button before and during the boot process. It just goes back to the same screen complaining about a missing/corrupted Winload.efi.
EDIT: I just noticed that there's a similar thread. From the looks of it, I might need to test with some other USB drives.
EDIT 2: Yup. Just needed a different flash drive. I'm back on the road to Win10 RT!

What does classic mean? Just make sure there's usb A on the computer side... Do you have USB debugging and OEM unlocking enabled in developer settings?
yes all active
You didn't install a fastboot driver..
I had the same problem i applied this:
[Guide] Fix Device Not Showing Up In Fastboot Mode (Windows 10/11)
You sir are saint...I've been trying to get fastboot to recognize my OP6T for the last 8 hours. Thank you so much!

This resolved the same issue for me as well. Odd though, because it was working fine for me a couple of months ago.
This is a windows problem, and as others stated downloading the fastboot driver does work, I had to manually install it as an optional update through Windows Update last time it happened, but I prefer to use Linux, as this is one of those "just works" scenarios on there (albeit MSM tool requires Windows, and unaware of a workaround)
