[GUIDE] Get ANY 4.2.2 PrimoC ROM Working on Cricket - HTC One V

I've decided to make a solution for primoc users who are on the Cricket network and want to have working Mms on a custom ROM due to requests.
EXPERIMENT:
Nestoh has included my patch and added his own Virgin Mobile carrier text mod to it in a flashable zip. Try it and report if it works for you please!!! (Recommended to try on RhythmicRom!)
DOWNLOAD
Okay so this is quite simple.
Step 1: Download this and copy to your SD Card.
Step 2: Flash the VMtoCricket.zip in recovery
Step 3: Wipe Cache & Davlik then reboot into your ROM
Okay, now the easy part is done. Now we will change your APN settings to get your phone up and running on Cricket.
Now Follow These Steps:
-Open voice dialer
-Say Open Apn's
-Open Spint APN
-Hit Menu then Delete Sprint APN
-Hit menu then New APN
-Input the APN settings for cricket
APN Settings:
Code:
Carrier=Cricket
Apn=Cricket
Proxy=wap.mycricket.com
Port=8080
[email protected]
Password=cricket
MMSC=http://mms.mycricket.com/mycricket/mms.php
Hopefully this works for you! Fяy has verified for me it has worked.

This works fully now i finally have working mms on my rom

Just installed this, but I haven't tried to send any mms. Just wanted to add this onto it. Since it still says the carrier name is Virgin Mobile, here's a quick fix for that.
1. Download this http://www.mediafire.com/?lul47jcyj52t49c
2. Copy and paste it into your /system/framework
3. Set the permissions to -rw-r--r--
4. Reboot
Note- Make a backup before installing just in case. Because I know some people will forget to set the permissions or will set them wrong. Also, try pushing it through ADB, it's much easier.
Edit: By the way, this is for the Rhytmic Rom

ok... I just installed Rhythmic on my wife's phone... flawless! and flashed the cricket mms fix... working!! I just wanted to drop by an tell you THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No? Its the framework-res.apk its in your /system/framework folder. Do this step by step. Make a backup first tho.
1. The apk you downloaded (which is the framework-res.apk) rename it to 1framework-res.apk
2. Copy and paste it to the folder /system/framework
3. Set the permissions to -rw-r--r--
4. Delete the other framework-res.apk
5. Rename the '1framework-res.apk' to just 'framework-res.apk'
6. Reboot your phone.

Nope. The minute I delete the original framework apk everything starts force closing. I never get the opportunity to rename the other one. Tried with both file managers

I haven't tested it tho lol But I'm pretty sure it does work. Here's a link to it.... http://www.mediafire.com/download/er954171limo717/CricketMmsPatch.zip

[MOD]Phantom's Build.prop Tweaks

Taking this down for now, I have a rom coming out tonight
Hey all, some of you may know me from other sammy forums. I currently don't have a galaxy s iii yet, so am limited to what I can do in terms of development at the moment, but would like to release some build prop tweaks for you guys to get things running a little smoother.
The build.prop is attached at the bottom, just unzip and adb push to /system or place it there using root explorer and change permissions to match the existing file.. Enjoy, I will have more to come soon
For the latest lf9 Update.
Awesome to see you here! Used Blazer on my SII right up until last month! Can't wait to see whats in store.

If we place it there with root explorer should we unzip it first? or place the zip there also?
Edit: Should we reboot the phone after adding this to the system folder? How is it activated? Thank you in advance
Unzipped, moved to /system, and replaced file. Tried a reboot but no dice. I suggest you know for sure that a mod is going to work before you post. No disrespect

I placed the build.prop file in the /system directory and gave it a reboot. My phone didn't show the boot animation. Wouldn't boot at all. I had to restore from a nandroid.
I used root explorer. Perhaps it can only be done using adb?

[MOD]No increasing ring tone - LJ2 - i317

Well I'm not sure why Samsung does this, however it drives me nuts. So here is the phone.apk without the increasing ringtone stuff.
Flash in recovery.
You must delete the "SecPhone.odex" in /system/app after installing. Until I can make a time to have the zip do it. Thanks
Click here to download
Enjoy!
I was looking for a way to disable this.. thanks!
Thanks man.. awesome mod...needed this
I flashed from recovery, rebooted and it said updating apps,starting apps, had my wife call but it still does that lame ascending ringtone. I tried rebooting and now every time it reboots it says updating apps, starting apps.. sucks lol takes a little longer to start up now. Any way to fix? I also found the file you talked about deleting but it said it was read only.

Not sure I can be of much more help if you're on a deodexed ROM already. I've stuck with rooted/de-bloated stock for the time being. Wiping the caches solved it for me, aside from the first boot after the cache wipe, of course, but I'm still fully odexed aside from that one file I deleted.
It worked for me this time, thinfs different from the first try, im now on the lite de-bloated stock rom and modded kernel

So it looks like I need to modify the zip install to remove the .odex file.
Makes sense since de-odexing turns the .odex into a classes file inside the apk, which is then edited. I'll edit the zip today to remove to .odex file.

Flash in recovery. Even if you aren't de-odexed this should still work. In the zip I did not have it delete the .odex extension in /system/app. So after you flash this feel free to delete the SecPhone.odex, or leave it, your choice.

4.2 apps package

For those that don't want to fully update to 4.2 but want some of the benefits... check out this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991734&page=20
Note-- I didn't flash this zip, I extracted the contents and installed the ones that I wanted
The only thing that isn't working correctly for me is the photosphere
If I were to extract the updates that I want, would that be done on the tablet or do I hook up to my PC? I'm not sure how to do this. Do i just flash them once they are extracted or are they apk files and i just load them? Can you point me in the right direction please? Thank you.

Actually I'm finding it is just easier to flash the zip. It works fine provided you have busybox installed. If there are apps you don't want to install, just delete the apk from the zip (yes they are apk files)
the reason I suggest this is because some of the apks have lib (.so) files associated with them (the gallery, for example, dosent work correctly without its libs)
Extra note the updater script in the zip will remove gallery, stock keyboard and deskclock.apk
I flashed the zip and now every time I try and go into settings of the clock or set a timer, I get a FC.

Your phone has to be rooted and you need to have any root explorer installed.
1. I'd suggest to back up SystemUI.apk and SystemUI.odex from the folder /system/app and to think about a recovery plan if something goes wrong.
2. Copy my SystemUI.apk into the folder /system and change its permissions to rw-r--r-- (644).
3. Delete SystemUI.odex from /system/app and move SystemUI.apk file from the folder /system to the folder /system/app with a replacement of the existing file.
4. After a successful replacement you will probably get some errors, all you need is to restart the device.
PS if you don't know or understand anything from the above firstly read about it then act or otherwise you can damage your smartphone.
I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong.
That all makes sense, only thing I don't know how to do is change permissions for the apk. How do I do that?
EDIT: using both es explorer or androzip i'm unable to move the file to the system folder. I have no idea how to get it there. Should I try a different file explorer?

To change the permissions you need to go to the file properties. After that just cut-paste it into the app folder. Es file explorer always works for me . However it had a strange behaviour when I tried to use 'copy to' or 'move to', so just cut-paste.
Finally got this going thanks to your patience! I had to leave the permissions to rwe and only copy/paste would work for some reason. Had to reset my wallpaper and turn data back on after reboot.
Otherwise all good, thanks!

[Q] Cannot change Bootanimation

OK I have changed my bootanimation many times with many roms. I cannot get it to work with my SIII using C-Rom. It's 4.4.2 (and an awesome rom btw). I placed the new bootanimation.zip in the system/media directory using root explorer just like always and I used one that I know for sure works because I have used it before. But instead of the new boot animation it just shows the image I attached and it kind of shimmers. I tried putting the original bootanimation.zip back in place and it still is this stupid picture. Any ideas?

In Root Explorer, under properties of the file, you can change permissions. The Animation won't work fine unless you set the right permissions.
Glad its worked out.
