Removing app that is "pending" - Windows Phone 7 General

Does anyone know if there is a way to remove an app that is pending?
I was installing a demo of one of the xbox live games (Twin Blades) and it would freeze up at "installing" every time, and cause the phone to get very hot
now it is stuck in the download section as pending and I can't seem to clear it out.
Any fixes out there?
I'm using an HTC Surround

Have you tried tapping and holding on the download? Should pop up a menu to retry or delete.

Yea, unfortunatley that does nothing. It isn't stuck on an error message (it was the first time, and then I was able to press and hold to get the retry/delete menu), it's just pending. Tapping it brings up a menu that just says its name and that its pending, but a press and hold does nothing

Have you tried connecting the phone with Zune software? Maybe that gets the broken download right.

Appears that anything that has been partially downloaded cannot be canceled. At least from my experience. Extremely annoying.

that doesn't help, although maybe downloading it on the software and installing it will help. I'll give that a try

its happened to me...i just pulled the battery and they were clear in my download history and re-downloaded it....

I have had this issue when an update comes out for an app that I am "trying." The only way I found to fix this, is to uninstall the app from the app list, then reinstall it in the Market.

This is happening to me as well. I bought Puzzle Quest 2 and it's stuck in pending. Since I haven't downloaded it before it doesn't show up in my games list so I can't uninstall it but I can't redownload it either. Also since I bought it the zune software recognizes that and if I try to download it there it says app already purchased.

Happened to me once. I was installing an app on 3G and i exited to do something; when i came back it was stuck on pending.
Had to restart. Didnt pull the battery, just a regular reboot cleared it and i was able to download the app again.

HTC Sense Force Close - Help

I changed to another scene and when it was loading it comes up saying "The application HTC sense has stopped unexpectedly" (the standard FC message). I click force close and it just comes up again.
I have restarted the phone but the error appears when the phone loads. i can access settings by pressing the search button and searching for settings.
I have tried changing back to my original scene and deleting the one i switched to but the error still happens.
Any suggestions? I dont want to have to hard reset my phone :/
Thanks
Normally this is down to an app that you have installed. I had it happen to me last night, i used estrong task manager to kill everything one by one until i found what was causing the crash then killed everything and then uninstalled the program.
You could also try pressing the power button on the phone until the shutdown command comes up and try rebooting your phone to see if that helps first.
I have the same problem.
The biggest problem is that i cannot access the settings so i can be able to uninstall anything or just set the HTC Sens as default.
I don`t know what causing this but already couple of hours i`am in a force close loop not able to do anything...
Any suggestions?
EDIT: I`ve succeeded to enter the settings by pressing the search button as suggested above and uninstalled some programs ... but the problem with the FC of HTC Sense still remains..
Hopefully i`ve Nexus one luncher so i can switch the default home screen... but i can`t lunch the HTC Sense....

Downloading apps to hd7

Hello I was wondering if someone could help with this question
I just got my hd7 and I am having the hardest time trying to download app from the market place. Is there s trick to this? It not like the hd2 were you just go to the market and download a app then you just open it and you can preview your downloaded apps as well
Do I need my PC to download the apps if so that does not make sense why can't I just download them right from my device.
Thanks for any help on this
If you are connected to Wifi, it should work just fine. Apparently there is a limit on file size if you are using the cellphone data network.
It could also be that the market place is having issues. For example, one time it just didn't show a price and the buy button. I had to do a soft reset.
Thank you for replying I have try WiFi its turns off don't know why
Then I can't find anything I download I have a hd2 so using this device is not new
How do you soft reset the HD7 thank your
Soft reset just means restarting the phone. Hold the power button and the screen should eventually say "Goodbye". After the disappears, press the power button to turn it on.
you can also sync with usb and then go to marketplace in the zune software and download the apps you like.
Ok I was playing around with Zune but still practice there are not many free zoos to choose from. Thanks so much for your help

Weird Problem/Crash last night

Last night I set up Watch On - the samsung remote control for TV and STB's, and suddenly the tablet went to a black screen with a white folder option on the left bottom corner and the apps folder icon in the right corner. Infrequently it would flash to the 3rd home page that only had the Guardian news app on (which could also be seen on the black screen), but the screen was non responsive.
Tried turning off (holding power for 10 secs or more), but it didn't respond. Also when holding the power button for a second to get the restart/power off options, as the screen was non responsive they didn't do anything either.
Thought it had bricked itself! Not rooted, totally standard.
Eventually using google found the power, home and volume down action and after 15 secs or so it restarted. Then had an occassional error stating 'set up is not responding'...even though it does!
Can the device be reinstalled using kies? Even if a problem is not identified? I'm slightly concerned by this as never seen anything like this before. Was it just a glitch or likely to be something more severe requiring a return to shop?
thanks
It might of been an app/tablet freeze or some sort. My tab s froze once and I waited 10 minutes for it to respond and it did. So I restarted it and everything has been working fine. It could be that you were low on ram. If it happens again it could be the software in which you have to reinstall/update with kies. If that doesnt work then I would take it to get fix since it could be defective.
how do you reinstall through kies? I can see options for failed installs but not replacing existing installions? I guess a factory reset is worthy first?

I would a factory reset. I forget how to do it with kies and theres videos on youtube to do so. Are you on the latest update?
ok I'll try that first - hate factory resets as it never reinstalls it with the same settings! (using nova...)

Rooted briefly tries updating

This is probably nothing but today I got a bigger flash drive so I cloned it and put it on aftv. I installed some cloud games (purpose of getting more space) then moved them to USB. I reboot because I find the availability size of the drives don't change unless you do. When the aftv booted normally I ever so briefly saw "installing new software" message appear. This only happens to me when installing a new ROM or when wiping data/clear cache etc.
The message was on screen like 3 seconds. I would've missed it if I weren't looking then everything was fine. Its not possible I had updates enabled because I'm meticulous about disabling them EVERYTIME I do anything, especially if I boot to recovery (which I didn't this time) needless to say I disabled them again to be safe.
Any theories on why this happened? I'm not nearly as concerned as I am curious. I mess around with this a lot but this is the first time I've seen the updating notification without there being a reason I could identify...thanks.
Happened again. I wasn't even trying to reproduce the above, just needed a reboot. This aftv is identical to my other in every way except this is wired and I use a powered hub.

You could ignore it or you could try doing a factory reset.

If you think its not a concern, I'm comfortable with it. I factory reset every couple of months anyway so I'll get to it eventually. Thanks.
I am not rooted and it has happened to me twice in the past two hours. Within minutes of opening SPMC both time, a message appears telling me I have software updates the first time I hit the home button and it went away so I went to check for updates and it said I had none. The second time I clicked to install, but nothing happened. I have rebooted and still nothing. Not sure whats causing it, but its clear that there is not really an update. am guessin its a bug. Gonna open SPMC and see it it happens again.

Freezing at initial android set up?

I just got my brand new OP3, opened it and turned it on to start setting it up, it freezes inside the android set up and then restarts itself after a few seconds of being frozen.
Any solutions? I really don't want to return it, I find it a bit stupid it doesn't even work out of the box
Might be a dud. They happen. RMA it.

I don't own this phone, but this happened to me with a Nexus, I turned it off, was able to get into recovery mode with button combinations, then I factory reset, cleared cache, and rebooted, it was fine.
I hope you can give it a try

Tried doing the Factory reset thing, no luck. Talked to OP support and the guy told me to submit a ticket with my issues, and that a "level 2 technician" would help me.
So I got home and plugged it into my PC, turns out the phone doesn't freeze when plugged in via USB. But on the included charger, and without being plugged into anything, it freezes and reboots itself in a continuous loop.
Keep us informed I'd like to hear what the problem/solution is

I also had my Oneplus 3 in a bootloop and freezing while showing either the 1+ square or the rotating red dots.
After I tried to get it repaired by talking with support and had been using my old phone for a few days and reflashing the ROM and recovery many times. I got it working again (ish) now it only freezes ones a day.
Support is a pain, I'm waiting for a level 2 techician for almost a week now.
So I any of you know a solution or have a confirmation that it is a hardware failure, I think we all would like to hear about it.
