Has anyone gotten any of the Cloudyfa (CloudyFlex/Pro2/Stock) roms to work for our device? It boots fine (CloudyPro II) but I can't send texts or get data. If you have, can you tell me how you did it or point me in the direction of a thread/post that has instructions?
Thanks guys!

Hey so I actually got it working, LTE, SMS/MMS, and all (CloudyPro II, that is). It was working perfectly but after restoring it (I went back to the ZVC rom for a sec to backup my text messages), I ended up constantly getting the systemui FC over and over, even after another clean flash, so I had to restore back to my ZVC backup. I'll try again tonight though. Also, the camcorder does not work for the LS980, I tried with stock app, google cam, and snapchat, but that's a known issue over in the CloudyPro II thread.
Here's what I did:
1. backup APN with APN Backup and Restore from play store (*Move to "system/priv-app" folder for it to work in kitkat*)
2. backup with Titanium Backup and do a nandroid
3. wipe system, data, dalvik and cache
4. flash CloudyPro II and select LS980 in aroma (i also kept all the bloat, i think)
5. reboot
6. install and restore APN with APN Backup and Restore (have to move to "system/priv-app"again)
7. reboot (and fix permissions if you feel like it)
8. go into mobile networks and you should have the standard options (Global, LTE/CDMA, CDMA, etc.)
9. enjoy?
Also, the usim error for text messages seems to only happen in the stock messaging app, because when I switched to hangouts for sms, they sent without a hitch.
I hope this helps!
Thanks to those who suggested APN Backup and Restore!
Hi, i successfully flashed a debloted tmo stock 4.4.2 on my ls980. I will pm you if helps.

What I find works is to start on rooted stock, download APN Backup and Restore, backup APNs, flash the rom you want to use, then install APN Backup and Restore and /system/app Mover from the play store using Wifi, use /system/app Mover to make APN Backup and Restore a system app, reboot, open APN Backup and Restore, hit menu and select "Disable ICS Check" then restore the APNs you backed up from stock.
Reboot, and enjoy working data, MMS and SMS.
Did that actually work on those 2 types?
I know I put Sprint apn's on cloudy flex but it didn't help

if anyone can get data on working on cloudy roms, pls post up.... really wanna give pro II a shot, but obviously need data working.
I'm going to try some odds and ends to see if I can figure something out. No promises as I'm no where near a developer. But willing to tinker

Cloudy Roms are stock based custom ROM's. We can flash if you have recovery other Roms that are KitKat base that will work on ls980.
There aren't many. And yet I remember someone showing a way how to manipulate a different ROM to possibly work.
Right now they work voice just not data. And no, APN is not the main problem.

I'm currently using cloudypro with data, voice and SMS/MMS. I did the APN backup and restored and rebooted.

I'll try cloudy pro, maybe something different between the two.
But tried the APN backup restore on cloudy flex.

i got tried it out today. it works i used auto-rec to put it on my phone. just like the op says u have to have a apn back up and system/app mover to make the apn back up app, a system app if that makes sense. back up your apns, your phone through twrp(thats what i used) and the flash the rom. then download apn back up again with system app mover, make apn back up app, a system app and restore your APN's.
tried using the APN Backup and Restore and keep getting an error message that says Android 4.0+ does not allow 3rd party apps to Write APN settings??
nevermind.... read how to make it a system app and disable ICS check

Let me know how it goes. Camera works but the video recorder doesn't. it tells me com.android.systemui failed force close...let me know if this does the same for you please
Hey peeps, I updated the OP (is that what people usually do in these situations? idk) with what I did to get CloudyPro II working. Hopefully the camcorder and knock code will get fixed soon. Besides those things, the rom actually runs pretty well :yay:
I found a thread on building ROMs and getting stuff together to see if I can't get cloudy flex working. I really liked it.

Yea, I ran 2.4 for the past few days....Sms over hangouts is fine, but I have been obsessed ever since I realized that the stock app had a notification bubble from the drop down...
The Pro port doesn't have what I like, plus it is more buggy than Flex...imho
Flex has features...plus the lock screen is fresh! Let's pull our heads together and figure this out around the apn trick because from my experience as far as Flex is concerned that is not needed...
NFC is not working cursed by NXP chip
But evrythink else is working good :good:

Hello everyone, I rooted my Incredible 2 last night, and since then I've been trying custom ROMs. I'm currently on MIUI 1.8.19, and I'm having a bit of a problem with SMS messages.
When I send a message from MIUI's Messaging app, the phone will tell me the message was sent, but it isn't actually sent(I tested it using my brother's phone). The phone will not recieve SMS messages either, and this seems to be the case with both of the other ROMs I have tried(CM7 Nightly 46, and OMFGB 1.3)
Any clue what's going on?
Try flashing back to your nand of stock (you made one, right?) Does sms work now? If so, download apn backup and restore from the market and use it to back up your apn to your SD card. After going back to your custom ROM try restoring those apns.
Or maybe try *228 first...

Thanks! I flashed back to my stock setup, and tried out that apn backup thing and my SMS and MMS started working again
So basically, I'm on a ROM, that updates very frequently. Almost all dev say to do a CLEAN install, meaning deleting everything and then flashing the ROM. I'm really sick and tired of re-downloading all apps I had before. Going back into settings tweaking everything, putting back my wallpaper and such. There's got to be an easy way, people tell me having a micro SD slot makes it easier on flashing. Can someone shed some light, theres got to be an easier way then what I've been doing.

Titanium backup. It'll take care of backing up your apps, sms, wifi networks, call log, and accounts no problem. Settings are a bit harder just because there could be minor changes that differ from what you have backed up and could cause conflicts if you we're to restore the different configurations.

You can dirty flash. I still would clean flash after awhile of dirty flashing tho.

I hear, if you do that and reinstall everything with Titanium backup, its not consider a clean install anymore, I could be wrong. Oh do you know how does a micro-SD become handy when flashing roms?

Ugh, whenever I do a dirty flash, I just feel like my phone will just be buggy, even though it might not, it just bugs me alot.
I always restore all user apps with their data and my call logs, sms, and mms using titanium and never have a problem. I use my sd card to put all my backups on to save space.

Just to add in case you need to do a full wipe on internal if you have your pictures music etc on external then it's not a huge problem.

You can back up data in CWM or TWRP recovery, then restore once you flash everything. That will restore everything back to the way you had it, just on the newer rom version (or new rom, depending on what you flashed).
If you hate dirty flashing, back up the apks using rom toolbox or titanium backup (there are many applications).
If you're tired of adjusting the settings, back up app cache/data (may even say app settings depending on which backup application you use) and restore after you flash the rom.
My advice is to just use cwm restore; its easy and I don't have to mess with anything.
Restoring app data into a new build ...(unless using the exact same build )..
Is like unprotected sex...
You might get lucky ...you might not ...or you might get phone VD...
It's up to you really ...LOL..g
I was hoping to get some input from anyone running Cloudy flex 1.4 on their Sprint G2? I have never really had good experiences with mult-variant roms. I am currently stock unrooted ZVA but really like the look of the rom. I would consider flashing if there are some happy campers. What flashing procedure worked the best etc. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
I hear crickets. Lol. No one is running Cloudy Flex on their Sprint G2?

I have used it and it works great. You have to do a little bit of extra work because there's no menu option for downloading PRL and Profile though. To enable data, you need to flash a working stock-based rom, grab APN Backup and Restore from the play store, backup APNs, flash CloudyFlex, install /system/app mover from play store, make APN Backup and Restore a system app, reboot, run APN Backup and Restore, hit menu->disable ICS check, then restore APNs. Reboot again, and done. Everything should work perfectly.
I even got fantastic battery life using Dorimanx kernel.
Thanks for the post. Should be easy enough.

Anyone Having trouble with in-app purchasing specially on viper or google apps?
Recently after updating to 4.4.2 iam having problem with it and sometimes iam getting "your device does not support in app purchases"
Which is wierd! anyone had this issue before?
Are you running my ported kitkat rom? I tried to purchase an app yesterday but it wouldn't work. Been planning to look into this but haven't had time. Haven't tried since yesterday either.

Yes iam using LiquidSmooth Rom,also tried other roms and it has the same problem for some reason,is there any option to enable it or its from ROM or Build itself?
Or it could be a very simple explaination that the App either is not updated to Kitkat or does not like rooted devices.

In app manager, try clearing data on all Google apps, most importantly, play store, gms, gsf, gmail and any others you think might be closely tied to them. Reboot and reset up. If that doesn't work, try again but also uninstall updates. Reboot and give it time to auto update them again.

Check in your build.prop to make sure your device model is correctly entered. Its just a guess but is what I plan to try first when I get a chance to look into it in my rom.

Still Cant find a solution this is really wierd
Best I can think of is to nandroid, odin back to stock with latest firmware, then flash your rom clean and try it that way. If it still doesnt work try again on stock touchwiz. This way youll know if its something wrong with your account, or something wrong with your rom and data. Also, from your computer, manually log out of any google services.
Restoring the nandroid data backup will likely cause it to happen again. Mine started working again on its own, so im not sure what the cause was...

None Worked so far
Hi all,
(Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere...I just did a search and nothing came back so here goes...)
I am experienced droid user and self confessed flashaholic.
However, I have an issue which I've had for a while and can't seem to resolve, so I really hope someone might have an idea of how to help.
When clean-flashing a new ROM, the Lollipop set up asks which of my devices I would like to restore to this "new" device, but it never has my G3 in the list. Its got my Xperia tablet, by old M7, and my Nexus 7, but not the G3.
I've checked all backup settings are correct, and the phone is definitely recognised in the Play Store as I can install apps to it via a web browser.
I've gone as far as doing a total wipe of the internal storage, I've gone back and forth between Stock LG ROMs and AOSP based ones, and it keeps happening.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this, and indeed, how it might be remedied?
Any help here would be very much appreciated. I'm bored of going into the play store and selecting each app when I know it should be able to happen automatically!
Cheers,
Mike. ???

I appreciate the suggestion my friend, but my issue is around my phone not being in the list of devices when flashing a new ROM.
I'm not sure how flashing the stock ROM would help, especially as I was on the stock ROM initially.
Thanks anyway. ?

I'm not sure how I can elaborate on what I had originally written. I tried to be as clear as possible.
However, here goes...
When clean-flashing a new lollipop ROM, I am not seeing the option to restore data and apps from the last ROM I was running. At the stage where it asks which device I'd like to restore to the new ROM, I cannot see my G3 in the list of devices.
This never happened on my M7. I was always able to restore apps and data from the last ROM that I'd used, and it would happily download all the apps automatically. Now, I have to select "set up as new device", and download each app separately. Of course, I can use Titanium Backup, but on a new ROM I always like to get the app itself from the store and then restore data from TB.
Hopefully that explains the issue more clearly.
Thanks.
