if you meant rewipe and install cyanogen mod, well it didn't help

No one has an idea what's up? It just doesn't work, I'm always on the move and being able to download stuff from my phone is important :/
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App

no? no idea anyone?

When I was in the vibrant forums there was talk about using Astro ( from the market ) to make a change to settings to enable downloading. Maybe the new rom needs that setting in the browser. The G2 forums don't have enough experts yet.

Well is weird, sometimes I can download but the files are corruputed, for example with apks it will say that it can't be parsed, attachments from my email just fail and wont download at all... and if I get stuff from mediafire , it works....

Try flashing a different version of cyanogen
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App

You should redownload the file and try to install the file zip again. Perhaps your APN setting. I have no clue. Sorry.

Apn setting uhmmm I remember I changed that once because when I tried virtous I think, messaging won't work.... anyhow, anyone knows the correct settings for the APN settings?

APNs should be:
T-Mobile Data (default)
----
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type: default,supl
T-Mobile FOTA
----
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type: hipri
T-Mobile MMS
----
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type: mms
Any other fields, leave blank. The Virtuous ROM 0.7.2 I'm using right now, fwiw, has the data and MMS APNs combined into one, with the type being default,supl,mms.
As for not being able to download files, try unmounting your SD card first, then downloading, then remounting. I've had to do that once or twice for certain apps.

awesome trying now!!!

If you switched to the CM rom it shouldNt be your apn setting cuz the rom sets them after you install anew rom.

did not got that... could you repeat it please? lol
and well not im with enomthers and as soon as i get out of my job, i'm gonna try downloading, and everything else is been mentioned here.

This sounds like a bad sdcard...
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App

either bad sdcard, or maybe the cyanogenmod when you downloaded messed up? I'm using cyanogenmod 6.0 right now and I can download everything just fine, only problem I have is with my mms, they don't download right away and my connection goes away for a bit when I press download..
download the ROM again and wipe the sdcard completely of everything from your computer, put the ROM on your sdcard and then try installing again. It should work.

It could be your network. I'm running nightly build 49 and I'm not getting any download problems.

I wiped everything and got enomthers, and it just doesn't work, filesonic and such, even over wifi also when I try to get stuff of my email also would fail..... It just fails but then if I get stuff over mediafire for example it works. And even then not all the time.. :/
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App

It can't be this simple but try downloading an app like astro or linda file manager.
I don't know if the cyanogen roms changed it but by defualt andriod will not download a file type it doesn't have an app that recognizes it.

I have astro already, even when I try to get pics from my email it would fail .

[Q] If i load a custom rom will my metro settings be erased?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I load a custom rom for the epic 4g will my metroPCs settings be earsed and reverted back to sprint. This is the only thing stopping me from loading a custom rom because I paid someone to flash it and am unsure if I can get it the settings back by myself.
No.. maybe your mmsc or apn settings.. just back them up with apn backup and restore from the market

Rooted Incredible 2 SMS problems

Hello everyone, I rooted my Incredible 2 last night, and since then I've been trying custom ROMs. I'm currently on MIUI 1.8.19, and I'm having a bit of a problem with SMS messages.
When I send a message from MIUI's Messaging app, the phone will tell me the message was sent, but it isn't actually sent(I tested it using my brother's phone). The phone will not recieve SMS messages either, and this seems to be the case with both of the other ROMs I have tried(CM7 Nightly 46, and OMFGB 1.3)
Any clue what's going on?
Try flashing back to your nand of stock (you made one, right?) Does sms work now? If so, download apn backup and restore from the market and use it to back up your apn to your SD card. After going back to your custom ROM try restoring those apns.
Or maybe try *228 first...

[ROM] Optimized Kezra V4 Final 3G error

Hi All,
I've just installed the OKV4_OC_Final (that one that is for donwload in the first post of the topic) and the data over the network is just don't working, there is no errors or messages, it just don't work as I don't select to use it.
Other issue is that I can't connect to my wifi, the password is correct, it tries to autheticate and then disconnect and then keep doing this.
Any ideas about my problems?
You do full wipes before flash??
And possibly restore System App Data, WiFi or Mobile Data settings with Titanium Back Up??
Both above common causes of probs!!!

Do you have the APN for your provider put into the phone? It may not be included in Kerza's ROM

Sorry, wipe means what you have done, mostly.
Also, Dalvik Cache should be cleared in Advanced. And Cache Partition, etc...
Why are you using RzR??
There were probes with that Recovery if you search Forum....
most ppl now use ClockworkMod Recovery[CWM], seems less problems......search forum, it's there....you can flash it with ODIN or adb.
Also, did you make Nandroid BkUp with Rzr?
If so, and you need to restore, you should also use RzR.

I'm using RzR because it's the first that I've founded in the forum, I'll try to use CWM instead.

For flash Recovery CWM with ODIN......see post below:

It will be .md5 to flash as One-Package......
I think post has also ODIN 4.43 and Ancora.ops file, needed for flash.
Make sure USB debugging is checked in settings!!!

Keep cool dude, I've solved this issue
I've installed CWM then OKV4 again (no backup done and restored), obviusly I've wiped the cache and data before install.
The problem continues, the 3G just doesn't work!
I've installed the COW ROM too, same problem, nothing about 3G.

OK dude.....sorry for using those!!!
APN is Access Point Name.......
basically it is the settings which you need to use your phone on your Mobile Network for Internet and MMS......
Settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names
Your Mobile Network Settings are there......
if not, you need to set them up, or get them from your Service Provider....
possibly "Over The Air" [OTA] ......
Some providers can send their settings to your phone from their Internet site via a Set-up SMS...... which you can install.

hi frede_sch
i'm newbie using SGW and i had the same problem
first of all i found your question when i was asking the same thing to google
your list of apn is empty and you have to create a new apn
it's quite easy and fast. just try to search the apn data of your service provider
--
example: my service provider is TIM
Name = TIM Dados
APN = tim.br
Proxy = Not defined
Port = Not defined
Username = tim
Password = tim
Server = Not defined
MMSC = Not defined
MMS proxy = Not defined
MMS port = Not defined
MCC = 724
MNC = 02
APN type = Internet
i found these values on the internet and i created a new apn with them
find your apn information from your service provider and insert them filling the spaces on your phone
hope it helps you

[GUIDE] Get ANY 4.2.2 PrimoC ROM Working on Cricket

I've decided to make a solution for primoc users who are on the Cricket network and want to have working Mms on a custom ROM due to requests.
EXPERIMENT:
Nestoh has included my patch and added his own Virgin Mobile carrier text mod to it in a flashable zip. Try it and report if it works for you please!!! (Recommended to try on RhythmicRom!)
DOWNLOAD
Okay so this is quite simple.
Step 1: Download this and copy to your SD Card.
Step 2: Flash the VMtoCricket.zip in recovery
Step 3: Wipe Cache & Davlik then reboot into your ROM
Okay, now the easy part is done. Now we will change your APN settings to get your phone up and running on Cricket.
Now Follow These Steps:
-Open voice dialer
-Say Open Apn's
-Open Spint APN
-Hit Menu then Delete Sprint APN
-Hit menu then New APN
-Input the APN settings for cricket
APN Settings:
Code:
Carrier=Cricket
Apn=Cricket
Proxy=wap.mycricket.com
Port=8080
[email protected]
Password=cricket
MMSC=http://mms.mycricket.com/mycricket/mms.php
Hopefully this works for you! Fяy has verified for me it has worked.
This works fully now i finally have working mms on my rom
Just installed this, but I haven't tried to send any mms. Just wanted to add this onto it. Since it still says the carrier name is Virgin Mobile, here's a quick fix for that.
1. Download this http://www.mediafire.com/?lul47jcyj52t49c
2. Copy and paste it into your /system/framework
3. Set the permissions to -rw-r--r--
4. Reboot
Note- Make a backup before installing just in case. Because I know some people will forget to set the permissions or will set them wrong. Also, try pushing it through ADB, it's much easier.
Edit: By the way, this is for the Rhytmic Rom
ok... I just installed Rhythmic on my wife's phone... flawless! and flashed the cricket mms fix... working!! I just wanted to drop by an tell you THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No? Its the framework-res.apk its in your /system/framework folder. Do this step by step. Make a backup first tho.
1. The apk you downloaded (which is the framework-res.apk) rename it to 1framework-res.apk
2. Copy and paste it to the folder /system/framework
3. Set the permissions to -rw-r--r--
4. Delete the other framework-res.apk
5. Rename the '1framework-res.apk' to just 'framework-res.apk'
6. Reboot your phone.

Cloudy Roms for LS980

Has anyone gotten any of the Cloudyfa (CloudyFlex/Pro2/Stock) roms to work for our device? It boots fine (CloudyPro II) but I can't send texts or get data. If you have, can you tell me how you did it or point me in the direction of a thread/post that has instructions?

Hey so I actually got it working, LTE, SMS/MMS, and all (CloudyPro II, that is). It was working perfectly but after restoring it (I went back to the ZVC rom for a sec to backup my text messages), I ended up constantly getting the systemui FC over and over, even after another clean flash, so I had to restore back to my ZVC backup. I'll try again tonight though. Also, the camcorder does not work for the LS980, I tried with stock app, google cam, and snapchat, but that's a known issue over in the CloudyPro II thread.
Here's what I did:
1. backup APN with APN Backup and Restore from play store (*Move to "system/priv-app" folder for it to work in kitkat*)
2. backup with Titanium Backup and do a nandroid
3. wipe system, data, dalvik and cache
4. flash CloudyPro II and select LS980 in aroma (i also kept all the bloat, i think)
5. reboot
6. install and restore APN with APN Backup and Restore (have to move to "system/priv-app"again)
7. reboot (and fix permissions if you feel like it)
8. go into mobile networks and you should have the standard options (Global, LTE/CDMA, CDMA, etc.)
9. enjoy?
Also, the usim error for text messages seems to only happen in the stock messaging app, because when I switched to hangouts for sms, they sent without a hitch.
I hope this helps!
Thanks to those who suggested APN Backup and Restore!

What I find works is to start on rooted stock, download APN Backup and Restore, backup APNs, flash the rom you want to use, then install APN Backup and Restore and /system/app Mover from the play store using Wifi, use /system/app Mover to make APN Backup and Restore a system app, reboot, open APN Backup and Restore, hit menu and select "Disable ICS Check" then restore the APNs you backed up from stock.
Reboot, and enjoy working data, MMS and SMS.
Did that actually work on those 2 types?
I know I put Sprint apn's on cloudy flex but it didn't help

Cloudy Roms are stock based custom ROM's. We can flash if you have recovery other Roms that are KitKat base that will work on ls980.
There aren't many. And yet I remember someone showing a way how to manipulate a different ROM to possibly work.
Right now they work voice just not data. And no, APN is not the main problem.

i got tried it out today. it works i used auto-rec to put it on my phone. just like the op says u have to have a apn back up and system/app mover to make the apn back up app, a system app if that makes sense. back up your apns, your phone through twrp(thats what i used) and the flash the rom. then download apn back up again with system app mover, make apn back up app, a system app and restore your APN's.
tried using the APN Backup and Restore and keep getting an error message that says Android 4.0+ does not allow 3rd party apps to Write APN settings??
nevermind.... read how to make it a system app and disable ICS check

Hey peeps, I updated the OP (is that what people usually do in these situations? idk) with what I did to get CloudyPro II working. Hopefully the camcorder and knock code will get fixed soon. Besides those things, the rom actually runs pretty well :yay:

Yea, I ran 2.4 for the past few days....Sms over hangouts is fine, but I have been obsessed ever since I realized that the stock app had a notification bubble from the drop down...
The Pro port doesn't have what I like, plus it is more buggy than Flex...imho
Flex has features...plus the lock screen is fresh! Let's pull our heads together and figure this out around the apn trick because from my experience as far as Flex is concerned that is not needed...
NFC is not working cursed by NXP chip
But evrythink else is working good :good:
